- Rebecca (9/5): Beautiful views and great position, we enjoyed an inviting, comfortable and hospitable stay - Perfect location, wonderfully private, and the property catered to all our needs very well. We enjoyed the amenities of the local area, including some great local eateries as suggested. Delightful to relax with such a breath-taking view. Through no fault of the host, some wild weather made one of the nights of our stay noisy in the front bedroom (the occupant of the other bedroom slept like a log!) One or two cleaning issues had been overlooked, but were easy to resolve.
- Michele (4/5): - The view was lovely and location perfect for us. BBQ was filthy. We couldn’t use it. Cobwebs around the outside cupboards. The front garden was overgrown with weeds and very untidy. The beds were lumpy and uncomfortable. Lots of cleaning that was missed. Very overpriced for what it was.
- Lara (5/5): Nice but soured - The view was great. However the windows, glass sliding doors (had dead bugs in the tracking) and glass balustrade on the balcony were not clean this did imped on the view.
The location is also good as you are close to Largs Bay and Semaphore. It was our 3rd stay in the Largs Bay area. Highly recommend the Largs Bay Hotel - food and staff wonderful. The property is advertised as having a kitchen (in Host information section it states a fully equipped kitchen), however we would not call a microwave and 2 hotplates a kitchen let alone fully equipped. In addition to this the cupboards storing dishes, cups and glasses ect were very high and it was dangerous to get things down from them.
On Bookings.com page for the property it states a private entrance however it didn't mention that in this entrance is a door the owner can access the apartment from. Further to this in the Host Information it states 'we live close by' NOT we live on the lower floor. Privacy???
When looking at the main search page for the property it has the 'children and bed policy' stating that children are not allowed. One would assume from this that children are not allowed, however it is NOT stated that they cannot visit. In the booking review it sums up house rules and they are as follows - no smoking, no parties/events, no pets allowed. No mention of children visiting the property. Clearly this needs to be stated very clearly. The owner took issue with my husband and I as we had our 3 grandchildren (age 8, 14 and 17 years old) visit us during our stay. The owner stopped my husband in the street to tell him that children were not allowed at the property and also contacted Bookings.com to put in a complaint about us. We have been using Booking.com to book properties in a number of countries over the past 10 years and NEVER once had a complaint put in about us. To be clear the children arrived mid morning and on 2 of the 4 visits were gone by about 2pm and the other 2 visits arrived about lunch time and left shortly after dinner (one night we had dinner at Semaphore). During their visits they were not in the house all the time as the beach and park are across the road. We also went shopping and played golf. This was a sour note on our visit as we live in Sydney and do not get to see our grandchildren very often.
