- Dorothy (10/5): -
- June (8/5): Lovely peaceful location - Breakfast not included although coffee/tea available Thank you
- catherine (9/5): House out of this world - Very warm welcome by Roman.
Exceptional view. Very quiet and inspiring
The house is very comfortable well decorated The acces is 2km long. Rough road
- Tay (10/5): - Great host, amazing location

- Sarah (10/5): - We had a great stay at the funky forest, the land is so beautiful and the cabin has everything you need for a cosy weekend. Be sure to look through the binoculars, watching humpbacks with your morning coffee sure is a treat, the sauna is also a great addition ☺️
- Christian (10/5): Weekend family break - Great place! Amazing views and cabin --- you're in the bush, but it's very comfortable and away from it all. Great host. Really, not much. Apart from google not knowing where the address is, and me not having the read the instructions email in full to find the bit about how to find the place. The cabin is quite a long drive up an unpaved track from the main road, but rest assured, it's there! (And being off the main road is the point)
- Annette (10/5): Geweldige omgeving en host. Voor herhaling vatbaar. - Locatie is geweldig.
- Darryl (8/5): Cabin high in the hills - Rustic cabin situated high in the hills with amazing views over the Salish Sea. The cabin was roomy and had everything you would need for a stay. Not a negative but you do need to read the property info regarding the long drive up to the cabin. The track is stony in parts and not suitable for all car types.
- Tansey (9/5): Short stay in a lovely cabin up high in the woods with amazing views. - This lovely rustic cabin had everything you needed. A little kitchenette with a full fridge, with extra personal touches. (Binos, head lamps, drinks, etc) Two bedrooms and small couch. Best was the deck with the view from up above of the Juan de Fuca straight. Had a sauna which we didn’t use, and fire pit. The live edge countertops were beautiful. I can’t imagine how difficult it would’ve been to build up there. I appreciate the work that went into this place. At first with the narrow logging Road up to the place , we were a bit nervous where it was leading us. Ha ha, but then it revealed this beautiful cabin.

- Takao (10/5): Perfect! We would love to come back. - Beautiful, spotless, and super comfortable. The sauna was wonderful and the whole experience was just the getaway we needed. Roman is an incredible host, and very gracious when we showed up early after escaping our rainy campsite down the road. Snacks and treats were also a huge hit! Everything was great, but we may have run into a little trouble if we’d been in a small car and the road in had been snowy or muddy. It might be worth mentioning in the property description that the road in is unpaved, so that folks can make sure they have the right vehicle when road conditions are rougher.

- Andrea (8/5): - The view, the vibe, the sustainable ethic, fresh eggs, real coffee, no unnecessary packaging, comfortable beds, peaceful, out of the way location. A disconcerting noise when running a small bath to share. (We couldn't work out the shower, despite reading the excellent instruction booklet.)
- Kasey (10/5): Amazing unique stay! - Amazing unique place! Definitely recommend!
- Piotr (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Go here, and experience Vancouver Island - Great view, the owner exceptionally accommodating, super comfortable beds, perfect location. We were very impressed with the whole experience.
- Juno (10/5): Exceptional -
- Devon (10/5): Too cool. - The idea. The message. The amenities. What is there possibly not to like?
- Ayantha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Erin (10/5): Beautiful rustic location - excellent host :) The funky forest is such a unique place to stay! - Perfect location to explore Juan de Fuca. The views of forest and sea were amazing! The cabin is cozy and has everything you need. A unique Vancouver Island place to stay :)
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - Location! Not too far of a drive out of town but really felt like we were out in the middle of nowhere. Cabin had everything we needed and Roman was very accommodating. Also beautiful views. Will have to come back in the summertime.
- Amanda (9/5): Fantastic night in the woods. - Loved the solitude. The view was incredible.
- Sean (10/5): Great location, close to surf, quiet, and a friendly and helpful owner. - It's a beautiful spot a few kilometers climb up a mountain very close to Jordan River. I got there at night in a pouring rain, and my Toyota Corolla rental was hydroplaning on the highway, but the road to this cabin drains really well and I had no trouble. I arrived without food and was dreading the long drive in the rain at night to Sooke, and as I was getting in my car, the owner Roman approached me and offered to make me a meal. Saved! Really nice guy.
- Aquilla (10/5): This is the best overnight stay on Vancouver Island! - I had a wonderful time in the Funky Forest! The view from the cabin was excellent, the cabin has great facilities, and it's super cosy in the winter time! There was plenty of snacks and tea available, and the wifi was stable enough for me to conduct a meeting on a video call. Not enough bears! Maybe next year!
- Braydon (10/5): Exceptional - Exceptional view, friendly hosts and well furnished space with all the comforts.. Nothing not to like.
