Guest Reviews
- Roland (10/5): Everything can be arranged for .. which makes your stay easy and relaxed … take a deep breath and enjoy - A home away from home .. second time here
- Lazar Lashev (8/5): - Staff were very helpful and arranged everything I needed in terms of visiting local sites in Luxor and even my transfer to Aswan. That's realistically all you need for a pleasant stay in Luxor, so I can definitely recommend this guest house. There are some good restaurants within walking distance. The house is on a quiet street, by which I mean no honking all night. Room was clean. Last but not least excellent value for money. What you get is a pretty basic room with basic furniture and facilities. This is not a place where you'd think "oh they thought about every little detail". Frankly I don't understand how most hotels and guest houses in Luxor have 9+ ratings on Booking, this is completely unrealistic for any location I've visited and I can advise people to ignore ratings and pay more attention to photos and reviews.
- Ineke (10/5): Fantastisch verblijf. - Gezellige familie sfeer. Veel extra’s te boeken om de bezienswaardigheden te boeken
- ten Cate (10/5): Incredible place with great hospitality - Rose Guest House is an incredible place to stay with great hospitality. Location is super with all the archeological sites on walking or biking distance. The owner Gabalawy helps you with everything you need. Taxi, bike, transfer, you name it and he can arrange it for you. I hired a bike for three days and visited Hatsepsut tempel, Deir-el-Medina and more. The food is great and the garden is a lovely place to sit and relax with a lot of trees and birds. This place really is a home away from home. As soon as you enter this place the only thing you have to do is relax and enjoy!
- Krzysztof (10/5): - Super
- Nils (10/5): Amazing guest house - I spent 3 nights and was super happy. The owner is a super likeable and friendly person who also makes delicious breakfast. The room was very big and I had everything I needed. I strongly recommend to everybody to spend your stay here!
- Mikus (9/5): Luxor with a local authentic vibe - This is a small guest houses right by Ramses II. Very much like staying in a small town. Very calm and peaceful The air conditioning only goes to 20 degrees and it was hot that day
- ANIRBAN (10/5): -
- ANIRBAN (10/5): - Gahlan is a very very responsible person.. He is a very good person..he is in charge of taking care of the entire guests and property.. he is a one man army with a wonderful heart.. we stayed 2 days and it will always be in our heart.. The owner is also helpful.. Property is awesome with the valley of queens and habu temple visible from the property only.. Gahlan explained the full history of the place.. excellent experience.. Hot air balloon arrangement was done from the property only.. wonderful experience. Nothing.. All Ok
- Maricel (10/5): Nice place to stay with very accommodating staff and clean space! - Helpful staff and big room! The shower handles got stuck and need to fix I guess.
- Anh (10/5): Exceptional - Nice hostel in a peaceful village near Valley of the Queens. Polite and respectful host.Thank.
- Nicolas (9/5): Superb - very nice and quiet location, the owner was very helpful when we came the place lacks a bit of caring when it comes to details, ex. the room number was written with a black marker, the door knob was almost falling.
- Dirk (8/5): Very good - * conveniently located, close to the Medinet Habu temple and in general very centrally and closeby (including Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut temple) all different other temples on the West Bank of Luxor
* clean and spacious rooms
* friendly owner, always ready to help you out in case something is needed * price of dinner was a bit on the expensive side (400 EGP), even though the food was very delicious. However if you are a budget savvy traveler, know that there are 2-3 local restaurants in the very near surroundings (just check Google Maps) where you can have equally good and delicious food for even not half the price per person.
- Tuuli (10/5): Exceptional - The whole stay was really good. The room was good value for the money. We never joined the proper breakfast, but despite our very early mornings (and ramadan approaching its end) they always prepared a coffee and yoghurt with fresh fruit and even omelettes if we wanted. The location is perfect for visiting the west bank on bicycles (there is a nice bike rental very close to the guest house), or the staff can help with getting local drivers, too... We split our stay in Hurgada between east and west bank, and even after moving to the east, we still returned to have delicious dinner and to spend another cozy evening at the Rose Guesthouse :) Jabalawi (the guy running the place) and his brother are absolutely great: interesting discussions, good laughs and so much knowledge and good tips for travels. Hopefully we'll see you soon again!
- Mariza (10/5): A warm, friendly environment - Gamal runs an outstanding operation. He welcomes you, make sure you are comfortable, discuss life in general, knows everyone and can arrange everything that you need (from transportation to excursions, from dinner to appointments at the beauty salon 🙂, feel free to ask for help anytime) . His staff, all family and/or friends are as kind and welcoming.
The breakfast is fresh, tasty and plentiful.
The garden area is a peaceful Oasis. The neighborhood is very quiet and just a short walk will take you to a grocery store, a fruit stall and some restaurants.
In summary, you get this cozy feeling of living like a local .
I had the opportunity to meet other guests that were repeat visitors and would not stay anywhere else.
He owns another property in another equally attractive location that soon will be ready to be booked. I mention this because it shows the entrepreneur spirit mixed with an eximious quality of hospitality.
- Tania (9/5): Fantastic location and welcoming owner - Very basic accommodation but what makes this place special is the location and the owner. Gabal went out his way to help us. Arranged a fantastic driver to take us around and even made a dinner for us one night. Beautiful garden setting in a peaceful neighborhood away from the noise. Highly recommended.
- Sylwia (9/5): Superb -
- Ayaka (8/5): Owner very helpful, fair to comfortable - I could keep in frequent contact with the owner. They can suggest various tours. Rooms are clean. A 5-minute walk to the Temple of Ammon which I can really recommend! When I stayed here, Internet was only available in the lobby. Hot showers worked fine, but the water pressure was quite weak.
Drivers often get lost trying to find this guesthouse, so you need to remember the proper directions. It takes 30 minutes by car from this guesthouse to the Temple of Karnak.
- Siobhan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abinash (10/5): Exceptional - As an Indian citizen, I was thoroughly impressed with my stay. The room, location, price, and especially the staff exceeded my expectations. The staff were extremely polite and well-behaved, making my experience even more pleasant. Everything I needed was readily available. They make food for the guests. Which i like the most. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the area. If I ever return to Egypt, I will definitely choose to stay here again.
- Shkar (9/5): Superb -
- Tomask. (4/5): Disappointing - Owner and staff and food.
Cheap price only 15 euro Old fashioned room and bathroom.
- Ruomeng (10/5): Exceptional - The owner Jabu (not sure if I spell correctly) is very nice and helpful! We enjoy staying there. Watching hot balloons flying above us while enjoying breakfast was so pleasant. Even though it is located in a village and requires 10 minutes walk, it didn't matter at all. We love waking along the countryside road and it's very safe even at night. mosquitoes
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional - I had the pleasure of staying at this incredible guest house, and it was an experience I’ll never forget. From the moment I arrived, Gaba’s warm and friendly welcome set the tone for a fantastic stay. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, making me feel truly valued as a guest. All staff were extremely friendly and welcoming.
The rooms were immaculate—spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. Every detail was considered to create a relaxing environment. The food was equally impressive, which had me looking forward to every meal.
What really stood out was Gaba’s dedication to making my stay as seamless and enjoyable as possible. He personally organised all my activities and transportation, saving me time and effort while ensuring everything ran smoothly. His local knowledge and attention to detail were invaluable.
This guesthouse is a gem, offering a perfect combination of comfort, convenience, and exceptional hospitality. I can’t recommend it enough and will definitely be returning!
- Natalia (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect 🤩 N/A
- Cristina (8/5): Very good -
- Simran (9/5): Great property, with old Egypt charm, close to the valley, the host Jabar is great. Wonderful breakfast served. - Location, comfort and great Hospitality. Nothing
- Henry (10/5): Quiet and peaceful place. - It’s located in a quiet section of the West Bank with view of the mountain and early morning balloons flying above.
The owner is a great host and is always available. They provide nice breakfast, and dinner tastes great. Required prearranged transportation due to its location.
- Alon (10/5): By far the best stay I’ve had in Egypt and possibly the best B&B experience in all my travels. You will feel taken c - Everything! Clean, good breakfast, hot water (don’t take a 30 minute shower though, this is still Egypt), attentive and friendly staff, interesting other guests, competitive rates, strategic location, good views. It’s not so easy to get to Luxor city, but it’s very close to most of the touristic sites, so if you want to have easy access to Luxor city maybe it’s not the right place for you. But there are stores nearby and the staff takes care of you and will get you a taxi if you do need to go to Luxor city so it’s not like you’re in the middle of nowhere.
- Himanshu (10/5): Abdu made us feel comfortable. The place is a new one but with an old warmth of the Nubian culture. Thanks for our stay - Pleasant owner & his younger brother. Made us feel like home. Nothing that we think of.
- Igor (8/5): Green calm place in hectik city - Calm green place away from cars and people Broken toilet and broken electricity. Manager forgot we are leaving in the morning and asked to make breakfast before we leave.
- Oleg (9/5): Superb - Having traveled through the depths of Egypt for a month and stayed here for 2 nights, I can say for sure that this is an excellent hotel or guest house for its price. Clean, quiet, fans on the ceiling instead of stupid air conditioners blowing all night right on the traveler's head (hello to a sore throat in the morning!), a friendly hospitable host, very-very tasty food for dinner - what more could you want? I am very satisfied and recommend it.
- Aleena (10/5): Great location and gracious hosts - Great location, close to town but still a very peaceful and quiet environment. Hosts were very attentive and welcoming. Great value for solid housing and home cooked meals!
- Agnes (10/5): Quiet and charming environment, affordable price, good food. - Gaba is a wonderful host, making the best to make one’s stay pleasant. He served very good lunch and breakfast, even gave me a ride on his motorbike when I was wandering in the neighborhood. :) too bad that I could not stay longer, when visiting next time I will for sure book with him!
- Kézié (7/5): Good -
- Angeliki (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place, peaceful and very near to Habo temple. Good breakfast. Clean and spacious room full of light. Great view from the rooftop. With a nice garden we're birds sing. The owner can even fix your glasses if they are broken! I enjoyed my stay, I would definitely go back again
- Raeph (10/5): Incredible place - The staff was amazing. We received fantastic service and great value for money. The food they prepared was also incredible. we had delicious home made food that we ate with the owner of the hotel. what a place! I can't recommend the place enough. the hotel is also close to many of the important sites. I'm talking walking distance or a short bike ride. Nothing. everything was amazing.
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nele (10/5): Beautiful peaceful Nubian guesthouse - Lovely peaceful guesthouse, which feels like home away from home. The owner goes above and beyond to provide amazing service at a low price with delicious breakfast. We also ordered dinner, and it was a nutritious homemade meal with a vegetarian option available. We were allowed to check in early in the morning and check out at midday with our breakfast served then. I highly recommend it to anyone as close to Valley of Kings on West Bank. True Nubian hospitality! That we didn't have time to stay longer.
- Harish (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about the rose guest house was great. From breakfast to dinner, services offered, simple yet clean accommodation. Worth every penny!!! NA
- Lucas (10/5): Exceptional - The level of humanity of these guys is huge. I made a reservation for my father and he got lost in the city but the personnel of the hotel spent hours looking for him till they found him and gave him a ride to the hotel. They're really kind people.
- Santiago (1/5): Bad - Horrible Experience and Aggressive Staff at Rose guest house
My stay at Rose guest house was a nightmare. From the moment I arrived, I encountered unsanitary conditions that made it impossible to sleep. The mattress was infested with mites, the bathroom was extremely filthy, and the fan made a deafening noise like a truck engine, which ruined my sleep.
The worst part was the staff’s behavior. When I reported that I couldn’t sleep due to the terrible conditions in the room, the staff responded in an extremely aggressive manner. Not only were they unsympathetic, but they locked me in the room. The manager even went so far as to push and hit me when I tried to resolve the situation.
Fortunately, I managed to escape from that terrifying situation. This experience was not only unpleasant but downright dangerous. I would not recommend this hotel under any circumstances and hope other travelers can avoid going through something similar.
**I will never return to this place.**
- Simon (5/5): Passable -
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect, the host is so kind and attentive, the guest house was located near a temple, and the host makes everything easier for you. The room was big and had everything you need. Finally it was so nice to chill in the cute terrace they have and the food was amazing! Thanks again, we will come back soon
- Dániel (9/5): Superb - Best guesthouse in all of Egypt, a garden with perfect ambiance, delicious breakfast, next to Medinet Habu, very quiet.
Absolutely recommend! nothing
- Nenad (9/5): Excellent! - We are extremely satisfied.
The accommodation is really good and all the people we met were kind and helpful.
We had a perfect vacation in Egypt thanks to staying in this accommodation.
Breakfast was fantastic and all recommendations for this place!
- Ji (10/5): Nice to stay - Food is good, nice view top roof. My room with very old air condition, too noisy
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional - I had an enjoyable experience at Rose Guest House. The host was exceptionally accommodating and assisted me in arranging various transportation and attractions at reasonable rates, including transport to Aswan from luxur by car, as well as a visit to Abu Simbel.
The food served at Rose was lovely as well.
Rose Guest House gets a 10/10!
- Albane (10/5): Thank you for the human experience I had - Everything ! This place is amazing and Gabba is simply great, very relax and cosy place with amazing people passing by from the village. I definitely recommend if you want to have a real Egyptian experience Nothing ! It’s all great
- Maria (10/5): Kudos to this Gues House , to the owner & his staffs, we are delighted by your services. - Very homey vibes, very kind Owner plus all his staffs. If ever I will come back to Luxor, I will definitely stay again here. Very budget friendly. Nothing
- Fabian (10/5): Brilliant choice, highly recommended. - Staff is absolutely superb. Very knowledgeable about the area, well-connected for trips/activities, and absolutely willing to help in every situation. Also just very nice people in general.
Rooms are older but very clean and great value for money. Location is very quiet, away from the city noise. Location is good as a basis for trips (which need to be done by car anyway) but is somewhat removed from the main city. That's not a negative, especially if one prefers the quiet, but something to consider.
- Luis (10/5): The perfect place for staying in Luxor - It was our best stay in Egypt so far. It is a beautiful place near the death valleys and many great temples. The personal is very friendly, they even cooked for us when we arrived at 11pm. The dinner by the way is the best local food we had in Egypt, simply delicious! They offer good prices for transportation, laundry and everything. If you go to Aswan afterwards and Abu Simbel, just ask the owner Yabba, he knows someone for a tour and you will pay way less then if you book it directly in Aswan. Also the hot air balloon is quite cheap if you book it with the homestay. Everything was just perfect, thank you very much again! Everything was great
- Tobias (9/5): Superb - Great atmosphere, courtyard and terrace. It’s a perfect place to stay outside the busyness of Luxor, the surroundings are beautiful and transportation everywhere is easy. The host is great and very helpful.
- Jan (10/5): Really great stay at West Bank - Very nice owner, quiet location, garden you can chill (and eat), provided food is great (you can order dinner as there are no other options around and it's really local and tasty). It's possible to manage trips (you might need a car to get around) and also we got managed next journey for affordable price. Payment by card possible, owner speaks good English and is really helpful. He wants that customers feel like at home.
- Evan (10/5): Really nice owner and staff. Location is convenient to sites and outside of the hectic center. -
- Roland (9/5): Superb -
- Naoum (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ganesh (10/5): Amazing experience with Rural and peaceful area of Luxor - An amazing experience of staying in rural area of Luxor! Jabal provided us with amazing breakfast which was included in the stay. Lunch and dinner at cheaper prices. The food was very fresh and tasty! He also helped us with the Luxor tour arrangement and also hot air balloon booking! All the staff members were super nice! We were very much satisfied by our stay here! The Habu temple was close by. Nothing
- Shahrul (8/5): Great place far away from the busy of the city - The owner is very nice. We can ask about anything. He can also book the hot air balloon for us, sadly we can't go on the hot air balloon because of the wind.
They are even willing to cook for 9 of us on 9.00PM . Their cooks were also really delicious.
The owner has lots of chilli trees that are really spicy. He even let us pick them all for my mother because he knows that we asian love it spicy.
We dont have much activity in luxor but luckily we stay in this hotel.
The food really makes us enjoy our short time there.
Thank you Jabr and sons.
From Malaysia.
- Morillot (10/5): Very nice stay with great staff who helps you optimize your Luxor journey - Very friendly and accommodating staff
Good view on the Habou temple.
Meals were really nice as well Beds were not the best but good for money value
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional - The owner was so lovely. And I love that it was a bit out of the main city in a quite area, but close enough to get into down town Luxor
- Scott (10/5): Great location and price - Fantastic stay fellt more like staying with friends than at a hotel. Host booked us a taxi for the day to see where we wanted, then drop us at the airport.
If offered a pick up from the bus or airport, take it as the taxis waiting will charge a fortune.
Looking forward to going back again It was all good. Some glasses in the room would have been nice.
- N (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely quiet place around Luxor, the host was very friendly. Nice breakfast
- Fei (9/5): Superb - The staff and the owner are very friendly and helpful. The location of the guest house is tricky. It is close to the Habo City, but it is hidden behind the main road and difficult to locate for taxi drivers. However, the staff kindly helped the driver locate the guest house. The guest house lacks some basic facility. Yet it is a guest house, not a hotel. It is not a problem for me.
- Oğuz (10/5): Exceptional - Great family, great hostel.
- Basiony (9/5): Superb - The garden is quiet and nice, and breakfast and dinner are delicious
- Richard (10/5): Your Choice. Peace or Chaos? You Will Want to Stay Here. Read on... - The east bank of Luxor (east side of the Nile is chaos. Constant horn beeping, congested streets with no sidewalks, choking pollution, hassles and hustles.
The Rose Guest House, also known as "pharaonic rose" on Google Maps is the opposite. A very peaceful location with the clip clop of horse and donkey hoofs, clean air, gentle people and close to the important historic sites in Luxor. Valley of the Kings, etc are all within walking distance or a short taxi ride. The hotel is completely safe with an honest and trustworthy owner and staff.
The rooms are clean and basic. Nothing fancy but comfortable at a great price.
The owner had a taxi pick me up at the airport at a fair price which was a big help.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel. I felt so fortunate that I decided to stay here for 10 nights compared to the chaos of the east bank. Yes, Karnak and the Luxor Temple are in the east bank but it's best to take a short taxi ride there from the west bank (pharaonic rose hotel) and avoid the tension of getting a hotel on the east bank. Can't think of anything I didn't like. The location is excellent, the people super nice and it was a great value.
- Chantal (10/5): do not hesitate to book over there , you'll love it ! - everything ; the kindness of the owner and the staff, their availability for us.
regarding the rooms, they have all what ones need ; the beds are comfortable and the bathroom met our needs.
food : the owner cooks 'with love' ; everybody eats the same and it's always excellent ! ask whatever you want and you'll get it.
The fact that you meet a lot of people from different cultures , origins is great
They all care about all what you need and make your dreams come true :-) everything was perfect
- Erna (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hassan (9/5): Located right between the green fields of the modern Egyptians and the desert hills of the Ancient Egyptians, this excel - Great location, really close to all the attractions like Medinet Habu and Valley of the Kings. Excellent food and great staff. They also have a good driver that can take you around luxor for a reasonable price.
- Matthew (10/5): Excellent stay, would highly recommend! - Excellent value for money, the staff are so friendly and the food, for breakfast and dinner, is excellent. No complaints!
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional - Clean room. Included breakfast was great and very filling. Location is very convenient for visiting West Bank sites at your own pace via walking, microbuses, point to point taxis/tuk tuks etc.
- Péter (10/5): Exceptional - We had a fantastic stay at Gabalawy's guesthouse! The hospitality was outstanding, and Gabalawy went above and beyond to ensure a comfortable experience. The location was convenient, and Gabalawy's local recommendations added a special touch to our trip. I highly recommend this guesthouse for anyone looking for a welcoming and charming accommodation.
- Tmj79 (10/5): Exceptional - Nice place. The owner is very friendly. The breakfast is good. Remember to plug in the hot water heather. Even with that the hot water doesnt last too long.
- Barbara. (10/5): Exceptional - A oasis of peace. Great tranquil place to stay and not just see all that Luxor has to offer, but also to relax. All the staff were very kind and attentive, the food was good and plentiful. If you need a tour or transportation, it will be organized reliably for a fair price, but nobody pushes you to buy anything. Some sights are even in walking distance. Absolutely safe for solo female travellers. If I ever come back to Luxor, I'll choose this place again!
- Yi-tung (5/5): Passable - Location is nice The owner charged us dinner for 440 pounds for two people, I think it's overpriced.
I wouldn't say I like the bed, it's very uncomfortable and hard to sleep.
- Francis (8/5): Very good -
- Emilie (8/5): Very nice place for very good price - The place is quiet, the bedroom is big Far from the boats and not easy to get transportation around
- Svetlana (10/5): Exceptional - This place is like an oasis in a desert, the owner is extremely friendly and welcoming and the location is perfect; you can literally walk to Habu temple.
I would come back to this place again, thank you for your hospitality.
- Francis (8/5): Very good - Very quiet, good mattress and good breakfast It is very quiet because of the location but it is far from the center so depending what you look for, the location is good or not. For any activity better to organize by yourself
- Jasper (10/5): Exceptional - A place outside of touristy and or busy Luxor. The hotel had a nice garden and a spacious rooftop from where you can see balloons in the morning. The owner/ manager is friendly and willing to share knowledge and passion. Was not ‘just looking for money’. We wanted to stay longer, but had to go (travel plans). Nothing really important.
Only thing: three streets down the road there is a dog that barks/ growls when you’re walking (only in dark)
- Amro (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nidhi (6/5): Pleasant -
- Peta (10/5): Home away from home, you won’t want to leave. - Perfect location and home away from home on the peaceful west bank Luxor. Walk/ride to all the sites, large rooms, cool garden, great food and vibes/games. No better place for a trip to Egypt, you will want to stay a week. It was all awesome
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - The Staff make you feel welcomed all the time and go the extra mile to help you when needed. Very close to all the sites in west bank without the hassle of crossing the city. Higly recommended !
- Harry (9/5): Sanctuary on the west bank - Great rooftop, lovely garden, good food, peaceful location, nice rooms, friendly people, value for money. The shower in our room wasn't the best
- Maike (5/5): Not as comfortable as expected. - Close to the valley of kings and nice terrace. The host was kind and made sure my partner was okay when he was sick. He also brought us to the ferry and organized taxi to the airport. We stayed a total of 3 nights and every night we would sleep with windows closed and everything closed; somehow mosquitoes would still make it into our room and wake us up in the middle of the night, several timea. The beds were not comfortable and at night sometimes they would play loud youtube music on the phones from the terrace that we could hear from our room. I’m sure it can be a nice place, but we personally didn’t have the best experience.
- Şenol (10/5): Fantastic Place and Host - Hospitality, location, rooms, food
- Susette (10/5): Very nice stay - Cosy hotel, very strategically positioned in relation to the major sites on the West Bank of Luxor. Friendly staff that can help you with any trip you want to make. Rooms are basic but perfect in relation to the price per night. Dinner is fresh and tasted great! Everything was okay
- Marie (8/5): Very good stay, amazing view from rooftop - Great location you will be able to have a look on the mountain from the rooftop and it’s really close to the Kings valley and everything
They offer the service of Mahmoud who is very kind and helpful for any need of transport around
Djebbah is always there meaning that he will always be able to help for anything
And they have a restaurant which is better because it’s not easy to eat outside at night (or you need to walk around 1 km in the dark) Pretty much nothing, maybe breakfast could be a little bit upgraded but it’s okay
- Chekufeh (10/5): Idyllic stay with perfect location to visit sites in the West Bank - LOVED this place! Deep in nature but next to Hebu temple. Perfect for visiting sites on the West Bank. The owner is sooo lovely and warm, and gave me some chillies from his beautiful garden. 100% recommend.
- Todd (10/5): An astounding spot that will make you want to stay. - He and his staff are wonderful people who have your best interests in mind, and who want you to feel welcome and safe in their country. It's an amazing place in a great location, but it's the heart of the people that work there that make all the difference - if you stay here, you will never regret it, and your heart will await your return to this home. There is not enough space to give this place a proper review. It is in walking distance of the most amazing sights and experiences, but that's not the reason you'll return. It's an oasis of calm and care and serenity... But that's not the reason you'll return. It's clean and inviting with decent amenities; but that's not the reason either.
The reason you will return to Pharaonic Rose is how it makes you feel. There's a sign in the courtyard; Pharaonic Rose House. And it is. The owner and host invites you into his space, and makes it a home. Perhaps you've heard of all the scams and tricks where people in Egypt will try to get money from you or mislead you; you can leave all that at the doorway when you step across the threshold and into this home. Gaba will do his best to take care of you, and ensure that your journey is a memorable and pleasant one; he brings to his establishment a wonderful ethos of realizing that you are guests not only in his home, but in his country, and he will do what he can to make sure you leave with a positive impression of Egypt and a desire to return.
- Lars (10/5): Exceptional - It was lovely staying out of the busy centre of Luxor. The area is quiet and the people are very nice.
- Brett (10/5): A magical place - A quiet spot on the West Bank of Nile where many of the historic attractions like the Valley of Kings. I had no worries from the moment I arrived at the train station I was taken care of like family and greeted in the same fashion on my arrival at the hotel. Every arrangement was made seamless, hot air balloon, a fantastic and educated guide of temples, transportation and even helping to arrange my next stop in Aswan. The food was spectacular. The rooms clean, comfortable and quiet. A remarkable place. I honestly can’t think of one thing.
