Guest Reviews
- Ben (8/5): -
- Daniel (10/5): -
- Veteran (10/5): Great place for dogs , and also cats as they get to see things they don’t normally get to see - The cows with hairy udders and the occasional oversized mouse The noisy pump - but I heard worse while trying to get to sleep
But don’t worry it was mentioned that a plumber is booked
- Bec (10/5): Perfect getaway to relax and rejuvenate - We loved the whole vibe of the shack, country styles and warm welcoming layout. Loved the land, the cattle (they certainly love pats!), and the little fenced off backyard. We spent hours in the afternoon playing ball in the yard with the kids, whilst the cows came to investigate us over the fence. Then as sun set we got to watch kangaroos hop across in the distance. Beautiful spot with gorgeous native wildlife. There was nothing we disliked about the property! We actually booked a second night whilst we were at the shack because we weren’t ready to go home the next day after seeing how lovely it was.
- Alejandro (8/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): Country retreat - Quiet spot, comfy bed, warm heater Bit cross country to reach cottage, water pump noisy until we found out how to turn it off. Good idea to arrive in daylight to find the venue
- Ricardo Viotto (10/5): Perfect place to rest - It's the perfect place to disconnect from daily life and reconnect with yourself. I regret only staying one night, I should have stayed at least one more...very clean and quiet place. The hosts were amazing! It was all well—nothing to say.
- Miha (7/5): So far so good. - Awesome place. Heating did not work and it was 4 degrees outside.

Really good quality sheets, towels etc. The room was decorated with old family items like an old Sewing, a piece of antique glassware, an old family photograph.

- Rebecca (10/5): Cute quiet overnight stay - It was a cute little cabin at the back of 100 acres. It was quite and really well set out. The hosts were helpful and friendly to help us with any problems. We needed to stay for more than one night to enjoy it properly! The kids didn't want to leave.

- Timothy (9/5): Superb - It was a lovely little quiet cottage. We just wish we had of arrived earlier to enjoy our time we had at the cottage.
- Rikki-lee (10/5): GILINLEA SHACK IS NOTHING SHORT OF A MAGICAL COUNTRY ESCAPE - We 'loved' our entire Shack experience.
My hubby and our girls (12 & 14yrs) spent a total of 7 nights at Gilinlea Shack. We were deeply saddened to be leaving.
There was absolutely nothing the owners missed on this one. From Modernised rustic living totally off grid and nestled away.
On our first morning we woke to a Stag 🦌 tip toeing along the fence line, the friendly cows must have smelt country on us as they stayed away and didn't visit at all.
The girls found a little gecko of which they adored and were humbled by the kangaroos bouncing around on our return late one evening.
We had the pleasure of meeting the lovely owners midweek as they dropped off some fresh linen & towels. ... not only this, they rearranged the bed settings so our daughters had their own beds prior to our arrival... those beds of which they did not want to leave.
The fire pit kept us warm & provided tasty bush tucker treats we couldnt have baked in the oven.
The Bar-b-cue was put to great use with Breakfast & Dinner every day/night.
The Shack is gorgeous, beautifully clean and easy to find.
The surrounding towns were full of genuinely beautiful, kind hearted and welcoming people.
We absolutely recommend Gilinlea Shack and would stay here again without question.
The sunrises and sunsets were nothing short of magical.
- Zookiah (10/5): Fantastic stay - Beautiful, private and secluded. Had everything you could need! Hosts were fantastic and super accommodating. A great place to disconnect from the wider world. Was a little difficult finding the property in pitch dark if you are arriving at night. But once you find the track, it's an easy, straight run, it's just a bit further up the track than you might initially think.

Best nights sleep I’ve had in a long time.
- Tammy (10/5): Relaxing country getaway with total privacy (except for the inquisitive cows). - Super relaxing location. Loved the cows who came to visit often during our stay. As we stayed in the middle of summer, it was very hot and the small fans provided didn’t do much to alleviate the heat.
