Guest Reviews
- Carey (10/5): Beautiful accommodation with thoughtful touches in a tranquil bush setting. Perfect fof families - The location was fantastic with easy access to town and the tranquility of the countryside undisturbed by noise and light pollution, made for a truly relaxing getaway. We often commented how peaceful and quiet the location was during our stay. The host Cathryn has thought of everything, the house was the best equipped I have stayed in and thoughtful touches like waffle mix and a well stocked were very appreciated. The bubble tents on site looked like fun and the local neighbours were warm and welcoming. We have stayed in many wonderful places in the area but this is certainly our new favourite. A truly memorable stay, we will definitely visit again!
- Donna (9/5): Cosy and comfy cottage stay. - The cottage was well appointed, cosy, stylish and comfortable. Everything we could need was supplied. Cathryn was a great host and very helpful.
- Craig (9/5): Peaceful. - Quiet, remote, views, comfort, peaceful, great host.
- Leanne (1/5): A lovely house; dreadful experience - Oil heaters for each bedroom and the lounge; lovely linen and spacious rooms; plenty of parking. Firstly, the property's age restriction policy contravenes Section 29 of the Age Discrimination Act 2004 (Cth), which states that it is illegal to discriminate against a person based on their age in relation to accommodation, including imposing discriminatory terms or conditions. My mother (85 years) noted that the property's age restriction policy states: "Check-in is only possible for guests between 18 and 80 years old".
Secondly, the owner contacted us to advise that she was watching us via the surveillance camera and accused us of 'stealing' personal firewood from under the house, stating: "I know what you are doing; I can see you." Regardless of the fact that there was only half the required amount of firewood, kindling and fire starters for one cold night, we purchased firewood for our 3 night stay. At no time did we take wood from under the house. The outside fire pit had been set up for our use, which is where we sourced more kindling. Cameras are legal for the purposes of keeping the property safe, not for spying on tenants. Our party are all very experienced international & domestic travellers and have never encountered this type of invasive and rude treatment before. It made us question whether there were internal cameras and recording devices installed.
Thirdly, the property has a number of serious health and safety concerns. Our expectation of 'breakfast included' is completely different to that of the host and the advertisement for this property. The jams, spreads, milk (UHT), waffle mix, flour, butter, and breakfast cereals were opened, with many condiments & supplies expired by several years (photos attached). The cupboards and fridge need to be cleaned out of all opened items and those past the use by date.
The very large microwave was stored under the island bench and needed to be lifted and carried to a kitchen bench to plug in to a power point, which was completely unrealistic and unsafe.
- Argo (9/5): Outstanding experience. Will return. - The comfortable, beautiful house. The hot shower. The quiet location, lots of birds and trees, and clean air. The 6 minute drive to Tenterfield for shopping and cafes and Stonefruit Restaurant for dinner. Quick access to National Parks. Our host, Cathryn, was attentive and generous. Don't have any dislikes.
- Squires (10/5): A beautifully styled country farmhouse with stunning views, excellent amenities, and fantastic hosts - Our stay at this beautiful country farmhouse was absolutely wonderful! The home is styled to perfection, with every little detail thoughtfully considered to ensure a comfortable and relaxing experience for my husband, our two kids, and myself. The kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked with everything we needed, and the added perks—streaming subscriptions, games, and a delightful bottle of sparkling wine as a welcome gift—made it even more special. The bedrooms were beautifully decorated, and the breathtaking views combined with the peaceful location made this stay truly unforgettable. We will be back! We wish we were able to utilise the outdoor fire pit but understand it wasn't possible at the time of year we visited.
- Tharindu (9/5): Superb -
- Christine (10/5): We had a wonderful stay- very comfortable and exceptionally hosted! - Lovely setting- beautifully set up with lots of little special touches provided for Christmas NA
- Natalie (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful property- Instant relaxing feeling when you enter this wonderfully restored Queenslander as the interior is of quality, very homey and has beautiful personal touches for the guests (card, wine..). Got an early free check-in as well. Wish we stayed longer!
- Tracey (10/5): Pretty in pink, inside and out. - Sunday at Miru Miru was a delightful and comfortable home away from home. Thankyou for being dog friendly
- Karyn (9/5): Beautifully restored Queenslander home in perfect location - The house has been so lovingly and painstakingly restored and it was beautifully appointed with a lot of thought put into making the whole house feel homely and stately all in one. There are a lot of extra special touches including complimentary wine, port, chocolates and many condiments and other food items that we wouldn't normally bother to bring from home or buy at the shops once on holiday. There are indoor and outdoor games available as well as wifi, tv and Netflix if wanted. It wasn't fire season, but there was an included fireplace which would be lovely on a cold night. Cathryn was a wonderful host - attentive, great communication and her love for this property was quite evident.
The location was perfect for us - just out of town with lovely views towards Mt Mackenzie plus plenty of bird life around the property and even a kangaroo jumping down the side fence. It was close to all town facilities and a short drive to the many National Parks we visited. Only a couple of minor things to note. The lock boxes were a little tricky to get into, but once we worked them out all was good and it is a great way to enter the property without the need to disrupt the host. The pillows were all quite high and a bit uncomfortable in a softer bed. Perhaps providing a variety of pillow sizes would be better than all high pillows.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Don (8/5): Very good -
- Douglas (9/5): Superb - Sunday at Mirumiru was a comfortable, spacey home with an interesting back story. The views were spectacular and we used the fire pit to enjoy a wine and sunset looking at the mountains in the distance. Our dog Pirate was welcomed with bedding and dog dishes available too. The kitchen was so fabulous i wish i could"ve taken it home with me. Sunday at Mirumiru was located a perfect distance from town and perfect spot to get away from it all.
- Amelia (10/5): Exceptional - This beautiful pink Queenslander home was more beautiful than I could have imagined. As soon as we arrived we got the fire going and immediately felt warm and cozy. We can’t wait to visit again!
- Forde (10/5): Perfect winter retreat for our family + 2 dogs. Couldn’t be happier - Beautiful cosy bedrooms, and a gorgeous fireplace in the loungroom. We very much appreciated the ample firewood that was provided, plus all the other basic necessities! perfect place for a winter weekend trip
