• Donna (2/5): As a short term rental, privacy curtains, a TV, newer and better quality bedding and towels needed. - The unit is located northeast Madrid in a residential/office building where their are no tourist or popular places of interest. To get to the center of Madrid and other places of interest you need to take the bus at the corner to metro station and change metros in accordance with where your destination is. The other option is t walk 15 minutes (most typical person, I take 20 mins) to the Renfe train station and take that to the your destination or change at another train station to a metro or bus. The immediate neighborhood doe not offer much. There is a gas station at the bottom of a street and a movie theater within a 10 min walk. In a 20 min walk (30 mins for me) there is a laundry matt, a few neighborhood restaurants with limited hours, and there is an express market. On the way back from the Renfe station, gas station, movie cinema or neighborhood below it is an uphill walk. The studio does not have curtains and the window coverings behind bed is transparent making me very uncomfortable. When I look across at night to other apartment buildings to those who have curtains open, I can see everything. Two very old flat pillows were provided. Worn out unmatched towels provided. Bedding worn out. Not able to use the clothes washer. A note on the washer says it is only for the cleaner. It took me an hour round trip walking back and forth to do the laundry and this does not count the wait time for the laundry and, of course, it is an expense. Time at the unit was not good without a TV like other short term rentals offer. I was not always up to going to the movies as I was often tired from being out and commuting on public transportation and walking/going up the hill. There was not always a good movie or one of interest playing at the movies and it is an additional expense. It would be nice if there was a pot holder for the tea pot as the steam from the hot water is too hot on the hand. The cleaning supplies are for one day. I bought my own as my reservation was longer than one day.
