We had to leave earlier than the official breakfast times the enxt morning, but they made the effort and prepared something for us anyway. Thank you for that. The room was also relatively quiet considering that it's right in the center. You could only hear other guests and staff, as our room was next to the reception. The pool is smaller than it looks like on the pictures and it didn;t look very clean. The rest was great!

• Noel (10/5): Recomiendo leer - Regresamos por segunda vez al mismo alojamiento, del cual le tenemos gran estima. Habrán alojamientos "más modernos", quizás, en Santa Marta, pero en este, nos hicieron sentir como si estuviésemos en casa. Las dos mujeres que nos atendieron nos trataron extraordinariamente bien. Atentas en todo momento. Además, el alojamiento es una casa antigua tipo colonial que te transmite una muy buena vibra. Teníamos de todo, aire acondicionado, baño privado, cama cómoda, limpio, wifi, desayuno, y buen trato cercano. No se le puede pedir más.

• Manjiri (5/5): Centrally located- but run more like a homestay than a professional hotel - - The location is very central. Just a short walk from the major attractions in the centre of town - The are multiple dining/ activity options around the place - The couple running the place Jorge and Lucia are responsive and present at the property. They helped drop me off at a place across town as a gesture of hospitality - They have connects with reliable taxi services to the airport - I was booked at the hotel for 4 nights. The first day in the afternoon the fire alarm in the room kept buzzing loudly every 10 mins and thankfully they had it disconnected on request. - The AC in the room stopped working at night and thus I was moved to a bunk-bedded room which was right beside the road which made it really noisy & impossible to sleep - The alternative room given for the next few nights had construction work going on right outside, which meant noise and dust were a perennial issue, making it impossible to rest during a holiday - The second night the inhabitants of an adjoining room were loud and around mid-night I had to request them to keep it down - Overall, though Jorge and Lucia are genuine people, this place is run more like a homestay than a professional hotel - Of the 3 rooms I moved to owing to the logistical issues- only one had an actual shower faucet. The other 2 rooms have just a pipe jutting out the way for a shower. - Owing to Easter weekend finding an alternative hotel and processing a cancellation for the stay though ideal was not feasible.

There’s a woman who cleans and make the bfast every morning and she is the nicest and most accommodating woman ever!! Her breakfasts are perfect and she makes great hot chocolate. The location is perfect and the rooms are spacious and well-thought out. The window faces a courtyard and if there’s people talking in there late night it is noisy. That only happened once tho. There is a bird in the courtyard that wakes you up early every morning but we were kind of grateful for that. Our shower was broken the first day but they fixed it fast but then the shower door broke. Not really a big deal tho.

• Diane (9/5): Historic house with great faciltiies in the heart of Santa Marta - Big, traditional house with lots of character. The room I had was very big with a ceiling fan and aircon (essential in Santa Marta) and nice bathroom. There were lots of areas to relax in the house from a front room to a dining area with additional seating and the courtyard. Breakfast was good and the owner and housekeeper were both lovely and at the end of WhatsApp for questions. Laundry was done promptly and the owner's son dropped me at the airport (for same price as a taxi so less stress). WiFi was really good, enough for online meetings to be fine. Noise from outside was minimal given it's really close to the nightlife areas and less than a 10 min walk to the marina. Good restaurants a few doors away. Refillable water would be good (but I haven't found this very often on this Colombia trip) and/or access to the fridge. I was the only person staying for most of the time I was there and I didn't like entering the house from the street knowing there was nobody else there in the evening (but this may not bother most people)

I was able to walk to restaurants, shops, nightlife, supermarket, a mall, and famous attractions. I really liked that breakfast was served within the hotel because it saved me time in the morning and I was just be able to explore the city. I recommend going to Rodadero, Taganga, and Tayrona beach! My room was comfortable, clean, and I loved that it had a/c!!!
• Claudia (10/5): Colonial, Cosy and clean location! - La Palma Hotel is a beautiful house with colonial style , I loved the interior design the room was big and we did sleep confortable there. Bathroom was good and very clean like everything . Lucia our hosts is very nice person and helpfulness with all what we asked. She got us tips for places to visit and information for going to Tayrona. She has a little Loro 🦜 names Pachito, who every morning stay with us during the Breakfast, it was delicious with coffee, arepas and eggs. La Palma have a good location close to bars, shops, restaurants. The supermarket is in a quiet area. I recommend a bar/ Rest. La Oficina with best Mojitos and good food. Near you can find nightlife with live music. We did make a Tour to Minca, it was very nice. We really enjoyed our stay at La Palma and can recommend to stay there. Nothing
• John (6/5): This is a homestay in the city centre. If you’re happy to stay in someone else’s home it’s a perfect choice. - The classic historic building and very large bedroom are very lovely. The patio with resident budgie is nice for breakfast. Mum provided a quick and great value laundry service after my Ciudad Pérfida trek. The location could not be better.
