Kitchen well stocked with utensils... Communication with lady to assist very good. Did not like that subsequent to booking.com confirmation I was sent a link and told that my booking could not be confirmed without a picture of my passport and picture of my credit card (only accepted apparently...) and all other personal details had to be provided along with a £150 deposit fee. Unlike many, this deposit fee was returned within a week of my departure. The building does not have a 'decorative' elevator. It is clear that while the interior seems to be cleaned once or twice per week, there is no money being spent on maintenance at all, the building needs an update at the least and the lift has simply been left not working. In the room itself, no air-con and several windows did not / could not be opened. I would hate to be here in any heat waves or mid-summer. One side of shower door broken (off rails); oven hood not working (couldn't open properly either); oven not working. At first I was pleasantly surprised by furniture then realised bed v small (I am 178cm and feet hung off end); wardrobe units and hanging rails inside them not to be trusted; 'dining table' simply a plate of glass on top of and unattached to the 4 'legs' of the table. As long as you don't mind traffic noise, you'd be able to sleep with the windows open. If such noise disturbs you, it's going to be a problem. To call the room a 'penthouse' is a serious stretch and the 'view' is simply over the commercial space at the back (noisy when groups of teenagers gather sometimes) and rooftops of other buildings. Cleaners arrived before check out time and were determined to enter despite my having to get out of the shower and being wrapped in a towel to answer the door! I had to be very rude and simply close the door in their faces and lock it from the inside! If I had paid the supposed full amount for this 'penthouse' I would absolutely be dealing with booking.com to get a refund.
