• Peter (9/5): Refurbished town house at the top of an old village - Recently refurbished old town house at the top of old Louro, surrounded by traditional Hórreos (mais sheds). Lovely terrace, with views of mountains and sea and beach in the distance. Lots of space. Super quiet at night, very secure, excellent windows & shutters for full darkness at night. Excellent mini supermarket nearby 5 min drive to fantastic beaches, 15 min to Murros. This is a place to relax for a few days, cook at home, disconnect. Visitors should be aware that the house is located hidden in a labyrinth of small narrow streets at the very top of a very quiet old village (note that Booking and Google do not correctly display the location). It is accessible by car, and you can park right next to the house, but you need to be a (very) confident driver. Some streets are super narrow & steep… There is no WiFi router and 5G is only strong on the terrace; other spaces have very poor reception. The shower and toilet are downstairs, while all bedrooms are upstairs. One bedroom is “blind”, ie no windows. Matrasses are good for light people & kids. I left with more back-ache after 5 nights
• Margaret (10/5): Very restful. - It was a great location and very quiet. Easy walk to the beach and restaurants. Very close to the shop. Very nice terrace. It was all good.
• Eugene (8/5): The village was fascinating with some of the most beautiful traditional granaries all around. - New & clean apartment in a traditional stone village. Parking was difficult. The village has twisty narrow lanes, not really suitable for cars. Our hostess said we could park right outside the apartment, but this was a mistake. A very irrate villager needed to get by at night and he was very angry that we had partially blocked the lane. We were quite shaken by the nasty encounter. Hostess should have let us know that cars need to be parked below where the road is wider.
