• Louis (8/5): Super friendly host with excellent location - The hosts are very friendly and helpful with the location being close enough to Centro (20mins walk) As reviews said and hosts made us aware after booking the walls are thin so it’s really a lucky dip with that type of other guests you’re staying with. Some are considerate, some are not so you have to be lucky

As others have said, the budget rooms are not very soundproof so would recommend bringing earplugs as some other guests are not very considerate of this

• Pierre (10/5): - Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans la Casa Bella Vista (5 nuits) notamment grâce à la gentillesse des gérants. Les lieux étaient propres, confortables, et l'ambiance familiale et chaleureuse. L'hostel est idéalement situé, et nous avons pu nous balader et nous rendre au centre ville à pied sans problème. Il y a également un supermaché à proximité. Bref, le rapport qualité-prix est imbattable. Je recommande ! Pasamos una estancia excelente en Casa Bella Vista (5 noches), sobre todo gracias a la amabilidad de los gerentes. Las instalaciones estaban limpias, eran cómodas y el ambiente era familiar y acogedor. El hostal está muy bien situado y pudimos pasear y llegar al centro de la ciudad a pie sin ningún problema. También hay un supermercado cerca. En resumen, la relación calidad-precio es inmejorable. Lo recomiendo !

The location is a little far from the city center but is still walkable, otherwise there are many taxis available. The TV in the room didn’t work, maybe the remote was broken.

• David (10/5): Exceptional - Nice family hostel with a kind and helpful host. The rooms are clean, the kitchen is sufficient and if you need advice, the owners are willing to help. The economy rooms have a bit thin walls so you can hear noises from other rooms. If you want to avoid this, book a superior.

Residential neighborhood with few restaurants and food options within walking distance. Walls and windows are paper-thin, so you could hear nearly everything and everyone in entire house. Website said breakfast was available for a fee—-it was not available at all.
• Royes (10/5): Bright, colourful, clean and great hosts. - Bright, colourful, great location. I could walk everywhere. Ricardo have the best advice for restaurants, where to get groceries, help with my SIM card and much more. Patricio took me out to their farm for half a day and was one of the best experiences of my trip so far. Not much to complain about, but if I must, the only thing is that wifi was sometimes spotty when on video calls.
• Matthias (9/5): Pleasant stay - I enjoyed the stay. Hot water. Good internet. Awesome view onto city. English-speaking host. And the host was very nice too! The room was a bit hot. But leaving the door opened in the evenings helped.
• Vanessa (9/5): Great place to stay - Wonderful host who was very kind and attentive. We were able to store our bags during the day after we checked out until we caught our overnight bus. The room was large and comfortable. There was hot water in the shower, ample blankets and even a small heater in our room (which we didn't need to use). Our experience was that the hostel was quite inside and a quiet area generally. For us it was fine, but it is a 10-15min walk from the centre, which may not be to everyone's liking. The area seemed very safe and we walked home in the dark (before 10pm) each night.

Fully equipped kitchen and areas to sit and see the cathedral. 2 bathrooms for everyone wasn't a lot, and it was loud from the wooden floorboards. • Aikaterini (10/5): A place to go back to! - The guesthouse was really beautiful and comfy. It was clean and tidy and it had hot water (something that is not to be taken for granted in Ecuador). The kitchen was super spacious and well equipped and the view from the balcony exceptional. The location was also really good, close to the city center and not far from the bus terminal. Also, the people that run the house were really friendly, polite and helpful. We actually changed a couple of hostels while in Cuenca cause they didn't meet our expectations (like hot water for example) and we found this one to be a perfect fit. Bella Vista is definitely a place to go back to if ever again in the city.

• Charles (9/5): 4 nights in Cuenca - Ricardo was very friendly and welcoming. Let us check in early after a night bus which is always a blessing. Good well equipped, open kitchen. Comfortable bed and good shower. And the warm welcomes from the little dogs and cat. Thin walls in the backpacker area but there wasn't too much noise and still amazing value for money. As they explain there are more premium rooms with solid walls available.

• Sjajm (9/5): Superb - We enjoyed our stay. The kitchen is well equipped and the staff are friendly. The walk to the centre is pleasant. They have the cuest cat! Our room opened out to the kitchen. We kept the window shut to keep smells out. However, this made the room very hot so a fan would have been great. The toilet rolls are of bad quality and they run out quickly so we had to ask for a new one every day.
