Guest Reviews
- Geraldo (6/5): - Hotel bem localizado. Quarto e banheiro limpos e pequenos.
- Arinilson (10/5): - A localização é excelente. Recomendo.
- Gisela (6/5): - Hotel bem decorado e reformado porém antigo. Cama boa! Quarrying limpo. Muito bem localizado. Funcionários educados.
- Christiaan (4/5): - The location is good, and the styling of the hotel is a matter of taste. However, the quality of the room and its amenities is simply poor. The soundproofing is non-existent, and in both our first and second room there was no way to hang towels. Additionally, in our first so-called VIP room, the toilet was not fixed to the floor, and a ventilation vent started blowing air loudly for an hour during the night.
- CATALANI (10/5): - Struttura vicinissima alla movida e alla gran via. Metro a due passi
- Vivienne (6/5): - Very unique hotel. Loved the decor. Room was lovely but would have liked a wardrobe to put suitcases away. Bed was very comfortable but found it hard to sleep due to the noise from the road outside and the construction noise. Location was perfect only a short walk to gran via and Callao metro stop.
- Daniele (6/5): Um hotel Ok. Nada demais.
- Douglas (8/5): - It was good!
- paola (8/5): - Bien
- Norbert (6/5): - Unterkunft gut. Konzept als Übernachtungshotel Super
- Julia (10/5): - Best location to go around in Madrid. Most highlights were walkable. Lots of food options around to choose from.
- Angela Maria (6/5): - Hospedagem dentro do esperado. Localização excelente... adorei.
- Stig Petter (6/5): - Room in a converted garage. Basin the bathroom was loose. Everything looked like it had been put together on the cheap. Soundproofing was not very good. Overall not impressed or worth the cost. Description is not valid for rooms in the «garage».
- Paul (10/5): - Great hotel, staff very helpful, convenient location. Will definitely be back when visiting Madrid
- vincent (6/5): Not for business travel - Do not recommend for business travel, this is a hostal playing boutique. Not desk, no iron ( i asked 3 time), check in took 20 minutes, long hair in bathroom and on floor, no soundproofing, i heard a snoring monster next door
- Marius (2/5): - booked a twin room two month ago. when arrived was cramped into a queue. size bed with my mum. I mean I'm 40 years old dude taking my 70 years old mum for a trip. the schmuck at the reception said he cannot do anything, hotel over booked. YUO HAD THE WHOLE MONTH!!!!! not yesterday???
then I asked the schmuck to give me at least extra sheets .. he said sure I'll do it and bring it to my hotel room. came back from dinner and guess what?? no sheets and no schmuck, apparently finishes work at midnight.l. hopefully this my experience will scare away couple of souls of staying there
- paul (8/5): - Good location and services.
- Erdem (8/5): Madrid hotel - Convenient location. Good value for our stay before our flight out of Madrid. (Family of four) Cafetería Dos Passos nearby is a nice diner for great breakfast.
- Karla (10/5): - This property was very unique indeed! It is like stepping into the Casablanca movie. It's Ralph Lauren meets safari, meets Caribbean island. The rooms are cozy, and if you don't want noise, don't reserve anything in the front with views.
They even have room service that you'll want to eat in the fabulous lobby, because they have a bar and dining tables as well.
The bed was comfy, there was a bath tub in my room!
The customer service is excellent!
I would definitely come back!
- Gianna (10/5): - Great location
- Krysten (10/5): - Everything was perfect
- Harneet (6/5): - AC doesn’t work.. was very humid and hot throughout night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Buen hotel cerca a atractivos turisticos - Buen hotel, personal amable cerca a gran vía y plaza España. Tiene un parking al lado.
- Douglas (10/5): - Basic, but clean and well-situated, hotel room. No concerns at all.
Able to check in/out on site now, friendly staff.
Excellent value given central location just off Gran Via/Malasana neighbourhood.
- Alexandra (10/5): - The theming was so nice! We really enjoyed the room and balcony! Highly recommend as it was also pretty central!
- Mirtha (6/5): - The hotel is not bad but needs to be updated
- roxana (10/5): - Linda
- ELSA FABIOLA (10/5): - Superó nuestras expectativas gracias un hotel boutique
- sameea (6/5): Okay - The hotel lobby is unattractive and dingy. There was no railing for the entrance set of steps and the entrance with a ramp was closed and only accessible when leaving. The parking fee is extortionate and really tight with a small SUV. There is a cheaper parking on the left side before the hotel.
- jose carlos (8/5): - Buena
- Farzin (6/5): - They have turned a 2 story building into a 3 story hotel by converting the parking to the hotel lobby not in a professional way. The worst part was the ceiling of the lobby which was poorly covered by canopies. That aside, I can not rate customer service because there is NO customer service! When calling the front desk, there is no one to answer, I had to go down to lobby to find some one, and there was no body of the hotel staff there!
- Efrain Estela (10/5): - Unique but enjoyable
- TANIA (10/5): - Cool hotel in the center
- Jose (8/5): - Estilo bohemio.
Tienen muchas cosas cerca.
- Guillermo (10/5): - All the staff is really kind
- Stefanie (8/5): - good
- HANK (8/5): - Easy to access to most attractions
- Maxine (6/5): Gran Via Life very Boutique - We were welcomed warmly and passed over to another member of their team to check-in. Reception was in a room above the bar, lounge, meeting area but hardly enough room for one guest and the team member. I was offered one key and had to ask for another which was a bit strange because normally you are asked if you want two keys.
The downstairs lobby, bar, lounge and the outer rooms was a clutter of sofas, couches, arm chairs, low tables, flamingos, palm trees, reflection pond and so much stuff hanging from the ceiling such as dried grass or drapes that offered no real purpose. It was as if the word boutique was exaggerated.
The room was on the second floor via a slope downstairs and around the next corner also with drapes on the inside for no reason at all. The room was cozy and also had drapes hanging from a wire above the beds and completely in the way.
Air conditioning was seasonal we later found out so had to sleep with the door open to get some draft in there. Very uncomfortable. We had to ask for an additional hand towel and we told that we had to ask the following morning.
The staircase was sort of half carpeted but there were no rods to keep the carpet safe and in place. I think health and safety must differ from the UK because anyone not paying attention could trip and fall.
We didn't take breakfast but it looked ok and was served to you.
The entry after 12.00 is via a locked middle door via your key card and it isn't that easy to find.
It was functional though.
- Mohamed Fehri (10/5): - Proximité
- Mohamed Fehri (10/5): - We like proximity
- Katarina (6/5): - Internet connection is appallingly slow, internet connection is a vital function for 21st century, and it was barely on 2 bars, it is extremely slow, even for regular browsing
- Harleen (2/5): - the room cleanliness was terrible. Air conditioner did not work at all and the room got stuffy and unable to breath.
- Ruben A (10/5): - I would stay there again.
- Christine (10/5): - Hotel is older, but quaint - small, but suited our purposes. Just don't miss the call box on the outside edge of the door.
- Anthony (8/5): Disappointed - We have stayed at Hotel Life before so thought we knew what to expect. The hotel check in was difficult because it was to be done remotely. The emails were in Spanish and I contacted the hotel to ask them to send me the information in English. They sent it again in Spanish.
The hotel was cold and the heating wasn't working properly. We had to dress up warm to go to bed!
The hotel is now very tired and needs refurbishing.
- Montserrat Santasusana (8/5): - We liked the room and the hotel.
The unic complain was that we order the cleanning continue service and they didn't clean the room.
- Gloria (6/5): Ok stay - I was supposed to have stayed at Gran Vía and after waiting for a code past 16:30 I had to find a number to get someone to explain. I had to make a few calls to get an answer to be told to go to another sister hotel. The service was excellent! However the room smell was strong of cigarette and the AC did not cool down the room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - It was right in the centre easy to walk to the major squares: plaza major, gran via, calle callao, porta del sol, plaza espana.
Maybe more breakfast, hot food in the service.
The room was clean and tidy everyday. I definetly will recommed it.
- Samantha (10/5): Definitely recommend - We had a really comfortable and pleasant stay at Hotel Life. Check in was located at a different hotel just on the next street and it was all super easy. The room was spacious and in a great location, we were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. Would definitely recommend this place to other travellers
- john (8/5): Good for the money - Great location as close to Gran Via, metro stops, and parking lots.
Reception is handled by another location close by.
Room is clean, neat, and functional. There is no refrigerator or electric kettle.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - WiFi was very slow and didn’t work half the time.
Could hear rooms above flush the toilet and shower running. Very annoying
- Jackson (8/5): Good affordable choice! - Overall a lovely stay, this hotel is owned by a larger hotel around the block where all of the check-in/out and concierge services are located. The room was clean, quite, and featured a nice little balcony overlooking the street which you could stand on. The hotel also offered free "breakfast" (pre-wrapped croisants and juice/coffee downstairs) which was very nice. Hotel Life is in a great neighborhood very close to shopping, bars, restaurants, and a short walk from many sightseeing sights.
The shower was odd which as it had no curtain/door which made for a bit off a mess which we felt bad about.
Other than that we really enjoyed our stay at hotel Life.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Hotel Life - Needed a fairly priced place for a night. Area is great, room was perfect for what we needed and very clean.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Hotel incorrectly advertises that it has Air conditioning. It does not. Hotel manager who is never actually on premesis determines the room temperature for all rooms on each floor. I learned this after receiving several lies by the offsite reception when they were telling me that it was snowing in Madrid the day before and so they turned off the AC - it was not snowing previously. Mattresses are thin and uncomfortable and towels have a musty smell. Don’t be fooled by “cute” decor - the place is not very nice - especially for the 100 Eur/night price.
- Denise (8/5): Good location, not too loud - The hotel was nice and the room was comfortable. You have to check in/out at another hotel, which is close by. Location was great for walking to city center, shopping and restaurants. Subways are close by.
- Mario (8/5): Great! - Check in was a little weird (at a different location 2 blocks away).
We loved the place! Clean, well located, and the decoration was really cool.
- rameez (10/5): Quite hotel but stone throw away from all attracti - This is really nice compact hotel. Very clean, beautifully decorated and close to all attractions. Unlike other hotels I have been, this is spacious and there are some communal facilities. We were also given complimentary mini breakfast which was a good surprise. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay here on my next visit.
- Mark (8/5): Quirky! - Great location. Slightly quirky hotel. It was a surprise that breakfast was included... a bag appeared on our door each day, but really wann't worth the effort. I would stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - It was enjoyable, good location to bars and restaurants. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
- Lucia (2/5): Tight Fit - Room was too small, bed angled so we couldn't get around it easily. Had to get keys at another location, not at all convenient. Breakfast was not good at all, a plastic enclosed croissant and a juice box. Shower was horrible. The shower head kept falling off just missing my head. The whole bathroom was very small with no place to hand robes ... Place was clean enough, but location was very noisy at night. You could hear people talking and the garbage trucks at 2:00 in the morning was a treat.
