Guest Reviews
- Tina (7/5): Would I stay again - No - Good location The rooms were hot ! The fans don’t do justice on a warm day. The second fridge frosted all our drinks and food and we had to throw it away. Very disappointed - We requested for a toaster and it only fits crumpets it was that small
- Kathy-jo (7/5): Short stay okay ! - The place was adequate, lovely spacious living area. Two fridges which would be a huge bonus for long stays with a house full ! King sized bed needs a mattress upgrade, bare minimum invest in a memory foam mattress topper. The room needs a bed lamp for reading and a rack for hanging as there is no wardrobe. The TV in living area needs an instruction manual for ease of operation, not everyone has Foxtel to understand the protocol to get the tuning. Kitchen - needs a couple of oven racks for heating food on, a teapot and a plunger pot for coffee. Quite a few of the coffee cups had huge chips on them which rendered them useless. The back yard needs a good tidy up we found the area very uninviting. Overall the place is satisfactory but a bit pricey for three adults at $250 a night. Probably a better choice for large families, we chose the place for three separate bedrooms.
- Jade (5/5): No linen, no soap - BYO everything! - Easy access and good location for where we needed to go. 11 of us travelled from interstate for a funeral in Edithburgh. As it was last minute, the only available property that would fit us was red/blue door retreat (we hired both houses). It wasn’t very clear in the listing that all bedding and towels, along with basics like soap wasn’t included. We enquired and they suggested we hire linen from an external supplier. Instead of going with that option, we added luggage to our flights to bring the linen required. Then, when we arrived we found that the beds DID have bed covers, but didn’t have sheets (which meant we didn’t have to bring so much stuff and pay additional luggage fees). Along with that, the houses weren’t particularly well maintained or cleaned (especially given the “cleaning fee” is $200+).
I think soap for showers is a very basic requirement, along with linen if you’re going to rent out your house, so overall the stay was quite disappointing.
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Isabella (8/5): Very good -
- Natsko (4/5): Basic Necessities Not Provided - Easily accessible. There wasn’t any towels provided. The doonah covers seems unwashed due to the smell, and no fitted sheets provided, only mattress protector. There wasn’t enough toilet rolls provided for 10 people staying for 3 nights (only 2 toilet rolls were provided). There wasn’t any bathroom mats nor bathroom hand towels provided. These are basic neccessities are normally provided by most accommodation, Red Door Retreat have neglected to provide the basics.
- Sue (7/5): Good -
- Alma (7/5): Overall, it was in a great location close to the town and to local fishing spots. - Location great! The facilities were clean and was plenty of room for 5 adults. There are some maintenance issues which made the stay a little inconvenient - broken pipe on the outdoor sink area (had issues in keeping this area clean and not allowing water to run into the yard next door); cracked hotplate (unable to use this particular hotplate when cooking); vacuum cleaner hose broken (only able to clean the indoor mat while on hands and knees).
- Quoc (9/5): Nice place to stay. Many thanks 😊 - Like big space, garden, nice, clean . It’s good if we a chop stick.
