- Anna (10/5): - An excellent apartment with a very attentive host. Special thanks for the bathroom, which was sparkling clean. There is a supermarket very close to the apartment, so in the mornings we bought groceries there and saved money on breakfast. The bus stop is a 3-minute walk away, and the metro is a bit farther, but still nearby. We definitely recommend this apartment.❤️
- Marcia (7/5): - Matteo was wonderful in helping and explaining everything, he sent recommendations for places to go and eat and was available to answer all questions The place was a bit dusty and the pull out bed in the couch is a bit stained
- Erica Neidin (10/5): - Beautiful apartment with amazing decor. Everything was clean and perfect. The host was very kind and gave us great recommendations. The location is super convenient. Highly recommend!
- Nicoletta (10/5): Siamo stati benissimo ottima posizione - Posizione e pulizia
- Sabrina (10/5): - The kindness and availability of Romeo, who managed our check in, the space, which was clean and comfortable. Good shower and well furnished.

- Roberta (8/5): -
- Blanka (10/5): - Design and vibe of the place is fantastic.
- Nathalie (9/5): - The apartment had everything you could want during a stay. We used the kitchen every day and we ran a wash n the washing machine. Everything worked very well. Its close to bus, train, and metro but far enough away from city centre so you dont hear city traffic. The hosts were welcoming, funny, and helpful. The decor was well done, with whimsy and good design in every part of the apt. The only tiny thing to mention is that the bed curved down a little bit on the 2 sides but we slept very well anyway. There are bakeries below the building. We heard people talking at night so had to put the Air condioner on to cover.
- Luigi (10/5): Ottima posizione, appartamento grande e confortevole -
- Fabio (9/5): -
- Didier (10/5): - Emplacement , déco sympa . Manque double vitrage
- Debbie (10/5): We would definitely stay there again. - The apartment had a lot of unique touches. It was very comfortable and the air conditioning works well. We appreciated that as Rome was quite hot. Our host was very helpful. The toilet takes several pushes to flush but once we figured that out it was fine. The neighborhood is not the nicest but once you figure out the bus schedule we managed to get into Rome pretty easily.
- Marily (10/5): Excellent place, location and Great Host. - The apartment is gorgeous, well-cleaned and comfortable. My daughter was very happy with the retro theme.
Matteo met us when we arrived, he was very attentive and kind, and gave us a wine bottle that we appreciated a lot because it helped us to relax after a long day. Nothing, everything was really good.
- Ayca (8/5): It was nice and aowner was super nice and helpful, recommended - Property and owner was nice, pretty much everything you need, you can find at the house. It was close to colesseum but a bit far away from the center. Second bed could be better
- Ahmed (10/5): It is a lovely place. - The location is on average 5 minutes walking to bus stations that take you everywhere. The bus goes to the metro station, but you can also walk up to the metro in 12 minutes. The property is modern and comfortable. An AC in the summer heat is a must! The washing machine and iron were also handy. The access to the apartment door can be nicer. The location is near buses, but not a walking distance to any attractions.
- Gisella (5/5): Passable - Decor was nice, location was great, towels and sheets were clean Air conditioning unit in main room is not big enough for the room: it would not bring the temperature below 30 for two days, my daughter could not sleep on the Sophia as it was too hot; kitchen needs more amenities (simple ones!), such as kitchen towels, a tablecloth or similar, detergents; bed frame in main bedroom was flimsy/broken on one side; website says free parking in the area, but person who met us directed to a private garage first, and we were completely left on our own on how to park on the street; bakery downstairs most likely makes the apartment hotter than it would otherwise be (even the cold water from the faucets was warm!).
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - We had a wonderful experience at the apartment. It is located in a very good, quiet area, we felt safe in the neighborhood even late at night.
The apartment is in walking distance from bus stops, metro B and Ostiense train station, we had no issues reaching Fiumicino Airport really early in the morning.
The apartment was clean, had AC and we had no complaints with our stay.
- Dmitrii (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lillian (10/5): Exceptional -
- Milos (9/5): amazing place with unique design and great location - unique design thin window glass
- Or (9/5): Superb -

- Yanhely (9/5): GAZ HOME RETRÒ is a cute, affordable and picturesque chill spot in the heart of Ostiense. - Matteo was very kind and accommodating when giving us our keys. He also had a really nice gift for us. His brother, Emiliano kept in touch with us through Whatsapp to coordinate everything. He recommended amazing places to eat and gave us many tips that made our stay really comfortable.
The apartment is very appealingly decorated. It has a young vibe but it's still very comfortable. Air conditioning was top-notch and even though my husband and I slept in a sofa bed (we left the bigger bed for my mom and daughter), everyone was very comfortable.
Keep in mind you'd be staying in Ostiense, so you'd be getting a direct view of a hard-working town with great restaurants within walking distance. We highly recommend The Restaurant of Luca and Marianna. The Uber (and Freenow) rides in and out of Rome's center and Vatican City were reasonable ($20-$30) and there's public transportation in and out that's extremely easy to access. The size of the shower and the bathroom in general were rather small, but manageable. Other than that, the place is great.
- Conrad (10/5): Exceptional - Very welcoming and met with a bottle of wine. The apartment is quirky, well maintained and a great place to stay
- Erin (9/5): Unique apartment a little off the beaten path - Spacious, clean, comfortable bed, AC in bedroom and living room, well equipped kitchen, great communication, welcome bottle of wine :) interesting neighborhood. It's a bit of a walk from the closest metro (10 min to Pyramide), but we knew that in advance. The windows are old and you can hear everything going on outside. It didn't bother us because we're used to it but it might be a problem for others.
- Wesselin (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect, a very beautiful apartment, good location, very good and fast communication. We really enjoyed it and would love to come back.
- Genc (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tarmo (10/5): Exceptional - Stylish, clean, cool, funky. Even after 2 days could not figure out how the toilet button really works. It works but very strange solution. 😀
- Redearthz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jaber (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ge (7/5): Nice apartment - + Location not bad, 15min walk to the subway Pyramid where you can see the city wall, the gate and the Pyramid
+ Staff treat us nice, things went easy and straight
+ Nice decorating in the Apartment - Was really loud during the night, you can hear every motorbike screaming with their little motor
- Unfortunately no cloth to wipe the water from washed dishes available
- Priscilla (10/5): Great stay, great apartment, amazing hosts! lots of space and perfect for our little family. - The hosts were amazing, helped us bring all our luggage and stroller up the stairs, they were so kind to even wait until after midnight to give us the keys and show us around the apartment. They were amazing and totally gracious hosts. Thank you for the stay- we would totally come back again. We had a little bit of allergies from the apartment, maybe from a dog or cat from a previous stay. Other than that we loved access to the fresh pastries and how it was easy it is to walk everywhere from there.
- Mithun (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location, very clean and as per photos .
Value for money.
- Robinson (7/5): Nice apt. Trashy neighborhood. Ghetto. - Great apt. Ghetto, poor neighborhood. Trashy. Noisy from late night partiers.
- Joseph (8/5): Very good - Comparatively large sized 1 br apartment that aims for and delivers a funky vibe. Ideal for those, like us, who wish to be convenient to center city sites but avoid the tourist congestion. Returning each evening we enjoyed experiencing an authentic Roman lifestyle including a vast option of non-tourist restaurants. 10 minute walk (flat terrain) to the Piramide metro (to city center) and Ostiense (to airport). By US standards the area could appear “gritty” to some suburban/rural folks (compared to the more polished and expensive neighborhoods) with an abundance of graffiti, though is safe. While we use earplugs for home and travel, we did not appreciate the bakery staff (store below) who take a (cigarette) break on the sidewalk below the bedroom window and chat to loud, albeit for short periods. On weekends, anticipate late night city activity / noise.
- Yaakov (8/5): Very good -
- Strahinja (10/5): Great Apartment, 10 of 10 - Apartman is so so cool, very clean and good equipment. Only thing I would find is lack of espresso machine, but you have bar on 50m from entrance so it's not a big deal
- Werner (9/5): Nice retro apartment - Decor On top of a bakery
- Tzubi (8/5): Very good - It is very well equipped one-bedroom apartment suitable for 2-4 people. Near to metro station Piramide. With taxi to the center is 12 - 15 euro. You need do download itTaxi app. There is a lot off good restaurants nearby and also a good supermarket. 1. The air conditioner in the living room is not strong enough and can not cool the space.
2. There is a problem with flushing the water in the toilet. You have to press the button several times harder and very quick.
3. The windows are very old and the outside noise is coming in the room as there is no window at all. I suggest to use outside window blind, which helps a lot to stop the noise.
- Sebastian (10/5): Exceptional - Like other people already mentioned it's a great place. The owner really put a effort to make this apartment a special place. But there is more to say. The kitchen is very good equippt and there is a really good bakery around the corner. You can make yourself a perfect breakfast or cook some fresh pasta in the evening . Also the location is very good. Bus and subway is easy to reach and you find a lot of restaurants around.
After a day you feel like a local. Thanks to Emiliano...
Highly recommended!!
- Pete (10/5): Exceptional - This is a funky apartment that we enjoyed very much. it is well equipped and comfortable, and close to many restaurants, bars and cafes. Also an easy short walk to the metro (Piramide station) and a regional train station (Ostiense) for an easy trip to the airport. Others should note that the apartment is in a residential Roman neighborhood, which is a bit run down by non-Roman standards but is safe and friendly, and short walk into Testaccio or a bit further to Trastevere , two cool neighborhoods. The main sights are not nearby, but they are all pretty easy access via metro and a short walk. This wasn’t a negative for our visit, I note it here for others for whom this might be a bigger consideration.
- Paul (9/5): We had a great time in Rome and the apartment was excellent for us. - Quirky apartment in a non-touristy area. The apartment was quite hot due to hot weather and the bakery underneath. Lovely smell of freshly baked bread though.
- Roman (10/5): Home away from home - Very comfortable and amazingly decorated place for a family of 4. Very good WiFi, comfortable beds, fridge, air conditioners in both bedroom and living room, washer (which we used after 4 days in Rome to have a fresh set of closes for our cruise), all utensils needed for quick family meals. It truly felt like a "home away from home". Property is located about 7 minute walk from the train station to take you either to Roma Termini or Roma S. Pietro (about 5-10 min train ride to either), or to Civitavecchia (about 1 hr ride). There are a few good restaurants nearby. The Carrefour supermarket is 4 minutes walk - it was very convenient to get yogurts, milk, and fruits for the kids. Noise from outside at night, although it's an issue with every large city. The old-style single pane windows don't dampen the noise much at all (but they provide a unique charm to the place).
- Stefan (10/5): Excellent apartment for 3-4 people, with an extremely interesting interior. - Everything was very clean, well organized. The host was very kind. When it comes to the interior, this is perhaps the most interesting Booking accommodation I've ever taken. All recommendations! I have no objections.
- Babak (5/5): I don’t suggest - The location was very noisy and the biggest problem was the electricity problem where all the lights and electricity went off more than 5 times.
- Miroslav (10/5): Exceptional - best Host ever. people like Emiliano should run hotels.
- Sašatabaković (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lilli (10/5): would definitely stay here again when we return to Roma…. thank you Emiliano 😊 - so clean comfy and tasteful. and Emiliano was so kind and helpful.
- Svitlana (10/5): Amazing - Absolutely stunning place, every detail in apartment make it so unique and cool . There is a lot of nice restaurants around, city centre is close by, walking distance to Coliseum. Flat is clean and cozy with creative design. It is a place where you want to come back .
Emiliano is wondering host , he met us with his charming smile and bottle of wine . He gave us recommendations about nice restaurants and how to move around easily . None
- Reuben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zanna (10/5): Exceptional - Great place to stay. Everything is there and thought of.
- Aliiotama (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jarmila (10/5): Exceptional - GAZ HOME RETRÒ is an excellent place with fascinating design. The kitchen in the apartment is equipped with all you need; you can even find some basic things such as a bottle of wine;), tea, coffee, etc. A good point for Rome’s summer days is the air-conditioning. It is not far from the city centre, and the surrounding is full of bars and restaurants. From the owner, I got tips about the places to eat in the neighbourhood. Also, he organized the taxi shuttle for me from and to airport. Next time arriving in Rome I will surely stay in this place. non
