Guest Reviews
- Martina (9/5): A great place to get away from it all. - Super clean and lovely staff eager to fulfill every reauest. Great place to chill and get a sense of Fijian culture. Quite a few activihies free of charge or very reasonable, wifi throughout the house
- CrisHill (8/5): Wonderful experience - Ravita is located in a wonderful island, the snorkeling from the beach is superb and going to Blue Lagoon is a 5 minutes boat ride. The boat rides are one of the best parts, lead by the acknowledged, kind and courteous Capitan Bill, who is really the soul of the place. All the staff went far beyond our expectations to help and let us enjoy our time in Matavawalevu. And best coconut ever! Thanks for having us. Ravita is a homestay and is powered by solar power, which means that in rainy days there won't be much power in the evening/night - a generator helps, but can understandably only works for a couple of hours. While my husband was prepared for a homestay experience, having spent quite a while in Fiji before we met, for me was the first time and I was not really knowing what to expect. I have wonderful memories of our stay and I am glad we went and I would recommend to any family who wishes to meet great people and be so close to the beach
- Golden Picasso (10/5): Great place to stay and very affordable. - Great place to stay with excellent beach close by. Staff were friendly and helpful and their surprise goodbye ceremony and gift were much appreciated. I will definitely return! I liked everything.

- Karin (10/5): - I had an amazing stay at Ravita Cove! Very friendly people, great food, and everything was really clean. I especially loved the free trip to Blue Lagoon Beach with picnic.
Amazing value for money. Vinaka 🌺
- Yasmin (10/5): Perfect little tropical paradise - Not sure where to begin, the location is probably the best in the world but the lovely folk who looked after me during my stay were amazing!! Not only do you get an authentic Fijian experience away from the resort crowds it’s a hell of a lot cheaper with breakfast and lunch included (dinner is optional you just pay for any evening you want this :) ) and the food was just so great. my room was enormous and perfect for 8 days. they offer a bunch of free daily activities like boat rides to different snorkelling spots, coconut husking and even diving for sea grapes (this was a lot of fun!) i spent my birthday there and lovely Liko (i hope i spelled this right) made me a cake! They also have the most adorable kitten, big plus for me, I would 100% come back to Ravita cove ♥️ N/a

- Wolfgang (9/5): - Best food in our homestays. Very good kayak without additional costs for tours to neighbour islands. Homestay feeling. Reef was not so good for snorkeling.
- Nancy (10/5): - Ravita cove was our first stop in the Yasawas and we couldn’t have asked for a better start. We felt so welcomed and taken care of. Liku, Leni, Dee and Tui were truly lovely staff. All the food was delicious, varied and budget friendly. The school visit was great, the children were singing to us. The Village trip was a highlight, a charming place where were welcomed into their traditions with open arms.
We went to the sawa i lau caves and strongly recommend going, it was a very cool experience with chambers only accessible through an underwater tunnel, also great spots to jump from if you are a strong climber. The cove reef was gorgeous, they provided us with snorkel gear and a kayak - all for free!
The beach is long and sandy, great for a little walk.
Our room had multiple fans which was really great to ensure you have a comfortable night sleep.
Overall an experience we will look back on very fondly and hope to return one day! Can’t recommend enough.
- Marion (10/5): - Very friendly people and great actvities incl several snorkeling spots. Also room was nice and its like a private beach. Food was good too, great that we could try lovo there. And i loved the cat :-) Snorkeling is a bit far out - very nice once reached. With low tide not tried to reach as water is very far out from the bay.
- Maya (9/5): - Amazing location on a private bay, friendly staff, great amenities (snorkeling, kayaking, laundry, breakfast and lunch included), enjoyed going to church on Sunday, paid activities are worth it, it was nice talking with locals from the island and having a authentic Fijian experience!
Leckerer Schokokuchen :-) Keine Kritik gefunden.
- Elin (10/5): Absolutely the best time at Ravita! - From the moment we arrived at Ravita Cove, we felt so incredibly looked after. Our entire two-night stay was perfectly smooth and relaxing—we only wish we had booked an extra night!
The whole team made our experience unforgettable. A massive thank you to Laitte, who had our room prepared immaculately and super clean for our arrival.
And we can’t talk about Ravita Cove without praising the food! Shelly prepared the most amazing meals. It was such a delight to try some authentic, delicious Fijian dishes—the food was truly a highlight of the trip.
We also loved the activities! Over two days, we managed a few fantastic free activities, including a trip to the famous Blue Lagoon and a fun coconut oil making demonstration. We also enjoyed the traditional kava ceremony (well worth the small fee!).
Finally, a huge thank you to the rest of the wonderful staff: Captain Simi, Male, and Cara. They all contributed to making this our best holiday.
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend Ravita Cove to anyone looking for a truly special Fijian getaway. The main issues were the Wi-Fi, which was quite unreliable and often didn't work. Also, the sheer number of security cameras felt a bit excessive and was rather intimidating.
- Melissa (9/5): - They have the friendliest staff, so welcoming! The island is beautiful.
- Léa (8/5): On a adoré, on recommande !
- Achim (10/5): - Most welcoming hosts, got spoiled with outstanding food, and with everything else! A true Fijian connection, beautiful! Thanks for being who you are, that wonderful experience! I will be back! Vinaka for everything! Achim Nothing
- Boris Minevich (10/5): - Amazing staff, great location, excellent tours and snorkeling I liked everything
Rien
- Russell (10/5): Awesome homestay - Very warm welcome, made us feel right at home. Food was amazing, tasty and plentiful. Enjoyed sharing table with fellow travelers. Snorkeling was awesome, best at high tide, but walk around rocks to go at lower tide.
Sunrise and island view from lookout were a great way to start day.
Nice trip to blue lagoon for picnic lunch and swim.
Would stay again Staff not having dinner with guests
- andy (9/5): tranquil paradise. - The staff were amazing and the whole experience exceeded our expectations. A really authentic Fijian experience-a slice of paradise. We would highly recommend this place to anyone. The snorkelling on their reef is world class.
- Małgorzata (10/5): Best place to stay in the Yasawas - Clean and well managed place wifh super friendly staff! I highly recommend it to anyone willing to learn about true Fiji. And the beach… perfect! No such thing. Comparing to other places in the Yasawas - perffect place!
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Franchi (10/5): Best guesthouse in the Yasawa Islands - Our stay at this guesthouse in Matacawalevu Island was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine hospitality that made us feel like part of the family. The food was absolutely amazing, every meal was delicious and traditional.
Our room was so huge and beautifully maintained, it felt like the perfect holiday we were dreaming about. The guesthouse is perfectly located close to the beach, where we enjoyed kayaking around.
One of the best things of our stay was visiting the nearby Sawa-i-Lau caves, an easy trip from the guesthouse, and taking part in local life through a village and church visit (the experience felt really authentic).
This wasn’t just a stay, it was a real Fijian experience. We're so grateful to the wonderful family who hosted us and made everything so special. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a true experience away from everything.
- Lg978989 (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (8/5): Our stay in Ravita Cove and our contact with Vuake people was absolutely wonderful - Shirley and Laite were the ones who attended to us most closely. The meals were varied and tasty. The homestay is close to a beautiful beach for snorkeling and watching sunset.
We were taken on a hike by Dan and taken to Catholic mass on both Sundays Dan and Male. These trips gave us wonderful contact with Vuake people (some whom I had me 40 years ago) and with Ravita staff as we travelled.
Picnic at Nanua Lailai was also a great time.
We enjoyed birdwatching too We booked knowing that Ravita was a homestay. We were disappointed that there wasn't a resident family, and the staff who looked after us so well, wouldn't eat with us even when we invited them specifically to join us.
We are not royalty, we wanted to be in Fiji with Fijians, and somehow these routines kept us apart.
- Nill (10/5): Exceptional - Absolutely amazing experience — 10/10, 1000 stars!
We had the most incredible time at Ravita Cove Home Stay, and we can’t recommend it enough!
First and foremost, we want to send a huge thank you to the wonderful team who made our stay unforgettable: Meme, Laite, Shely, Male, Kare, Dan, and Captain Simi. You are all truly special, and your warmth and hospitality made us feel like part of the family from the moment we arrived.
The place itself was spotless, well-kept, and beautifully located. Every detail was thoughtful and welcoming. The food was delicious and full of local flavor.
We will truly miss this place and especially the incredible people who run it. Without hesitation, we recommend Ravita Cove Home Stay to anyone looking for an authentic, heartwarming, and memorable experience in Fiji.
Vinaka vaka levu ❤️
- Michael (9/5): Superb - Ravita Cove is a slice of snorkeling paradise. The staff were amazing - nothing was too much trouble for Sai, Leite, Marta and Marley. Every meal was different, and what was great about the Lovo night with the kava ceremony was how genuine it was. We were treated to lovo as guests, not tourists. The shared bathroom was spotless and not inconvenient. Internet access was intermittent
- Katrin (8/5): Enjoyed our short stay. Complimentary wifi, yummy food, and a daily check in with the host for planned activities. It wa - Great beach - easy to walk, great hosts, nice guided walk to the top of the hill, snorkeling near the rocks to find some beautiful fishes and corals.
- Kelly (10/5): Amazing homestay!!! - We stayed here for 6 days and absolutely loved this homestay. The friendly staff did everything they could to make our stay memorable. A lot of the activities were free and so much fun - amazing snorkeling, beach picnic, church visit, school visit. The food was great, we looked forward to every meal. Overall, a very Fijian experience and one we would recommend to everyone! Nothing!
- Laura (9/5): Superb - We had a wonderful stay at Ravita Cove. The house was clean and cheerful, friendly staff, and stunning location. The snorkelling off the beach was superb, with bright coral and an abundance of tropical fish. We liked that there were three guest rooms, so there were new people to meet at meal times, but it didn't feel at all touristy. We enjoyed the school visit, lovo and kava ceremony. If you want a place to truly unwind, away from the touristy resorts, I recommend Ravita Cove.
- Cesar (9/5): Great place to relax and enjoy nature in an affordable way - Location is great, with two beaches very close, and one that provides amazing snorkeling!
Friendly people, comfortable, bright and ventilated rooms, very clean.
Food was plenty and varied, even had a beach barbecue.
Very affordable, and great value for the money. It is isolated from everything else. Nothing t walk to other than the village, no stores available, no activities. Everything requires a boat ride. The people running the homestay are very helpful and provide boat rides to some places, including some activities like hiking.
For some reason, it seems that people in Fiji homestays do not like to cook fish - we had more chicken than fish, and even had sausage, which to me makes no sense with the ocean right in front.
- Susannah (9/5): My friend and I spent 2 nights at ravita cove and we really enjoyed it. We couldn’t recommend it enough! - The staff were amazing, sai cooked the most delicious food for us and everyone was so kind and accommodating. The coral reef off the beach from the property had the most incredible snorkelling. The bathroom is basic, but not at all bad for the price.
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional - I'm a women solo traveller and stayed 7 nights. I had an amazing time. Sai and Leite cared a lot for me and helped me with any questions. Sai cooks delicious food. Loved her banana cake. The boys Malei and boat driver picked me up from Yasawa flyer and we went to blue lagoon snorcheling and to the cave. The other guests were lovely, we had cava ceremony and played cards at night sitting together enjoying sunset at the beach. Kajaking is for free any time. The room is big and cosy and you have privacy. Showers, bathroom, fridge and WIFI is also there. Everything is well organized and guests are treated like friends. I am so happy i came here and will be back.
- Dougal (10/5): Exceptional - The guys at Ravita were amazing. The location is gorgeous and everyone goes out of their way to really make your trip special. Sai's cooking is incredible. She will spoil you every day with delightful dishes and fresh baking. I really hope that she gets that Bakery opened one day!
The activities were great, the beach picking, hiking, village tour, Snorkeling and more were so much fun and beautiful. We just had the most amazing time! Thank you all for that.
- Elke (7/5): Friendly staff, very hot in the Night. - The staff is very friendly. The Food is basic, for 30 Dollars per Person the Dinner is not worth it.Only one course, no salad, very simple.Breakfast and Lunch is included, it is good.
There is No 24 hours electricity, around 2 am, no electricity that means, no fan! The room is hot like a sauna, no breeze from the ocean, it is too far away from the ocean. We could not sleep. The walls are very thin, you hear everything.
The Beach is not nice, but there is another beach in 10 min.walk.
The wild dogs are a big problem, jumping on the tourists, barking, and they have fleas.
The offered trips are very good, to the blue Lagoon beach, to other Islands.Very nice!
The Lomo is very good too, it is for 50 Dollars per Person available.
You have to ask for a lock for your room, not every room has a lock.
If you want to have a short homestay, with friendly staff, it is good.
- Jennifer (7/5): Basic home stay - They went to a lot of trouble to do a lovo night and cava ceremony which was a lovely experience. The staff were kind. They brought us to nearby beaches and had picnics which were lovely. There was no lock for my door which made me feel not safe. The fans and electricity do not work at night and it was extremely stuffy as not near the beach. It was very difficult to get on and off boat at low tide.
- Bram (7/5): Good - Beautiful place to stay. Peaceful! Nice activities. Last two days of are stay very good meals. Friendly people. A lot of dirt on the beach. The first two days the meals are basic even for dinner where you pay 30fjd for.
- Devon (10/5): Cannot recommend Ravita enough! - Beautiful fijian property which was kept very clean. Vibrant colours were beautiful! Fantastic people, fantastic location, fantastic food! Cannot recommend enough. So much better than staying in a resort and great value! Fijian owned tourism is the best! Nothing, it exceeded my expectations.
- Kathy (7/5): Good - First time at homestay, so we didn't know what to expect. The staff were great. Loved the hammocks on beach and snorkling. Two beaches on other side of the island were lovely. Evening meals were amazing. The beach was quite weedy but they took us not far out and great snorkling. Some meals were very basic. Dogs were noisy some nights.
- Lucas (10/5): The best experience, amazing people! This is the best place I have stayed in Fiji! - Friendly staff
Welcoming
Funny
Love cava
Love Grasshopper
10/10 for everything!
- Kix. (10/5): Exceptional - What a gem. The ppl here are amazing. They had an amazing lovo dinner and little party while we were there. Caught fresh fish and crabs for dinner. The spot is stunning.
It's a home stay shared with 2-6 other people, if you like that then you're good.
Overall 5-stars. We loved it! Lots of grass would wash up on the beach making it hard to use. However they took us to blue lagoon for a picnic and snorkle which was amazing.
- Cheri (5/5): Beware of the staff rummaging through your belongings while staying there. Caught in action! - The location was good. We liked how close in proximity it was to other islands We loved the place until my daughter walked into our room and found the hostess, Sy, Kara and another employee rummaging through our bags!!!!! They ran to the adjoining room which was their staff sleeping quarters. They had gone in to put an extra bed in for a friend who was staying in our room. That DOES NOT JUSTIFY GOING THROUGH OUR PERSONAL BELONGINGS. After they left and went back into the living room for the Kava ceremony, and wouldn't look up at my daughter and I. The next day we were leaving and Sy, the hostess avoided us.... I do not know if anything is missing yet. We bought cigarettes, soft drinks for them and shared our alcohol and snacks we bought. This makes me so sad because I genuinely felt they were family. Now, I feel like we were there to be ripped off.
- Indigo (9/5): Superb -
- Rachael (10/5): Amazing property and staff! - The staff are the most incredible, caring and friendly people that we have ever met. Everyone there was communicative and ensured we were having a good time with lots of activities! Sai’s cooking was also delicious- thank you! We stayed for 8 nights and had an amazing stay at Ravita Cove. The beach outside the homestay is gorgeous and has hammocks to relax on. The free use of the kayak was great for us to get to the other islands for more snorkelling, too! Highly recommend Ravita Cove due to the lovely staff and great activities (cave trip, snorkelling, fish feeding). Thank you everyone!
- Reid (9/5): Food is amazing and staff are so accommodating. Definitely would stay again - Food was amazing and staff were lovely. We did the cave tour and was so much fun! Water is spring water so you can drink from taps and only a couple hours that electricity doesn’t work. Perfect for the price it is! Facilities are what you’d expect. It’s nothing fancy but more than good enough for a couple days. Fans in the room are life savers
- Pattamon (6/5): Homy feel but very messed up communication, big time appointing - Very peaceful and homey. The house currently hosts 3 private rooms with shared bathroom, clean and comfortable. Electricity, fan, and wifi, except when it rains very hard and solar panels are not working. Two beaches accessible from there and free snorkeling sets to use. Although the beaches may not be as beautiful as neighbouring island like Nanuya Lailai, the peace and homeyness made me go back to stay extra nights (which led to a problem that I will write in next section). The place is run by staffs since the actual owner is not living there, so it feels more like guesthouse than homestay to me. This also led to a major problem as I wanted to go back and stay more nights here. I got WhatsApp contact to directly book my additional nights (after I left to nearby island). I got very confusing info…first they said all rooms full book for the whole month, then they came back saying that the room was free and I could just go back. I confirmed and book other place with the plan that I would go back to Ravita first. A few days before my date to go back, I texted them and suddenly they told me all rooms were booked up until next month!!! They didn’t even update me if I didn’t text them. They said they will check with their boss/owner but never got back to me. My other bookings (some non-refundable) were all affected by this very unprofessional management. I was furious but reckon there is no point trusting them and just refigure the rest of my plan the best I could. Very disappointing.
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional - The food was absolutely amazing. The culinary skills of the staff are very impressive. I was made to feel extremely welcome by all and they did their best to accommodate any activities I wished to do. I don't think I've enjoyed a stay much more than Ravita. Highly recommend if you are looking for an authentic relaxed opportunity to live with a Fijian family
- Christine (9/5): A fantastic home from home - We stayed for a total of 19 nights at this lovely homestay. We absolutely loved it, a real home from home. The staff team were wonderful and we really felt part of a super family.
We were looking for a rural traditional experience and this is what we got.
Sai provided us with delicious meals.... nothing was ever too much trouble and she made every effort to meet the needs of her guests.
Kara and Laite kept the clean and tidy and filled it with smiles and lots of laughter.
Male and Simi kept us occupied with lots of trips to feed the fish, snorkeling and to see the caves. Male also is a dab hand with the guitar and it was lovely to hear him and the rest of the team singing.
We were sad to leave our new found Fijian family, we were sent on our way with hugs, flowers and lots of fond memories.
Thanks to the whole Ravita staff team for making our stay so memorable. Nothing really
- Michelle (7/5): Great value but better communication from staff would improve the experience. - Ravita Cove Homestay is a great value. Sai, the chef, listened to all of our feedback about the kind of food we liked and she made some very tasty dishes out of fresh local ingredients. Her lovo was out of this world! She also brought us to the village for a function which was fun. The new, modern shower and bathroom were also of a much higher standard than other homestays. Nancy, the owner, was very responsive when I sent questions via messaging on booking.com. It would really improve the guest experience if staff had better communication with guests and focused on guest experience. Please let staff know about the snorkeling area and walking path to the other beach - I did not know about the great snorkeling option until the day before we left!
I was also very unhappy with the conduct of the guide, we were supposed to leave at 8 AM for the caves on a sunny day (after 2-3 days of heavy rain), and he turned up at 9:30 admitting he was up late drinking kava. By the time we reached the caves it was crowded with other guests and the whole experience in my opinion was ruined. I asked to stay and snorkel on the reef there and my request was ignored. I was seriously pissed off and felt I had wasted my money on the excursion.
The day of our departure (also sunny!) I had confirmed twice with Sai that the boat captain would take us to our next destination at 12 noon. I planned to snorkel all morning. Then the staff told me at **8 AM** that the captain would take us after breakfast. No explanation, no understanding that this was just not acceptable. I was again really pissed off and put my foot down that I was not leaving before 12 noon because I had plans to enjoy snorkeling in the sun after lots of terrible weather and you can't change a time by four hours just like that. I was paying $50 for the transfer - it was not a personal favor! Fiji time is a concept that doesn't work if it only benefits the staff and harms the guest. I spent my morning snorkeling but again very angry and pissed off at the staff.
- Jie (9/5): Happy with the stay, excellent experience about local life. super good value for your money if not picky. - Very friendly staff members and super accommodating. Bathroom and bed
- Mary (8/5): Very good - Experience visiting villages and know their culture Nothing
- Linzi (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were so friendly and you instantly felt welcomed and part of the family.
The food was delicious and always plenty of it!
The private beach and hammocks were the ideal place to relax. Our Fiji night was great fun and it attracts like minded people so everyone who stayed there was so lovely!
- Bobbi (10/5): Best kept secret - This is Fiji's best kept secret. The staff are all amazing, the food, the hospitality, the snorkelling, the village trip all amazing. Friends for life. Nothing, everything was amazing about this place.
- Callum (10/5): A fantastic place to experience the real Fiji at a very reasonable price, staff are incredible. - A beautiful, quiet cove with a fantastic beach. Beautiful coral and sea life to see when snorkelling. The staff are extremely welcoming, attentive and friendly. The variety of food cooked for us was delicious and plentiful. Staying at Ravita Cove is experiencing the real Fiji, no frills.
- Jonatan (10/5): Exceptional - The best in all of the yasawa islands. Best bang for your buck nothing
- Hugh (6/5): Wouldn’t recommend - Big room. Food is horrendous. Felt a bit like prison. Can’t swim at the beach really.
- Eva (10/5): A unique local experience in the Yasawas - If you came to this page, you are looking for an experience close to the people of the Yasawa islands. You will find it here much more than at any resort. You will stay at a single house with 3 rooms, no other houses or hotels nearby with which to share the beach. The lovely people of the house will take you on many adventures, from visiting the local village where some of them live to the famous Sawa-I-Lau Caves. We even had the fortune to assist the first instalment of a yearly rugby tournament to which teams from all over and even the main island joined.
A big shout out to Chef Sai who everyday whipped up from scratch very tasty and varied meals. She's the motherly figure of the house. Many of the ingredients are locally grown in the garden or sourced from the sea nearby.
There is internet and it was workable most of the time, weaker on cloudy days, keeping in mind that you are on an island with little infrastructure. Overall, we loved our stay here. It was everything we expected and more!
- Net (10/5): Awesome experience that I would like to experience it again! - Everything
- Joanna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Parsons (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (10/5): Great value for money - Lovely place to stay - excellent value for money and great hospitality.
Food - amazing with big portions.
Lots of activities to do and most of them free.
Amazing location in a small cove, which has some really good snorkelling.
Brilliant team who all look after you and do their best to make sure you have a great stay. Room we were in was very hot! Lots of fans provided though.
- Maria (9/5): Superb - Myself and my partner had a dreamy few days at Ravita Cove.
The homestay is nestled roughly a 5-10minute walk from the local village, giving the property some privacy - which is a nice touch given the property is right b the beach, essentially giving access to only those staying at the property.
There were ample activities, most of them free of charge, that you could do.
We wanted to say a massive thank you to Sele (and Sawa too) who was absolutely brilliant at leading the activities, and teaching us all about the culture/history.
Sei evidently works really hard in the kitchen, she caters to requests if made aware to her, and the food was great.
To those booking, enjoy the prospect of 'fiji time'.
The hammocks on the beach were my personal favourite.
Vanaka and sote tale! Take bite spray !
To make the most of your experience, tell the team in advance what you would like to do activity / food wise so they can prepare (on Fiji time)
Two pup dogs could be loud, especially at night time but Simba was great.
- Denis (10/5): Homestay In Paradise Fiji - Everything especially the staff. I miss them so much
Sele, Liku, Milie, Kara, Mali, Nancy the host and Simba the dog. And many i forgot their name
Homestay at Paradise
Private island
Private beach
Kava ceremony beyond this world
Lovo Feast
Delicious breakfast, lunch & dinner
Village tour
Island exploration
School Trip visit was the highlight
My stay felt more like visiting my long distance cousin. Home feel. Going home ;(
- Ben (9/5): Superb - Sele and the other staff at Ravita are superb hosts. The cultural experience that they gave us was something we will never forget! Matacawalevu Village is a special place. The trip to the Sawa-i-Lau Caves was incredible as well, though I think we got quite lucky to go on a day where there were very few other tourists. Also, the value for money at Ravita seems to be unrivalled in the Yasawas! Connection to 'American host' was frequently mentioned, but we felt this was unnecessary, and even took away from the experience. Some of the evening meals we had were very simple - e.g. plain rice & noodles on their own.
- Michael (8/5): It was a wonderful stay with lovely people -
- Jakob (10/5): A magnificent and awesome place to stay with stunning nature and beautiful people! - We had fantastic 8 nights at Ravita cove, all of the staff were absolutely lovely and friendly, Sele, Sai, Mali, Kara, Millie and captain Simi made us feel very welcome and as part of their family/village. What a fantastic experience and opportunity to really get to know the local Fijian culture, traditions, kindness and cuisine. Sai the cook made really, really good food which varied every day and was also able to cater to the vegetarian diet of my girlfriend which is rare in homestays in Fiji, we really enjoyed the meals very much and never went to bed hungry. The room was spacious and the bed comfortable, we were thankful for the fan that was available. The offered activities were plenty, we very much enjoyed visiting the village including a church visit, multiple short trips to blue lagoon beach (so beautiful! Also freshly speared fish cooked on a fire as a picnic lunch, what a treat!), kayaking in the bay and the lovo dinner which was a real feast and very delicious. In addition the staff prepared and organised a really special and great birthday for me, with a cake (which I gladly paid for but still so cool that it could be organised), beers (which I also gladly paid for), kava, local music and a wonderful bbq which also was very good. The area is absolutely beautiful and the bay gorgeous, especially since it is really remote and there is no one else there…no streets, no cars, no other tourists (except those staying at Ravita), a absolutely stunning place to connect with nature and oneself. A heartfelt “Vinaka” to all the beautiful people working as staff there, you created an awesome and unique experience we will never forget…we hope to be able to come back again someday! Other guests that are naive and obviously come with wrong expectations, asking where the closest restaurants are (there aren’t any, duh!) and pay little to no respect to the beautiful people working there…but this is nothing Ravita HomeStay has any part in. Some hangars in the bathroom would be great and also small stool there to put your things on.
- Rowan (10/5): A top spot - This is a great homestay. It's in a good location close to a village as well as a couple of.bewutiful beaches and we felt really well looked after. We stayed at another homestay and this one was miles better. Breakfast and lunch was included and all the meals were delicious - Sai is a very good cook. Sele's village tour was great too.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sabine (9/5): Superb - We very much loved our stay at Ravita. The entire staff was doing a great job, especially Sai, our cook. She was doing amazing food and varied her meals every day.
The bay is awesome, we were the only guests and felt like living in paradise. Snorkling here was wonderful too. Kayaking was for free, we appreciated this offer.
We didn’t do the caves, not much to see we thought and too many people. No need for crowded places on Fidji.
Instead we went to the Sunday church service and loved being in contact with Fiji
Culture.
Thanks for the wonderful experience with Ravita :-)
- Tolstoy (10/5): The perfect Fiji destination. - Honestly the most lovely people I’ve ever stayed with. My partner and I arrived on a beautiful remote beach of soft golden sand, which had hammocks and a volleyball net! When the tide is in it is incredibly beautiful and it is great for snorkelling. We were set up in one of the rooms inside their home, and it was spacious. We had one other couple staying with us who were great company and we played volleyball with them and the hosts a few times. The family has the entire beach to themselves and it is so stunning. We did a day trip over to Nanuya Island and the snorkelling there was unbelievable. I would 100% return. To the hosts, thank you all for an amazing stay! Food portions were a bit too small for my liking, but my partner thought they were a perfect size. If you tend to eat big meals you should consider bringing some snacks with you. Mattress was very firm.
- Mea (8/5): Loved seeing authentic Fiji people and hospitality and great budget option if you have any adventurous palate and cruise - The staff were very nice and friendly and went out of their way to help plan our days. The room was spacious. The cava ceremony was authentic and a nice way to share Fiji culture. Great way to go to outer yasawa and not pay a fortune. Descriptions were embellished in listing. Outdoor area could be nicer to relax in as inside gets very warm. A few more chairs on beach would have been nice
- Lisa (10/5): We loved Ravita homestay, hope you do too! - We thoroughly enjoyed everything about Ravita...as soon as we boarded the tinny...and welcomed by Sele, Milly and Captain Simi (sorry if I've spelled your names wrong):
We spent 3 nights at Ravita and had a ball.
Our hosts together made our stay.
Sele is a very experienced guide who organized everything for us. He's a fun guy, he's humble and he has a great singing voice. Thank you!
Sai cooks from her heart. Her food is tasty and generous... thank you!
Milly is fun and friendly...she has a crazy giggly laugh and we enjoyed her happy personality..I'll miss you...."Aunty......Milly"
Male, thanks for taking Michael spear fishing.
Kara, loved your fish and breadfruit, and thanks for putting aloe on my sunburned legs.
Our activities:
Saturday - beach picnic, fish feeding and Michael went spear fishing with Male. I snorkelled to my heart's content on Nanuya beach.
My highlight was seeing several anemone fish and their homes, and one coral reef was 'clicking' lots and dazzlingly spectacular with its hundreds of little fishies.
Sunday - a leisurely day of rest spent with a walk to the village before attending Church.
Thank you for allowing us to visit and we enjoyed worshipping at Church. Your singing was awesome.
Monday - out in the tinny for a long ride to the Caves for a fun experience. Loved it all, especially the papaya on the way back.
Home life:
At Ravita we shared the guesthouse with 3 other guests and 2 of our hosts so there's a family feel to the stay.
At night the stars are shining bright and the frogs are out on the back lawn. Our bed was pretty hard, okay for me but not my hubby. He used the chair cushions to put on top of the mattress and this helped him sleep better.
The quilt was too warm for us... maybe a top sheet with a thin blanket would be better in this climate.
A couple of hooks and a little stool in the bathroom would be helpful to hang your clothes and put things on.
Coat hangers and hooks in the rooms would be helpful.
- Yuen (10/5): Calm and peaceful environment with warm staff and amazing food - We had a lovely stay at Ravita cove. The island is peaceful and quiet with a lovely beach at the front. The room was big and spacious. Seleh and his team provided an amazing experience of the island and suggested various activities for us to partake in. The chef Sy provided us with really yummy meals (both fijian and non-fijian) and fed us like family (she even remembered our enjoyment of her fijian babakaus, making them for us on our last day there). We enjoyed our various conversations with different staff but also enjoyed our quiet time around the island. We wished we could've stayed longer for lovo dinner night, but we unfortunately had to go. We look forward to visiting in the future 🙂 It was a little hot in the room as the fan was a bit far away. However, the staff were helpful and accomodating, helping to make our experience better. Overall, it was a simple and amazing experience.
- Leif (9/5): Superb -
- Zhiqiang (10/5): Perfect - Everything was perfect, food and service, the island was peaceful, the room was big and comfortable, I enjoyed my stay here. nothing
- Luck (7/5): Good - Lovely breeze through out the day. All staff were friendly and helpful. We love this place because of the peaceful and relaxing. The bed mattress was too thin I can feel the wire underneath the mattress every time I moved.
- Ronda (10/5): Exceptional - I stayed for 7 nights and loved my time here! I was welcomed with open arms and felt at home right from the beginning. Lots of activities like kayaking, visiting the nearby village, snorkling and having a traditional Fijian dinner ("Lovo") are offered. The beach is beautiful with stunning sunsets that can be enjoyed from one of the hammocks. I also really enjoyed sharing the meals with the other guests, which added to the homely vibe of the place. The bed was a bit hard in my opinion, but I guess that's subjective.
- Eiko (10/5): Honest home - Very cosy homestay warm welcome feeding.
It was inexpensive but well cared. In the middle of the front beach, we found beautiful corals 🪸 and many colourful fish. Room was quite big and comfortable. Nothing, all good.
- Mariana (7/5): Overall is a nice experience. The staff is great and kind. the food needs to be upgrade. Is better to charge a little bi - The location is great. You have a basically a private beach The bed is very uncomfortable.
- Hindelang (10/5): Exceptional - We had such a great time staying at Ravita cove Homestay.
The house was always clean, the food amazing and the activities great. We have done a trip to the cave, Picknick at blue lagoon and snorkelling directly in front of the house.
It was so nice to be part of their family. Thank you for letting us live in your house with you!
- Dennis (10/5): Exceptional - a homely stay, everyone at Ravita was more than friendly and helpful, the place is a little, private haven for those who might be tired of the resort routines. You do need to be open to new people as guests of the homestay spend much time together for both meals and activities.
- Chris (10/5): We absolutely loved our stay at Ravita and highly recomend to all - There was so much to like. Cookie the host was so friendly and welcoming.
The food was fabulous with great variety and plentiful amounts.
The location on a private beach with amazing snorkeling was incredible and Cookie also organized a range of trips and activities which was great. We loved the visit to the school as well as being privileged to attend a church service in the local village.
This was the ultimate experience for us of having an amzing relaxed beach side adventure whilst being given some insight into day-to-day Fijian life in that area.
Could not have rated our experience more highly. Note this isnt a dislike but need to understand that wifi and electricity can be varied but need to understand that this is a homestay and respect that this is the reality of day to day living in this space and there are elements of this that we found highly refreshing to not be so reliant on these elements.
- Karoline (10/5): Exceptional - A big bedroom with private exit. Heaps of activities, they are the kindest people thy offers a lot of fun activities for free!! The food was delicious and you get bottled water<3
Love love loved this stay!
- Jocelyn (10/5): Loved my stay and will be returning soon. - As a home stay it was the absolute best. I stayed for a month. Private sheltered beach, great reef, great food, great hammock, free internet, beautiful gardens and the staff were amazing! Love you Kuki, Milli, Male, Captain Simi and Simba (the dog). Guests need to understand that this is a home stay and not a resort. You are in a home so you are sharing the shower (cold water only) and toilet with other guests (maximum of 4) and the live-in staff (2).
- Matthew (9/5): Super relaxing, incredible undiscovered island experience - Incredible homestay. Must be aware that this is a local home (with local amenities), not a hotel or a hostel. With that said, it is an extremely nice home, by far the nicest home stay we've seen in Fiji! Private house on a private beach, looking out to pure ocean around the corner and sheltered from the busy lagoon . Kuki is an awesome host! Everything he did was from the heart, including the food he made, the songs he sang, and everything he did to make us comfortable! We had electricity and even generally reliable Internet. Bed was clean and comfortable. Super convenient to get to from the ferry (boat transfer is just a few minutes), you won't be disappointed! This homestay has two guest rooms that share a single washroom.
- Ramiro (9/5): Our stay was spectacular, good food, the host and their staff are an excellent team without a doubt. We are very gratefu - The food was amazing, beautiful garden
- Peppa (10/5): Great place with nice people - I really enjoyed my stay at Ravita and had a lot of special and beautiful moments during a picnic at a private beach, snorkeling with amazing corals, great sunsets and getting to know the authentic local life. Kuki is a hard working but absolute lovely person who always made sure that you get the best experience. But often he seems to work quite too much. And they are offering a lot of activities which is great.
- Kathryn (10/5): We can’t wait to visit our Fiji family again! - Paradise found!! Our family spent 4 nights at Ravita Cove with 2 adults & 2 children and had the most unforgettable experience. I wasn’t sure what to expect when I booked it, but the reviews and location were good so I went for it. They came with their boat and picked us up from the Yasawa Flyer and brought us “home”. The beautiful home is on its own private beach- the most perfect beach - and set just a few feet away. We had 2 bedrooms and shared the bathroom with the host, Kuki. Kuki goes above and beyond to spoil his guests- 3 delicious meals prepared for us daily, all the daily activities are planned out and the details shared with us the day before so we now what time to be ready and what to bring. These rural islands work on the tide, so we would leave every morning around 9am for activities and be back by 1 pm before low tide so that we could dock. You are forced to relax in the afternoons and it was glorious. Some of the activities they took us to were snorkeling at Blue Lagoon, a school and village visit, and the Sawa-i-Lau caves. We also loved snorkeling and rock climbing at our own private Ravita Cove. On our last night, they threw a big Lovo feast with a kava ceremony. They treated us like family and it was more beautiful and special than I could have ever imagined. The cold water only shower was a surprise! We got used to it but I wish I had thought to pack some dry shampoo.
- Chloe (8/5): Fabulous team to experience a real Fiji homestay - Really comfortable stay and staff going out of their way to ensure your stay is comfortable and relaxing. Spacious room with wifi and all day power was a great bonus. $35fjd for 3 meals a day was very reasonable compared to other places in Fiji. Good variety and quantity of food (you won’t go hungry!) Only two rooms so very quiet but option to have dinner with guests in the other room to socialise so I met some great people from all over Europe. Traditional Fiji dinner/ buffet in the beach was a highlight and they even build a new outdoor seating area so we were the first guests to enjoy this!
Kuki and Male are very hard working. Great spot for watching the sunset. Free laundry service was a nice extra. Accessible to blue lagoon/ good spots for snorkelling. Wifi out for the first few nights (although this was across the island so not just at this honestly).
More coordination needed on available activities as quiet spot so not a huge amount to do unless prearranged with staff. Bathroom could have been cleaner/ in need of some updating.
