It was so comfy that I ended up spending an extra day to get work done and could have easily spent a few more. Very comfortable room, beautiful view, and the most powerful AC unit in Egypt. Al hamdulilah. 🙏💯 Everything was great. It’s super close to the ruins. It’s only a ten minute walk to town, which was not great during a 47C heat wave, but I’m sure it’s totally fine normally. No real complaints, great property.

• Andrea Felicetti (9/5): - Struttura nuovissima che si affaccia sulle acque del lago, a pochi minuti a piedi dal Tempio, non possiamo valutare la colazione in quanto siamo ripartiti molto presto la mattina e non abbiamo potuto farla. Posizione molto tranquilla a pochi minuti dal centro dove ci sono i ristoranti e negozi. Proprietari molto accoglienti e disponibili.

We were recommended two restaurants for lunch and dinner. They ended up having identical menus and probably belonged to the same people

• Tara (10/5): - I had high expectations for this place based on the reviews, and it still exceeded them. I highly recommend staying here and seeing the temples in the afternoon, once most of the large tour buses have left. The owner, Adel, is an incredibly thoughtful and welcoming host. He has recently added an upper floor, and I stayed in one of the new rooms - it was beautiful and very comfortable (the shower was excellent). I was working while there, and the WiFi was perfect, but this would be a great place to relax and disconnect. Adel also arranged my transportation from Luxor and to the airport in Aswan.

De toutes façons, on se fait harceler tous le temps dans ce pays, c'est de la folie. Adieu Egypte, nous n'y remettrons pas les pieds et nous ne ferons pas de pub autour de nous. Vous êtes toujours entrain de nous harceler, vous auriez beaucoup plus à gagner de laisser les touristes se promener tranquillement, ils consommeraient beaucoup plus. Ça, c'est dît. Adieu

Después de estar en El Cairo, pudimos sentir la paz y calma de Abu Simbel, pudimos descansar tranquilos e ir en la tarde al templo de Abu Simbel, lo cual es perfecto porque hay pocos turistas, la mayoría viene en la mañana. disfrutamos de una hermosa puesta de sol en el hospedaje. • Norma (10/5): Excepcional!!! - El lugar es super tranquilo a orillas del lago Nasser, ideal para descansar y recargar energías. Tanto el hotel como las habitaciones son muy limpias, cómodas, espaciosas y con decoraciones particulares que las hacen encantadoras y únicas. El desayuno abundante, casero y delicioso. Pero lo que más nos encató, fue el trato de su dueño Adel, siempre sonriente, servicial, predispuesto para ayudarnos en todo, ya sea para llevarnos en su auto al templo, conseguirnos las entradas para el espectáculo de luces a la noche o traernos la comida que encargamos para cenar al hotel. Es un excelente anfitrión. Sin dudas, si volvieramos a Abu Simbel, nos hospedariamos de nuevo en su hotel. Nada que decir, nos encantó todo.
• Shupeng (10/5): Clean room friendly host - Room is comfortable, spacious and very clean. Breakfast is fulfilling. The guest house is by the water, and I saw a very lovely sunset on the patio. Host is very friendly and good humour, gave us really good advice on planning our time, and he also drove us and other guests around to the temple, to a nice delicious restaurant for dinner, made tea for us, and drove us to the airport at the end. If you can get up early, they also offer boat ride to see the sun rise if the weather is good. Overall we’re very impressed, if we ever make our way back in the future will stay here again.

• Richard (1/5): Serious Safety Issues - I can not comment on the rooms because we decided not to stay after a very concerning experience with transport organised by the Amon Guest House. Before our arrival, the owner of the guest house offered a taxi transfer between Aswan and Abu Simbel for $85 each way, which we accepted. We were even sent a photograph of the car. However, the vehicle that arrived was dirty and certainly not the car in the photograph. During the journey the driver attempted to avoid a police checkpoint by leaving the main road and driving along an unmarked desert track. The police saw this and we were detained for well over an hour at their checkpoint. Apparently, neither the car nor the driver was licensed to carry fare-paying passengers. The police, who were very helpful, eventually arranged a legitimate taxi (fare $50 each way!) for us to continue the journey. While at the checkpoint, we contacted the guest house to explain what had happened and to say that we were unhappy with the situation. The initial response we received was the one word, “Why?”. We heard nothing more from them for over three hours. Given the serious safety concerns raised by this incident, we decided not to stay at the property and instead booked alternative accommodation at The New Abu Simbel Hotel, which proved to be an excellent and super friendly hotel. The Amon Guest House has argued that it was not their fault and that they were only trying to help. However, it was their fault - they chose the car and driver, they quoted the fare and we would have paid the fare to them. We have yet to receive either an apology or a refund for the unused hotel room. We booked both rooms (two in the same place for the same date) with Booking.com, who have also chosen not to refund any money.

Adel est tellement accueillant et aux petits soins, il nous a amené au restaurant, aux temples 2 fois, après le déjeuner, il n'y avait personne sur le site, et au show nocturne. Le lendemain matin, nous sommes allés voir le lever du soleil sur le lac, devant les temples, avec son bateau, un moment magique 😍 Accueil exceptionnel, je conseille vivement. Un de mes moments préférés en Égypte, voyage de 15 jours.

• Jana (10/5): Charming guesthouse on the lake - Beautiful quiet location on the lake, simple clean rooms and delicious breakfast. But the best of all is Adel, the owner of the place, very kind and hospitable man. He helped us arranging the transfer from Aswan, gave us good advice to visit the temple at lunchtime (with very few turists) and drove us to the light show. I can only recommend to spend one night in Abu Simbel with Adel, makes the experience much more relaxed and enjoyable.

Il gestore ha una barca per poter visitare il lago, che però abbiamo scoperto solo alla fine del soggiorno - saremmo stati interessati a fare un giro per vedere i coccodrilli.

Nos ayudó en todo: nos fue a recibir a la estación, nos llevó con su coche hasta los templos, nos recomendó restaurantes, fue a recogernos con su coche después del espectáculo de luz y sonido y nos llevó a la estación para tomar el trasporte de regreso a Asuán. Las instalaciones son nuevas y las camas son cómodas. Todo fue perfecto

Stock, herrlicher Blick über den Nasseres, alles ziemlich neu, super Matratze und Dusche.Frühstück sehr gut auf der Terrasse unten, freundlicher und hilfsbereiter Besitzer, der uns zur Busstation brachte. nichts.

• Emma (10/5): Relaxing and peaceful 2 night stay - Adel is an excellent host, who made our 2 night stay at Amon Guest House very enjoyable. The guest house is clean and comfortable, our room was newly furnished to a high standard and beautifully decorated with Adel’s Egyptian paintings. The shared terrace also has a beautiful view of sunset over Lake Nasser. Adel helped organise our afternoon tour to Abu Simbel with a great guide, as well as organising our transport to and from Aswan. He recommended a good local restaurant serving delicious local food and went out of his way to ensure we had a good stay. We would highly recommend his guest house for a relaxing and peaceful break when visiting Egypt. Nothing

He went out of his way to make our trip stress-free, giving us complimentary rides to the temple for the light show and even handling our restaurant drop-off and pick-up. The property is wonderful—our room was newly painted, super clean, and had a fantastic bathroom and comfy beds. To top it all off, we had an excellent view of the sunset over the lake straight from our window. Highly recommended!
• Nikolas (10/5): A charming lakeside guesthouse near the temples, made truly special by Adel’s exceptional kindness and hospitality 😊 - We had a wonderful stay in this charming little guesthouse facing the lake and located only about a ten-minute walk from the temples. The guesthouse is run by Adel, who is truly the most adorable and kind person we have met since the beginning of our trip in Egypt. He goes above and beyond to make the stay easy and enjoyable for his guests. For example, he kindly offered—without expecting anything in return—to arrange our round-trip taxi between Aswan and Abu Simbel. He also drove us to the temples for both of our visits: in the afternoon on our first day and again at 6 a.m. the next morning. In the evening, he recommended a restaurant and even drove us there. The room and bathroom were extremely clean and had all the necessary comfort. Although the room is small, it was well arranged and allowed us to place two large suitcases while still leaving enough space to move around comfortably. • Kirill (7/5): - the friendly host. In general, Abu Simbel is going through hard times right now. the city is quite neglected, the infrastructure is weak. There are few tourists staying overnight and it seems that there are simply no hotels or guesthouses that can be highly appreciated now. I really don't like rooms without windows. Even realizing that even if there was a window, there would be nothing to look through it. Nevertheless, a room without windows is a minus and a minus again. A very primitive breakfast. It's just very primitive. There is only one table on the street that is comfortable for sitting, and if it is occupied, then bad plastic tables remain.

• Bonamy (10/5): - La guest house est dans un endroit très calme et reposant. Merveilleuse vue et couché de soleil. Adel est un hôte très attentionné. Ça fait du bien car il est disponible et de bon conseil. Il nous a véhiculé durant notre séjour en nous conduisant au temple et au restaurant.(sans frais) Le nouvel étage de la guest house est tout neuf, les lits sont confortables et tout est propre. Nous reviendrons pour le calme et la beauté d'Abou Simbel et pour la gentille d'Adel et de sa famille.
