• Merlijn (8/5): Heerlijk comfortabel verblijf in een klassiek gebouw, gelegen in een prachtige natuur omgeving. - Prachtige gerenoveerd historisch gebouw met de zichtbare klassieke elementen maar al het comfort van een modern gebouw. Gelegen in een prachtig bos met veel natuur en mogelijkheden om van de natuur te genieten. Het ontbijt was geen buffet zoals het personeel eerst aangaf. Misschien was dit omdat er weinig gasten waren. Het was wat karig ingestoken en niet erg vriendelijk bediend als we ergens naar vroegen.

• Nick (9/5): Zeer romantische plek op enige afstand van de snelweg tussen Bremen en Hamburg. - Heel uitgebreid ontbijt. Goede koffievoorziening. Aan tafel wordt gevraagd welk soort eigerecht gemaakt zal worden. Late aankomst is door ons aangekondigd. Het hotel heeft gezorgd voor een mooie koude schotel met een fles witte wijn op de kamer.

• Ian (8/5): Other than the above, the hotel itself was lovely and the staff who were there in the morning were polite and friendly. - We booked on a Sunday to fit in with our travels but only found out after booking that the restaurant was closed and there were limited facilities for drinks. In fact there were no staff to be found and our room key was in an envelope stuck to the front door.

• Viktor (8/5): Dieses schöne Hotel ist immer eine Reise wert. - Ein ausgezeichnetes Frühstück mit allem, was dazu gehört. Die Lage des Hotels inmitten der Natur war für uns wunderbar. Hat man abends allerdings vor, in eine Disco zu gehen, dann ist man hier vermutlich völlig fehl am Platz. Es hat für uns nichts gegeben, was negativ anzumerken wäre. Wir waren rundum zufrieden und haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

• Brian (10/5): An Oasis in the wood. - First impressions were excellent- rustic, relaxed but classy. Booked originally for its position on the way to Denmark but surprised ( nicely 👌) by the uniqueness of the room- a mix between modern and old timber barn. Complementary coffee fruit & chocs! We booked dinner (definitely advised!) and enjoyed a wide, splendid selection of traditional cooking- that was excellent! An early breakfast that was plentiful as it was varied. It included options for the vegetarian and allergic. A single night stay truly felt like we had spent a restful holiday before our true one began. (An additional note, the hotel lies next to a lake which has a walk around it so getting there early and exploring is a must.) Nothing- all good!👍
• Stacey (9/5): Superb - Amazing location and very clean and modern The staff were friendly but didn’t give us a lot of information so we didn’t know when breakfast was or started from whether it was included in our stay or not and if it wasn’t how much it would be to add on. We ended up not having any breakfast as they came to tell us breakfast was finishing in half an hour so we rushed down to find the left over food they said we could help ourselves to but would still have to pay for the price of a full breakfast.

• E (9/5): Definitely worth returning to. - The location is very good. Beautiful surroundings, safe car parking, peaceful. Good bedding and mattress. One of the pillows was a bit odd. The service was professional and courteous. The room was as described, comfortable and well appointed. I was there on a national holiday so no staff in reception to welcome me and the restaurant was closed so can't comment on dinner but breakfast was fine. There could have been in room information on how to operate the sauna and whirlpool bath instead of leaving the guest to figure out where the box to turn on the sauna is and what the bath control panel meant. There may have been some info on the tablet in German but I didn't find it and my German isn't too bad. I wasn't a fan of the honesty drinks fridge in the corridor, there was no great choice for a single traveller who doesn't want a full bottle of wine or a beer. Some half bottles of wine and sparkling wine would have gone down well. Not sure what the switch at the entrance to the main room does but it didn't turn any lights on, so had to fumble in the dark for the lamp switches.

Everything was self-service, and the pre-booked food was not available, apparently because my email had not been received. In addition, the location is far off the motorway, which makes it inconvenient for a night break.
