Guest Reviews
- Nicolas (10/5): - The family was very accomodating, and even csmr to pick us up from the mainland. All the food was delicious and the village was beautiful. Highly recommended.
- Katie (8/5): Great Village stay at Soso... - We love the Fijian village experience.
The bedroom and bathroom were clean and we had lots of room.We had a mosquito net.
We had a lovely dinner. all good
- Melissa (10/5): We wish we could have stayed forever - We were so happy to have stayed in this beautiful homestay. One thing that makes it special is that it is in the middle of the village and not like other resorts where you see a lot of other tourist which was so unique! Also, it is not just food and accomodation, but getting to live with the locals and understand how they live and sometimes we even cooked together. After a week it was so sad to leave our new friends: The family, Silo, Bill Va the children and all the others that made us feel so welcome. The activities are amazing the beach is close to the homestay and very beautiful!!! We are really lucky and learned a lot from them, and this was for sure our favourite place to stay in Fiji.
- Ainsley (10/5): Exceptional - It was a great stay. The food was good and all the people where so nice!
- Patricia (10/5): Staying at this homestay was a truly authentic and heartwarming experience. I loved how welcoming and humble the family - The bed was clean and cozy, with fresh linens and a good mosquito net, which made for a restful night’s sleep. The kitchen was simple but fully functional. Overall, the house had a very homey, lived-in feel that made me feel relaxed and at ease. It’s a humble setup, but everything you need is there. One thing to note is that there wasn’t a traditional shower — instead, bathing was done with buckets, which took a bit of getting used to. But honestly, it added to the authenticity of the experience and reminded me that I was living like a local.
- Nathan (7/5): Good -
- Indigo (10/5): Highlight of our 5 weeks in Fiji - Family was amazing. Food was amazing. Remote location was amazing. Beautifully authentic experience, that will long live on in our memory. Was such an honour to connect with the host family, play with the kids, and be so warmly welcomed into the village community. I hope all who come be sure to give presence and thanks to the land and its people. It is a rare and special thing to be able to live so simply in this untouched and untainted way -- this is the first and only homestay in Soso Bay (largest village in the Yasawas). Wow, wow, wow. We miss it already!
- Parsons (10/5): Our best stop on the Yasawa Islands - Staying with Silo and Bill was a pleasure. We were welcomed into the family immediately, playing rugby with their sons and cousins throughout our stay on both the beach and local rugby pitch. Food made by the family was excellent throughout whilst you don’t get bored of things to do as the whole village embraces you and encourages you to join/help with daily activities
- Frank (10/5): ONE OF OUR BEST TRAVEL EXPERIENCES EVER!!! - Staying at Tai Evi Homestay in Soso Village was an unforgettable experience filled with warmth and community. The village, with around 600 people and 90 children attending the local school, welcomed us with open arms. Everywhere we walked, we would hear "Bula" being called out to us from peoples homes and yards. On the evening of our arrival, we met with the chief and brought offerings to get his blessing for our stay. Silo, Bill, Va, Rovini, Ike, Peter, and Loochi—made us feel like family. We enjoyed safe snorkeling in the vibrant coral reefs just off the beach, and the boat ride to the village while short, was filled with stunning views. The money spent for our two-night stay, felt like a small price for the rich cultural experience and genuine connections we made. The food prepared by Va was delicious, the bathroom, shower, and accommodations were clean, and we even had a power bar to recharge our devices during the day. We brought water with us, but were pleased to find out they had filtered water for us too if needed. If you're looking for adventure and a genuine experience, you have found your homestay! We wished we could stay longer, and hope to be back again!

- Hahn (10/5): Great experience - We had a great stay with Silo, Bill and their family. The food was amazing and you definitely won’t starve :D There are a lot of of things to do around the village, we did the Mantaray snorkeling unfortunately we didn’t see any but Bill took us snorkeling to some really beautiful spots instead. Also the beach in front of the village is great for snorkeling and you have it all to yourself.
They also took us to a birthday in the village which was really nice and we got to experience the Fijian lifestyle.
We felt really welcomed in the village everyone was really nice and smiling at us <3
- Lucas (10/5): Amazing stay at Soso with Bill family, sharing Fijian food, fishing and snorkeling - The sharing with local people
