- Adrian (10/5): wonderful stay - Great location, easy access, owner was in good contact in advance of stay, didn't need to contact during stay, fire alarms and fire extinguisher in apartment, all utilities available, washing machine and dryer were great, and there were no extra charges, which was wonderful. fold out bed, easy to use with instructions given, large tv which was great small bit of noise on the street at night, but not enough to stop having a good night sleep
- Georgina (4/5): - Location is good, 5-10 mins walk to centre and 15-20 minute walk to port. Host was very responsive by email and WhatsApp. Although the location is good, the property is ground floor and can hear everything. Any noise from outside, someone coming into the building or people driving/ talking outside can be heard as if they are in the apartment. I did see that other reviews mentioned this, but I am not usually a light sleeper so did not think this would be a problem, however I was unaware how loud this actually is.
On top of this, the apartment next door had building works going on. The host also owns this apartment and did not make us aware. We were woken up at 7 and 8am two mornings in a row from banging and drilling, again which sounded like it was in our apartment. When I told the host, they just said as long as they are respecting quite hours, there’s nothing they can do. When i let them know this was before 8am, they apologised and said hopefully will be better over the weekend. This was also so loud throughout the day that we could barely hear the TV. If we knew this was going in, we would not have booked this apartment.
The shower also did not drain. If you did not switch the water off every 30 seconds while showering, the shower would flood. There was also a smell coming from the bathroom every time you ran the water.
The only windows look out onto the street, so if you open the blind to get some light in, everyone walking past can see you.
Not everything listed was provided. We did not have a kettle which was disappointing. The host said to use the coffee machine, but the water coming out of this was not clear.
Although the apartment seemed clean, we did find two dead cockroaches on the floor next to the bed on our last day.
Also, although we did not have any problems, our taxi driver that dropped us from the airport to this apartment warned us that the block we were staying on was unsafe. As two women, we did not feel as safe here as you do in the center, especially at night.
