• Jennifer (9/5): I would definitely recommend this place to stay for families. Great kitchen & plenty of beds & seating - Fully equipped kitchen, plenty of room, comfortable bed Nothing although a comfortable outdoor chair 😉 & a sign on the actual building would be great.
• Carrie (10/5): If you are after a home away from home this is the one! Location was fantastic - close enough a drive to town of Kingsco - It felt like a home away from home. Everything you need is there. The space was very comfortable and homey. Beds were very comfortable.
• Les (7/5): Place is cute. Could be really exceptional if….. - Fully stocked. Good layout. Cute place. They even had board games! They had some dead cats hanging at the entrance to the driveway which may be normal in AU but we found it quite off-putting. So much so I am not sure we would return. Also there was a horse in an enclosure which we felt may be let’s say not cared for to our standard (as well as dogs in a cage which we didn’t like to see)

• Vishnu (7/5): Good - Spacious and clean. Full kitchen. Beds could be more comfortable. Shower area might need an upgrade. The bedrooms do not have Aircon which might be ok for most of the year. . One of the bedrooms have a ceiling fan but that was noisy to the point we couldn't use it.

• R (10/5): Lovely and Quiet Farmstay - Ronald's Roost is a lovely farmhouse. We love the peace and quiet and yet so conveniently located to Kingscote which is a short drive away. The cottage is lovely and spacious with nice bedrooms and a well-equipped kitchen. Host is prompt in their communications and gave very specific instructions on check-in. The drive into the farmhouse is along an unsealed road and the entrance to the apartment was not obvious. Perhaps a sign to point to the entrance would be helpful. Still, it is a great apartment.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm hospitality and a peaceful, charming atmosphere that instantly made us feel at home. The farm is beautifully maintained, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside, and it's the perfect escape for anyone looking to unwind and reconnect with nature. The accommodation was cozy, clean, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Waking up to the sound of birds and the fresh country air was a treat. We particularly loved interacting with the farm animals—it was such a unique experience, especially for the kids! Ronald was an excellent host, providing helpful local tips and even showing us around the farm. The location is great too—just a short drive to some of the island’s best attractions, including breathtaking beaches and wildlife reserves. We enjoyed exploring during the day and relaxing by the fire at night. Overall, Ronald's Roost is a hidden gem on Kangaroo Island, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful and authentic farmstay experience. We’ll definitely be back! The only minor issue was that the water pressure in the shower was a bit slow, but it didn’t take away from our overall experience.

We enjoyed the quiet and it was only a short drive to Emu Bay and the Emu Bay lavender farm. Highly recommended for a family stay.
