• Guest (10/5): - The house has a very beautiful design, which positively influences your mood. Unlike many places in Azerbaijan, this property is located on a separate, private plot of land surrounded by similar holiday homes. Still, the house offers a good sense of privacy thanks to the well-planned separation from neighboring houses. There is also a pleasant barbecue shelter on the property where you can enjoy outdoor cooking. The man who welcomed and assisted us was very kind and helpful. The house is fully equipped and very comfortable. The main issue was the owner’s approach to reservations made through Booking.com. After I booked the house, the owner immediately cancelled the reservation on the platform. I was the one who reached out to him on WhatsApp to confirm that we were indeed coming, and I had to maintain constant contact to reassure him. This became tiring over time. I do understand his point of view — he explained that many guests from booking.com had made bookings and then didn’t show up. However, if the Booking option is offered, it should be honored. Switching to a non-refundable policy might be a better solution, as it secures the booking for both sides. Regarding the house itself, one minor issue was the semi-transparent door in the bathroom. I would suggest applying a privacy film or some kind of filter to ensure full discretion. Also, there was a refrigerator in the bedroom — it didn’t bother us personally, but it might be uncomfortable for some guests. Overall, the host was friendly and responsive, but the process before arrival felt unnecessarily stressful and iritating.
• Leonardo (2/5): Reservation cancelled - The owner cancelled our reservation without any notice. At first they asked us a deposit to confirm the reservation we made through Booking.com. We had some issues before with scams, so we didn't want to give the deposit (which was not foreseen through Booking, anyway), but to meet the needs of the owner and to be on the safe side, we changed the reservation from "free cancellation" option to "non-refundable" option. The same morning we were going there, they told us they gave the house to someone else because they don't trust Booking.com and they use it only as an advertisment. They did not take our money but caused us a lot of trouble as we ended up in another very unsatisfying place. I am sorry, but this is not really a correct and reliable behaviour!
