I was there during a holiday and met people from all parts of China. However, for some games as they are often played in the evening, there could be a language barrier. - bad WiFi - no hangers or hooks in the dorms or bathrooms - bathrooms dirty (can see that hair and cigarettes are not cleaned away for days) - bus from the train station not often, waited 90 min, consider taxi, for about 55 Yuan (February 2025) - some drunk local guys may “socialise” there too WiFi - no guest kitchen and expensive bar/restaurant

- Žemaitytė (7/5): Fantastic hostel for locals, not so much for foreigners - Good location within the ancient town of Shuhe. The hostel is massive, very modern, with cool ammenities like cinema screening, cafe, rooftop and etc. Also it organises activities like movie screenings and concerts inside the hostel so you can really have some fun time there (if you speak Chinese). Not the best place for foreigners. The staff speaks very little English so the help they can provide is minimal. This hostel is not popular with foreigners - I was the odd one out and so it made it quite lonely as I wasn't able to socialise and take part in activities. The toilets were quite bad! They were clean but the smell of it.... Would make me nauseous every time I had to use it. Very very bad smell. The room didn't have an AC! With 6 people sleeping in the room it felt like a sauna in there and I would stuggle to sleep at night with how hot it was.

And stay at the Old Town of Shuhe. I particularly liked the Old Town of Shuhe than Lijiang. A very good place to meet people and make friends. The people who work there were very helpful. When I got in the dorm, the floor was a little dirty, with a lot of dust and hair on the floor. I also bothered with some guests that made Checkin too late and entered at the dorm at 1 am, lighting the light and making a lot of noise, not respecting the rules of those who sleep in a hostel.
