Guest Reviews
- Jo (1/5): - The cottage was SUB-STANDARD! Broken louvre in laundry (HUGE security risk as this would make it easy for someone to break in while you're sleeping!). Smelly old toilet tucked away behind laundry. Broken wooden blinds. This cottage does not seem to be maintained at all, and the advertising display photos show are evidently from years ago. Only one air-conditioner which is one of the bedrooms. The rest of the cottage was very hot, so very unpleasant. We contacted manager who was very helpful and subsequently the owner offered the front house (103a) which was much better and very nice but at EXTRA COST!! For the same price we could have stayed at a penthouse in lovely apartments nearby. So, in all, we were very very disappointed.
- Leigh (6/5): - Clean and tidy when arriving No wifi ,no vacuum cleaner to clean carpet ,no fan or air con in lounge room , lounge to Small, no board games or other activities for kids to do , limited storage space
- Paulette (9/5): Loved our stay beautiful cottage just need another aircon for hot days - Location Definitely needs another aircon
- Jiana (5/5): A good place, but if you’re going there for work, I wouldn’t suggest it as there is no Wi-Fi in the reception isn’t good - The shower was amazing and the beds were extremely comfortable There was no wifi and the reception in the area was awful. The show leaked and water was all over the bathroom floor. There was only one air conditioning. The wifi connected to the tv would stay on so we couldn’t watch anything and it would let us hotspot to it either.
- Kate (5/5): In short we felt we had been mis sold this property - The beds were comfortable 1) Arrived during a Brisbane heat wave. The property was uncomfortably hot. Air conditioning unit in only one bedroom. Facilities available advertise air conditioning - that implies whole unit. The air cooler in the second bedroom was not fit for purpose in the humidity of Brisbane and did not offer any cooling at all.
2) The property was behind a two storey building and offered no views at all despite a sea view being advertised on information about the property - photos to follow
In fact there are no views at all other than building works next door and walls of adjacent properties.
3) A garden was also advertised - again see photos.

- JOAO (3/5): NOT RECCOMENDABLE AT ALL.!! - Conveniently located... 1- it wasn't clean on arrival - filthy floor.!
2- most cutlery (knives) had lose handles...
3- no salad bowl...!
4- no garbage bags...
5- poorly ventilated - one cooling portable unit inoperative.!
6- no view as advertised; the address was misrepresented and thus we ended up at the rear of the house...
7- no mention whatsoever of the noisy, dusty construction site right next door to the unit..!! (This was deliberatly deceitful).
- Tim (10/5): It was good - Good Nothing
- Nicole (9/5): Would go back - Absolutly loved the location, moved to the upstairs cottage with help and a smile. Shower was amazing and view outstanding. kitchen could have been a little cleaner but facilities were great.
- Kayla (10/5): -
- Kim (8/5): It was a peaceful place - The location was close to the water that lapped up on the bay, creating a peaceful atmosphere when the neighbouring workers finished for the day.
The cottage was clean. It was very cold. There was one air conditioner in one bedroom and no heaters. The hot water didn't last long. The dishwasher didn't work.
It was next to a noisy construction site.
- Adam (9/5): - Great location. Great facilities and clean. Had everything we needed. Not much. It was fantaatic
- James fogg (10/5): - Good Good
- Karen (5/5): Passable -
- Ricky (6/5): Pleasant - The location was good , the house was old but suited our needs.Everything inside the house was clean and well presented . No onsite parking, rubbish in garage from of other unit, rubbish bins overflowing on footpath. The supplied clothes dryer didn’t dry our clothes very well and we had to go to a laundromat to dry them.
- Slade (8/5): It was fine, clean and comfortable -
- Vanessa (3/5): Poor - The beds were comfy. And it was a cute little cottage. The fridge was a good size for us, and the washing machine was very handy but very small. Had all the utensils we needed in the kitchen for our stay. Great having body wash. The air fryer was dirty. I washed it anyway. Didnt use it.There is only one aircon in one bedroom. the house is so very hot. The stand-alone aircon in the other bedroom was useless. The dryer doesn't work, so it may as well not be there. The lounge was so hot you couldn't sit in it during the day. No fan or aircon. Would be nice to have a container of pegs to hang your washing with, but we managed anyway. I left a container of pepper in the cupboard because there was none. I would not stay in this cottage again because of the lack of aircon. The TV aerial plug in the wall needs some attention. It wasn't plugged in when we arrived, but I managed to get the aerial plug to stay in the wall to get the TV to work.
- Gauld (8/5): Very good -
- Hania (7/5): It provided our workers needs, would consider value for money. Good location. - Location Very Good! cottage is pretty hot and takes a while to cool down once aircon on.
- Timothy (5/5): Passable - Good location Leaking washing machine
Lack insect netting screens for windows
- Horwood (8/5): Very comfortable and great location - No breakfast offered There was no milk provided. And the coffee was International Roast sachets.
- Corrie (3/5): Poor - Cottage 3 was at the very back of the property so no breeze. There is only one air con located in 2nd bedroom which does not cool any other part of the house. Fans did nothing. Off street Parking was non existent.
- Brooke (5/5): Cute little property, just needs to be looked after properly. - The location is great & suitable for a short stay. Aircon only in one room, did have fans in other rooms, but whole house would get too hot. To cool the rest of the house down had to open windows which had no fly screens, therefore bugs entered the house. Washing machine was leaking, which was stated by another reviewer was leaking back in June, making this an issue for at least 6 months. Overall maintenance of inside & outside comes across as lazy. Outside furniture not that great & yard very unkept.
- Anne (1/5): Scarborough Beach cottage
Scarborough Beach cottage - Can't think of anything No attempt to make life comfortable. Uncomfortable furniture, TV not working, no outlook to outdoor. No wardrobes, no hooks or towel rails in bathroom. No board games, no books or Xmas decorations. Needs air-conditioned in living areas and ceiling fans in all rooms. No space to move in bathroom between showers and vanity.. no WiFi. No fly screens or security screens on windows
- Emma (8/5): Very good - only one aircon in one bedroom
- Gavin (5/5): Passable - Location was excellent Lack of efficient air conditioning and poor mobile reception. No suitable outside seating area.
- Christina (5/5): It was okay - The bathroom is as nice, had everything g we needed there No wifi, no air conditioning. It’s a very hot cottage .
- O'brien (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (7/5): Building good approaches andparking poor - Good size , layout , everything to hand Road access and off street parking Road was narrow with no barrier and drop off vertical of 2 metres plus Parking for 3 cars off road was just possible but bad entry at might because of narrow road
- Leroy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Judi (8/5): Very good -
- Robert (5/5): Passable -
- Julie (5/5): Waterfront cottage no water views from back cottage - Liked the location of the property. Liked that we had 2 bedrooms. Seemed like value for money when you think waterfront cottage as you think water views It was in fact a property with water views. However the property that we were in was behind the main property with no views. There was no internet which really is a standard these days. Although the telly had capacity for Netflix unfortunately with no wifi we couldn’t watch anything other than local channels. Personal hotspot from phone was troublesome as couldn’t pick up enough bars. These are pretty easy issues ie the wifi and telly to fix as most people have their own sign in to streaming channels. The ad is misleading about water views unless you go and sit in the driveway. The garden that comes with the cottage is very tight and needing a bit of maintenance.
- Belinda (9/5): A beautiful, neat cottage with everything needed for a little getaway! - A beautiful, neat property with everything needed for a small family getaway. We loved being near the beach and in the hub of Scarborough. The property was absolutely gorgeous. We learned about using on-street parking after arriving, and while this was no issue, encourage it to be added to the welcome email.
- Peta (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, beautiful area. Cute house Nothing i didn't like
- Kristy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (9/5): Superb - Lovely cottage in a great location. Very quiet, clean and cute. Wi-Fi is always helpful. After a big day out watching a movie to chill is nice 🙂
- Tanyalak (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kylie (10/5): Exceptional - The view from the front of the property was amazing. The cottage was very clean, with everything that you would need. The host was very lovely and helpful. We would definitely stay here again. Added a photo of the blue moon rising from out front of the property.
- Maree (10/5): B'DAY weekend - Beach front and so tranquil There was nothing to dislike
- Thomas (9/5): Wonderful stay - Cleanliness, location and easy to deal with.
- Aleisha (8/5): Very good - Very clean and comfortable.
- Vicki (9/5): Great stay - Clean and comfortable
Great location Small heater for winter
Step into bathroom a bit dangerous - small ramp might solve problem
- Wendy (7/5): Good -
- Linda (8/5): It was a pity that the constant rain spoilt the stay. - There waa no breakfast The small bathroom
- Alisha (5/5): Passable - The space was bigger than some apartments, smaller than others. The kitchen and bathroom have both recently been renovated and look lovely although the bathroom is very small. It was handy having a laundry with the family there, and soaps/washing powder et were all well stocked. Although we did self check in and check out and didn't see any staff, the host seemed to be nice via message. There was no wifi, which we accepted when we booked, but on the free to air TV there were only 4 channels, 2 of which were cartoons for young kids - maybe invest in an antennae/Netflix/DVD player?
It should be made clear also that this house isn't really waterfront, there is another 2- story house directly in front and very close, all you can see from any window is other very close buildings. This made the entire house so hot, which is a pity as there was a beautiful sea breeze, we just couldn't enjoy it. There was also a whole in the lounge wall that appeared to have termite damage (?) and the house might need treatment for cockroaches?
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Masinatasi (8/5): Overall, our stay was impacted by the heatwave. While some amenities offered relief, the lack of comprehensive cooling a - The property was well equipped home way from home . prefect for a family of 4 . Pros:
- AC in one room provided relief.
- Fans helped circulate air.
- Beach across the road
- Beautiful renovated
Cons:
- Limited cooling options.
- No flyscreens on windows
- John (7/5): Good - Location Key box
- Kenton (8/5): Very good -
- Fernandes (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chassidy (10/5): Exceptional - Location, price, and accommodation! Not a deal breaker as didn't need on holiday but phone reception was difficult and no wifi.
- Sherrie (9/5): Superb - Loved the shower and bed really comfy Very dangerous having to drive one way street on a very narrow road on a cliff trying to get past cars that are parked, advise park around corner and walk to accommodation
- Cate (7/5): Lovely well-appointed apartment in a fantastic location... across the road from the beach. - Lovely well-appointed apartment in a fantastic location... quite and peaceful. Very clean and comfy. Leaky shower, soaking wet floor.. Had trouble with air-cond. control, fading in & out, hard to regulate.
- Averil (5/5): Two star at best needs more honest description. Redeeming feature was beach over the road. - The fact that there were no other guests in other units so we could park on site. Just lucky in that respect. Unit was at rear of property as advertised. But that is all. Had the only 2 parks been taken by the other units it would have been difficult to get any street parking during daylight hours due to beach guests taking up all limited spaces. The street access was dangerous when other vehicles parked on the street so difficult to go past them as steep drop off on edge of street. Only 1 aircon in the building. Windows not secure and banging in the wind. Roof sheets banging all night in the wind. Only one small mirror in the bathroom. Dirty wine bottle on outside table. Carpet in bedrooms felt dirty.
- Sharon (8/5): Close to beach. Perfect for couples or small groups - Clean and so quiet at night Nothing it was great. Street parking was a bit tight at times
- Susan (9/5): Great stay - Locations was perfect . All you need in a stay Not much of an out side area
- Angela (8/5): Great house. Great location. Great communication. - The house was perfect for a family of 4. Great location. Shower didn’t drain properly for our stay and the washing machine also leaked water after using it. Biggest upset would be the parking, having to park your 90k car in the beach access car park is a bit far fetched. Walking your stuff up and down 20 sets of stairs each day. This would be the only reason I would stay again.
- Fernandes (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect size for our family of 4! Great amenities and very clean.
- Leanne (9/5): Perfect holiday thankyou🏖 - Lovely to walk out the front straight onto beach! Great swimming beach with beautiful doggos everywhere. My grandaughter loved it!Coffee and airfryer came iin very handy. 5 minute walk to minimart that had everything and we also used bbq right on beachfront! Much quieter than Redcliffe which we loved. Will stay again next time we in town! Parking not a problem! We parked on same street up the top but a couple of minutes walk. So car was parked right out front of a house! House is much bigger than in pics and so us the t.v!
Thankyou🙏 we loved it✨️🌴🌺🏖💗💐 We liked everything!
- Debbie (8/5): We had a great 3 day stay here , highly recommended! - Location was great , the cottage was very cute and comfortable There was only one small round mirror in the bathroom , perhaps another mirror on the back of a bedroom door would be useful 😊
- Morgan (9/5): Nothing bad all good clean tidy. Everything we needed. Enjoyed the stay. Loved my favourite colour - Clean comfortable what we needed
Everything we needed All good
- Gary (8/5): Very good - Great location. Love the beach shack style of accom. Easy to get about We were unable to put the bins out due to a car parked directly in front of them. Toilet roll holder fell off the wall first time it was used. But these are only minor things
- Meyer (10/5): Great communication from owner and clean facilities - Location to the beach Nothing
- Helen (5/5): Good location. - Close to services and Newport. The air conditioner does not work and the house was exceptionally cold making our stay unpleasant. When we used the washing machine we later found water on the floor suggesting it is leaking. We also noticed there are termites or residue of termites in the lounge room wall so not sure if the landlord is aware of this. If these issues are resolved our stay would have been more pleasant.
- Barry (10/5): It served our purpose - The place was was very clean and tidy. Disappointed that there was no view of the ocean/bay the house is at the back with no views
