• Wee Lin (1/5): The host has worked out a defence, refuse to address security n privacy (there were past complaints) - The place was nice but I left the place five minutes after I arrived. I didn’t have time to put down what I like because the room I booked cannot give me privacy and security, which is a basic requirement. The room has NO lock. The place advertised as a shared location but I booked a room (written facilities stated both toilet and shared toilet - you would assumed you hv some non-shared facilities). Pls see photo of booking.com page Queen Room w garden view. Minimally there should be a lock to my room for my own privacy or security. I booked the room, which should not be a shared facility where other strangers can come in. There were other people in the house but they are total strangers to me. I left within 5 mins of arrival without meeting the host and, without touching the room once I see there is no lock. When I contacted the host - he/she confirmed that there is no lock but also refused to refund, despite my room is one of the two rooms that are empty (in other words, the host didn’t turn away anyone on my account). Pls book at your own risk. I booked a room, not a bed in a dorm. Normal regards will assume a room has a lock. The host has plenty of chance to put a lock since the first feedback (I saw people commenting in past feedback). I wondered why the host chose not to do this.

• Bronwyn (9/5): Good parking down the drive off the road. it was comfortable and relaxing. - I had the room upstairs which had a private bathroom which was nice. Clean and comfortable.

• Veronika (10/5): - The house and room were beautiful, everything was clean and nicely prepared. Communication with Magdalena was great. You can also do your laundry which is nice. Our room didn’t have a lock on the door. We didn’t mind it that much but it wouldn’t be bad to have one.

The other people staying there and host Magdalena were lovely :) Was fine for a couple nights before leaving Melbourne Would have appreciated a lock on the bedroom door. It’s also quite far from the cbd. The neighboorhood is very quiet (depends what you prefer)

• Isix (3/5): I am not happy with the stay. - Neighbourhood was nice. I was unhappy with this booking. Firstly, I booked a “1 x Queen Room” that was supposed to have a private bathroom & shower. However, I ended up with a shared bathroom, which was not what I had paid for. Secondly, I was particularly concerned about security. The house key was left outside the house unattended and unsecure, which meant anyone could pick it up and enter the property. Thirdly, each room lacked a lock, which meant anyone could walk into my room and steal our personal belongings.

• Meredith (9/5): Attractive, clean, comfortable - Lovely attractive home, good communication from friendly owner with easy check in, nice location close to public transport and cafes, comfortable and extremely clean.
• Samantha (5/5): Ok - Accomodating owner, despite being double booked they still gave us a room Unfortunately due to being double booked my stay was not what I had hoped and planned for and was not happy with how close I was to the other people using the accommodation, huge lack of privacy and had to share bathroom facilities with other guests

• Mark (9/5): - Nice double story share home tucked away in a quiet suburb. Perfect distance from the office in Northcote (15mins). The kitchen had most things and there's a Woolworths about 1 kilometre away. All rooms were of ample size and the heater on the cold nights came in very handy The TV remote didn't work, could only channel surf or volume up/down via the buttons at the bottom of the screen

• Mahes Polis (8/5): Good - The house & location is awesome. Nice place to stay. The place itself was great and we really enjoyed our stay. The only downsides were that the bathroom wasn’t very clean that day, and unfortunately we had some noisy neighbors in one of the top rooms. They kept talking loudly until midnight, and the next morning at 6am they were knocking on doors and being loud again. I think it was just bad luck on our part, as the overall experience and location were really good

• Paul (8/5): A good option for staying north of the city. - The house was very clean, comfortable (especially the bed) and well fitted out. Magdalena was a great host and came in every day to clean and tidy up. We had our own bathroom so the other guests didn’t impact us. The TV controller didn’t work properly. We borrowed one and showed that it was the controller not the TV. Magdalena needs to buy another one. Bedside lights would make a difference.

Good location close to train station, nice walk to supermarket/tram stops that take you to the CBD, clean, superbly friendly and gracious host, all round smooth sailing. Good vibes, good energy & great people this is a good spot & most importantly it's safe too there's no unsavoury characters lingering around. No dislikes

• Barrientos (10/5): 11/10 - It is so clean!!! There's a safe car park, wifi microwave, and fridge which I needed. There are basic utensils, soaps, towels, and bins. Magdalena was such a wonderful host 💗💗 I just hope there is a portable heater for rooms because the house heater is noisy and it keeps waking me up so i had to turn it off in the middle of the night. But the doona and blanket are so warm anyways!!! 🥰 With such a low price, the stay exceeded my expectations 🌟 Just a message for people availing this.. this is a shared house, if you're going to book this place, please don't be rude to other housemate and be kind to each other. 🤗

• Brian (4/5): The stress caused by the mess-up with our room created a very disappointing stay. - The house and furniture are superb. There was no information for our arrival, no information that there are 2 houses on the property. The houses do not have numbers on them. Magdalena did not have a guest list. We were put in the wrong room in the wrong house, no ensuite. On recognising the problem while we were out, our bags had to be moved by a stranger. The correct room did not have sheets that covered the bed, Magdalena had to get more, again, while we were out. The lawns have not been mowed, the exterior of the house needs attention.

The only slight anxiety we had during our sta - A very cosy and home-like atmosphere; the outdoor area, living room, dining and kitchen areas were all nicely maintained and relaxing spaces to use. The house feels safe and is located in a peaceful, quiet area. The host is super lovely and very easy to communicate with, she made the stay such a welcoming and wonderful time. The quality of the stay would be even better with individual door locks, just for safety and pre caution, especially when occupants are out of the house! Some bedside tables would be a helpful addition too.

• Teresse (6/5): Cheap city accommodation with an open door policy. - The location of the house in relation to the party we were going to was brilliant. The interior of the common areas was really lovely too. I asked for onsite parking but the parking area was so small that even though my ute is only a Nissan Navara I had an inch either side to get onto the driveway to unpack and I couldn't actually turn around in the bays in front of the 4 garages as there wasn't enough space. When I did complete the 60 point turn I took up 2.5 spaces and then had to park on the street as I couldn't get in when we came back as there were cars in their spots. We were totally ok with sharing common spaces with other people as we were only there for a night and not using the kitchen/dining etc. However, there were no locks on our bedroom or bathroom doors and when we came home from the party late that night the front door was wide open and there was no one in the house and we were the first to leave for the night and wrongly made the assumption that the other guests would lock the door when they left. We went upstairs to our room and discovered that not only were there no locks but the doors didn't actually stay closed and we had to put the chair up against the door as the door kept swinging open all the time during our stay. Then there was the issue of the bathroom....it said ensuite in the blurb but the bathroom was across the hall. Ensuite bathrooms do not involve a hallway. This is a private bathroom but not an ensuite. The bedroom was a lovely big room BUT someone had put two (2) queen-size flat sheets on the king-size bed and so we had to sleep on the join in the middle of the bed otherwise every time we rolled over there was no sheet as it would come with us as the sheets went to the very edge of the bed and no further. There was also only 1 pillow that could be used as the other one in the cupboard didn't have a pillow slip on it. Not to be picky but you can't call somewhere a beautiful home when there are waist high weeds growing up the drive way and the courtyard behind the house where the deck was overgrown with grass and was a mess.
