Terrible experience – Do not recommend We stayed at this hostel and were mistakenly given a larger room than the one we had originally booked – an honest mistake by one of the staff members. Instead of handling the situation calmly and professionally, the manager responded by yelling at us and demanding we pay double, even though we didn’t ask for an upgrade and had no idea it wasn’t our original room. When we tried to explain the situation politely, she responded with blatant racism, calling me a “filthy Israeli” and snatching the money out of my hand. Beyond that, the place is poorly maintained – no room key was provided, the bathroom was moldy and had a terrible smell, and at night there was no running water, making it impossible to brush our teeth or flush the toilet. Absolutely awful experience. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere – there are plenty of other places in the area with much better value for the same price.

• Andrey (10/5): I was greeted as a king at Al Carajo - The location, the convenience, the staff, the guests visiting the attached bar w the kitchen. All felt familiar, friendly, and right up to the alley. Certain areas of the facility could be renewed or updated. I'm talking about showers, bathrooms, and the kitchen area. At the same time, you're right at the beach, and a few steps from several affordable places to eat and a supermarket.
• Tasadar (10/5): Exceptional - Very interesting hostel, simple, no frills, I really liked that there is a lot of greenery, there is a place to work where you can sit quietly with a computer, a barbecue area, and of course a bar where they cook very good burgers. I really liked the attitude of the administrators who helped me plan my trip to Ecuador, they gave a lot of advice, interesting information not only about Ecuador, but also about other countries of Latin America. Of the minuses, of course, I would like to note the close location of the main road, but it is noisy mainly during the day, at night you can sleep peacefully and it is good that the hostel is located at a small distance from the party center, so at night you can sleep peacefully without the noise of music coming from parties. And of course, it is a little dusty and mosquitoes bother you.
