• Fleur (10/5): Authentiek en superlocatie - Fantastische locatie vlakbij bazaar en kasteel. Hele hartelijke aardige ontvangst. Konden al eerder de kamer in, heel vriendelijk. Mooie kamer met uitzicht, heerlijk bed. Geen ontbijt mogelijkheid maar het is juist superleuk om daar de bazaar voor op te lopen, allerlei mogelijheden daar. Super prijs kwaliteit verhouding

Alexandro was SO friendly and helpful, the street parking was close and convenient, and the winding cobble walks to the hotel were like stepping back in time…so charming!! The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable (we had 3 of the hotel’s 5 rooms)…we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!! Everything was absolutely perfect!!

Het was wat fris ‘s nachts en er was geen extra deken te vinden. Jammer dat ze geen ontbijt serveren, maar dat wisten we van tevoren.

• Cheryl (10/5): Lovely hotel with an old world vibe. - It was so lovely and unique. The rooms were comfortable and retained the old world character of the original building. No breakfast. Maybe pastries in the morning and instant coffee in the room would be helpful. Directions can be difficult. Best to confirm with host. before using Google Maps.

• Ivailo (10/5): Obviously all hotels in Albania are called boutique, so despite of this fact, the Dam hotel is really nice and most impo - We had a small problem with the hot water in the morning, but the guys there managed to turn me from a disappointed into an excited guest! Chapeau! They solved the problem fast, even it was early! The guy at the reception (sorry for not asking the name, man) was so nice and helpful! He really deserves an applause! It is great that you have parking spaces, but try to change with google maps the route planning: it showed me to drive from the main street in the paved street to the top. But didn’t showed the big comfortable street after the bridge.

• Divya (8/5): Great location, comfortable beds, modern hotel - The location of the hotel to the castle was excellent! Very well placed. I appreciated that. The room is comfortable and the facilities are modern. It is tricky to find the place but Alexander was great at directing us and helping us with our bags from the car as its a bit away from the hotel. Excellent service from Alexander. Alexander was helpful with sharing food recommendations and suggesting easy way to walk to the castle and into Girokaster town centre. The room is on the smaller side. It would be nice to comfortably accommodate 2 suitcases in the room so it was tight for that.

• Lea (9/5): Friendly staff, great and calm accommodation and picturesque views. - Super friendly staff that welcomed us and help guide us to the hotel. Amazing views from the room and although small, it is greatly located for hikes, going to the old town and enjoying their little terrace looking out at the valley. The place was great. It would be a plus if breakfast was an option, but as long as you are prepared for this, it let’s you explore more of the town in the morning or n the hunt for breakfast.

• Marc (10/5): A luxurious, beautifully designed hotel with breathtaking views and truly exceptional, caring staff. - DAM Stone Boutique Hotel is an absolute gem—beautifully designed, incredibly comfortable, with breathtaking views and genuinely exceptional staff. The rooms have a beautiful, authentic Ottoman feel, and the views are stunning—across the mountains surrounding Gjirokastër and over the nearby hills and historic buildings. I stayed in early spring, and with the trees in bloom and the weather fantastic, my stay at the hotel was truly mesmerizing. The attention to detail in the design is really amazing. It truly feels boutique—a small number of rooms, tastefully and carefully attended to in every detail to create a harmonious, engaging, and beautiful experience. The comfort of the room was outstanding. The bed is one of the most comfortable I have ever slept on—very luxurious and incredibly welcoming. There is also a lovely patio area where they serve coffee, with amazing views—a lovely place to relax and take in the surroundings. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They picked me up from the bus station, which as a 63-year-old solo traveler with four bags (two of them extremely heavy) was extraordinarily helpful and kind. The husband of the concierge personally carried my luggage through the cobblestone alleyways and stairs to the hotel, and then up to my room, and then again when I left. He was already heading to Përmet for work on the day I checked out and gave me a lift there. The level of care and kindness from the staff is absolutely exemplary. They also provided excellent recommendations for places to eat. Gjirokastër is hilly with cobblestone streets and walkways, and the hotel is positioned about halfway between the Old Bazaar and the castle, making it easy to walk to both. The setting is peaceful, beautiful, and well-situated to walk to both areas. I stayed for five nights and absolutely recommend staying at this gorgeous, lovely boutique hotel with its exceptionally wonderful staff. Nothing—everything exceeded my expectations.

The hotel is in a great location, very near the tourist centre and castle but separate enough to be peaceful and calm. We hadn't realised that there wasn't a breakfast, but that became more fun in the end as we just bought our own pastries and fruit, and sat on the stunning sunny balcony, looking up at the snowy mountain peaks, loving life! The staff are wonderful and went far out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. Really wonderful. Nothing

• Sian (10/5): Our favourite hotel in all of Albania! - Our favourite hotel in Albania! (And we stayed in six different places across the country during our visit). The family owners are just so gorgeous and you really get a feel for how much effort and care they have put into this property. They communicated really well about getting to the location as the map can take you the wrong way but the lady FaceTimed me to direct us and it was perfect and stress free. Her son then greeted us and helped us to the hotel - he was so sweet! The room was simply perfect, really well designed and furnished and clean. Their daughter took our payment and spoke really good English and was able to translate for my partner so he could speak to who I’m presuming was her dad about England. It was perfect! Would have loved to have had a breakfast on the terrace in the morning as it was a gorgeous spot.

• Mandy (10/5): Don’t miss this place! It was the best! - The DAM Hotel was amazing! Beautifully decorated and it was obvious they pay attention to every detail. Arsen went above and beyond with our family of 5. We had booked the family suite (Our teens thought it was so cool!) and we had ample space. The beds are super comfy and we slept like a dream. Coffee on the balcony in the morning and the close proximity to the bazaar and castle were a win! Don’t pass this place up! We usually stay in Airbnb’s because it is easier with a family of 5 however, this was no doubt our favorite place we have ever stayed. Thank you Arsen! You made our stay in Gjirokaster very memorable! Everything was above superior!

• Michelle (10/5): A beautiful place to stay! - Beautiful views from the balcony and bedrooms, perching just under the castle walls, with an easy 5 min walk into the old town with restaurants etc. We travelled in winter and the hotel provided lovely umbrellas and the car parking spot is not too far away either. The hotel was very cosy.

Staff very friendly and welcoming. Lovely to meet the owners who were also welcoming and couldn’t do enough to make sure we were comfortable and happy. We liked everything but parking is more limited than we realised from the description. We did manage to get one of the two spaces and consider ourselves lucky. However, there is parking a little walk away in the centre.

• ALEXANDROS (10/5): - Το δωμάτιο ήταν πολύ όμορφο με ωραία διαρρύθμιση και διακόσμηση, πολύ καθαρό και με εντυπωσιακή θέα. Το ξενοδοχείο βρίσκεται σε ήσυχο σημείο και με 5 λεπτά περίπατο σε ειδυλλιακό πλακόστρωτο δρομάκι παράλληλα του κάστρου βρίσκεστε στο κέντρο με τα μαγαζιά.  Οι ιδιοκτήτες ήταν πολύ ευγενικοί και πρόθυμοι να βοηθήσουν. Οι συμβουλές και οι συστάσεις τους μας φάνηκαν χρήσιμες.  Φαίνεται ότι οι άνθρωποι έχουν μεράκι και ενδιαφέρον για αυτό που θέλουν να προσφέρουν.  Είναι ανεπιφύλακτα μια πολύ καλή επιλογή!

The hoteliers were incredibly friendly and accommodating, they let us check in early since it was a quiet day and even reserved a parking spot for us. On our first night it down-poured, and they kindly checked in on us and left a lovely bottle of local wine. After traveling around Albania for over a week, this was by far the most comfortable bed and pillows we experienced. Overall, we’d highly recommend this charming hotel and the wonderful people who run it. They are genuinely kind and truly hospitable. We’d gladly stay here again. Nothing, our stay was great but a quick tip for future guests: the hotel is inside the fortress, so Google Maps directions aren’t fully accurate. Definitely check in with the hoteliers for guidance if you’re driving!

• Rudens (10/5): - This property is great for an unforgettable stay in Gjirokaster. It is located in a typical iconic neighborhood 2 minutes walk from Old Bazaar and close to the caste too. It is clean, warm and lovely with a nice view. The owner and the staff is very helpful and available during the whole stay!

• Kristin (10/5): Historic newly renovated boutique hotel, great value - This is a charming old hotel that has been beautifully renovated -- with comfortable beds, quaint stone walls, and an excellent bath area. The hotel itself is on the hill next to the fascinating castle and just a short walk to the main shopping/food area. The hotel doesn't offer breakfast, but you can take coffee on a terrace overlooking the valley. We really enjoyed our stay here.
• Regine Marie (8/5): Faszinierende Unterkunft in der Altstadt - Das Hotel liegt fantastisch im oberen Teil der Altstadt Nähe der Burg. Der Blick von der Terrasse und von unserem Fenster aus war wunderbar. Die Angestellten und der Chef waren hilfsbereit und sehr freundlich, unser Zimmer geschmackvoll im landestypischen Stil eingerichtet. Den Alten Basar mit zahlreichen Läden und Lokalen erreicht man in 15 Minuten zu Fuß. Gjirokastra ist eine faszinierende Stadt! Den zum Hotel gehörige Parkplatz fanden wir schwierig zu finden, bekamen aber Unterstützung durch einen der Angestellten.

The staff were really helpful and friendly and there was free coffee. The room was exceptionally tastefully decorated. Once we knew where the parking was it was very nearby. It was really difficult to find on maps arriving by car. We had to get out of the car at an impossibly steep hill and walk up to hotel where they advised it was a different way to parking. We booked the room with the beautiful fireplace specifically but weren’t given that room. I decided as they were kind enough to let us check in early that I wouldn’t dispute that.

• Jessica (8/5): - The location was wonderful. Quiet, with beautiful view, but close to both the bazaar and the castle. It's a lovely old building that's tastefully decorated. Our rooms had a sliding bathroom door that was partially, but not entirely frosted, meaning there was no real privacy in the bathroom. Anyone who expects to be unseen in the shower is out of luck.

• Matthias (10/5): Bezauberndes Berghotel mit mediterranem Charme - Bezauberndes Boutique-Hotel mitten in der Steinstadt Gjirokastra. Das Hotel hat ein paar eigene Parkplätze und liegt super zentral zum berühmten Basarviertel. Dennoch ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Personal ist liebenswert und sehr hilfsbereit. Frühstück wird nicht angeboten. Ist aber angesichts der Nähe zur Altstadt auch nicht notwendig.
• mbio (9/5): Struttura recentemente rinnovata che può ancora migliorare - Posizione ottima vicino al bazar ed al castello; invece per le case torri più famose occorre camminare parecchio in salita. Bella terrazza con vista sulla valle. Caffè e raki a disposizione in terrazza. Bagno grande ed accogliente con mezzo box doccia che permette di non allagare tutto il pavimento, una rarità in Albania... Accoglienza cortese e check-in anticipato, visto che siamo arrivati un po' in anticipo e la camera era già pronta. La camera che ci è stata assegnata è piccola, non aveva il caminetto tipico come da descrizione e soprattutto molto buia perché affaccia sul vicolo sul retro, molto stretto, quindi la vista è su un muro a meno di due metri di distanza. Non c'è stata risposta alla mia richiesta di indicazioni per raggiungere la struttura ed ho dovuto telefonare per avere indicazioni: un po' indaginoso: in realtà non è difficile raggiungere il parcheggio riservato, basterebbe mandare le indicazioni in anticipo e sarebbe possibile arrivarci in autonomia.

• Georgina (10/5): Great location & beautifully designed - Beautifully decorated, very modern but had traditional features. The communal patio area with a coffee machine was a nice touch. Great location - 5 minute walk to the old bazaar & castle access. Just be aware that it’s not easy to get to from the road with heavy suitcases - cobbled street & old steps. I think a nice addition would be a breakfast option of maybe cereals, pastries & fruit.

• mercedes (8/5): - Era muy bonito, tienen zonas comunes con terraza y donde te puedes sentar a tomar un café o un té, mientras ves el paisaje Difícil acceder a él, pero nos llevaron las maletas del coche al hotel y viceversa. No tienen desayuno pero cerca hay un sitio muy bonito, debajo de la mezquita, donde hacen unos desayunos exquisitos.

• Mjedra (10/5): Luxuriöse Unterkunft zwischen Geschichte und Moderne - Es ist eine moderne , saubere und wirklich - auf die Stadt abgestimmte - Unterkunft. Alles wurde bis ins Detail umgesetzt. Die beigen Steinplatten im Bad, die verzierte Mango Holz verzierte Decke mit einer eingravierten Optik gibt dem Raum ein unfassbares Gefühl für die Altstadt. Auf der Terrasse haben wir mit einem Kaffe den Ausblick auf die Berge genossen! Von Duschgel, bis Shampoo, Fön und weiteren Details, war alles in der Unterkunft was man für einen Aufenthalt in Gjirokastra braucht- vorhanden.

• Juan (10/5): A small luxury hotel for the price of a B&B - This is one of the best hotels of our stay in Albania so far! It is a very quaint, quiet, family run hotel that has all the amenities of a luxury boutique hotel. The decorations are impeccable, the views from the terrace and some of the rooms are breathtaking, and the beds and pillows are heavenly. You CAN’T go wrong if you stay here.

Maybe give directions from the main road where hotel is signposted and then super easy to find.

• Anita (10/5): Geweldig! - Alles! Dit hotel is tot in de puntjes verzorgd. Werkelijk geen spatje op de muur, alles even mooi. De hospitality is zeer goed, wij kregen een fles wijn en een raki bij aankomst. Je loopt zo naar het kasteel en de bazaar. Toplocatie! Er zijn 3 parkeerplekken in de buurt voor het hotel.
• Jorn (9/5): Geweldige mensen en een fijne accommodatie! - De eigenaren waren bijzonder vriendelijk. Ze waren bereid om overal mee te helpen. De accommodatie was erg schoon, een goed bed en ook de badkamer was erg schoon en luxe. Eigenlijk was het zo goed als perfect. Het enige waar bezoekers in de toekomst rekening moeten houden is dat ze vooraf de route beschrijving moeten vragen. Google Maps stuurt je anders via een onbegaanbare weg.
• Clara (10/5): Chambre joliment décorée avec une vue splendide - Nous avons passé une nuit magnifique au Dam Stone Boutique Hôtel. Le logement est décoré avec beaucoup de goût, alliant charme et confort. La vue depuis notre chambre était splendide, un vrai plaisir pour les yeux. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la petite terrasse intime, parfaite pour savourer un verre de vin dans un calme absolu. Les hôtes ont été d’une grande gentillesse et très attentifs à nos demandes, ce qui a rendu notre séjour encore plus agréable. Nous reviendrons avec grand plaisir et recommandons chaleureusement cette adresse !

• Brigitte (10/5): - La rénovation et la décoration sont d'un goût parfait, c'est un réel plaisir pour les yeux 😄. Les hôtes sont aux petits soins. L'hôtel dispose de places de parking tout proches (demander sur place). La situation permet d'être au calme bien qu'à proximité des lieux touristiques. Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de possibilités de petit déjeuner, hormis le café offert et bien que des tables soient à disposition et permettent de s'installer avec ses victuailles.
