Guest Reviews
- anne (8/5): - The room was clean, the bed was comfy.
- Brenda (9/5): My stay at the Pastoral was quiet and comfortable - This motel is basic but spotlessly clean, quiet and well supplied with friendly hosts and everything needed for a for a comfortable stay. The milk allowance was all I needed for a weekend and the cutlery was protected with a white paper bag. The bed was comfortable (and huge) and the room was quiet, even though the hotel is next door. I didn’t try the Bistro, but the menu sounded great and the seniors deal was very well priced and had a good variety of meals. I had brought my own supplies and augmented them from the local Woolworths, just across the railway line. The hotel is directly opposite the railway station, so it is very convenient for travellers who are unfamiliar with the layout of the town. Only minor issues, like the toilet cistern which had such good water pressure that it bounced off the inside of the lid and wet the seat, so that I had to wipe it after each use…. Still, the water pressure in the shower was great and the shower cubicle had lots of room and a flat floor surface. I had a wheelchair and there was a small step up to the doorway of my room, but I brought my crutches so I could back up to the door and pull the wheelchair up. Not much space for it in the room but it worked OK for the weekend. Overall, it was a very comfortable and quiet weekend and I will definitely stay again in future.
- Stuart (5/5): Fine except the tv issue - Location The tv in my room didn’t have any commercial channels only abc and sbs
- Nic (9/5): What a pleasant night - Very helpful staff. Convenient for rail station. Pleasantly dark and quiet - curtains closed well. Comfortable mattresses. Great to have a settee. Sound isolation between rooms a bit disappointing. Not a smart TV.
- Oswald (7/5): -
- Trevor (3/5): Not happy - Location close to town. Conditions of rooms not clean
- Pawan (8/5): -
- Sharad (7/5): Good Stay - The location was close to the station, tourist attractions. Cleanliness on untouched corners.
- Ralph (8/5): -
- Bruce (8/5): - The bar closers really early🥵
- Eason (8/5): Comfortable motel at a great price. - Did not have breakfast and location was good as we were not far from the river and family who we caught up with after many years. The little fridge was very old and the icebox was so iced up we could not use it. the door needed a push at the bottom to close it and plastic door liner was broken. The TV stations in Echuca were almost non existent due to a long term repeater tower outage. This was not the motel problem.
- Beerd (5/5): - Staff The tap leaked all day, and the spare blanket smelled like an old dog. For the rest as expected
- Douglas (9/5): - Centrally located, super easy check in and check out process.
We arrived late at night and received instructions via text for the door code to open our room.
Beds were very comfy and overall excellent value for money
- Jarrah (7/5): -
- Terry (1/5): Room stank no service of room during entire stay -
- Annette (9/5): A budget price for a comfortable and enjoyable stay! - Didn’t have breakfast, but had dinner two nights in the hotel. Meals were delicious and not overpriced.staff were friendly and efficient. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed was sooo comfortable, the shower had impressive pressure and was hot. Aircon worked well. Main Street was not far away, but it was peaceful and quiet at night. Ample spacious parking .All in all, a really pleasant stay. Will certainly stay there again. Haven’t got any complaints.
- Geoff (7/5): -
- Christopher (7/5): Will use them again - Staff in hotel excellent great food and drinks ,location good
- Jennifer (8/5): -
- Neville (8/5): - Location. Close to Echuca CBD. TV reception not good. Could not get most free to air stations. Ch 7,9 & 10.
ABC & SBS very patchy.
- Leanne (7/5): Sherrie was welcoming and efficient upon our arrival. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean - The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. There were a toaster and kettle, as well as tea and coffee supplies. Hand wash and shampoo/conditioner were provided. The air conditioner worked well. We were unable to park directly in front of our room as another car had parked there. We did not have adequate local knowledge to understand that the motel was not closer into the CBD.
- Gary (8/5): -
- Grantley (4/5): Average - No breakfast No non slip mat in shower. No provision for holding suitcases.very poor lighting.
- David (7/5): -
- mcintyre (8/5): - Good spot, clean, functional Outdated, no TV while I was there
- Akesa (10/5): Excellent - Everything was too good. Love the hospitality, love the accommodation, the breakfast was amazing. N/A
- Jason (7/5): - Perfect for what we needed
- Talia (8/5): -
- Zach (8/5): Great place if your having a meal at the Hotel instead of going out for a Meal. - I like the Pin lock it makes it safe for all guests to be safe & sound & great security. Didn’t have a Return key/card Box just had to leave it in the room.
- hemming (1/5): Very dodgy and unsafe - The pub on-site had good food and a nice play area for kids. It was an old school pub, looked like something out of the 1980s. The air conditioner was broken and was blowing out hot air. The temperature was 44/42 degrees on the weekend we were there. We were travelling with our 2 year old and a 10 week old baby. The 10 week old developed heat rash and was over heating. It was very unsafe. We reported the air con to management and he sent one of the staff, an Indian man, to "check" the air con. He then lied to our face and claimed the air con was working when it wasn't. It was particularly bad for families. You had to squeeze through a tiny gap between the wall and the bed to get to the bathroom. It was a major design flaw. It would have made housekeeping very hard. I didn't mind that the decor was dated, but the layout must be fixed. The motel was full of dodgy people and the yard was full of junk. It was also too far from the river and main road.
- Denis (10/5): -
- Carolyn (7/5): Have already rebooked so would definitely recommend - Location, friendly staff No a lot of room in the room a smaller couch or just an arm chair would provide more room as you kept knocking the wall print trying to get around the end of the bed to access the bathroom…
- Sebastian (7/5): -
- Neil (9/5): Id book hotel direct. Though booking it was $29 more expensive. - Cheap and clean All good
- Margaret (5/5): -
- Kim (7/5): -
- Rachael (4/5): - The bed was comfortable The TV didn’t work at all! And the air con was that old it was blowing out warm air. It had a smell to the room as soon as you walked in too.
- Diane (9/5): -
- Emily (10/5): -
- Darran (6/5): - Close to supermarket, shower was nice Not many stations on TV
- Kristen NZ (6/5): Clean and comfortable stay - The motel wasn't what I was expecting, but it was clean and comfortable and great for 1 nights stay. Good aircon on a hot day. Quick and easy check in. No hand towel or washing up liquid, but not a problem.
- Brett (9/5): -
- Melvin William ( Bill) (8/5): Very good value for money, clean and tasty dinner - Breakfast not included Noisy neighbor leaving at 4.30am
- Helen (7/5): - The room was spacious for 2 people and it had everything you needed including a microwave Shower old and mouldy near drain area
- Fay (8/5): -
- Ruth (1/5): - nothing Was old, bed uncomfortable and no room to move around
- Ryan (6/5): Small, clean and friendly in average location. - Staff were friendly on checkin, room a little older and smaller but seemed clean. Location a bit average, has some permanent residents (our neighbour was up till 11pm outside with a couple of locals).
- Michael (8/5): - Food was good. Friendly staff. Bed was very comfortable.
- Annette (5/5): Met our needs for the few days in Echuca but nothing special - Close to centre of Echuca
Comfortable bed The can with cigarette butts left outside our room
Poor lighting in unit and no privacy with curtains open
Something sticky on one of two chairs
- Tony (4/5): -
- Alan (4/5): Not a memorable place to stay. - Location was ideal for those travelling by train.
Locally grown fruit and vegetable co-op just a couple of minutes walk away. Rowdy neighbours and fights (like listening to episodes of ‘Jeremy Kyle’).
Little sound proofing.
Unclean cutlery, plates and glasses.
Poor lighting in room.
The most basic of ‘basic’ standard of accommodation.
- Gary (8/5): - It's not what was published in the app Not what was published in the advertisement and app. Certainly overpriced
- Cyril (8/5): -
- Anita (9/5): -
- Lyndell (7/5): The room had everything we needed and was walking distance from the center of town - Bed was comfy The smell of the room
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Joan (8/5): -
- Roger (6/5): -
- Ben (8/5): Value for money - Clean and comfortable, good location Tv was terrible reception
- Helena (9/5): Clean, comfortable, quiet. Perfect right sleep. - Dont let its rough exterior fool you, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, a kettle, microwave and fridge. Everything you need for a lovely stay in Echuca. Quiet, near the train station and an easy walk to town. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nothing. Had a lovely stay
- Costello (8/5): -
- maryanne (7/5): - Cheap & clean. Nothing
- Garry (8/5): Never judge a book by its cover! - Fantastic bed and linen.
Very clean room.
Good location. Nothing.
- adrian (7/5): You get what you pay for - a budget motel that has everything you need for a short stay. - The Pastoral Hotel is a good value budget motel in Echuca. While not located in the centre of town, it is not a long walk to get to the main drag. The rooms are basic but everything works. The WIFI was fast enough for me to watch a couple of films at night. Great idea to have the plug boards popping up on your side tables making it easy to charge up phone and computer. Even in fancy motels and hotels it can be hard to find a convenient socket. Had a microwave too which is what I needed as I had some food to warm up. One night stay on a business trip up to Mildura. Ideal. Nothing much, it had all I needed.
- Wilson (9/5): - Easy access and great parking. There doesn’t seem to be wifi in the room, but as I had brought my portable wifi device it was not really an issue for me.
- Sheila (8/5): - Staff very pleasant and helpful.
The motel was adjacent to the hotel which served very good meals.
The room was clean and comfortable with all the services required
Not far from the centre of Echuca and its historical areas Nothing
- Jo (8/5): -
- John (8/5): Close for work - Location Room was smaller than expected
- Luke (6/5): - Comfortable bed. Shower not clean, bin not emptied.
- Judith (6/5): A very good budget conscious motel with restaurant serving home style meals. - Great location close to town, opposite railway station and very quiet. Bed very comfortable and even though decor is quite vintage it was clean and everything you need while travelling. Recommended. Very friendly and helpful staff.
- Gary (7/5): -
- Allan (8/5): -
- Lance (5/5): -
- Steven (8/5): Nice - Right across the road from echuca train station and a short walk in to main street and port of echuca
- Angie (8/5): - The rooms were very clean, beds extremely comfy, hotel next door served great food and well priced The walls are paper thin, so if you like early nights or sleep lightly you will find it hard to sleep
- Brown (7/5): It’s a Hotel with rooms - I didn’t realise this was a hotel/Motel when booking and appearances weren’t flash but the room was clean and comfortable. Glad it was a Sunday, they closed at 6pm! Out the way a bit and no wifi.
- Dennis (10/5): Great budget stopover - Warm friendly helpful staff All good
- Wendy (8/5): Adequate. Good dinner - The price A little bit more room between bed and couch
- Paddlechick (8/5): Echuca a must-visit town! - Location, cleanliness, manager Sherry. My travelling companion enjoyed the pub lunch. We had two nights there! Rude staff member who hadn't read your confirmation re departure time who rang and was aggressively angry that our bags were still in the room
- Alan (4/5): -
- John (5/5): Value for money and great location spoiled by faulty door lock. - Great location. Room clean and comfortable. The door to our room didn't lock and when we complained we were told that there was no one there that could help. We had to leave everything locked in our car. The manager did come much later and try to fix the lock but gave up after 15 minutes and gave us another room. We should have been given another room when we first complained.
- Kathy (2/5): - The place was dirty , smelled of mould and the bathroom was dirty, the basin was old and shower cabin also dirty . Place was tiny and not worth the money we paid. I cancelled as I am suffering from asthma and the smell was making me sick . I was told that I will get my money back . We didn’t stay there. I’m surprised that Expedia actually has a place like that advertised.
- Daniel (8/5): - The room good the choice off food was limited we are elsewhere
- Sara (5/5): -
- Christopher (8/5): Okay - Bed was very comfortable I stayed on a Monday night unfortunately meals were not available had to drive to the Workers club to eat
- Jan (8/5): Had everything we like for an overnight stay. Would come again. - So close to town/station yet quiet, friendly welcome, clean, comfy bed, fridge, kettle & toaster, really enjoyed our stay! Crockery
- Doyle (8/5): Great place to stay close to transport and CBD - No Breakfast option but location is great. It is over the road from the Echuca Railway station if you arrive by train. We came by car and there is plenty of space for parking. Easy walking distance to the Echuca CBD. The meals at the hotel were great. The room may have been slightly overfurnished which made it seem cramped for space. Did not see need for the sofa which took up a fair bit of room.
- Russell (8/5): - Staff
- John (8/5): -
- Mark (9/5): - Clean quite and comfortable No wi fi
- Melanie (7/5): -
- Karen (5/5): -
- Gregory (7/5): Good value for money. - Bed and Benchtop facilities were good. Bathroom was cold via wall exhaust fan grille.
Also l didnt have a face washer handy in bathroom.
The double couch near the bed made it bit tight for movement.
- Judith (6/5): -
- Daniel (9/5): -
- Lisa (10/5): -
- Lynn (9/5): Good value for money. - Right opposite the train station, very handy if arriving by train and Close to Town. For the price I was very surprised, two beds 1 Queen and 1 single, bed was very comfortable. It is an older hotel so a bit dated but very clean so who cares only there to sleep. Small fridge so be aware if you have a lot to put in it. We only had milk and butter no problem for one night. Good value for money. The clown in the room next door started his truck up early and left it running, we were nearly asphyxiated with the stink of diesel. Not the hotels fault.
Unfortunately the restaurant was not open on a Sunday, having been to the Blues Festival we could have done with a night in. The RSL in Moama does nice food so all good.
- dyson (9/5): very happy - bistro was good ,staff, friendly and comfortable seating
- George (7/5): -
- Jamie (9/5): Superb - The bed was comfy A/C old and noisy but did its job.
