Guest Reviews
- Leah (2/5): Would not recommend - comfy bed Stayed in Unit A at Waverly Apartments in Beckenham WA. The bed itself was comfortable, but the pillows felt like cotton balls with no support at all. Carrying luggage upstairs was frustrating, especially as I do not recall stairs being mentioned on the booking listing.
The second bedroom has very little privacy, with no door, glass walls and only a single bed. The unit is also right on Albany Highway, so traffic noise was constant, and the blinds did very little to block out the highway lights, making it difficult to sleep.
A few basics were also missing. I could not find paper towels or tissues, and there was almost no space in the bathroom to place everyday toiletries.
Communication was probably the most disappointing part. At check-in I could not get in, so I tried calling and then emailed for help, but received no calls back or replies. I then received the checkout instructions after the checkout time had already passed, including being asked to remove our own rubbish despite paying a cleaning fee. This should have been communicated beforehand.
Overall, there were some positives, but too many comfort and communication issues for us to stay again.
- Rodel (10/5): -
- Chant (9/5): - Location and had room to relax while on down time
- Dhu (8/5): -
- Somadevan (9/5): - location and facilities Few comments
1. The single bed is not fitted properly. Making noise every time I roll in bed.
2. Only 3 sachets of sugar were available
3. . Not enough shower gel
- Catherine (1/5): Nightmare. Needs to be taken offline for bookings. - We received a full refund. The property was clearly impacted by long term water damage and was leaking excessively from the ceiling in several places due to heavy rainfall during our stay.
Thick dust, a lighter, discarded baby bottle and eye drops were visible under the master bed which was really gross. The shower had a lot of scum and mould. Blinds were in a complete state of disrepair.
We felt uncomfortable in the unit due to it feeling unclean. My toddler slipped in the puddles from the leaks.
- Jackson (10/5): Perths Little Secret - Best accommodations in Perth due to accessibility and location. Our apartment was very clean and comfortable, bed A+++. Well equipped with everything you need. Surprisingly spacious and storage is excellent.
Location of the Waverley ensure travel in any direction is a smooth process. Massive shopping centre, literally 500m up the road. Varsity burgers & Bowling next door. Everything is at your doorstep! The windows above the sliding door, main bedroom, it would be great to cover those. Sun comes straight in and reflects from the mirror. Very hard to sleep. Maybe just us lol, will not stop us from rebooking though. xx

- Marianthi (9/5): - That it was a close drive to everything. Centrally located and easy to find. All amenities were great. We did have an issue with the TV, but that was sorted quicker than quick which was good. The technician that we dealt with for the TV was lovely & very friendly & easy to get along with which made it a nice experience & not awkward. Only thing we didn't like was the fact that the curtains in the master bedroom didn't go all the way up to the roof, so it made it a bit hard to sleep, especially when the sun would be up at 5 o'clock in the morning. Otherwise everything else was good.
- Selina (2/5): Gross feeling from this stay. Bathroom drained stink. Actually should have asked for refund - I didnt apprecaite the Door Bell ring camera on front entry.
- KHALIL (9/5): -
- Vanessa (2/5): Very poor - Very Dissapointed! there's mould on the ceiling in the kitchen In 2 areas. And my sinuses and allergies have been really bad since I've come here, nasal/throat congestion and constant coughing.
My friends bed kept squeaking making really loud noises throughout the night even I could hear it next door. She couldn't get any sleep.
The hair dryer doesn't work at all. When I turned it on there was a very loud sound and burning I got scared and packed it away. Being with wet hair while going to sleep was very uncomfortable. And no water filter, (as the tap water taste like chemicals.)
The blinds are broken in my bed room so in the morning the light goes through the top and wakes me up
- Andrew (4/5): Needs an awful lot of maintenance. - Good parking, close proximity to Carousel shopping centre. Microwave doesn’t work
Bathroom sink blocked and slow draining
Vacuum cleaner doesn’t work
Tv backlight only dim one side can only watch tv in dark
Dirty smelly mop in sun room
Rangehood lights not working
External entry light constantly flashes making it difficult to see lock box or to get in at dark
Broken vertical blinds need slats replaced
Peeling lino needs attention
3 keys on keyring only 1 for the apartment. 2 unknown
No lamp in the clear glassed in section they call a second bedroom, it is really an open office space not a private bedroom no door even not even a separate light switch, same circuit as lounge
Lounge suite peeling leather looks and feels like picked up from a street side throw out
Tried to use clothes dryer for a small load of underwear and tshirts after 3 ½ hours in dryer still wet gave up and used clothes airer in sunroom
Bad Ant infestation throughout apartment, even on the beds
Lots of communication but mostly about what extra charges can be made after you arrive
- Jackie (7/5): Host was very helpful and really easy to message and responded quickly. - The beds were very comfortable, and the unit was very clean. Shower was nice, bathroom was clean, and towels were nice and big. Open living nice. The stove worked and all of the appliances were in good working order. Plenty of cutlery and plates if you had visitors for a meal. Very close to Westfield Carousel which worked well for us. Nice restaurant not far away or the cinema or shopping. As I opened the door all I could smell was spray and wipe - at least I knew it had just been cleaned. As I climbed the stairs it was very hot and stuffy in the unit. The amount of light that comes in through the vertical's curtains. - verticals missing in the main bedroom - which the light comes through hits the mirror and straight into your eyes in the morning. Need to put something to block the window above the door as the daylight reflects onto the TV in the afternoon. Kitchen flooring needs some work done on it as well as it is starting to lift up. Felt very isolated and cold.
- Philp (4/5): Disappointed in our stay - The apartment needed air conditioning in the 2 bedrooms. The one in the main area did not cool down the apartment and the fans did little in the bedrooms. The apartment need a fair bit of maintenance, things were broken, blinds didn't cover the windows and floors weren't clean.
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Adan (8/5): Very good -
- Hong (7/5): Good -
- Philip (7/5): Good - Great location
Apartment very well set out.
Everything you needed was available. Very noisy with main road and direct path of flights above.
- Kylee (8/5): Very good - Great affordable accommodation. The bed was Suuuuuuuuper comfortable. Well equipped with kitchen, laundry and bathroom. Quiet location close to major shopping centre. Could use a deep clean.
- Kulchain (7/5): Good - Location next to road Vehicle Noise
- Anne (5/5): Potential spoilt by poor maintenance - Spacious rooms and comfortable bed. Having a washing machine, dishwasher, and a good range of pots and pans. The little balcony at the back was good for drying clothes. Very poor level of maintenance. The blinds need repairing or replacing. The block out blind in the master bedroom works well but is negated by the vertical blind which lets in far too much light. Needs to be replaced with a better system so that one can sleep when needed.
We reported the battery in the fire alarm beeped frequently and that the basin in the bathroom was drying very slowly. We were told that someone would come to fix those issues. No body came! Most of the maintenance problems have already been mentioned by previous guests and not fixed, except for the recliner sofa which works. (No laundry basket)
- Elizabeth (2/5): Never again - Close to the city Old and dirty apartment , blinds broken and not fully covering windows so every time security lights came on the whole bedroom would light up. Barely slept a wink the whole 3 day stay!
One two seater dirty fabric couch for 4 people to use. Splats of who knows what up walls and ceiling. Floor filthy our socks were black with dirt after walking around on it. Lino flooring held down with sticky tape. Cutlery felt greasy. Hessian used to cover glass doors. Smells dirty.
Hated every minute and couldn't wait to leave!
- Amb (2/5): Not great. Needs renovating and water proofing - The bed was comfortable in the main bedroom. It's was close to Carousel and loads of shopping options. It's good it came with free parking. Your own designated bay assigned to the apartment. It's a large spacious apartment for 2 couples. Has nice hot water for the shower. Easy key access with lock box works well. Has a washing machine. Pillows need changing out. No shower pressure, the button in the shower doesn't work, so your stuck with all the spray settings on, probably making the pressure terrible. The smell as soon as you open the door, is damp and mouldy smell. Occasionally we could smell cigarette smoke in the bedrooms, we think their may have been someone smoking outside and it's venting inside some how. The lino flooring all needs ripping up and the concrete water sealing. The lino is coming up in alot of areas and water is seeping through cuts and gaps.
The unit has a fair amount of water damage. It's rained whilst we were there and water leaked through an existing water damaged spot in the ceiling in the kitchen and onto the floor. The sliding door to the terrace had water come in, I think through seal failure and not the door itself. Both leaks had a significant amount of water come in. The couch needs replacing. Don't have an electric relcining lounge if you can't plug it in to use. Not to mention thw water leaks straight towards it and to the power cords. The entire unit needs gutting, waterproofing again and repainting. Holes in walls from door handles in the bedrooms. Place smells of mould. The unit needs aircons in each room as heating takes a while with the very high ceilings. There are slates missing on the blinds in main bedroom. The cable is broken to the blinds in living room. Cant place anything on bathroom sink area as it's not flat in design. Everything rolls into the sink. Decore needs looking at, some super outdated pieces on the walls and old Christmas decorations left falling off the walls on the terrace. Has washing machine but noe where to hang cloths and no dryer. Should not be paying for a bond on this place either in it's current condition.
- Bobby (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Comfortable clean and convenient Flooring in places was split and hazardous
- Pajarillo (10/5): Exceptional - unit was suitable for family, can cook meal none
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mccrea (7/5): Good - Repairs to stair case are needed.
Joiner between carpet and tile was not glued down when we arrived so needed to avoid this hazard
- Kelly (5/5): Passable - not enough cooling. We arrived on a 43 degree day and the AC was not sufficient for the size of the area.
The coolers were no help at all
- Mat (10/5): Exceptional -
- Caroline (7/5): Overall it was an ok place, I would come again. - Location The other bedroom didn’t have privacy.
- Paulette (4/5): Disappointing - Location No mentioning the amount of stairs you need to carry your bags up
Top step tracking coming away from stairs
No light globe in one of the bedside lamps
Scissors broken in draw
No batteries in remote control so couldn't watch TV
Dirty marks around light switch in bathroom
Ironing board cover needs replacing
Blinds in room broken
Air Conditioning not sufficient for the size and design of the room.
- Edite (8/5): Very good -
- Taufiq (10/5): This exceeds our expectation and would highly recommend this to anyone. Will book again. 10/10 - 1. Location is quite near to the nearest grocery shop called Cannington Fresh Market.
2. Able to cook in the apartment and save money as eating out here can be expensive.
3. Host is responsive to message on Booking.com apps as we encountered leaking pipe on the kitchen sink during our first day.
4. Host is accountable and wanted to send someone to fix the pipe issue, but we have alternatives for that as there is also another sink on the laundry area.
5. The apartment really feels like our home when we stay here. Nothing as the apartment is what we expected during our stay. Though probably require to replace some of the worn out furniture and actively do building maintenance for future tenants.
Also this apartment stay is more suited for 3 people rather than 5 people.
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clive (5/5): For what you get its overpriced, but we couldn't find anywhere else to stay for our dates. - The bathroom had a nice shower.
The wifi was good.
Nice 6 seater dining table. Having to climb 17 steps up one flight of steps.
Not having Foxtel.
There was only one 2 seater electric reclining sofa to sit on and it wasn't connected.
Cheap thin vinyl flooring.
Only 1 wall plug in the lounge and used by the TV.
- Leah (6/5): Needing work, but has potential - The towels were lovely and clean and soft. The apartment blocked out all the outside noise. It was in a great location, minutes from Carousel Shopping Centre. Modern. We arrived late in the evening around 10pm after a 6 hr drive to find that 2 of our 3 children had nowhere to sleep, no sheets and the promise of 2 sofa beds, yet only one was a sofa bed and a mattress folded up in one corner. I rang the number and got forwarded on to the property manager who didn’t offer an apology, but did offer the key code to the linen room. We didn’t exactly find what we needed, but made do. There were also no towels for the kids. Back to the linen room we went. Then we found the king size bed had queen size sheets and duvet on. The fitted sheet popped off straight away when I got on the bed and the fully stained mattress protector showed. So back to the linen room we went. Unfortunately there were no king size sheets, so we had to use another queen size sheet on each side of the bed. There was no follow up to see if we had got our situation sorted, which was pretty disappointing. The aircon needed servicing/filters cleaned as it had a musty smell. Also some of the chairs probably need replacing as the surface kept flaking off the chairs. There was also no dish cloth to wipe the bench/table. I am hoping for the next people that stay there these things get rectified, if they do it would get a really great place to stay.
