Guest Reviews
- Peter (4/5): I’d rather sleep in the park - Nothing The method of obtaining key access; the additional security deposit.
- Helen (10/5): -
- Beverley (5/5): ok - good location Apartment clean and comfortable but the deck was filthy. A lot of the crockery was chipped. No tea or coffee was provided for arrival.
- Matthew (4/5): -
- James (2/5): Key pick up and drop off was unacceptable - What a cluster to get the keys. Unacceptable
- Janielle (7/5): Home whilst we found a home - Great location Problems with the smoke alarms and general cleanliness and the oven did not work. Blinds did not block the sun.
- Nicholls (4/5): Extremely disappointed. Especially with cooking appliance not being able to be utilised, and not even a hint of a partia - Location Non working appliance. Oven door was ajar and the appliance was not in operation.
Bathroom items. Shampoo & body wash were not full and is not enough to cover a three night stay.
Bed linen was missing the top sheet, doona is too small for the bed size and there is no extra blankets available.
Rubbish was left by either previous guest or cleaning staff in the garage.
Key pick up & drop off was smooth. However the location of this collection point is extremely poor. There is no legal parking areas close by.
- Avril (6/5): Would love to visit Canberra again. Can you confirm when return of $300 deposit will happen? - Convenient, close to the city and market. Items broken and marks on carpet and wall were not registered anywhere before we entered the premises. Would have liked for a hand over to be done, to ensure we were not going to be held responsible for this after vacating the property.
- Nishimwe (10/5): - Great place comfy and relaxing. Staff were amazing and able to accommodate an early checkin .
- Jacqualine (4/5): Would not stay here again because of key pickup - It was central Having to go to Ezymart to pick up keys. They didn’t give us remote for garage and it took 2 hours to sort it out, with lots of phone calls. No shampoo, conditioner, tissues.
- David (4/5): Disappointing. Reached out prior to departure to inquire where to leave keys and had no response - Location was good The carpets were stained. Behind the couch was located a pair of dirty socks, two mouldy maltese type lollies and scap paper. Also located under the couch was a magazine - all showing that around the couch was not porperly cleaned.
It would have been nice to have some chairs on the balcony to sit on.
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Thomas (7/5): Good -
- John (2/5): Disappointing. The photos and advertised did not reflect the poor condition. - Location The matter concerns generally the lack of cleanliness and hygiene about the one-bedroom apartment which I stayed from Thursday 5 December and checked out on Sunday morning 8 December 2024. I had booked the accommodation until Wednesday 11 December 2024. Because of the poor state of the accommodation, I checked out early. I notified your office on 8 December 2024.
In particular the issues concern the following:
• a number of oblivious stains in the bedroom floor
• dirty balcony floor and surrounding
• dirty stairwells
Other matters of concern include the following:
• An extra blanket was requested which was not provided
• Only one roll of toilet paper was available
Substandard donner cover and no top sheet.
The above matters seems to me to be issues:
• Services were not reasonably fit for purpose,
• The services were rendered with no care and skill
• Occupational health and safety
The accommodation advertised and provided should be of a certain condition and standard. This was not provided.
Consequently, it is requested that a refund be provided for the four days ( i.e; unday 8 December to Wednesday 11 December) that the room was vacant
- Nell (8/5): Very good -
- Sue (6/5): This is a lovely apartment and could be so much nicer, with the below inadequacies easily rectified. - The location was very convenient, as was the underground parking.
Bed was comfortable. No top sheet on the bed, which is expected in this day and age. No spare blanket. Pillows of poor quality. Two towels for two people for three nights, inadequate. Handwash container in bathroom 99% empty and plunger top broken and sharp. No dishwashing liquid and tea towel was also crushed and of very poor quality. Only one hand towel of very poor quality stained and crushed. Smoke alarm hanging open from ceiling.
Balcony was FILTHY, not having been cleaned for months, if then. No outdoor setting. Kitchen garbage bin lid broken. Kitchen drains smelling quite badly. Washing machine filters, I believe, have never been cleaned and were clogged! Mould in grout and corner of shower, not bad, but there. Doona cover very badly creased, it looked very uninviting on arrival and making it impossible to tell if it was freshly washed.
- Carol (7/5): It was okay but wouldn’t recommend it and would not stay there again. - It was spacious with all the usual conveniences It wasn’t exactly clean - there were stains on the bedroom carpet and the balcony had leaves and weeds on it which blocked the drain so when it rained on and off for a whole day it was like a foot bath on the balcony as it held the water.
The quilt on the bed wasn’t big enough (it didn’t reach the edge of the bed) so we had to buy a blanket/ throw.
Towels were provided but only one bath towel each and a small hand towel, so again had to go and buy more towels.
No instructions were left about where the dustbins were or when they were emptied we had to ask a neighbour.
- Robert (8/5): A good experience - Good facilities and well situated Wi-fi not connected satisfactorily
- Myth (7/5): Not disappointing. - Location Massive stain on the master bedroom carpet
No spray to clean bench tops
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (6/5): Adequate - NA Carpets were filthy and Need a good clean.
Could not access many television channels on your television, very pixilated.
No instructions for using oven were found. Could not locate rubbish bins apart from behind locked gate.
Inadequate bedding Canberra winter and no extra available.
- John (4/5): Disappointing - Good location Penny pinching approach to bathroom toiletries. No salt and pepper.
Absolutely ridiculous requests for uploading identity checks. Passports??? We provided our passport details reluctantly.
We usually wash the dishes before we leave an apartment but this is the first time we’ve been asked to do so “in the interests of health”.
- Kuno (5/5): Nightmare - It is like sleeping on a highway! 24/7 traffic in front with no double glazed windows a nightmare. No extra blanket at 0 degrees! Very sparse crockery and the list goes on!
- Nell (10/5): Fantastic location - It was a great apartment in a fantastic location, right in the heart of Braddon and close to public transport. It was a nice place for an extended stay in Canberra. It could have been a bit cleaner, but it was well-equipped.
- Merle (7/5): Almost nothing to complain - The apartment has a nice and well equipped kitchen, as well as a big bed and a laundry machine and a dry cleaning machine. There is also a balcony and a parking lot. We were provided two big towels. I would have liked to have two big towels and two or three small towels, so that you could use one small towel for drying your hands after using the toilets instead of having to use your showering towel. The additional small towels would be useful for hair or was drying.
- Briony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Svetlozar (9/5): Superb - Location Space
- Anonymous (9/5): Superb -
- Nadia (10/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - Apartment was clean, staff were responsive and helpful, had everything we needed and more, close to many amenities, affordable and spacious. -
- Matthew (6/5): Pleasant - Location and facilities No cooking ingredients provided (oil, etc)
Bed and couch very uncomfortable
- Joan (5/5): Reasonable price but facilities nothing special - Spacious premises Miserable supply of tea and coffee.
No soap in shower
Noisy street
Carpet in stairwell tired
- Simon (10/5): Great place, very clean - Very clean, well maintained, great location Noise from cars on Torrens road started early and seemed loud even with the windows closed. Surprisingly loud perhaps some sort of amplification was taking place in the balcony area.
- Michael (7/5): It was average, for the cost. - The location was good. It was also nice to have a large apartment to myself. The bed was too soft, very uncomfortable. There was no soap in the shower - only foaming soap from a dispenser on the basin. I am not sure why the lockbox wasn't in operation. It meant the host had to meet me at the apartment, and I was quite late, and then when I checked out I had to drive the car out, park it, then re-enter the building in order to leave the keys on the table inside.
- Stephen (9/5): Absolutely fantastic property would recommend as long as the access to the unit could be improved - Was an exceptional apartment close to the Canberra centre great off street parking lovely surroundings leafy and lots of birds all of the appointments worked and were well maintained the bed was soooo comfortable the shower was lovely as was the washing machine and dryer I would recommend Did not realise it was on the 1st floor had to carry luggage up two long flights of stairs but tine view was worth it,
My biggest hripe would be it took over 3 hours to locate the key the key holder was difficult to communicate with losts of confusion especially for out of towners thank heavens for our GPS
- Frances (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
- Suzanne (8/5): Fantastic, comfortable apartment but housekeeping not quite up to scratch. - The apartment itself was brilliant - easy check-in and out, ideally located, mostly clean (only the bathroom bin wasn't, everything else was), and the bed was insanely comfortable.
It's a really nice apartment. Quiet, comfy, affordable and with most things all in the right place. Also there was adequate heating for the winter week of the stay, which made our nights and mornings very comfortable. We really enjoyed this apartment aside from the things mentioned below. I did debate whether to rate this property lower for some things that would have been more important had we been inside more during the stay. We were there for a sport competition and out for dinner with the team most nights.
Do not stay here expecting to use the oven! The oven cannot be used due to no oven mitt, no tea towel, and no oven trays.
Bring your own tea towel as I did, thanks to a previous review. I did ask the host if there was a tea towel but they did not respond and instead skirted around the issue when I said it was an expectation of an apartment with a kitchen.
Also they did not leave any toilet paper. I contacted the host and they said some would be dropped off but it never appeared. I had bought my own by then anyway and didn't want to spend my time conversing with them when I was busy.
Nor was the bathroom bin emptied since the last stay and there was a tampon wrapper and personal items in the bin! That was a bit shocking to be honest. I emptied it myself at the end of my stay so the next guest would not have to encounter a bin with the previous guest's intimate rubbish in it.
- David (6/5): Pleasant - Location good for my needs. For a 5 night stay, there was only 2 bath towels.
There was no oven tray, no tongs, no pillow protectors, no top sheet under doona, no tea towel. You expect these in an apartment.
There were items left in the fridge which I assume we left by previous guests.... Milk bottle (still there). Tub of Nuttelex margarine (still there).
