Guest Reviews
- Agnes (7/5): Good enough for a couple of days allowing a day tour to Lamanai temples (USD150 per person + tax&tip) - Clean. Friendly. Nice staff. Nice pool and hot tub. Convenient location to visit Lamanai Maya temples. The food menu could be more diverse. Except for the daily “main meat chef’s special” , the menu has international pretenses that it does not deliver. In addition, the prices charged for some basic food items are steep: the costs of appetizers, local fruit juice, coconuts, cup of drip coffee and breakfast items rival Manhattan prices.
- Julia (10/5): Gorgeous resort in relaxing setting - The resort is located in the middle of the jungle without missing a high comfort. Relaxing with nature sounds makes is absolutely stunning. We also liked the trip to Lamanai which is sort of an adventure. The hotels restaurant serves delicious food and the staff is extraordinary friendly. We highly recommend a stay at Abezza!
- Belinda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clare (10/5): An amazing experience. We have never stayed in sucha unique places - A very unique property set in the most amazing rainforest and gardens. The staff were very friendly and they could not have done enough for us. The food is all prepared on the property and delicious. The pools could have been a little warmer.
Unfortunately the road to the property is very poor but an interesting drive from the airport. Fortunately the road is starting to be improved.
- Katya (8/5): Great unique experience at this resort! - Breakfast was great! The many outdoor seating areas were wonderful. Guided forest walk was great. Mid massage was wonderful! Very unique resort in a forested area with large yoga room - but no yoga classes. Mats were available there and a beautiful serene environment for yoga! Beds could be firmer. Should ask customers whether they can do stairs prior to booking.
- Jean (9/5): Amazing staff that will take care of you and everything needed for a worry-free vacation. - The staff is amazing. Melanie will help you with everything. Everyone looks out for you. The chef woke up early to make us breakfast because we were leaving on an early excursion. The masseuses were great and gave my daughters and I an unforgettable mud experience. It’s a bit far from any cave excursion. Also, there is nowhere close to eat other than at the hotel.
- Tanja (10/5): A hidden gem in the jungle for complete relaxation - I can’t say enough good things about this resort. Staying here feels like you are in paradise. Melanie, the owner, and everyone working there are so attentive, caring and try to fulfill each of your wishes. They take care of so many small details that make your stay just perfect. There are not too many rooms, so it never feels crowded in the pool or in the restaurant. You can order room service or pool service for every meal, and purified water is for free. At Christmas Eve Melanie even handed out little gift bags for every guest. Yes the resort is in a remote place but it feels luxurious as they have everything you need, incl a Spa, WiFi and Netflix in your rooms, and day trips if you want to get out and explore. The lovely decoration and colorful lights on the property in the middle of the jungle give it a magical feel. Every day I found another small detail and I couldn’t stop taking pictures. If you want to disconnect and relax, this is the place for it! -
- Erin (10/5): Wonderful Stay - The property is gorgeous. The food was very good and the staff very nice and friendly. I went on tours organized by the property and it was nice that it was all taken care of by the property.
- Calum (8/5): A bright and unique stay stuffed with fun activities and lush vegetation. - The resort and facilities are very wonderfully embedded in the surrounding nature, with even a simple walk from your room to the restaurant taking you through winding paths thick with trees, plants and flowers, and at night you can see the stars wherever you go. The staff were very helpful for booking trips and planning our stay, there was a wide variety of activities on offer from the onsite spa and the surrounding area is packed with cultural and historical sites to visit. We would particularly recommend the Couples Mood Mud massage, a truly unforgettable experience! The dinner menus were very good, with multiple specials changing every day keeping it fresh and exciting. The road quality getting to Abezza is terrible coming from either direction, would HIGHLY recommend some sort of 4WD vehicle to get there without worrying about cracking your axle. We were there during the offseason, so for most of our stay we were the only guests though not through any fault of the property. The staff were actually too attentive at times I think for this reason. We were there on our honeymoon and the resort is a renowned honeymooning spot, so they could've done with backing off a little to allow us more private time together.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julia (10/5): Perfect little paradise!! - It was just awesome, the staff was super friendly and helped with any request. Even when we forgot our charger, which was absolutely not their responsibility, they borrowed us one!
It is a small paradise with jungle entry in the back, the pools are very nice and the huts are gorgeous and unique.
The food was out of this world!!! We loved the variety of daily specials and the quality and taste were just phenomenal!!! Nothing really bad, the beds were a little too soft and for the hungry ones, the food could come in a little bigger portions... But everything else was just perfect!
- Regina (5/5): Passable - I like that staff was amazing Melanie was good and sandy was excellent and Gloria also very nice the massage was also good What I didn't like was the airport ride was 1 hour and I was charged 120 each way if I wanted to leave the resort the resort doesn't have any entertainment to make you want to stay all day l had to rent a car witch was cheaper Friday to Mon also the tv is DVD only and the wifi was very bad this resort is for mental health and not for party and beware the mosquito will eat you alive there was a bad odor in the morning come to find out it was the water it smelled so bad I couldn't believe I washed my face with it I couldn't wait to go home to take a shower
- Lenka (10/5): Amazing experience, Abezza is a hidden gem in a jungle of Belize! Definitely coming back! - Amazing property, stylish, beautiful pools. hidden gem in the jungle of Belize. Melanie is a great host.
- Keyanna (10/5): Exceptional - I absolutely loved the hospitality and how clean the property was. I did love all that you can do on the resort and how comfortable they make you feel. I would definitely visit again. Wanted to be closer to shops, restaurant and the beach.
- Brendan (7/5): Good -
- Daniel (3/5): Poor - The staff was attentive and food was good The gym was a joke - old, rusty weights. Everything was dated including a DVR with pirated DVDs. The worst part was I was exposed to legionella bacteria at the resort and was very sick requiring hospitilization when I returned home.
- Claudette (10/5): Awesome place and best vacation spot!!! - The Chef was absolutely awesome as everything tasted so nicely seasoned with fresh local seasonings!! I thoroughly enjoyed all the meals including the awesome desserts! The staff are so accommodating and attentive, loved them!!! The owner/manager saw to every detail as if it were for herself!! Such care, warmth, and professionalism!!! Nothing they can do about mosquitoes but they did provide a homemade local remedy to all guests. But the grounds and rooms were so well kept and beautiful it was easy to overlook the minor annoyance of a few mosquitoes.
- Courtney (9/5): Superb -
- Tom (10/5): Highlight of our time in Belize - Melanie and her team were fantastic. The hotel was very luxurious- two pools, plenty of tours available, top notch food, a great room. We would come back in a heartbeat.
- Meltem (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eleanor (10/5): BEST AUTHENTIC RESORT STAY - Words can not begin to explain how beautiful and unique this resort was. Everything about this place was magnificent. From our host Melanie who oversees the property...she was so attentive. On the spot whatever you needed she made sure you had it. I was in touch with her prior to our stay and any time I reached out to her, she promptly replied. The food was amazing Everything was so fresh and delicious. So many nooks and crannies authentically decorated. You won't get tired of taking pictures. A definite must. I will be back for sure! There was nothing not to like!
- Cara (9/5): Superb -
- Binsy (8/5): Very good -
- Tucker (8/5): Overall it was an awesome experience. I certainly recommend going there for 2-3 nights. We really enjoyed getting to - Very unique atmosphere. At first I was like “what are we doing way out here”, but the vibe of this place settles you in quickly. I enjoyed the authentic and natural beauty there. The staff was very accommodating and friendly but the service was very slow. I would wait more than 20 minutes for almost any requested item (beverage, salt & pepper, etc..). I understand we were there to relax but that issue made it harder for me just chill.
- Daniel (8/5): Sensuous extravagance from another world - Mud baths, primitive Belizean sculpture strewn about the grounds, wonderful swimming pools and mineral baths, wait staff, other worldliness, thorough exotica, bird sanctuary and bird watching platforms, rich colors, rum punch, the food was truly delightful and prepared to order for hours before out arrival at the dinner table. Solitude. Mosquitos. Soft beds. Aesthetically poor interior lighting in our room.
- Karla (10/5): Excellent staff, excellent management, excellent everything! - Everything was wonderful, food, rooms, property. The staff and management went above and beyond our expectations. We loved our time there. We didn't realize how far away from town we would be, but all in all in did not matter. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.
- Norma (10/5): Exceptional - Peaceful escape
- Lesley (10/5): Exceptional -
- Palomin (10/5): Nice get a way for couples. - The staff was very attentive.
The room was above our expectation.
Spa service were excellent and accommodating to our schedule. All was good.
- Hall (9/5): Superb -
- Joss (5/5): Would definitely go again but at a different time. - The staff and location The food
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was excellent and so welcoming. We had a great time.
- Rhonda (10/5): Loved the attention to detail at every end - food, room, surroundings, service. - We went in the "off" season so there was really no one else there but we enjoyed that. The food was excellent. The service was excellent. The resort scheduled all of the excursions, including the transportation so there was nothing for us to do except take the ride to the excursion, enjoy the day, and return safely. Nothing
- Jesse (9/5): Really great boutique resort. Lots of positives some negatives will recommend. - I liked the service. Everyone was super helpful and friendly. The food was amazing too. I loved that they had weights in the fitness center. The cleanliness of the fitness center was an issue. Looked like nobody cleaned it or even had wipes or some cleaner in the facility. That would have made a big difference. Also I didn’t realize it was still so far away from every activity like an hour drive everywhere we went.
- Rebecca (10/5): MUST GO! - Well, we felt like royalty, being picked up at the airport and driven to the resort. They really had made everything so easy to do, and relax. It was just an amazing facility, with so much to offer, the room was gorgeous, the food amazing a gorgeous yoga studio, and beautiful spa treatment room with very talented masseuses. The adventures we went on, were so well organized and our guides were so knowledgeable. We really felt like we were in great hands the whole visit. Everything made fresh and different specials every meal and every day. The pools were beautiful, as we were in a rainforest, it did rain a bit, but they had lovely little places to get out of the rain while waiting for it to pass. The staff was amazing, as we got to know everyone so well. We were there in the off season so it wasn't busy at all and I loved that. The hibiscus mojito was awesome! Melanie and her staff were top notch and were very welcoming and yet gave us our space to really unwind. I would love to host a yoga retreat here in the near future.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional - Accommodations were great! The food was amazing! Super friendly staff! Rough roads to destination...I guess expected in the jungle. Allow more time to get where you're goung.
- Mason (10/5): We were treated like royalty. We had a spa day and guided tours. the resort was beautiful! Melanie was a fantastic host. - beautiful and great service. The road to it was a bit bumpy and needs a paved road. No fault to the resort.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Manar (10/5): Belize hidden gem - The people, Melanie is an awesome host that will make you feel welcomed and comfortable. The staff made our stay personal and we spent happy time chatting with them.
The food, fresh, clean and yummy. They have rich menu for each meal (breakfast lunch and dinner) and drinks are always ready and good. I personally loved creeps for breakfast!
The place, exotic! There is something to look at at where you look and always discover new things. Alot of testing and chilling cool areas around the place. Its big , couple pools , mineral bath and alot of nice trails to explore.
The room, spacious and clean. The bed is comfortable and we watched movies using the CD collections they offered. Felt good to unplug from wifi as its only available by the pool area. Our trip was 5 days only, i wanted to stay much longer
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent food. A coffee maker in the room.
- Tara (10/5): Jungle Jem - Such a relaxing vibe and space. Great little knooks to hang out in. 2 beautiful pools. Food was excellent. Highly recommend and definitely will make a trip back just to come here.
- Sally (10/5): You feel like family here. - A very unique property. Lots of interesting and quirky stuff to look at. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The road going to it gets a little rough but some lovely little villages along the way.
- Jolene (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lavinia (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing stay! Off the beaten track, quiet during off season, the hotel is located in a jungle oasis, surrounded by a wonderful mix of palm trees, huge monsteras, pothos, and other exotic plans.
We spent 3 relaxing days here, just by the pool, or playing ping-pong, or eating :)
Totally recommend the 90min aromatherapy message.
- James (8/5): Our stay was lovely, made more enjoyable by the Belizean people! - The staff and owner were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. If arriving from the south, the highway is in good condition and the resort is easily accessible. if arriving from the north, the highway is very rough and barely passable.
- Jama (8/5): Very good -
- Anaé (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ari (10/5): Exceptional - The spa was a awesome experience! Definitely recommend the mud spa! The food was fresh and delicious! The owners were so nice and accommodating! Loved everything during our stay Nothing!
- Tanya (10/5): Exceptional - The resort is absolutely beautiful! Melanie and staff made my husband and I feel like a king and queen. Exceptional customer service and delicious healthy food. Our spa experience was relaxing and unforgettable. Had a great time on the Cave Tubing and the Lamina Maya tours! NA
- Alyssa (8/5): Very good -
- Thomas (10/5): This is the place to stay to relax. Beautiful, isolated, but wonderful staff. - The resort was beautiful. The staff was extremely friendly and always looking to help us have the best experience. The food was delicious. We really enjoyed the pools. The drive out was a little of a challenge due to the road if you come south on the Old Northern Highway from Orange Walk. Driving in from the south past Altun Ha and through Maskall village was picturesque and easier. We didn't have a fridge in our room but it wasn't a problem since we were a short stay
- Stott (7/5): Unique experience with great staff and food! - Food and service was great, Felt very safe on the property, beautiful authentic property. Rooms was not cool enough had to have resort get a fan and still was not the coolness I am use to when I stay at other places. And no wifi in the rooms is a big NO!, they need to figure how they need to incorporate that in each room, also did not have refrigerator in my room.
