- JEREMY (8/5): Great Location - Location was good, the nearest metro isn't Dongzhimen it is Dongsi Shitiao - literally outside the main entrance. Breakfast was excellent, fresh, hot and plentiful. Housekeeping and reception staff were open and accommodating. If you want to use the swimming pool bring a swim cap, they sell them at the fitness club desk for about $3. Excellent view of the city from the room.
- Herminia (10/5): Was good - Great location and comfortable stay!
- Laurent (10/5): -
- Torstein (10/5): - Great hotel in Beijing. It is easy accesible with metro as the station is 20 meter from the entrance. The room is big with Great View. Friendly staff. Also easy accesible to the AirPort as you can take metro 1 stop and then transfer to Capital AirPort Express.
Thank you for the stay.

- Haris_85 (8/5): Very good - Great location, fantastic fitness area Fixed shower head, outdated bathrooms. Not much of common areas, no vending machines even for water.
- Sivendra (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (2/5): Not suitable for travellers - Location is not correct , 10 mins walk luggage from AirPort Express train is a long walk with zero directions .Also note no elevator at translation.Try to order room service as declined charge to room and insisted on payment .
- annasJ7040NH (4/5): Not a 4 stars hotel - The air conditioning is not working!! It's+26 and it's a sauna in the room! I've asked at the reception to do something a day ago, nothing was done by the end of the day!!! It's night now and I'm just wondering if I will go on staying in the hot room, or I will go down asking to move our family to another room right now! Room number 515 - the air conditioning is giving just a hot air! Overall the hotel is tired, seems for 10-15 years there were no renovations. And it's absolutely not a 4 stars hotel!
- Sara (10/5): Exceptional - Very good location. The metro station was right outside the hotel entrance. The breakfast food was great and very diverse
- Süreyya (8/5): Very good - Helpful English speaking reception, Large and clean room, Very good breakfast, Next to the subway station of the ring line Nothing
- Alicja (7/5): Nice stay for few nights near to the subway - Women in this hotel are the best! They can speak English and are very polite, helpful and nice, from cleaner staff till reception staff. Very good location concerning subway (just in front of the hotel), good breakfast (mostly Chinese food, but fortunately it was also something European too). This hotel is a little old, some things are broken or don’t work like they should. Welcome tea was very nice gesture. The male staff didn’t speak English, they wanted us to pay more than it was already given on Booking. Nowhere was written that we need the head cap to use the swimming pool so we couldn’t, nowhere in the world someone demanded that from us.
- Liying (10/5): - Good.
- Miyuki (10/5): -
- Rickard (8/5): Very good -
- Hitoshi (10/5): - Cafe shop service was very good.
- Nils (8/5): Nice hotel for a decent price in Beijing - Location was great, breakfast was so so WIfi in my room was slow
- Benton-stace (7/5): Good basic hotel that just needs updating - Great location, good sized room, good breakfast, next to theatre, friendly staff, A bit tired and outdated e.g. shower in bath with curtain, dark furniture, dim lighting, nowhere to sit in lobby without buying a drink, minimal facilities
- Samantha (8/5): Very central to central Beijing. - Location, I was visiting a member of the cast at a show at the Theatre, which was in the lobby. A little bit dated
- Hitoshi (8/5): - At that time subway station Dongsi shitiao didn’t work , then I couldn’t ride the subway.
- XIAOXIA (10/5): - very good
- Monique (8/5): Very good -
- Eneyew (4/5): Disappointing - Location My first room was smelly and very hot and I couldn’t stay inside day time. No air-conditioning, instead they have a note on the table which reads “sorry the air conditioning is not available from 22 October” but on booking.com they mentioned air conditioning in the list of amenities.
- Toni (8/5): - Easy to access from the metro. Clean and pleasant.
- Emily (7/5): Good -
- Antony (8/5): All ok. - Convenient location, next to MRT line
- Gang (10/5): - Gute Lage, zu Fuß 1 min. zu U-Bahn . Nette Personal, ruhig.
- Peng (8/5): Very good -
- Mirdin (10/5): - Staff is very helpful.
- sumitkhetan (6/5): Just average - This is just average hotel. Our advantage of staying in this hotel that our business associate office is just 2 minutes walking from this hotel. The house keeping service is good . Coffee lounge at lobby level staffs are also good.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The hotel is consistent in its service. They took really good care of us.
- YUEN MEI (8/5):
- rickyv_12 (6/5): Average hotel - I slept here 4 nights while on a business trip, we got this hotel since the hotel opposite we under renovation.
The poly hotel is an average city hotel, rooms are not the newest or the cleanest that I have seen, I would say acceptable rooms, a/c and wifi were ok.
the breakfast was a hit or miss, located on the second floor offer a barely sufficient quality of food, it is mostly oriented for the local market, not really an international choice. if you get the time wrong its madness, no seats available a complete caos.
unfortunately there are only 2 elevators, which are not sufficient for the number of guests, sometimes you have to wait 5-7 minutes.
overall this hotel is not for business travelers, more suitable for domestic tourist.
- ALAINNA (10/5): good deal. Great location. - Good service. Clean. Good location.
- Darghan (8/5): Good size room - We stayed three nights at the Poly Plaza Hotel in May. The hotel has a large lobby and efficient staff. The rooms are large, clean and comfortable, but need a refurbishment. The bed was comfortable with good quality bedding. The air conditioning seemed to be pre-programmed and didn’t really cool the room on hot nights. The hotel is in a good location. Breakfast was the best thing about this hotel, with a great variety of food. Overall a comfortable and affordable hotel in a good location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel is extremely hard to locate and the address that Expedia has is not correct when entering into Google Maps etc
Bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
Staff including housekeeping were extremely helpful and friendly even given the language barrier
- SpaceTravelee (6/5): Old style hotel - Was put up at this hotel by business associates. Was charged a high price of approx 800Rmb for a room without bkfst. Room was old and worn, bed super stiff. For the price, you can get much better and modern hotel. Only thing good was located near to the subway.
- Verified traveler (6/5):
- FRANCOIS (6/5): - hôtel moyen. Service moyen.
- Wieland (10/5): Good deal for the money - I always stayed at the Swisshotel that is closed for renovation. This hotel is across the street and very similar. Note the reception desk is inside the Polyplaza Theatre lobby.
- Pierre-André (8/5): - Wonderful facilities - a bit hard to find, however.
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Average stay - It was ok, not fabulous! The Region ist not a good one. The good thing is that the Subway station is right nearby the hotel.
- cantesynge (6/5): Not the best hotel of our trip - I was in town for business working at the Poly and was put up in their attached hotel. The rooms were not very large or well-apportioned compared to other hotels, sadly, and the fitness area was closed for renovation during our stay. The restaurants in the hotel, while lovely, did not cater particularly well to foreign guests. The hotel breakfast offered was quite good, however. But for the convenience of working in the same building, I might have chosen a different hotel.
- helenpJ3922HQ (8/5): Good location and clean room - We had a nice room on the 8th floor with A/C. Very clean and had 2 bottles of water each day. Though refrigerator barely kept anything cold. Elevator was quick. We bought the breakfast buffet in the mornings which had both western and Chinese food. Sometimes we would walk across the street to the Starbucks for a change. Overall the buffet kept us full so we could just have a light lunch when we were out and about. It seemed that only one front desk person spoke some English. But he had a Chinese to English translator on his phone as did we. That was a great help. As for some of the restaurants like the Tea House, when we would approach the entrance, the hosts didn't speak English. So we would use our translator to want to see a menu. She had to get her manager who spoke some English. But what I found frustrating was they wouldn't offer us a menu to look at before going in. If we are at the entrance by the host, she never said a word until we did, which she couldn't understand us anyways to just look at the menu. The other restaurants were not clear as to what they served, not because it was in Chinese. Their were tables and a counter. When we asked to see a menu, the staff seem to not know what we wanted from them. We ended up only having breakfast at the hotel and ate at other places down the road.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Not a good experience stay with this hotel. Stay away.
- ivanb52 (8/5): Overall good value. - Good points
Room comfortable, clean and quiet. (old fashioned decor but who cares)
Front desk staff were pleasant and helpful.
Breakfast buffet very nice plus both egg and noodles chefs.
Well located with metro station out front.
Overall good value.
Less positive
Insufficient lifts for the size of hotel, often requiring long waits.
Look of the ground floor cafe / coffee shop ensured a trip to Starbucks across the road.
- HubertCurran (6/5): Badly needs a makeover - Tired looking hotel, fairly well located and accessible to the metro. Staff look a bit harrassed and the bar was a joke - ran out of beer after serving 2 only and then couldn't find a cool one. There is a snack area in the foyer but the food is pretty awful looking. Breakfast was OK. The ATM had difficulty coping with transactions and usually required a staff member to help. Lifts were truly awful - waits of 10-15 mins were not unusual and they seemed to bypass floors at will. Rooms need a makeover badly
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- Verified traveler (8/5): - We had a free updgrade to a supposedly larger room which was very much welcomed. The room was comfortable and spacious.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Convenient location and friendly staff. Took about 80 Chinese Yuan from the airport to the hotel by taxi. Metro entrance is in front of the hotel.
- Lennart (10/5): Very nice hotel with great location! - The hotel is perfectly located in close proximity to both good restaurants but also proximity to the subway so it is easy to get around to other parts of Beijing. The hotel has a tea garden close by the reception which is open 24/7 which is great service! I can definitely recommend this hotel!
- teresajp2017 (8/5): Good Hotel - We stayed here for two nights and found that it was very clean, comfortable, quiet and affordable. The staff spoke some English, which was very helpful and we enjoyed the food in the Western restaurant. It was easy to find from the underground station and we will definitely stay there again.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Fair - A bit noisy from the corridor.
Location is good, right up the subway, about 40 minutes from the airport.
A supermarket in 5 minute's walk.
- Verified traveler (8/5): -
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- sarasM8928FO (6/5): Usual service/too expensive - This hotel is in a good location in Beijing very close to the subway station line 2 which has transition stations to almost all other lines. It is also quite close to the city center. However, the rooms are really expensive and the staff are not helpful. Although it is much more expensive than other hotels in other cities it does not even include breakfasts! Well not go here again!
- Verified traveler (10/5): -
- Willem (8/5): Fairly good hotel, close to public transport - Good hotel, spacious room, breakfast a lot of choice ( personel somewhat over-servicing :-) )
The internet is very poor, very very slow connection.
The location of the hotel on the map on the site is incorrect. The location is right next the metro station Donghshi Shitao ( ( NE side)
- laura (10/5): - Very nice hotel, clean and modern, great location close to subway, staff is friendly. I will only stay here on future visits its the best!
- victoranalogy (4/5): Basic but a decent-ish location - A nice hotel overall.
Attached to a theatre which is random but pretty cool. The rooms are tidy, but I found the beds to be a little uncomfortable.
As a business user I found the wifi to be useless which is a pretty big deal, mind you you're in China so remember the internet is tightly controlled: no social media and hard to get your emails out without a VPN, so perhaps this was to be expected.
The staff were helpful although only a handful of them spoke or understood any English at all, which I normally wouldn't expect as I'm the visitor to their country, but this hotel is attempting to deal with international clients, so it may make sense to have a few more English speakers knocking about.
Essentially, as a business user you stay here because it's cheap. No other reason. There are much better options around.
It does have a handy metro station underneath it, which is super useful, however these stations are so common around the city it almost makes it moot.
Overall it's meh. Stay if you must.
- Verified traveler (8/5):
- 893stephaniew (6/5): There are many options to stay in Beijing. . . you could make a better choice - We had to stay at this hotel for two nights as part of our trip. We had no choice but to stay here. In reading other reviews and researching, this appears to be a government run hotel, so if you are looking for the experiences of a four star or five star hotel. . . this is not it. This is a basic stay. There are a few amenities (a couple bottles of water, free wifi) but the mattresses are really hard to sleep on and the ventilation in the hotel is poor. (We were told to open up a window). The "Western Restaurant" is also and interpretation of such. You are better off going to eat at the Swiss Hotel Across the Street.
Our room was clean and the staff was nice and friendly but I was not comfortable during our stay here. You are better off staying closer to other tourist attractions through private hotels.
- ASALT62 (6/5): The images on the web site are very kind - Not brilliant but cost effective and centrally located. Not a bad hotel but not good either.
Service is lack lustre but the room is clean but run down. Heating is murder in winter as you cannot turn it down. Windows open but that's worse when the smog is bad.
Breakfast buffet was OK with reasonable service. It does seem wain when things go wrong.
Good price but if you can afford it there is a Swishotel over the road.
- Pui Shan Edna (6/5): - The room is dated and need refurbishment, neighbor are mostly local Chinese and the English of staff are poor.
- KristineMcc (6/5): Practical but... - An older government hotel.
It had all the right parts and would certainly appeal to a certain older male crowd.
I didn't like that the air conditioning didn't work and in Beijing pollution that is important.
floors are being renovated - so I expect there will be some changes.
- 759alviny (6/5): very slow check in,check out and poor training on the staff - It says Poly Plaza Hotel is a state-owned hotel, so you can understand why their service even can not achieve the average of four-star hotel. Undoubtedly, its location is very good. The subways station is just in front of the hotel. But i don't know why they need too much time for check in and check out, in average, it took me more than 20 miniutes.Whenever the staffs meet you, mostly they won't see hello or greeting to you. Only the mid-age foreman in the receiption smile to you.
