Guest Reviews

- GavinWatson (9/5): Lovely night nested in tranquility. - The area was extremely tranquil, as was the room itself. It is an ideal venue for people who want to get away from the busyness of the outside world. The breakfast was simple but enough for our needs and all the necessary items were at our disposal. Karen was very friendly and informative but then left us to enjoy our quiet time, which IMHO made her the ideal host. The bedroom was dark, which I like. It was a lovely place to breathe and chill out. We recommend it and hope to return. The shower trickles just a little slowly, but that is all part of the local environment and didn't cause any great concern. Nothing else comes to mind. There is MUCH more to like than dislike, for sure.
- suzanne (7/5): perfect stay for between Adelaide to Melbourne drive or if you want to explore the Grampians - great out of the way location in a rural setting. Loved the effort to keep it authentic and using old furniture and decor .

- Ian (10/5): Great welcoming hosts -
- Kim (9/5): - Was a cosy room and nice outdoor view Probably needed a kitchen sink instead of using bathroom water
- kathy (9/5): We will definitely re book here the next time we come up to Dunkeld to visit family - The breakfast was good and the location was lovely We liked everything
- Zhen yang (7/5): - Quite a clean place Missing Clothes Hangers, low water pressure due to the rainwater system, i understand it will be fixed with a topup of water to the roof tank.
- Brendon (8/5): Great place to stay to get access to the surrounds of Hamilton and Dunkeld - Location was perfect for where I needed to go. It was nice being rural and work up to amazing sunrise. Coffee, tea and a light breakfast were provided. This was helpful as I didn't have time for much else. The rain water was a delight to drink! You could hear the hosts as there was an adjoining door with a curtain across it. Once in the main room with the door close it was dead quite though. They did let you know this was the case.
Shower pressure was on the low side, but the water was warm.
- Jenny (10/5): Perfect! - Great breakfast and very generous upgrade to the kiln, very grateful! Lovely setting overlooking mt sturgeon.
- Robert (9/5): A very relaxing short break from the city. - were given the Tobacco Kiln on arrival. Historic and well equipped. Karen very friendly and helpful. Lovely dogs! Breakfast supplies good including freshly ground coffee. Lots of extras to buy if you wanted to. Only personal and no reflection on property, I found a visit to the toilet in the middle of the night a bit difficult! To be fair, Karen asked if we had mobility problems.
- Craig (8/5): Very good -
- Alison (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay and we’re made to feel very welcome! - Beaut location in a rural settings, with majestic large gum trees and views to The Grampians.
- Lynette (8/5): Very good - Great stay. Comfortable and met all our needs. Unexpected bonus of being driven out to dinner. Fantastic and appreciated. Made to feel very welcome. Would definately stay here again.
- Alan (10/5): Just Wonderful - I stayed in the historic tobacco kiln.
This place is simply wonderful - peaceful, tranquil and the warmest of welcomes.
I cannot praise this high enough.
Thank you to the owners
- Fulvia (10/5): A cozy gem a couple of minutes drive from Dunkeld - The house was super cute and comfortable, the breakfast delicious and our host was nice and helpful Nothing! We loved it
- Robert (10/5): Amazing Moutajup! - The hostess was very helpful and hospitable.
The setting is a farm house so very quiet.
The accommodation is very comfortable and homely.
A great place for an overnight stay or a few days renewal and refreshment! Nothing to report.
- Gary (8/5): Great rural stopover - Great rural location with views to the Grampians. The unit is large and very comfortable. Karen was very welcoming and helpful..great country hospitality! Easy drive into Dunkeld and nearby Grampians walks. A little truck noise from road but can still listen to the birds!
- P (9/5): A most pleasant stay in a peaceful location - Karen was a friendly and welcoming host.
We were provided with more than adequate breakfast provisions for our 3 night stay.
The location was great - well out of town but close to several attractions. A wardrobe and/or more hanging space would have been appreciated, along with a small coffee table.
- Neal (10/5): Terrific - A working wool and canola farm with very welcoming hosts and a tour of the farm thrown in.
Lovely country... quite and peaceful and close to Dunkeld.
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dennis (9/5): Superb -
- Alan (9/5): Superb -
- Irene (8/5): It was a simple, cosy place to stay in set in a lovely location and the host was very friendly. - The breakfast that was supplied was very basic, for us to make ourselves. This sounds petty but for example there were only two teabags and no choices. We chose to drive to a cafe in Dunkeld for breakfast
- Linda (9/5): Excellent - Very helpful and friendly host. Spacious. Comfortable bed. Good shower. Peaceful. Good base for the area.
- Mary (9/5): Quiet homestead stay - Karen was an excellent host in respect of welcoming us and making sure we had everything we needed. What you see is what you get and breakfast was extremely well catered for with different breads lots of milk, butter and jams. I have to say the chocolate and cherry brownies were a real treat too. Nothing to think of.
- Bruce (8/5): Very good - Nice people,
Facilities are fine. The toaster kept setting off the smoke alarm.
The heater overloaded the power when we switched on the kettle.
- Judith (8/5): we spent a comfortable night. The hosts were very kind when we cut short our stay and didn’t charge us for an unused sec - a lovely peaceful location the accommodation is quite old
- Siobhan (10/5): Beautiful country stay, I'll be back - Our host was lovely and the rooms were exactly as described. Very cosy and warm. Bed was comfortable. It was also lovely to have the option to purchase very affordable beer and wine from the fridge. I would definitely stay here again.
- Nadia (10/5): Exceptional - it was a great sheep farm experience
- Lianne (10/5): Great hosts and wonderful farm stay. - Great country hospitality. Karen and Steven were excellent hosts. Warm clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed. Great location. We were able to explore the Grampians and did a lovely day trip to the coast. Highly recommend.
- Jenny (4/5): Disappointing. Misleading. - Breakfast inadequate and misleading advertising No kitchen sink or kitchen water supply. Misleading advertising to clients. Glass doors separated clientele from owner’s home. Had to move toaster to bedroom to use. Electricity tripped the power board.. no instructions for switch. All misleading . Portrayed as better than it was. Very disappointing.
