Guest Reviews
- Adamantios (2/5): Not Good Enough - Right in front of the pyramids, less than 5' from sphinx entrance, friendly staff Stained and/or unclean/not properly washed towels & bedsit, difficult to find (no sign, even on the entrance), unclear if this was a hotel, rooms to let or airbnb, noisy, bad and very smelly neighbourhood, not sure how safe it was, no elevator. The people were clearly making an effort but it was unfortunately just not good enough. Expensive taxi to/from the airport (we got uber in the end)
- Hassan (10/5): Not the first time to stay and wouldn’t be the last ✨ - Nice place and the staff is very friendly

- Daniela Mariana (10/5): I would go back to this hotel every time! - I loved the stay in this hotel. All the personel was super friendly even before my stay. I thought it was "automated messages", as these days it's all chatbots, and when I arrived I realized that it was actually the people that worked there that they really care that you have a good stay.
The hotel is beautiful, and it has all you need. Great breakfast, with amazing Pyramid views.
I would stay here again if I go next time!!
I would like to give a special thanks to Omar. He is super friendly, nice, and really cares that we had a nice time and he helped us a lot to make sure that we were safe and good and happy in our stay in egypt. The world needs more people like him <3 The neighbour is a super local place and it's on a tourist area, so you have kids following you sometimes trying to sell you things, but at some point they give up . The area is not that nice, but the hotel is great!
- Florent (5/5): Passable -
- Farizan (10/5): Love everything about it and decent price - Love this clean decent simple place , cannot get any closer to the Pyramids . The surrounding place is good and safe away from any touts . The beds are comfy, breakfast is good , really a value for money hotel The 4 storey stairs ! So not for any wheelchair / crutches or heavy bags
- Iosebi (4/5): Disappointing -
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Russell (9/5): Excellent value for money property with good location and friendly staff - Excellent value for money. Excellent location a few minutes from entrance to pyramids. Lovely view from the rooftop terrace at breakfast and watching sun going down over pyramids. Staff friendly and very helpful doing everything to make our stay enjoyable.
- Kareem (10/5): Exceptional -

also the room is clean and have rube and slippers
- Joseph (2/5): Anytime you order any service, you get the price afterwords and requires you pay in cash either Euro or USD - Not much This is a bait and switch scam. You book New Scarab and they put you at a location called The Heaven Pyramid, a location Apple Maps says is permanently closed. This not the room or view advertised.
- Hassan (10/5): From the moment I checked in, I was blown away by the hospitality at this hotel. The staff was incredibly welcoming, mak -
- Kyostebekov (5/5): Passable - The view from the restaurant terrace is great. They gave us a room that was different from the one we booked. Ours was taken and they would change it the next day... and they never called. The "hotel" has no sign or marking anywhere, it's not on Google Maps and it's very difficult to find. As a building and furnishings it's fine.
The area around it is shocking - ruined buildings, stones, dirt and it's not safe to walk around at night.
The breakfast is shocking - the hygiene when serving is zero, i.e. there is no breakfast, except water. I'm taking a few pictures of what they serve us for 3 people and how it's prepared from some boxes. We asked about excursions and the prices were 3 times higher than the real ones.
- Burak (10/5): Exceptional -
- Meriçhan (10/5): Thank you very much everythings is fine -
- Özalp (10/5): Exceptional - The location of the hotel is very good, we can see the pyramids from the terrace. The breakfast was very good. It was also amazing to see the pyramids from our room. They took very good care of us. Everything is perfect.

- Enest (10/5): Exceptional - Truly impressed by the view of the pyramids at night! And the staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive
I would come again
- Sveinn (9/5): Budget friendly with great views of the pyramids!:) - This property probably has one of the best views of the pyramids which is basically the number one thing we wanted for our trip with our kids aged 4 and 8. We stayed at the top floor, where breakfast was served and we could see the pyramids out our window. Having breakfast with the pyramid view and going out during the evening to catch up on emails with that amazing view was mindblowing. The staff was so so friendly. Everything from arranging a free pickup at the airport, scheduling private tours for us, going out to ATM with us or just making sure we were having a good time. We did the Pyramid, Saqqara and Memphis tour with Sara a tour guide we totally recommend that they planned for us. We also did the Cairo tour. Both are highly recommended. I would stay here again. What I am writing here is mostly for the hotel to look at to make the experience even better. Do not take this is something super negative, it's just a few things that might have been better and also information for people that might be looking into booking this hotel. First of all it's not a luxury accommodation. It's a budget friendly place but we loved seeing other families like us staying there. The area is Gyza district which is poorer and for someone that might not be used to traveling developing countries it might look "scary" or "unsafe". It is totally not, it's just real Egypt and we loved it. I walked out alone at night to pick up food or other things we needed to do. The wifi was not great but worked, just good for someone to know that might have to do video calls, I would not say the wifi is good enough for working like that. The beds were not luxury beds but worked fine. The blinds in the room were good but there was a balcony where there were no blinds so it got really bright in the morning.
- Fiona (9/5): Convenient to Pyramid entry and New Museum and Budget friendly was great for our short stay with the best view of pyra - The position of hotel to view all 3 pyramids and even the Sphinx was mind blowing. This is a budget friendly hotel with everything you need and clean but the deck is spectacular and loved being welcomed by the family members of the hotel who took the time to get to know us food was great but suggest booking hotel taxi direct with them as a little difficult to find the hotel in a rabbit warren of backstreets but it meant we had prime position to pyramids Shampoo provided but no conditioner TV was not working on our 2 night stay but the view out my bedroom window made up for it
- Caitlin (9/5): Amazing view of the three pyramids and nice modern rooms. - Amazing view of the three pyramids from the hotel rooftop terrace and from our room, and in walking distance to them. Nice modern renovated rooms and bathrooms. The staff were very lovely, caring and welcoming. The breakfast included was decent and you can order lunch and dinner through them too. Food takes about 45 mins after ordering so just keep that in mind. My only real complaint is that it’s very noisy at night when trying to sleep. However this isn’t the properties fault and we were also there during Ramadan when there was probably more noise and celebrations at night. The TV’s in both our rooms didn’t work but for me that’s not a problem as I don’t watch TV. My parents do though. I couldn’t wash my hair as there wasn’t a hair dryer.
- Giedre (10/5): Thanks for a wonderful stay! - The location is fantastic! Just a short walk from the Gates of the Pyramids and the town, where you’ll find plenty of restaurants and cafés. What truly sets this place apart is the staff—they are incredibly kind and helpful. Plus, enjoying breathtaking Pyramid views from the terrace is an unforgettable experience! Nothing.
- あおやぎ (10/5): Exceptional -
- Beqiri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lida (10/5): Exceptional - Calm and cozy , very friendly and helpful staff
- Nasser (10/5): The place is perfect. -
- Tahira (10/5): Great location, pyramids view from the room and rooftop - Very clean and spacious
Very attentive staff especially Aya who went beyond her duties to make our stay comfortable The surrounding area was a bit rundown
- Zayshan (10/5): 10/10 Excellent - The property was very clean. Amazing view of the pyramids from the rooftop. The room came with its own shower and amenities and the staff were amazing in booking everything you needed from taxis from and to airport down to the tours of museum or pyramids. Can’t fault this place !!! I have nothing negative to say amazing place
- Daniel (9/5): Great! - View and staff where amazing Great
- Chawandy (10/5): Exceptional - best view ever next to the pyramids
breakfast is delicious and have a lots of variety thanks aya hussein for everything definitely i will be back again
- Cabele (10/5): Exceptional - i booked a quadruple room with a pyramids view the room have two king size it’s around 45m with a big bathroom and view of the pyramids, private terrace, breakfast is clean and have a lot’s variety
- Kaylin (8/5): Overall we were pleased with our stay at New Scarab Hotel, especially with the kind and accommodating staff. However, th - We very much enjoyed our stay at New Scarab. In particular we were very pleased with Aya and Bosyna who were so kind, helpful and accommodating from our arrival to our departure. They allowed us to checkin early (and provided breakfast free of cost) and checkout late which we greatly appreciated as we were very tired. The room was very clean and comfortable. The hotel was very difficult to find. There is no signage and it is not indicated on Google maps which was very frustrating for us and our driver after arriving from a red eye flight from the airport.
*For future guests: the hotel is located beside ‘Malak Guest House’ and ‘Karnak House Pyramids View’.
- Eftichia (10/5): Exceptional - The view was amazing and the room was pretty comfortable! It has everything you might need. Also the staff was amazing! Every single one of them was very helpful and kind. I might come back just for them. Always grateful! Thank you for everything!
- Riccardo (10/5): Super calm and comfortable. Thank you - The view is simply incredible. They also let us stay in a room in the afternoon whilst we waited to leave. Amazing people. Thank you thank you thank you! Everything was great, everyone was super generous and always available to help.
- Martian (10/5): Exceptional - The stuff was helpful and friendly
So breakfast was delicious and they served fresh orange juice
Highly recommended ❤️❤️
- Andrias (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zahid (10/5): Excellent - It had a great view of the pyramids. Good breakfast. Mohammed helped us in all aspects like tours, transfers to and from airport. Very near to shops and restaurants. Excellent
- Mücahit (10/5): Exceptional - Hussein is very kind and Layla too
- Shilohrob (10/5): Would recommend! - I really enjoyed my stay! The staff is so kind and caring of their guests. The breakfast and restaurant are very convenient. They provide airport transfers and set up tours. The view is amazing. I would definitely come back here again.
- Sachinis (4/5): Disappointing - The view of the pyramids was incredible
- Konstantina (7/5): One of the best views of the pyramids, but an ok room other than that - The highlight is the view on the Pyramids. It is one of the hotels closest to the Pyramids and offers a really amazing view. The room could be cleaner and breakfast a bit richer. Also it would be great if the owners added indications in the main square next to the hotel with the name of the place and also outside of the establishment as it was hard to understand where we had to go.
- Venkata (6/5): Pleasant - Location is amazing - you are just a stone’s throw away from the pyramids. The view from the terrace is amazing and eating breakfast there every morning is really nice.
Staff is really friendly and kind - they helped us in making several arrangements and also we could get as many water bottles as possible from them. There was no limit per person per day which was a nice thing.
AC also had a heater mode which was convenient for us as we visited during winter and temperatures in Giza are very low in winter
Breakfast provided is decent - some items were cold but there is a large spread of traditional Egyptian and continental dishes The road to the building is slightly shady and is hard to locate. It’s a mud road and cabs won’t come all the way inside and you have to drag your suitcase on the mud/stone road which is very tough and tricky.
There is no elevator - so if you pack heavy it will be tough
There is no pyramid view from the room - pyramid view is only from the terrace.
Sheets and bathroom weren’t the most hygienic
- Vishnukumar (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kartik (1/5): Please do not stay in this hotel!! - Not much to like about the property apart from the location. But even the location has its disadvantages (more in the didn’t like section)
Breakfast was ok. There were a couple of ladies preparing breakfast and were somewhat helpful.
View of the pyramids was good. Now, where do I start.
Here are the points of our stay in Hell
1. No lifts which meant all luggage’s had to be taken all the way up 3 floors through a narrow set of stairs
2 once we entered the room, we noticed that the toilets were Very dirty, and by that I mean skidmarks still stuck to the bottom of the toilet.
3. No amenities in the room. No towels even provided until asked. No kettle. Tv that doesn’t work.
4. Owner is very pushy and after taking money doesn’t help in any way. He asked for 40% in cash which isn’t ideal. We reached at 2AM in the night and the owner was all pretending to be helpful until he got hold of the money but vanished after that.
5. No guards outside + non existent reception or helpers. Basically you are left to your own after the payment is hastily taken from you. It might as well be called a non-serviced apartment. No phone in the room to call reception or housekeeping. Don’t think that even existed.
6. The hotel was In a dark part of the side street so not very safe. We were really scared (with children) when the cab turned into a dark alley leading into the hotel.
7. This was the worst part. At checkout, there was no one to help, so we Had to carry all suitcases down 3 flights of stairs. Tried to contact the hotel owner and he didn’t volunteer to help. (Asked girls to help but I couldn’t possibly ask some girls to carry 20kg bags down 3 floors)
8. The owner convinced us to get a day cab. Pyramid entrance was 2 min away but owner planned a cab ride costing us 50 dollars + tips. Basically the day was wasted and we were heavily conned.
There are a lot more of these points which made this trip the worst trip of our lives but I think these should be reason enough for avoiding this hotel.
- Hazira (1/5): Bad - The view. The bathroom was unclean and reeked so badly. Also the latch on the bathroom door was broken and unable to close the door. The bed linen were so untidy and the balcony door had an opening( door was not property sealed) which left the entire room so cold. The owner Syed scammed us into booking the Giza tour, and the driver (Mohamed) literally took us for a ride : Took us all around for more than an hour before reaching the entrance to the pyramids which was only two minute walk from the hotel. The first day got wasted as the driver Mohamed kept taking us to useless places which tired us out. Even though we had paid for a drive to the museum before heading to the airport, they kept stalling for hours which left us no choice but to head straight to catch our flight. We had to haul our luggage down four flight of stairs as Syed conveniently ghosted us and instructed that the two girls (working at the hotel) carry the heavy luggage. Our entire stay was ruined. Stay away from such money minded people, not worth it.
- Arun (1/5): Not worth at all - It’s a home with few under construction rooms, nothing in order, super costly based on what they provide.
Breakfast is super cheap, feels many days old food served.
Unprofessional staff, can call you at mid night for marketing their trips.
No restaurant in the so called hotel. Food
Staff
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional -
- Connor (6/5): Pleasant - The surrounding area of Giza is smelly and very run down
- Dani (10/5): Exceptional - The nearest view and friendly staff highly recommended
- Mo (10/5): Exceptional - I spent three days, and each day I went on a different trip. I truly felt that I did so much in just three days! I loved that they organize the tours, so I didn’t have to book with other companies or struggle with communication with the drivers. It was definitely the best thing about this hotel
- Mo (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel is new and clean and the staff are nice and friendly highly recommended
- Saba (7/5): Please make sure about the inclusions are drinks prices when you book for tours and with the tour guide - Location near the pyramids The area is not safe to walk around during the night
- Teleba (10/5): Exceptional -
- Elizaveta (10/5): Exceptional - A quiet and beautiful hotel that I highly recommended
- Mustapha (10/5): Short and sweet - Gods for short stay None
- Даниил (7/5): Good - The accommodation is suitable for an overnight stay or vacation for exactly 1 night, no more!
Pros :
-The staff are young, nice guys. They have 0 questions. They 10 points.
-Great view, in principle as in all hotels near the pyramids.
Minuses:
-In the bathroom there are no hooks, nowhere to hang even a towel, you are forced to put things on the toilet. Also a terrible smell in the toilet.
-Hearing, right above the room is located terrace, until 2 am there were people resting, it felt like they were literally with us in the room, and we could not sleep.
Bottom line, MAXIMUM for one night stay)

- Willy (9/5): Comfortable and family welcoming vibes. - Great location. Only 5 minute walk from the pyramids.
- Stefano (10/5): Exceptional - What a wonderful view
- Tomohito (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast
location no elevator
- Leonardo (9/5): Superb - Thank you ao much for all your help and pleasant stay
- Elsa (8/5): Nice hotel to visit Gizeh in 2 days and start your trip in Egypt - great location and view on the pyramids from the terrasse. big room, all brand new. good wifi. calm hotel but sometimes noise in the neighborood. Young staff withgood english level to communicate.
They offered nice price for the taxi from the airport, they gave us good address to eat, they organised us daily tour with driver and french guide, and offered us to watch the Light and Sound show on the pyramids from their other hotel which is closest, that was nice.
very good quality price. the bathroom/toilet is really to small and not well finished.
no reception or same people during the 2 days, which complicated a little the follow up of our request on the guided tour program.
- Dominik (10/5): Incredible hotel with breathtaking Pyramid views and exceptionally helpful staff - Absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment we arrived at this hotel near the Pyramids, we were blown away by the stunning views and the outstanding service. Waking up to the sight of the Pyramids every morning felt surreal and added so much to our stay.
The staff was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make sure our trip was perfect. They helped us arrange tours and transportation with ease, making everything seamless and stress-free. Their genuine warmth made us feel completely at home, and they truly made our experience unforgettable.
If you're looking for a place with breathtaking views and a staff that helps you with transport and tours, this is the hotel to book! We couldn’t have asked for a better stay—highly recommended!
- Barry (10/5): The best pyramids view - Wonderful pyramids view and very helpful staff specially Maymony Everything was perfect
- Karsten (9/5): Superb - Helpful and friendly staff.
Location is excellent, rooftop gives you a great view of the pyramids of Giza. Breakfast was also very good and location if perfect, only 2 minutes walk from the entrance of the pyramids and the light show. The hotel also provides trips to several other sightseeings. At all I had a great stay for 4 nights but it should be better to stay here for 6 nights or a week. The hotel just started a couple of weeks ago and there are some small things to think about. The place is not on Google maps. Booking.com didn't give the total price and I had to pay a small amount extra. if you want to clean your room you have to ask and they will do directly
- Mano.caddy (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing view. Minne is a great host. Nothing
- Thuy (9/5): Lovely hotel with a good manager, value for money. - The breakfast was Ok for a short stay (cold food) but lovely coffee and tea. The room is clean, spacious and supplied with a kettle ,tea and coffee; comfort beds. Location is spectacular, just in front of the pyramids. limited choices of breakfast; need more offers such as omelet or hot food or some types of EU breakfast : cereals and yogurt ...
As it is a totally new hotel, the staff are still unexperienced therefore there was an unpleasant thing happened ( the staff asked us to pay £20 for a glass of orange juice and 2 mango juice but the manager came on time to stop this none sense charge).
- Jackson (10/5): The staff was very nice and helpful especially Aya! She made our stay excellent! - Great location and view of the pyramids!
- Nicolas (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing if you needed any thing go for Manar and Sayed very helpful breakfast is rich , area is surprisingly quiet Nothing
