Guest Reviews
- Glenn (9/5): An enjoyable stay. - We very much enjoyed our stay. Comfortable clean and in an ideal location for us. Although compact it as well designed with good facilities and a comfortable bed. The weather !
- Kathryn (9/5): Unique and peaceful ... not too close, not to far - We really enjoyed our stay on the stylish and cosy Euphrate. It was such a welcome retreat after a busy day in Amsterdam, which is only a 15-minute journey by tram. The location was ideal and there are local shops for essentials too. Agustina and Martin were perfect hosts -- they were on hand if we had any problems, but otherwise we were allowed our privacy. We would highly recommend if you are looking for a unique and tranquil stay close to Amsterdam. It was great having a fridge, kettle and coffee machine, but we felt it would lend itself to being more self-sufficient ... perhaps a way to heat food? It is more than a hotel room, but not quite self catering and, because of its quieter location, the latter option would appeal to a much wider group of people.
- corina (10/5): - Loved the hosts, Augustine was amazing and accommodating (special shout out to Sky for greeting us)
The room is surprisingly big and comfortable, we had everything we needed there.
Location is very close to the city center (15 mins by tram) but far enough so we can sleep without any noise The only downside for me was the steep access to the boat. I managed with no issues but was a bit scary (this may be a me issue because I am afraid of heights and can't swim). But overall the experience was amazing.
- Keith Bjornstad (10/5): Great place to stay near amenities and a 15 min train into central. Wonderful, attentive hosts. - It was very comfortable and a great location. The hosts were wonderful (great communication and quick responses to our questions). The train was a few minutes walk away and 15 minutes to Amsterdam Central. There was a great little bagel place for breakfast/brunch and a grocery store just a few minutes away. There are also decent restaurants in the area for the nights we didn't want to eat dinner downtown. Nothing.
Alles da was man braucht Etwas hellhörig
- Heloise (9/5): - A very nice experience with all luxuries and amenities , but on the water. Central, close to shops tram to central station and Augistina left snacks in our fridge and flowers to welcome us.
Highly recommended. Our stay was too short.

- Arne (10/5): - Sehr nette Gastgeberin.

- Michael Christian (9/5): - Its a small and cozy room. Its clean and it has everything that you need😄

- Ella (10/5): A cosy and safe solo stay on a lovely houseboat in Amsterdam - I stayed on the boat house in Amsterdam as a solo traveller and had such a lovely experience. The host was absolutely lovely and very friendly, welcoming and helpful throughout my stay.
The directions provided were very clear and easy to follow. Getting from Amsterdam Central Station to the boat house by tram was straightforward, and the instructions for accessing the jetty and getting onto the boat were excellent.
As I was travelling alone, I was initially a little concerned about safety, but I felt completely safe the entire time. The location also has great connections to the city, making it easy to get around.
The room itself was lovely and very comfortable. The shower was really nice and the toilet was separate. The amenities were excellent, with snacks and drinks in the fridge which was a really nice touch, as well as plenty of tea and coffee. The bed was very comfortable, there was a TV with Netflix, good heating, and the decor was beautiful and clearly done with care. There were a few small signs of wear and tear, but I stayed in winter and the weather was awful, so that was very understandable.
The lighting was quite dim, but it added to the cosy and comfortable atmosphere, especially in the evenings. Overall, it was a unique, cosy and memorable stay and I would absolutely recommend it, especially for solo travellers. The lighting was a little dim and there were a few small signs of wear and tear, but nothing that affected my comfort.
- breider (10/5): Grandioos - Alles was Top Niets 😇
- Jade (10/5): Awesome. - Amazing stay here! The boat was beautiful and amazing value. The location was only a 2 minute walk to the tram and the host advised us which trams to take. Prefect.

- Mamdouh (10/5): -
- Christian (10/5): special experience on a houseboat ❤️ - nice designed interior and special experience to live on a houseboat. close to tram line connection directly into the city. host was super helpful and caring during stay 👌 -
- Rebecca (10/5): - Everything. The place was unique, cosy and perfect
- Kathrin (10/5): - Gemütliche Unterkunft
Sehr zentral
- Michiel (9/5): Super luxe (slaap)kamer. - Super mooie nieuwe kamer. Super aardige beheerster. Prima bereikbaar.
- Diane (10/5): Perfect for a short break. - Very comfortable room with good facilities such as a really comfortable bed, great shower, fridge (with some goodies), kettle, hairdryer. Private entrance. Easy to get to by tram from the centre of Amsterdam and seems to be in a nice area with some shops and restaurants. A friendly host who communicated with us well before, during and after our stay. All good.
- Vega (4/5): -
- 23Roses (10/5): - Augustina is a lovely and caring landlady. The boat was beautiful and the location offered easy access to the train into Central Amsterdam
- Leigh (10/5): -
- Megi (9/5): -
- Frida (10/5): Very nice people and great room! Highly recommend😇 -
- mihaela (8/5): Beautiful and unique , thank you ! Highly recommended - Wonderful experience , highly recommended , clean & all details are great .
- Julia (10/5): - Sehr gemütlich, nette Gastgeber, sehr gute Lage an der Straßenbahn
- Thomas (10/5): Quirky, but lovely accommodation. Great location and hosts. - Everything! The design of the accommodation was quirky, but perfect for the space.. the location was very near a tram line with trams every 10mins to central station (10min journey). Sitting outside in the evening with a bottle of wine was lovely listening to the ducks and the sounds of the boats. The hosts were very friendly and helpful.. couldn’t have been better - highly recommended and would love to return ourselves Nothing
- Martin (10/5): - The accommodation was excellent. It was spacious, spotlessly clean, quiet and private. Agustina and Martin were very efficient and friendly and nothing was too much bother. The Euphrate is very well situated to the tram that takes you quickly into central Amsterdam. I will definitely stay again!
- Nick (9/5): Lovely boat and brilliant location👍🏼 - Unique place to stay, lovely and peaceful
Great location with 5 mins walk to the tram and 15 mins into central Amsterdam Nothing
- Alexia (9/5): -
- Costanza Silvia (10/5): - Camera adorabile, molto bella, funzionale e pulita! Esperienza super consigliata!
- D (8/5): -
- Shane (10/5): Great hosts bit if city which suited me as with my 10 year son but close enohhh to get into the city - Just doing the whole staying in. Houseboat as traveled lot and never experienced that Nothing really
- Darren (9/5): Superb -
- András (10/5): Exceptional - The accomodations is really great, the beds are ultra comfortable, theres plenty of space however if you are really tall, be careful not to hit your head, otherwise it really is amazing, there's a tram nearby that can take you to the city center. The host was extremely kind with us, she also has the sweetest dog ever! Can only recommend this place. :)
- Alexander (10/5): Perfect stay with easy access to the city centre - Great location, was really easy to get into the centre using the tram stop nearby. And the hosts were lovely
- Steve (10/5): Excellent - Loved the uniqueness of the boat, stayed in the old captains quarters, access via the wheelhouse made a very interesting stay Nothing
- Ece (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely loved this place. The boat is beautifully decorated, the owners are the most adorable couple living life us corporate people crave for and Sky, beautiful pup Sky.
It’s just a 15-min tram ride from the central station and has supermarkets and restaurants arounds.
Would 100% stay again!
- Stephen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jemima (8/5): Very good -
- Emilia (10/5): Lovely place and lovely hosts - Such a beautiful boat!!!! The hosts were so so kind and I would 100% stay there again! It’s in such a convenient location, a 15 minute tram ride from the central. The room we stayed in was lovely. The bed was so comfortable, the shower was AMAZING and there was lots and lots of storage. It made my trip staying here!!! (The photos were from after our stay hence why the room is the tiniest bit messy!)
- Ieva (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional -
- Carla (10/5): Very nice experience - Tiny and clean room, central station is far only 15 minutes Maybe more clothes hanger could be useful
- Natsuki (10/5): It became an unforgettable memory. - The owner was wonderful. They responded to my questions promptly, which I appreciated. I arrived around 6 p.m., and the room was already lit up, making me feel very welcomed. There was coffee and snacks prepared in the room, which allowed me to relax comfortably at the end of a full day out. Nothing
- Nikolaos (9/5): Clean and cute houseboat - Very nice houseboat in relatively convinient locotion , close to tram 26 which drives in Amsterdam center in 15 minutes.. Very clean
- Trudy (10/5): Lovely location a little different staying in a boat which appealed to us , lovely friendly people and amenities all clo - Comfortable lovely location , hosts were very friendly , spotlessly clean , had everything we needed N/A
- Sonja (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (10/5): Beautiful boat, lovely hosts! Great location. - Lovely room really friendly and welcoming hosts esp sky the dog 🐶 really quiet and handy location. Only thing I would mention is the ramp onto the boat has only one hand rail on one side but coming in late at night would have preferred two just for safety.
- Alex (10/5): A quiet relaxing stay in IJBurg but close enough to the Amsterdam City Centre - Close to Amsterdam Centre but far enough from the crowds! A 13 minute Tram ride from the centre.
Athough no breakfast was provided; this was known before I booked, a local cafe "Bagels and Beans" 3-4 minutes walk away in IJBurg provided an excellent breakfast in a relaxed atmosphere (Cafe had free WiFi for planning my day).
As the weather happened to be excellent during my stay; I had the use of the Jetty outside the Houseboat for relaxing in the evenings. Nothing comes too mind; as my short stay @ Euphrates Houseboat was completely as expected.
- Harriet (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the novelty of staying on a boat and thought the room was decorated very stylishly with all the comforts and facilities of a boutique hotel. The shower was particularly good! We also really enjoyed meeting our hosts and their dog Sky. They made us feel very at home. Easy to get into the centre of Amsterdam on the tram and nice to see a different part of the city away from the tourist crowds. Nothing!
- Lee (7/5): Massive potential, make sure the air con works. - Good price for somewhere close to the city centre.
2 minutes walk to the tram stop and 20 minutes ride to the centre.
Good parking close by.
Room was quirky, very well finished and decorated, giving great character.
Sky, the dog is lovely. One of the hosts was away visiting her mother and her husband wasn’t the most friendly or welcoming person. When we arrived he was no where to be seen and we tried to make our presence known. He did put in a brief appearance some hours later.
Later he sent one message with his
phone number in case we needed anything.
No drinking water in the room.
Air con remote batteries were flat.
Really I think when all you have is two small windows, and many mosquitoes, it is a boat on the water after all, there should be an explanation of how the air con works and a check to see it does!
I appreciate that we could have contacted him, but simple things like this shouldn’t need resolution, just forethought
- Kimber (4/5): Expensive for what it was. Could definitely be improved. - Nice clean room, good instructions from host but a few too many messages. The shower was impossible to work despite the instructions. The bedding was very cheap and uncomfortable, especially the pillows. It was noisy, not sure if the noise was mechanical noises from the boat? But there was a consistant pumping noise they kept me awake each night. It’s called Bed and Breakfast but there is no breakfast which is very misleading! It’s a good location, relatively easy to get to central Amsterdam (although the tram I was advised to get doesn’t seem to run at weekends which caused a lot of confusion, I eventually found a bus that would take me there) and it felt very secure there, but my advice to the host would be to look to into the above issues.
- Nina (10/5): Lovely - Of you are looking for something special, here you are. 10 minites from the Center you can chill and have a lovely time here
- Rafael (10/5): 2 wonderful days in Amsterdam ✌🏻 - It was great!!! Everything was good.
- Anne (10/5): Exceptional - A great weekend in a special place ! The room is comfortable and quiet and romantic. Really to Access from airport , easy to Park ,easy to take the tram to the city center. A supermarket and a nice coffee/breakfast place round the corner. Perfect
A unique feeling on being on the boat
- Sammi (10/5): Amazing - It was different staying on a boat.
It was modern, we were separate from the family/ hosts.
Everything! Nothing
- Daniel (9/5): Romantic houseboat - We are from Italy and it was the first time that we booked a houseboat in Amsterdam. We were immediately impressed by the pleasant and romantic atmosphere. Our hosts were very friendly and tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible. We'd love to come back!
Kind regards Daniel & Roman
