Guest Reviews
- Stenfy (10/5): - Staff were extremely friendly, professional and helpful. Rooms were very cozy and spacious enough, with room heater. View from the extended closed balcony was amazing. Breakfast was filling and tasty. We wish we could stay even longer. Location is also just 5 mins to Paro town in a cab.

- Jeremy & Masami (10/5): Relaxing spot above Paro - Some people may think Dzi Pema is too far from the city center for their liking, but I think the location is one of the highlights of the place, mostly because the views are great and you get a feel for the local community! I also enjoyed the walk to and from the city center, even though the return trip is of course uphill. :-) Besides the location, the staff are really friendly, relaxed, and caring; the resident dog is super cute and loving; the rooms range from spacious to very spacious (if you are lucky enough to get a room with one of the glass-enclosed balconies); the beds are comfy; there's plenty of hot water; and you can get in touch with the staff whenever you need to. I liked Dzi Pema so much that I stayed there at the beginning of my trip to Bhutan and decided to book it again for the end of my trip. I would definitely stay there again! The WiFi could be better, but in general Bhutan doesn't seem to have the strongest Internet connections. Also, on some nights you hear incessant dog barking, so you need to be prepared for that. I slept great every night, however, so that problem can be overcome. Breakfast was different every day, with some offerings better than others. In general, the food situation has a lot of room for improvement. :-) No place is perfect, right?
- Harry (9/5): Lovely - Very friendly and welcoming staff . Well appointed. Lovely views over Paro.
Great breakfast and coffee and lovely stay thank you.
- Aamir (10/5): A visit to remember - The hot stone bath was definitely something we looked forward to after a long day. The staff were extremely nice and cheerful.
Additionally , they had organised a private camp fire just for us. In the cold weather, this became the way we celebrated our night. Out doors in 4°C but still warm and filled with laughs. The double bed was smaller than queen size so it was pretty uncomfortable for two people
- Eva (10/5): Serene home above Paro with fantastic team - We stayed here the last night of our brief visit in Bhutan in order to be somewhat close to the airport before a very early flight. While at first it may appear a little outside of the city due to being higher up, there is walkable shortcut down to the center. Taxis are plentiful and very affordable. As a landmark you can say in the vicinity of the hospital. You have a vast view of the valley and Rinpung Dzong. We felt very well received by the young and polite team. This was the only room in Bhutan which was warmed up prior to our arrival. Drinking water was plentifully provided. The beds were very comfortable and there is a serene glass-enclosed balcony to take in the view or meditate. Throughout the property there were nods to serenity like a meditation area or a library overlooking the valley. The food is fantastic, very fresh and to a large extend home-grown. Loved the spinach and mushrooms. Though it may not be an obvious choice due to the location being a little out of the center, I highly recommend Dzi Pema for the kind and sincere hospitality.
- Sajjath (7/5): - Neat rooms. Restaurant service is poor.
Except the girl in the reception who always greeted us with a charming smile, the others were tight faced. The chef girl was alwys in a hurry to leave as she said she has to travel much to her home and as such we have to finish our dinner by 8 pm latest.
After three such instances, we had to have our dinner from outside. Hope the owner would look into this.

- Vu (8/5): Nice place to stay - Bed rooms with the view and the living room The staff overcharged us when helping with the taxi arrangement
- Mayur (9/5): - I loved nearly everything — starting with our room, which had wooden floors and ceilings and offered a stunning view of the Paro valley. The office and dining area were beautifully decorated, where I enjoyed their delightful apple wine and K5 whiskey. The tastefully designed reading room, made of wood and glass and stocked with an excellent selection of coffee table books. Adding to it all was the attentive young manager who took care of every request, and the peaceful charm of the countryside completed the experience. I was heartbroken to learn that the property will soon be turned into a five-star hotel, as it means I’ll no longer be able to afford staying there.
- Martin (8/5): Schöne Unterkunft mit kleineren aber akzeptierbaren Mängeln - schön ausgestattetes Zimmer mit Wintergarten und toller Aussicht Sanitärgegenstände sollten gewartet werden
- Judith (1/5): Do not believe pictures! Not a good boutique hotel: completely catfished. - Nothing. We were completely catfished by this property. The photos look nothing like the location. The bedroom didn't have screens, and it was very hot inside, with only a stand-up fan to cool you down. There are mosquitoes in Bhutan so we would have been eaten alive. The grounds are overgrown and weedy. The fire pit had a family of nine living beside it, staring at you. The hot stone bath? It was somewhere hidden in the overgrown weeds: we didn't try to reach it. There is no shower stall: just a nozzle on the wall right beside the toilet and a bucket below. I had booked a bunch of rooms for our friends; we decided that everyone would be terribly unhappy, so I paid for the four days (no cancellation policy) for everyone, and we departed the property after staying only an hour. The staff tried their best. It was an uncomfortable situation and a big mistake.

- Nathalie F. (10/5): - It was an outstanding experience ! The interior reminded of a home. The business is lead by girls only. This led to a warm atmosphere.
- Chen Aim Chakhap (8/5): -
- Sajith (9/5): - Very near to airport and comfortable Food was not as good as we expected
- Sidhartha (10/5): A home away from home!! - Penjor tries to accomodate special requests and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. You have a great view of the Paro Valley and tucked away in the mountain nestled in a quiet serene corner. The main town is only a 15 minute walk down the hill and you have the best of both worlds where you can reach the town easily and yet have a certain quieitude. Not applicable

- Kezang Tashi Zangmo (6/5): - The view and the service

- Palash (9/5): Superb -
- Adea (9/5): would recommend, it was very comfortable. - very cozy, staff was responsible and always willing to help. food was great. nothing.
- Mehedee (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptionally helpful staff, the rooms are designed with Bhutanese motif in mind. Nothing actually, the staff was really cooperative and flexible.
- David (7/5): My stay was comfortable. - The staff were friendly and spoke English well. The food was home made and very good I was located in an Annex building which was pleasant but a bit inconvenient.
- Hitomi (10/5): Absolutely wonderful hotel like a home :) - I loved everything about Dzi Pema! Super beautiful house and room, a great view from the hill, quiet yet close to the town, home cooked delicious food, and most of all the wonderful staff who made sure that I was comfortable and everything was ok!! Thank you so much<3 That I had only one night and had to leave:(
- Robert (10/5): Beautiful stay in Bhutan - The property was very nice and the staff was very kind
- Abhishek (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing home like property. Delicious food and wonderful service by the caretaker.
I highly recommend this property
- Tony (8/5): Great stay and good view of the city on the hill side of Paro - great rooms but a bit away from the City Center of Paro. The food is good and the staff is great.
- Maggy (9/5): Very memorable experience! - Very clean and comfortable room in a beautiful and unique setting in the mountains. The hotel staff also went out of their way to look after us! Dogs are very common in Bhutanese neighbourhoods, so it's best to come prepared with ear plugs for the night.
- Karen (9/5): A super place! - This is a very nice place to stay. The staff are super and really do their very best to accommodate to guests schedules and needs. The food is also great introduction to Bhutanese cooking though they can accommodate to western diets. The location is nice situated at the top of a hill a short distance from paro town. There are many dogs living near but not on the property who do sometimes bark at night. Good to bring ear plugs if sensitive to this. But it doesn’t detract from the great property and professionalism of the staff.
- Ismet (10/5): Exceptional - Super calm and serene location with Paro views.
Nice and comfortable room.
Delicious breakfast and dinner.
Super friendly staff
Effective wifi
- Xu (8/5): Cozy, with nice staff and short walk down to Paro town - Nice Homestay like place No fan or ac
- Sartaj (9/5): Good comfortable stay, excellent value for money, excellent helpful staff - excellent staff, very helpful, cooperative and smiling. They looked after every requirement and were very friendly, positive quick in their response. very comfortable stay Internet in rooms is a little weak, an additional router will help. A TV in the reception cum bar cum restaurant is required.
- Shivani (9/5): Superb - Lovely place. Quiet and tucked away from town yet close enough. Home
- Supreet (8/5): Very good - Good hospitality & service. Quaint property. Nice overall experience
- Priya (9/5): Superb -
- Madhu (9/5): Superb -
- Sandra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aishwarya (10/5): Worth every penny - * Friendly staff - always available on demand
* Beautiful property
* Clean room and washroom
* Bonfire was awesome - the arrangements - soft cushion to sit on comfortably
We were offered homemade apple wine - we loved it 😍 Not much on the menu - but I believe they would have offered to try and prepare - but didn’t have much time
- Komal (9/5): It was a wonderful stay. We got to try their apple wine and most of the food was organic. - The breakfast was really nice and the people facilitating us where really nice.
- Dawa (8/5): Very good - good location
- Annika (10/5): Nice hotel with great views, beautiful rooms and wonderful host - Beautiful rooms and amazing host Location was a bit diatant from town
- Vinay (10/5): Exceptional - Very beautiful place, felt more like a staying at a Bhutanese home. The host was very gracious, hospitable and polite. Would definitely go there again for delicious traditional dishes, a beautiful view of the Paro valley, excellent home made apple wine and the kind hosts and staff.
- Ankur (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yeshey (7/5): My suggestion would be if you can quickly give property induction so that we don’t get confused where we need to go. - The host was very attentive and was respectful, responding very well of what I need. Will definitely recommend and looking forward to stay for little longer
food was as simple as it should be and tasty. It was not so spicy which I love it the linen of bed room need to be changed, the bath towel placement need to be kept somewhere neat area instead of keeping near the sink. Toilet mirror and sink need to be clean because I saw lot of water marks.
- Akanksha (10/5): lovely - The property was done well, very cosy. The host was extremely kind everything was good
- Nishith (5/5): Passable -
- Naveenkumar (2/5): Poor arrangements and unsafe property - Rooms were comfortable Property is very far away from Paro town. No proper arrangements for food. No service at the property. Dosent feel safe. It's too expensive and no value for money
- Dinesh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Udhim (7/5): Good -
