Guest Reviews
- Sian (1/5): Unpleasant flat - The location The flat was smelly the kitchen was unusable due to smell unsure if bedding was fresh no lighting in toilet or shower room asked to be foxed was not the outside has seating area but looked dirty and unable to use the location was great but would look for somewhere else for price
- Raymond (7/5): Not for the fussy - The property was in a nice location. It was spacious and the host was very responsive (best to contact on mo ile rather than via the app.) it is one of the few accommodations that accommodated a group of 5 adults. We literally just needed a place to sleep and shower as we went out for a hen do. The host had the pkace nicely set up with folding beds and a sofa bed to cater to the group. Would definitely consider staying here again. There were a few minor things that can use improvement. Only 4 towels, no liner in the bin, pillows were very thin, one of the folding beds were missing pieces and I almost fell through it, ended up just putting the bed on the floor. I had very low expectations due to previous reviews, but it wasn’t as bad as they said. This of course is coming from a simple backpacker, not fussy and easy going.
- Buddug (4/5): Very dissatisfied - The heating was on- made a huge difference having a warm place to come back to. Location was ideal for all our needs in London. We arrived, and couldn't get in as the landlord had changed the key code number- after contacting him, we were able to use the new number to access the flat. This was unacceptable after a long train journey. We entered the flat and the place had not been cleaned- duvets and towels left on put up beds, dirty crockery and utensils in the sink, rubbish not taken out and no toilet paper
- Yasir (1/5): Stay somewhere else - Location I booked this apartment for five days, and it turned out to be a complete nightmare. We arrived after 3 PM, which was the agreed-upon check-in time, only to find the apartment in an appallingly dirty state. When I contacted the landlord, he admitted that the cleaner hadn't arrived yet and suggested we leave the apartment until 5 PM.
We returned at 6:30 PM, and the cleaning lady was still there, claiming she was almost finished. We noticed there weren’t enough towels, so we mentioned it to her, and she assured us that more towels would be provided the next day. However, once she left, it became clear the cleaning was superficial at best. The floors were dusty and dirty, the kitchenware was unclean and even had hair on it—completely unhygienic.
The apartment’s condition was appalling. Most of the furniture was broken, making it not only uncomfortable but also dangerous, especially for children. There were hazards everywhere that made it feel unsafe to stay in.
The following day, we left early in the morning and returned after 7 PM, only to find that no extra towels had been delivered, and there were no toilet rolls provided. On top of that, the bathroom sink had drainage issues. I contacted the landlord again to report these problems, and he simply told us to leave the keys when we went out the next day so someone could address the issues.
The next day, we left early once more, but upon our return in the evening, we found the keys untouched and no cleaning had been done. Once again, I reached out to the landlord, and his response was dismissive—he suggested we buy our own supplies, promising reimbursement, and assured us the apartment would be cleaned the following day. Unsurprisingly, these promises turned out to be lies.
The entire stay was incredibly disappointing. The lack of cleanliness, broken furniture, unfulfilled promises, and poor communication from the landlord made our stay unbearable. I would never recommend this apartment to anyone.
- Karen (10/5): Perfect for what was required. -
- Elizabeth (1/5): What a dump! DON'T STAY HERE! - I didn't like anything about it except the location. The sheets on the beds were dirty and stained. There were a pile of used, wet towels in the bathroom, with no clean towels evident. There was no soap or toilet paper, in fact the soap dispenser was filled with water. The floor, especially the rug was filthy. The kitchen counters were sticky. No electric kettle or TV. The decor was ugly with the furniture pushed against the walls-the opposite of a homey feel. The description lied, saying there was a view - it's a basement apartment with 2 air shafts for the only natural light. No terrace, as promised, just the concrete floor of the air shafts, which had locked gates preventing anyone from getting out to them. It was so gross I didn't even want to sit down-we left after the first night to a nice hotel across the street. Finally, every time we contacted the owner/manager, he was full on nasty to us. And the Booking.com complaints department was useless. Apparently Booking.com does not vouch for any of the properties on their website and would not even contemplate any kind of refund.
- Romy (1/5): Rudest and most ignorant host I’ve ever spoken to - I found the location was good if we had electricity 🤣 All the broken beds, broken hairdryer, having no electricity and the host hanging up and shouting abuse over the phone when we tried to contact him because he “wanted a night off”
- Margaryta (8/5): Very good - If you need more light in you app. This is not your choise. Would be nice to have tea or coffee No even salt. Looks a bit different and will be ok no more for 2 people But my stay was ok
- Olamaria (5/5): Passable - I read the opinions before and it was all true. The lack of cutlery, dirty floor and carpets (the socks were almost black after walking without shoes), no mirror in the corridor and very heavy one bed. I was aware of those conditions but it looks that the landlord does not intend to change anything in the flat. Nevertheless, the location is really good and for the very short stay it can be an option if you do not want to spend a lot of money for accomodation.
- Lisa (7/5): Good - We asked to leave our bags before check-in and were given the keys at 10.30 am. Great, as we were travelling with kids. The apartment was warm. Good location would stay again. No forks
- Yvonne (7/5): Good - The location was very convenient to Paddington Station, with many amenities around. There was a lot of mold issues in the bedroom and bathroom.
- Marili (7/5): Good - Location was super, apartment was warm and cozy There was 5 of us,but in the apartment there were only 3 coffee mugs and 4 forks and no cutting board or oven mitts or a sharp knife(other wise the kitchen was great)
- Chiara (7/5): Well located flat in Paddington - The flat is ideally located, very near Paddington station and perfect for getting around London, there are several tube lines and bus stops within walking distance, as well as some restaurants, bars and pubs. It has a large bathroom for London standards with a tub/shower, sink and a washing machine, with a separated room with toilet and another sink, which is useful if you are a bigger group (we were 4, and we managed to get ready in the morning quite rapidly!). There is also a large, furnished kitchen. Overall a lot of space (considering London) for a nice price. The flat is in the basement, therefore it has a tendency to be a bit humid and not really luminous (however there are large windows and many lights). The only access to the flat is a narrow metal spiral staircase, which could cause an issue if you have large suitcases. The bathrooms could both use some minor renovations (there was no mirror in the toilet, and the shower head was really heavy and a times it could not stand properly). There was a mishap upon our arrival, as there was an issue with the check in times listed on booking and no one was there to give us the keys, but it was resolved rather quickly.
- Iwona (10/5): Exceptional -
- Silvio (1/5): Appartment not ready until 9pm and host did not refund as promised - Nobody was there upon arrival at 6pm and we had to wait until 9pm to final get into the appartment together with the cleaner who spent 15 mins for the cleaning so you can imagine how well that was done. While I can accept that things may go wrong the host never refunded the dinner that he promised which is an absolute no go.
Important to know that the appartment is in the basement and you have only lightwells to get daylight. Due to that is quite humid and not very cozy there.
- Marta (5/5): Passable - Location was good The apartment was not clean. No hand soap in the bathroom.
The description said it had two bathrooms, and it's just one.
- Munther (1/5): Not recommended at all for living and the owner was so rude - I have booked this apartment for 2 nights for my family in London but when I reached the property I was surprised!!
contacted the owner of the property regarding the bad condition of the apartment specially the apartment was not clean and there was stains and hairs on the bed sheets, blankets plus the bad conditions of the furniture.
I had no option other than booking another hotel and paying high charges for the rooms because it was last minute and couldn’t keep my kids an family staying outside the road as the apartment was not good for living.
Until now I have not received my refund nor a call back from the property owner and for me it was the worst experience ever.
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb -
- Júlia (8/5): Pleasant staying! I would come back - 1. Location is perfect. You are close to the train/metro station and also served with 24hrs bus from the city center
2. Host was really nice and supported us extra towels and everything we needed
3. Several tools in the kitchen
4. Apartment was safe, clean and close to nice restaurants
5. PERFECT FOR FAMILIES Small details, that wouldn't impact my future staying:
1. Coffee machine doesn't work and there is not kitchen seasonings (like salt and sugar)
2. Outsides were a bit dirty. I didn't mind much since inside the apartment was really clean
- Umar (10/5): Excellent - The owner was very attentive to all our needs even though our airline messed us up. He was still considerate and was accommodating to our needs. Lack of microwave and a place to dry the clothes after washing.
- Worldwildexplorers (7/5): Convenient location, good for group - LOCATION! Right around the corner from Paddington lift. Very nice with suitcases. The host was friendly. Washing machine was a godsend when we figured out how to turn it on (there is a switch on the other side of the wall in the living room). Two nice foldout cots plus sofabed plus queen bed--plenty of places to sleep. Entrance hall was a large and had room for all our suitcases. Also, this was a last minute reservation so they were very accommodating. Took a while for host to meet us at apartment to hand over keys. A lockbox would have been welcome. As overpacking Americans, we had a little trouble getting down the outdoor, narrow, spiral stairway. Pack light for this place! Back bedroom was tiny, and rain at night was so loud because of the roof material. There was nothing above this room, even though a basement apartment.
- David (9/5): Superb - Great location, can't beat the value for a flat so close to Paddington Station, which has easy access to everything we wanted to do while we were in London. Owner was responsive and very helpful.
- Tolani (5/5): Passable - Nothing Average
- Zoe (8/5): Very good - The apartment is in an easy spot to the paddington train station. very clean, great area!
- Baptist (3/5): Poor - Manger made the process complex and has a attitude.
- Simone (10/5): was really comfortable would recommend - nicely decorated, very tidy has everything I needed I liked everything
- S (8/5): it was nice and pleasant - Nice property, good location
- Kofo (7/5): Lovely stay right opposite Paddington and walkable distance to hyde park. - Perfect location, very comfortable flat and I would book again.
Lots of food and drink options.
Host is very friendly and made me feel at ease straight away. Needs some finishing touches to make it feel more homely, i.e tv and Wi-Fi.
Flat is new so this is understandable.
