• Roy (9/5): A very comfortable stay with most attentive staff. - Our large room was very comfortable and although the restaurant was shut that evening (being a Sunday) the manager provided us with a very welcome platter of cheese and ham. Breakfast was delicious too. The hotel is in a quiet position and set in attractive grounds. Given the heatwave, a small fridge would have been useful and a swimming pool!

The restaurant food is excellent but some travellers may find it too expensive. There is an exceptional cognac collection ! Absolutely nothing we will definitely return.

• Melanie (9/5): A lovely find with a fine dining type of restaurant. - Booked last minute (same day), easy check-in, staff professional and friendly. We had a lovely room, light and airy and a very comfortable bed too. We were able to eat in the restaurant which was excellent, however it was a little pricey. The quality and presentation of the food was beautiful and tasted gorgeous though. The only negative was the window to the toilet had no curtain and was on the ground floor - it made you feel quite exposed!

• Martin (7/5): Fantastic Restaurant and service in the restaurant but the hotel side of the stay was a let down. - The restaurant, restaurant staff and food, were all fabulous. The balcony in our room was great and the views over the gardens were fabulous. The shower was broken and the floor to the shower was bending and felt like it was going to give way. This was similar to our last stay in 2021. We reported it then, but it seems it is still the same. The sink in the bathroom was broken. the plug did not stay in place to retain water and some days it was stuck so it would not let water out. Although the towels were changed daily, and the bins emptied, the room was not cleaned and bed was left unmade.
• Martin (10/5): We would be very happy to stay here again. - We stayed here on a Sunday so were unable to get dinner ( we were aware of this beforehand so came prepared). The hotel is situated in a very quiet village close to the Charente river and as we were cycling the river its location was good for us. The grounds are really extensive and kept in very good order. Secure storage for our bikes was available and easily accessible ( not always the case.) the breakfast was good and the staff very helpful.

• Carrie (7/5): Good - Beautiful gardens. Private off street parking outside the room. Excellent dinner, particularly the dessert. Room appeared dated, patio areas (outside room and restaurant) run down and shabby. Music coming from the bar area was playing quite late into the night.

• Mary (6/5): A love.y place spoilt by poor service. - We were very impressed when we arrived at this hotel. Our room was spacious and well equipped.we liked the ground floor room and it’s outlook over part of the garden. The grounds to this Hotel are large and very attractive. The outside terrace laid out for dinner was beautifully done. Two main problems; the bed had a plastic type of under sheet that made a crackling sound with every move, and was very hot. The restaurant is let down by its appalling service, had to ask twice for our wine that took over 30 minutes to arrive, starters took a further 20 minute, the our main a further hour. A 7.30 booking finished shortly before 10. Maybe we were unfortunate and it was a very busy night. Certainly the restaurant was very full.
