• Gaybrielle (9/5): Quiet and well priced accommodation option when travelling - Convenient for an overnight stay while travelling. The Cubana is a quiet place to stay only a few minutes from the highway. Close to Nambucca Heads RSL when the Cubana Mexican restaurant is closed on a Monday. Very quick check in.
• Amanda (7/5): Colourful and calm - The lake is nice and they have made an effort with the styling. You can ride alongside the lake off-road into the town beach from this location. The pool spa jets were not working, scheduled to be fixed. You can hear the neighbours TV through the walls if they are inconsiderate and have it too loud.

• William (9/5): Quiet and good value. Great location - Location, set in a very quiet area but also a very short drive to the highway. The staff were really kind and relaxed. The pool and spa were clean and that made the kids happy. Close to a supermarket and petrol station. The bathroom and room lighting are a bit dated and could use an update.

• Deborah (9/5): Loved our overnight stay. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant following the ‘happy hour’. We could only stay one night - Staff were brilliant. Check in was easy. Room was good. Unfortunately, there is a microwave but no toaster or knife to butter bread. If leaving before breakfast it would be handy.

• Vitalii (6/5): - The room was nicely renovated and looked as on the pictures. The bathroom, although not renovated was clean and functional. Easy and fast check in and check out. Complete lack of soundproofing. You can hear everything: your neighbours running their cars, people talking, birds being loud early in the morning. We got interconnected room and could hear our neighbors as if they were in our room, and I'm sure they felt the same.

The Queen room is spacious clean and comfy and the resort facilities are excellent - Pool, spa, lush gardens and lake, and an onsite restaurant. We dined at the Cubana Cantina one night and enjoyed the food and service very much. The garden area outside our room was a little overgrown and there were weeds growing up through the pavers. We have not experienced this before, so hopefully it's a one off. Otherwise our stay was perfect

Arrived and went to have dinner to be told they had a bus load coming in and chef's were only preparing their food. If we wanted to eat there we were told to go back in 2.5 hours. After travelling all day last thing we wanted to do was leave and try to find dinner elsewhere

Across the road from the info centre and boardwalk along the river. The restaurant was a bit of a let down. Was excited for the Mexican food and margaritas. The tacos were average and no margaritas despite the large margarita menu due to having no Tequila 😞 on a Friday at 6pm.

• Cathy (6/5): OK for an overnight stay - Location is quite good, close to main road. The room was big. Dog friendly. They provided an extra sheet to cover the sofa. Restaurant on-site. The only sink was just outside the bathroom with the kettle and microwave. There were mugs provided, but no other crockery or any cutlery. We had a balcony, but there were far too many old leaves and dirt out there to use it. There were block out curtains, but so much of the backing had come off that they looked grotty. We ate at the restaurant there. The food was nice. The waiter was unsure about our table that we had reserved, so we sat at an undressed old weathered outside table.

No cultery or plates in rooms. Shower pressure wasn't even between taps. Tineist bit of hot but then needed lots if cold to get to good temp. Continental breakfast was $15 for 3 slices of toast. Also wasn't made clear it wasn't included in room cost

I think they come in as the room is on the ground floor. If there was a spray it would have been easier for us to get rid of it.

• Ros (10/5): Peaceful and comfortable - A little oasis on the edge of the town with great facilities of bar and restaurant if we just wanted to stay there in the evening. Our room had a patio area overlooking the lily pond and loved the Lace Monitors running around the garden .

On arrival the receptionist told me breakfast was $15 per adult only, when we arrived for breakfast both our children were charged $15 each too.

• Deanne (9/5): Serene surrounds - Cubana staff were friendly and extremely helpful from the moment we arrived. The place is cheerful with wonderful gardens. The room was very clean and very comfortable. The rooms have private small outdoor areas that were wonderful to sit and have a morning coffee taking in the serenity of the grounds listening to the birdsong.. Loved watching the ducks and lizards. It is near a main road but in saying this the noise was minimal outside and. Once the room doors were shut you couldn't hear it at all.
