Guest Reviews
- KarenSR (8/5): Great stop over on the Adelaide-Sydney drive with the pooch. Secure yard for him to enjoy -
- Ray (8/5): Only stayed one night so did not use many kitchen facilities but the bathroom was great. -
- Hobson (8/5): Very comfortable stay in a lovely cottage. Reminded me of my grandparents house. - Beautiful retro cottage, very well decorated. Reminiscent of mid century living.
- Inglis (9/5): -
- Danielle (8/5): -
- Kathy (10/5): If Hay is the place you need to stop at during your journey then this is the place to stay - I loved everything about this place. Clean, comfortable and utterly delightful. A closed in yard so my dog could run around. I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone and everyone There was nothing to not like. It was fabulous
- Patsy (9/5): Our stay was short but enjoyable. - It was lovely to have a quiet comfortable place to relax after our long drive. All information provided was clear and the facilities adequate. The shower was great as was the bed. The location was good, easy to find. Nil
- Davis (10/5): -
- Diane (9/5): Comfortable and good value for overnight rest. - Very comfortable overnight stay after a long day’s driving. So quiet, away from traffic noise. Super comfy big bed, hot shower and well equipped kitchen for making breakfast. We’ll definitely stay again on no ur next trip.
- Nicole (8/5): A great cottage for an overnight stay on our road trip from Adelaide to Sydney. - Clean, spacious, dog friendly.
- Tasha (10/5): I would 10000% stay here again 10/10 - Everything I was so impressed with everything! The stay with my little doggie was perfect from the long drive from
Mildura. The bed was comfortable. The shops local, the garden enclosed, available washing machine and dryer with powder and everything provided! I had a lovely bath with free bath salts
Considering the price was the same I paid for a motel the night before in Mildura I was very impressed!! Creaky and not soundproof you can hear all the noises outside quite loudly
- Lester (8/5): - We have a pet. Ideal location away from noisy traffic and big yard to wander and investigate Nothing to worry us. Just on aged side
- Shetty (7/5): The house was cosy and comfortable, with a spotless bathroom and a hot shower that had excellent water pressure. The enc - A cosy home featuring a very clean bathroom and a hot shower with excellent pressure. A fantastic enclosed yard where my fur baby could safely run and play leash-free. The fold-away bed for the third guest was a bit wobbly and not very comfortable for my adult son, so he ended up placing the mattress on the floor to sleep.
After a long drive, a more supportive option (such as a sturdier bed or a sofa bed with a mattress topper) could make a big difference for guests’ comfort.
- Shay (7/5): Comfortable for a stop over - The property was comfortable for what we required and not bad for a nights stop over. The bed was very comfortable and the amenities all worked, we were comfortable enough. They make you sign a lease agreement prior to staying in this property. The property was good for what we needed but not in the best condition, nor in walking distance from the town if you require that, fully fenced, but not blocked off underneath the house. The kitchen equipment wasn’t very clean and there was remnants of pets that had previously stayed at the property, which is disappointing considering they charge an extra cleaning fee for pets.
- hoobr002 (10/5): - New bathroom renovation is a much needed improvement since our first stay a few years ago. Makes property much better

- Michelle (10/5): Lovely place to stay, has everything you could want. A good one if you have pets. - Was such a lovely place, great for my large dog as it is fenced all the way around. It was a warm day and we had travelled all day so Emily the host had the aircon on for us which was such a lovely gesture. We got take away from local fish and chip shop which was also delicious. Great shower ! Convenient location and quite street. Great communication with host. Would definitely recommend staying here. The air con is in the kitchen area and doesn't quite make it to main bedroom. My adult daughter that was traveling with us was on fold out bed which is set up in the kitchen / dining area, which is fine as its a big area. She said the bed was a little uncomfortable, but as it was for one night it was no problem and she was very cold because aircon was on in that room but we needed it on to reach the main bedroom. There is a ceiling fan in main bedroom which was working well. Very small negative compared to the great overall stay
- Laity (8/5): - Cute cottage, easy check-in, plenty of space, comfortable beds
- Lynette (10/5): The vibe was so welcome and it felt so nice - It was so homey and comfortable Nothing is
- Carleen (9/5): - It would be handy to indicate which way the door knob needs to be turned when unlocking the door.
- Roberta (9/5): Comfortable and peaceful and well stocked - Having WiFi
- Steven (10/5): Perfect place to stay and would be suitable for a longer stay - We were driving back to Queensland and needed a place to stay for one night. Saw this cottage and really enjoyed our stay. It was clean, well equipped and close to a number of places to eat with a short drive.
- Doris (8/5): Comfy, cosy cottage stay. - Modern updated interior, very clean spacious bathroom, cosy lounge area with TV. Good size bedroom and comfortable bed, nice linen. Many facilities available, good instructions around on how to work equipment, TV AC, etc nice quiet area away from main road. Very plain exterior, in large garden. Perhaps paint could be updated inside and out to really make it stand out.
- John (7/5): Don’t judge a book by it’s cover because inside is very comfortable. - The place looks a bit old & tired from the outside but inside has been renovated & it was very comfortable. Good value for money
- Jordan (10/5): - Cleanliness, plenty of room, air con, comfy beds, great bathroom Not much
- Scott (8/5): - The cottage was clean and comfortable. The garden is well secured so my dog was able to wonder around freely without me worrying about her. Loved the little extra items provided for my comfort. I would have preferred to park my car within the property as it was loaded with personal items and had to stay out on the road.
- Thorpe (8/5): - The homely touches in bathroom and kitchen. The mattresses were on the soft side for comfort when used to firmer mattress. Otherwise very comfortable stay.
- Scheffler (10/5): - Quite and lovely place
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Alisonskev (10/5): -
- Janet (10/5): It was a lovely stopover on our trip to Queensland - It had everything we needed for our one night stay Nothing
- Judi (10/5): Had a lovely stop over. We enjoyed immensely. Will be staying here again. - The Atmosphere. I was very comfortable. Lovely to be able to take our small dogs with us. Nil
- Naomi (10/5): A stopover we look forward to everytime. - It is a great place to stay
- Ivan (10/5): -
- Kathy (5/5): - Easy access, easy to find and clean. Arrived after 8 hour drive to 37degrees. at 3.30 ish. Previous reviews mentioned how lovely it was to go into a cool/ac place. The ac was not on, the house was like an oven. The curtains in the bedroom were open and the main bedroom did not cool down for my husband to try and go to sleep until about 11pm. I slept in the kitchen on a foam mattress and portable bed that rocked every time I moved. The bathroom was lovely but keeping the door closed to get the house to cool down and it was just as hot as the bedroom. Oh and I think it should be stated a bit more clearly that there is NO WIFI in the description just not leave it out.
- Mete Han (8/5): - It was a nice house for stopover.
- Gordon (10/5): - Best pet friendly accommodation we have stayed in
- Naomi (10/5): The cosiest home in Hay! - We love our stays here. Such a lovely place to stop and rest!
- Shylie (3/5): The hosts have worked very hard to make a comfortable stay - Location, bathroom, comfy couch and bed
Bowls for our dog Aircon was great in kitchen but the bedroom was a hot box on 39 degrees day. Another unit in the lounge area r bedroom would be fantastic
- Callum (9/5): -
- Jan (10/5): - Thank you for a very comfortable stay, lovely little Cottage. We will certainly stay here again.
- Kristina (10/5): Loved it. - The cottage was very nice and well maintained.
- Rodney (9/5): A great place if you’re just passing through or staying longer. - It was easy to access the place. The house was very clean & the bed was large & very comfortable. The bathroom was clean & modern, wish I’d had time to have a bath. The yard is really big & well maintained, which is great if staying there with pets.
- holmes (10/5): - I travel regularly as a remote nurse with 2 little dogs. It was such a treat to be able to relax with the dogs exploring a clean, grassy, safe yard. And what a bonus to have the sweetest little clean, qiuet and comfortable cottage to rest up in. I loved it all
- Kylie Linford (10/5): - It was very cosy little house The dog barking
- Laity (8/5): -

- Angela (10/5): - This really was such a cosy and comfortable place to stay! Exceptionally clean and with everything we needed. The host was very friendly and always quick to respond to all of our queries. We'll definitely stay again next time we visit Hay
- Dennis (8/5): - The quiet area. The shower. Water pressure was excellent. Was all very clean with many little extras. And the bed was very comfortable. The aircon was great too. 35 degrees outside and the whole cottage was comfortable inside. Very small couch and way too many decorative pillows on the bed.
- TONY (9/5): -
- Robert (8/5): Perfect for a short stay when travelling a long distance - Initially the home looked untidy outside but was good inside
- Sandra (9/5): Second time we have stayed and perfect for our needs, very comfortable - New bathroom is excellent and large yard great for dog

- Craig (8/5): Excellent stay for the price and very clean - Good yard for the dog Shower head a little short for my husband but he is tall
- Chantelle (8/5): - I had a lovely relaxing stay here with my two little dogs. It was great to have a secure yard for the dogs to run around and explore while i sat outside with a cup of coffee. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had everything I needed to cook a meal. Good value for money. The only thing missing was wi-fi access.
- Ian (9/5): - We arrived after long day drive in 36c to find aircon on and Cottage an immediate relief, clean ,comfortable and a quiet location. Our small furry friend had a well manicured yard to explore Nothing

- Teresa (9/5): Very comfortable and a lovely quiet spot. - Very comfortable and excellent communication. Bathroom's a bit cold but very well appointed.
- Stephen (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay and would be looking to stay there again when in the area - Located in a quiet lane, it was a very peaceful place to stay. The unexpected extras on arrival were appreciated. The heater was on, making it perfect to settle & relax. It was not the easiest place to find, but well worth it.
- Yvonne (8/5): Exceptional value for a very comfortable stay - The cottage was spacious, included a washing machine and a good yard for our small dog to explore.
The host was very helpful by sending messages and thoughtful by having the heater on when we arrived on a cold day. Would have been nice to be able to park the car inside the grounds for security.
- Aida (8/5): -
- kandpeas (7/5): Great for overnight stay - Quiet location, easy to find. Bed was comfy, although a little soft for our preference. Great yard for the furkids, some gaps with fencing need attention for small dogs. Noisy neighbours, maintenance a little lacking - kitchen tap handle kept falling off; dust bunnies and cobwebs in rooms; stove top and oven dirty; cutlery dirty; no power point in bathroom for hairdryer, shaver, toothbrush; shower dripping; couldn't use laundry facilities as they were still in use by housekeeping staff after 3pm.
- Kevin (8/5): Great cottage close to town with everything you need -
- Sandra (7/5): thank you for the milk. overall is pretty good. we could recommend if we are asked. we liked - we have all the facilities, more movies this time to choose, but we found something interesting in the tv Need more deep cleaning in the blinds and top ceiling has spiders.
no wine glasses
- Sandra (6/5): confortable and happy for the price - confortable for the family
cooking facilities.
nice to have oil, salt and pepper as basic cooking needs no milk for the cooking
no wine glasses
water from the bath was smely
- Venkatasubramanian (6/5): Pleasant - Bed was so comfy Kitchen cupboards need an upgrade
- Logan (9/5): Superb - Having the dogs running around fully fenced. Extremely comfortable bed. N/a
- Susan (7/5): Glad I chose a good place to stay. - Location good. Kitchen massive. Bed very comfortable. The toilet being side on.
- Tattianna (1/5): Use discernment - The cleaner was very helpful. The internet booking very poor.
- Daniel (10/5): Lovely cottage with easy check in and great communication - Pet friendly accomodation with a/c and a nice big yard. Check in time was flexible as I was held up and didn’t get in until very late but this wasn’t an issue.
- Lisa (7/5): It was a great location to take a break from a long trip. - It was 40 degrees the day we arrived, and the air conditioning had been turned on in an attempt to cool the house down which was greatly appreciated We also appreciated being able to bring our pets with us, and they appreciated having a yard to explore.
- Liam (10/5): Stayed for a week for work, bed was comfortable. Perfect for a work trip and better then a motel - Everything needed was there Can’t complain about anything
It’s a old house that’s functional yer still comfortable
- Freyja (9/5): Exactly what we needed on our road trip - Super clean and tidy - great stop for the night on the Sydney - Adelaide trek - kids were comfy on the sofa bed (left all ready made even though it was folded up) grateful tired mama here 😊 All was fine - any complaints I saw on reviews before were really missing the fact that this is a cheerful little country cottage in Hay. Go stay on the Gold Coast next time?
