Guest Reviews
- Caroline (9/5): A great apartment with a lovely host. - The apartment is really comfortable and well equipped. It had everything we needed, including plenty of cooking equipment, good quality crockery and glasses, really comfortable beds etc. The location is great, just a minute or two walk to the bars and restaurants of Horseshoe Bay, and it was perfect for skiing at Cypress mountain, as it is so close. Alerted met us when we arrived and was very helpful and welcoming. I would definitely book again. Nothing
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - Valerie is a lovely lady who went above and beyond hosting us at Ferry Walk House -- she even shoveled the walk when it snowed! We look forward to seeing her again at a future visit. She was quite gracious, friendly, and accomodating to us and our dogs, providing blankets for them to lie on and making sure we were cozy during the long cold snap of our 3-week stay. The quilt bedspreads were gorgeous and the fluffy duvets encouraged sleeping in on the comfortable mattresses. Not only did she leave lots of tourist brochures and maps but also responded quickly to questions such as about walking onto the ferries and suggested good parks for walking the pups aside from the pleasant neighborhood. So many places to enjoy taking them, including Lighthouse Park, Bowen Island whose main restaurant near the dock is dog friendly, Ambleside Park, the Seaview Trail, Cypress Falls, and the Horseshoe Bay waterfront park where we got to see two seals frolicking on the first day. It was super convenient and motivating to be staying steps away from the ferries, yet surprisingly peaceful instead of the ferry noise we expected. Super convenient to be able to hop on a ferry to Nanaimo, drive into Vancouver, or head off to Whistler, whichever way your mood points you. Relaxing in town is also charming with its mountain and bay views. It's easy to walk around to various good restaurants, a well-stocked grocery store, independently owned shops, services like a hair salon and dog grooming, a pharmacy, wine and spirits store, multiple coffee shops though Blenz was our go-to pick-me-up when we wanted a treat. Eating in was also a pleasure because Valerie had the kitchen stocked with all the tools and appliances we needed to cook for ourselves and make our coffee/tea just the way we like it. We also took the opportunity to to experiment with her other coffee maker gadgets and were pleased to find the pans and measuring cups for baking banana bread and cookies. Like a home away from home.
- Paul (10/5): Valarie is a superb host always checking in to ensure you have everything you need. - Great location, very clean filled with everything could need. N/a
