- N (5/5): Ko comment - The building is extremely professional it's a place we could stay forever!
The room size was massive Sharing
And unprepared walldrobe I'm afraid!
- Jonas (4/5): Disappointing - Location The host was really off. The communication was not good - took us a while to get in the flat and to get the code to the gate. You basically could not have a conversation with her.
- Fm (9/5): very warm and comfortable - The location was great - maybe a little more guidance on how to access it would be helpful. I booked on the day so gave VERY little notice - so thats on me Everything was great
- Abdirisak (10/5): awesome, i would definitely stay here again. - the hostess were great.
she went above and beyond.
she made sure i settled in comfortably. none
- Shenghui (6/5): Pleasant - The place of stay is really good. The room smells kind of weird , and the process of check-in is unclear.
- Akeisha (9/5): Stayed with my friend and we enjoyed it, had a homey feel that we didnt get from hotels. And host was nice and accommoda - Had a lovely homey feel. With a nice balcony. Not just a hotel stay but feeling at home. The host was very accommodating as well.
- Oliwia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tucker (5/5): Passable - The room looked nice and was a good size. It was kind of the host to provide drinks in the fridge and we were encouraged to help ourselves to anything in the kitchen. The balcony was a nice touch and the bathroom was clean. The room wasn't very clean. There were old, dirty water bottles in the kitchen when we arrived. The tea towel provided in the kitchen was pretty filthy. The bed was pretty small and not amazingly comfortable. The doorbell kept going off quite late at night, assuming the host had guests coming round. Didn't hear much noise coming from the host's room, but the bell going off was quite disturbing. Quite a lot of money for an unclean room and a disturbed nights sleep.
- Reda (10/5): Safe and quiet area, Lovely room and Great host - Host went above and beyond to make my stay stress-free
- Sergen (6/5): Pleasant - Good location and comfortable room. Bathroom
- Gavin (9/5): Excellent value, good location, wonderful host. Potentially problematic for disabled travellers. - Centrally-located with a Piccadilly line station 0.3 mile walk away, as well as several off-license, restaurants, and a Little Waitrose in incredibly close proximity. The flat itself is charming, lived-in. The "shared bathroom" is shared in the smallest way possible. It literally is a door across the hallway from the door to this flat, and the "hallway" is about ten feet wide and the only person you're sharing with is Calm, the host.
DO NOTE that the city shuts down the Holloway Road station around Arsenal home games to force fans to use the bespoke Arsenal station. Just keep Arsenal's schedule in mind and budget either money or time to take above-ground bus routes/a taxi to physically be able to get home without walking the better part of a mile through hilly neighborhoods. For those from the U.S. thinking of booking, it's worth noting this apartment very much is English insofar as there is no built-in air conditioning or fan system. If you're used to the hum of fans/air conditioning as background noise, or the cooling effect of moving air, it might be worth buying a cheap fan once you land in the city and bring it with you. My stay was effectively camping insofar as I had the window and door to the room open at all times and was incredibly limiting in what heat-generating activities (e.g. cooking) I would do later in the evening.
It should also be noted this is a university-adjacent complex and has what seems like a hands-off management. While Calm was a gracious host, the sole lift in the building was completely dead all four days of my stay. When that lift is out, you've got four flights of stairs to contend with on top of 2/3rds of a mile of walking round trip from Holloway Road station to interface with the train system. It might not seem like much until you're on a trip where you're doing a lot of walking-intensive activities already, then things like a few flights of stairs will add up very quickly. It was enough that I simply did not leave the flat one of my four days to let my feet recover.
- Aalap (10/5): Highly recommended, would visit again! - Great location, not very far from Central London. The host, Calm, was extremely gracious! She was very accommodating and a lovely person to speak to. The attached balcony is a cherry on the top, very rare in London.
- Ennioc. (8/5): Looking forward to come back again - The host Calm is extremely friendly and accomodating, we really enjoyed chatting with her and she made everything very comfy and relaxing through all our stay. Nothing overall but if there's something to say it's just about the smelly corridors inside the building (not related to the room/apartment)
- Todd (9/5): Felt like staying at a longtime friend’s place. - The balcony and the proximity to the Emirates stadium. The room fee was very reasonable and the host was an absolutely lovely person, attentive, generous and really just overall a brilliant human being. Top drawer!
- Xiao (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keedy (10/5): Friendly, comfortable, convenient location, hit the spot perfectly. - Calm was super welcoming and very accommodating. Great facilities, very comfortable. Nothing
- Briani (10/5): Exceptional - it was in a very convenient place for the concert i was attending at the garage. it's super cosy and feels just like home. i was nervous at first about sharing a bathroom but you can't even tell there wasn't anything, i was confused about finding the entrance at first but found it pretty easily after walking around the block
- Pa (8/5): Lovely stay for Arsenalfans with a wonderful host in Calm! - Nice and cosy room with your own kitchen and a lovely host! The proximity to the Emirates stadium makes it a perfect place to stay for Arsenal fans! Only one bed (sofa bed) - but it was comfortable!
- Alan (10/5): Brilliant place to stay. - The host was really cool, friendly and helpful especially about my bike being left on the balcony. She had left the place clean and tidy. She was easy to contact. They had a lot of cool art and a great towel saying “Save the planet “ etc I felt right at home. Nothing
- Brennan (9/5): Superb -
- Flora (9/5): Superb - Amazing and very flexible host and very cozy room in a central location. Really enjoyed the balcony :)
- Alex (10/5): Would highly recommend - Amazingly friendly host very welcoming
- Steven (7/5): Good -
- Peter (9/5): Inexpensive secure stylish accommodation near Holloway Road. - The beautiful Calm hosted us and made us feel at home. Nothing. Whilst sharing the flat with Calm and her boyfriend she made us feel at ease and welcome. Lovely high ceilings, fresh and airy. Industrial loft chique!
- Jo (10/5): Amazing place, great hosts! Highly recommend - Wonderful hosts, great location, very comfortable - a perfect stay!
- Roxann (9/5): Superb -
- Henrique (4/5): Disappointing -
- Natalie (10/5): Absolutely fantastic, will definitely stay again - Calm was an amazing host, she made me feel very welcome. She was very friendly and easy going. I would definitely stay there again and will recommend her to others Nothing
- Tarja (5/5): It was a lot of money for not such a great place. - It was a big studio room. The bed was comfortable enough. The person who met us was lovely. It was hard to find the entrance on the street. Then we had to walk up three flights of stairs with three different codes on doors. The door to the outside landing didn't lock. There were no clean towels provided. I think someone lived there when there weren't people staying in the room.
- Dan (8/5): Very good -
- Mike (9/5): Superb - Host was very helpful and nothing was a problem Location and easy to find . Shower was good also
- Olivia (10/5): Exceptional - Spacious, great location, friendly people, great aesthetics!
- Barbara (5/5): Sofa bed in a studio full of incense - The lady who handled check in and out was very friendly.
There was a bonus balcony and kitchen area. It’s not a double bed as advertised, instead it’s a sofa bed.
There was a very intense incense smell, and even though we asked for the incense to be removed immediately upon arrival, the smell nevertheless remained intense and permeated everything, which was really uncomfortable for me.
The curtains are very thin and don’t keep any light out.
The room is effectively a kitchen/lounge area, so there’s the hun of the fridge and ticking of the boiler.
I can see why others love it but it’s not as advertised and if I had known what to expect I wouldn’t have booked it as I wanted a proper bedroom.
- Natalia (8/5): Really enjoyed it :) - I loved the place, it was really cute, very close to the stadium and had a steamer, kitchen and balcony all included, however was hard to find the place, the check out would be handy to be an hour later and the oven was hard to figure out, but honestly really impressed with it overall !!!! Loved our stay but would contact beforehand to get all the info so you have a stress free stay :)
- David (10/5): Perfect - Nice very clean and comfy apartment with helpful owner in a good location a few mins walk to the London Underground and near central London, close to all amenities. I was very happy overall and would consider staying here again next time I’m in London if available Stairs only to apartment floor but engineers currently installing new lift (looks to be nearly ready).
- Lahmar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tomisin (10/5): Comfortable, cosy and convenient - Great location, the place was tastefully decorated and cosy felt we felt right at home! The host was lovely, friendly and very happy to help. Would definitely recommend!
