- NGUYEN (9/5): More than home away from home - The view was spectacular. The location to the beaches. The facilities. The beds were very comfortable. We stayed 7 nights, and the kids wanted to stay longer. Linen wasn't included, and the internet's signal was not good if you had to work online.
- Deborah (8/5): A great, comfortable and quiet space to visit with right nature on your doorstep. Love Venus Bay! - The location was great, high up in the trees, quiet and very comfortable. The games cupboard was great too. And the kitchen well appointed.
We had 'Chocolate' the wombat visiting us and resident magpies too. The nearby Van Cleef Reserve was a real highlight where we saw wombats, echidna's and lots of birds. It would have been good if some firewood was provided.
And wifi given the mobile coverage is a bit sketchy.
- Jade (5/5): Always read the whole description of the listing to make sure it aligns with you expectations. - The location was lovely. The view looked over other homes and bushland. You could hear the ocean from the property and it was a 15min walk to the beach. The description of the property did not include the notice (inside on the kitchen wall) to either boil the water before using or to buy water for consumption. The kitchen was neat and clean, however it would need a deep clean to remove the "ick" factor of grimy cupboard surfaces. We had to clean the crockery, glassware and other utensils prior to using as some had obvious dried food on them. We were also asked to place the rubbish bins out on the street after our stay, a request that I was surprised at (we did place the bins out) This house is obviously someone's holiday home, and it is a comfortable place to stay, however when you pay to go on a holiday you want to have a relaxing experience free of "little surprises" such as the drinking water notice. I wouldn't tell people to not visit this property, I would just suggest the guest either understands completely what they are receiving for the tariff charged or the owner invests in a thorough deep clean of the residence.
- Stephen (8/5): Relaxing holiday - We liked very much the beaches at Venus Bay .
We liked the quiet place, the views from the balcony. The house was well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable holiday.
Thank you! We didn't liked the real estate agent telling us few times (before and after trip) to clean after ourselves. I've been told ones,Thank you, I understand. I am not a child to be reminded to keep the place as I found it.
- Gavin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danny (3/5): Frustrating - Location and well Stocked kitchen Being forced to deal with two third parties and provide valuable ID information to ray white and another third party so that their employees have complete Carte Blanche to use my passport and card details for their own nefarious purposes.
The Staff at ray white were awful arrogant condescending and unhelpful and love to insult your intelligence by telling to they hold this info as security. Rubbish. Booking.Com hold all that.
Five times I rang them during business hours and 4 times it wasn't answered. They were condescending and uppity. Booking.Com have all my personal info ray white and others including the host don't need it. Even more galling after uploading personal and sensitive info was that I was then asked to produce that ID when you are forced to go to a third party office to get they keys. Why do they need to see it after it's been uploaded??? If I didn't bring this "just in case" would they have refused to give me the key after I had already uploaded and paid in full.
It's madness that you also have to provide your own linen it's not a school camp. The dullest thing is the host has a lockbox on site and references it on their welcome info at the property. Why on eatery is there a completely irrelevant middle man and you are forced to upload sensitive info plus go out if your way to get and rerun keys when there is a lockbox on site.
The owner is silly for engaging a completely pointless third party. No need for passports and no need to collect keys. Use the lockbox!!!
