• Liz (10/5): Excellent Views - Excellent views from our bed of the ocean and beach was so close, hearing the waves crashing in from your bed is special. Monkeys, Macaws, Parrots, and sloth all were a joy to watch from this quaint 4 room hotel hanging over the edge of lush forest. We thoroughly enjoyed the views from our balcony and pool of the famous "Whales Tale". Delicious Breakfast was served at the time of your convenience. Laundry service, king bed, clean room with kitchen, A/C and hot water. The owner is very attentive to your needs and responds immediately. The owner also owns a 5 star restaurant "La Uvita Perdida" off site a short drive away- with Excellent views of the whale tale, with amazing sunset views, and the best food and service, don't pass on this experience. There is also an Italian restaurant immediately next door-walking distance from the hotel is excellent. Loved all.

• Peggy (9/5): Wunderschöne Anlage mit wenigen kleine Bungalows - Schöne Familiäre Unterkunft. Tolle Aussicht. Von der Terrasse konnten wir Tukane, Aras, Lizzards und Affen beobachten. Wir haben von hier eine tolle Schnorcheltour unternommen. Dort konnten wir nicht nur Fische sehen, sondern auch Schildkröten und Haie. Die Fahrt auf den Berg ist etwas mühsam.

Der Blick vom Pool und der Terrasse in die Natur und auf den Pazifik ist bezaubernd. Pablo und sein Team sind absolut hilfsbereit und freundlich. Frühstück ist top! Genialer Ausgangspunkt für die wunderschönen Aktivitäten in der Umgebung.

• Gamze (10/5): Perfekt! - Traumhafte Lage, toller und super netter Gastgeber, wunderschöne Anlage, schöne, saubere Zimmer. Der Gemeinschaftsbereich lädt zum Verweilen ein. La Uvita Perdida macht den Aufenthalt in Uvita nochmals deutlich schöner. Mit einem 4x4 lässt sich der Weg zur Unterkunft sehr gut bewältigen. Vorher erhält man eine genaue Anleitung und Wegbeschreibung mit Fotos zur Unterkunft. Alles war super !

• CHRISTINE (7/5): Une maison dans les arbres dans la jungle mais attention à la route d’accès - Beaucoup de charme dans la construction comme une maison dans les arbres, vue sur l’océan magnifique , accueil chaleureux de Pablo qui nous a tout expliqué. Le petit déjeuner très bon. La piscine pour se rafraîchir après une journée de randonnée ou la sortie en mer pour voir les baleines et les dauphins. La route d’accès, une piste caillouteuse, complètement défoncée et dangereuse, il nous était impossible de sortir le soir par crainte de la route de nuit sans aucun éclairage. Seule possibilité de restauration le restaurant italien à côté accessible à pied, très bon par ailleurs.
• Kingfisher (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay here. The ocean views from the common area with swings was absolutely beautiful and relaxing. The rooms are very clean with a small balcony for privacy. We also spotted a sloth and monkeys in the surrounding forest. The beach is only a short distance away. Getting here requires a 4x4 and Pablo does give instructions about the turning but it can be easily missed so it would be good to have for a sign at the turning.
• Margit (10/5): Alles prima - Abgeschiedene und ruhige Unterkunft am Hügel. Ein Mietwagen ist ein must have! Wir wurden sehr freundlich vom Unterkunftgeber empfangen. Schöne Terrasse, von der man den Ausblick in den Dschungel und das Meer genießen kann. 1 Gläschen Wein pro Tag ging aufs Haus - hat uns sehr gefallen! Der Weg zur Unterkunft ist abenteuerlich. Offenbar wird der Weg demnächst saniert.

• Sarah (10/5): Excellent property in a fantastic location with a personal touch. - The location and view were amazing. Pablo, the host, was extremely helpful, beach towels provided and the meals in the sister restaurant were fantastic with a great sunset view. With ample seating areas and a small infinity pool, the property had a very relaxed feel, even offering a free drink in the evening as you watched the sunset. We would love to go back and would recommend it to everyone. The access road is fairly demanding but with careful driving, even a two wheel drive car can get to the property although this was in the dry season.

Vi så både toucaner, brøleaber og en sloth under vores ophold her. Vi kommer meget gerne igen! Den eneste ulempe er vejen dertil er lidt udfordrende grundet grusvejen.
• STUART (10/5): Perfect base to explore the Uvita area. - Amazing location set on the hillside over the Ocean. Rooms are clean, well equipped with A/Cs . There are nice communal areas and a super dip pool to watch the sunsets with a glass of wine. We had no car, but were put in touch with a super driver who ferried us around at very reasonable rates. We explored local waterfalls and had an amazing time whale watching. Uvita has a lovely vibe. There is a super Italian restaurant next door where we ate twice.

Allein für den  atemberaubenden  Sonnenuntergang hat sich der Aufenthalt dort gelohnt.  Den vorherigen Bewertungen zur Anfahrt können wir zustimmen: sie ist tatsächlich stellenweise prekär. Mit einem 4x4-Fahrzeug jedoch zu bewältigen.

• Daniela (10/5): A wonderful stay during our trip through Costa Rica - Our stay at Pablo’s place was just wonderful. We had such a good time enjoying and sleeping completely in the nature, while being in the center of Uvita within a couple of minutes. Getting waken up by the monkeys in the morning as they’re running over the roof is a truly lifetime experience. Breakfast ist delicious and always freshly prepared. There’s also a shared kitchen and common area, where you can enjoy the sunset and have a good glass of wine. Everything is clean and some many small details, really well thought through. All in all, we would definitely recommend this place!! Concerning the road: when we were there it was raining (heavily) every day and we didn’t have a 4x4, but it was still completely fine. Just take it slow & easy and it works smoothly :) Nothing :)

Le petit déjeuner était très bon et varié, le ménage fait tous les jours. Nous avions une chambre avec vue sur l’océan qui nous a fait réserver deux nuits de plus. Tout était parfait.

Habiamos leído que se necesitaba un 4x4 indispensable para acceder, fuimos en un Suzuki Jimmy sin activar la tracción, no nos pareció tan dificil el acceso la verdad. La ducha. Salia ardiendo o fría, y toda el agua se dirigía fuera de la ducha y acababa mojando todo el suelo del baño. Recomiendo cambiar el cabezal.

We saw monkeys on our first night and heard them galopping around on the roof on our second night! Beautiful modern stylish bathroom. Space to stack and organise your stuff, A/C and fan to recover from the humid heat. Very friendly owner who makes you feel at ease: thank you for your welcoming smile, your contagious chill, the love and passionnate vibe you put into this place and your creativity! Wonderful and arranging staff. Delish breakfast. The indications to find the hotel were very clear so we found it without any issues. You just have to drive slowly to avoid the huge potholes in the unpaved section, but even with our low-rise car we didn't have any problems. Don't even hesitate: that's your place to book in the region! Beware: you will be sad to leave!

(10/5): Paradise on earth. - I really loved the peace and tranquility of the lodge built overlooking the Pacific Ocean surrounded by dense forest, occupied by local howler monkeys and white faced capuchin, sloth and toucan. You will need to drive a 4×4 or car with exceptional grip to access the place. The rooms are exceptionally clean, spacious and inviting. There are no curtains on the window so only the monkeys and toucans can see you! Pablo is a fabulous host with such interesting knowledge of the area. He is attentive and helpful. The breakfast is delicious especially the different fruits which you are given each day, plus a choice of 3 options in addition. The view is perfect overlooking the ocean and is where you look out from as you eat your breakfast. The WiFi is good and there's always hot running water. There's a great Italian restaurant next door which has lovely staff and serves house made pasta and amazing desserts. I would definitely stay again here. Pablo also owns a beautiful restaurant, some way from La Perdida. It's stunning and overlooks the Whale Tail, where 2 beaches meet at low tide, creating the appearance of a whale's tail! Both food and staff are great. It's really worth a try. You really have to love nature to stay here as it's a bit out of the way for some. I think it's really worth the effort as it's so unique.

We would recommend his place - Amazing location with lots of wildlife and stunning views over the sea from the communal seating area. Make sure you have a 4x4 vehicle otherwise you’ll be risking your deposit on the hire car! The access road is extremely rutted and rocky.
• Gthuery (8/5): Very good - We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this charming hotel nestled in the mountains near Uvita, offering stunning sea views. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed for our visit. We also appreciated the inviting shared spaces, which made it easy to relax and connect with other guests. Pablo was exceptionally helpful and accommodating both before our arrival and throughout our stay. The included breakfast was a delicious start to each day. The drive to the hotel is challenging, and a 4WD vehicle is essential to reach the property safely. I wouldn’t recommend staying here without your own car, as the hotel is quite far from Uvita and walking would not be safe. The shower took some time to heat up, and the bed was not very comfortable.

• Tom (9/5): Highly recommended stay in Uvita - Great location with lots of wildlife on your doorstep. We had a troop of capuchins pass our bedroom every morning. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The driveway is quite challenging. Take it steady.

Excellent host who was readily accessible and very helpful. Quiet, boutique place to stay, we spent 4 nights here. Most hillside hotels around Uvita have steep and partially unpaved roads. This place is no exception. Definitely need vehicle with high clearance and 4x4 would also help.

Phenomenal stay, don't think twice, book your stay at la perdida. Nothing to not like, one of the best places I've ever booked.

The sunset drinks, the lighting in and around the room, the cleanliness, the kindess. We even saw macaws, a sloth, frogs, iguanas, and white face monkeys — all on the property. I won’t forget these days :)

We enjoyed quiet evenings with a glass of wine watching birds in the jungle and the view of the sea. When we were lucky, we could even see adorable monkeys from our room. We hope to come back and can very much recommend La Uvita Perdida.
• Makiko (10/5): Tranquil and magical place - Very special place! Tranquil Ambience and the gorgeous view. The best Costa Rican style breakfast! Well designed and clean room with beautiful bathroom and shower. Throughout the facility, everything was well organized and every little detail made the stay so pleasant. Shared fridge and kitchen sink was a nice bonus. We spent a lot of time in the common area to enjoy the view of the jungle and the ocean, was magical during the sunset. Surrounded by wild life such as Tucan, Macaw, Sloth, Monkey and more (we missed a sloth and monkeys but other guests saw them) Pablo welcomed us warmly, was very helpful and accommodating! As many mentioned, the dirt road leading to the place looked a bit challenging at first. Pablo provided us a very good direction so we drove slowly and it was fine.

Our room was so sweet with a little balkony to the rain forest. There is a very nice little pool. Drinks you can buy, and you get one for free each day. Very nice. Also very good breakfast. A lot of cozy places to sit and relax and enjoy the ocean view or all the animals in the forest. I could stay here forever:). Pablo was a very nice and helpful host. I was a little worried about the road up to the place because of some reviews and we didn't have a 4x4 car. It was really not a problem. We just took it very slow. It didn't rain though.

• Ian (10/5): Amazing experience in an outstanding setting - This place is amazing and Pablo a superb host. The access road is a little tricky but take it slowly and you will be fine. We didn’t have a 4x4 and it had rained heavily all night - it really wasn’t a problem. Our room was spotless with a balcony view over the forest. The property has a nice plunge pool with sea views. There is a large terrace area with swing seats which also affords sea and forest views. Each night we had a complimentary drink on the terrace whilst chatting to other guests watching the sunset. The property really is a true taste of Costa Rican hospitality and you will be glad you booked here. Next door is a superb restaurant called Gusto. It gets busy so our advice is book in advance. Definitely recommend if staying in the Uvita area. The local beach Hermosa is wonderful, especially if you like a bit of surfing, and Palbo organised a whale watching trip where we got to see 2 females and a 10 day old calf plus lots of dolphins. There are so many nice touches it’s impossible to list them all so my advice is just book and find out for yourself.

• Dominique (10/5): Fantastic place in the jungle - Amazing little hotel, perched on a hill surrounded by jungle - view from our room was beautiful. Had a troupe of monkeys playing around our balcony and a toucan who kept visiting the tree directly in front of our balcony. Absolutely nothing!
• Pippa (10/5): Paradise! - La Uvita Perdida is an absolute gem - I can’t rate it highly enough. From the serenely peaceful room with wonderful jungle views to the sun trap swimming pool, the plentiful breakfasts to the very welcome free glass of wine or beer, we had everything we could possibly have needed. Pablo was a kind host and helped to organise very reliable taxis for us during our stay. I’m already dreaming of returning! Nothing, it was perfect!

Nice little touches: complimentary sunset drink; candles by the room door; delicious breakfast; swing chairs on the terrace and a classy plunge pool.
• Naomi (10/5): Beautiful lodges in a great location - We loved staying at this lovely hideaway. The lodges are located in a gorgeous setting in the jungle and you have beautiful views over the canopy and sea. We saw loads of toucans from the balcony. The rooms are great, again with great views and super clean and comfortable. The pool and chill out areas were great to relax in the afternoon. Pablo was a great host, and made sure we were looked after and gave great recommendations. Nothing!
• Justina (10/5): Exceptional - The location and view was beautiful. It was a unique hotel, peaceful, cosy, romantic and so relaxing. The host was attentive, helpful and fun to be in his company, a lovely young man. Breakfast was lovely and tasty. Bed was comfy. An amazing experience. We didn't have transport so had to rely on taxis as it is a difficult drive up to the hotel from the road. I knew this before I booked so expected this to happen so carnt complain, just think it's something you should know before booking.

Pablo, the owner is very friendly and can give lots of good advice about the area. You will need 4 wheel drive to get there, the last stretch of road is rough. Payment is in cash only.

• Kristina (10/5): Exceptional - We loved the location, perched above the forest with fantastic views over the Pacific. Pablo, our host, was very welcoming and made good suggestions about where to swim. Liked everything! The steep access road was a bit scary the first time - you definitely need a 4x4.
• Neslihan (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect! Amazing breakfast, very peaceful environment and unbelievably beautiful nature. I only advice to reach to the hotel daytime because the road is little bit hard to reach when it is dark for the first day. Later you will get used to it.
• Wolla (10/5): Amazing - This is a hidden gem with so many positive elements, so it is hard to mention everything. For starters, the host was responsible, friendly and very service minded taking good care of the guests. The room was amazing, windows and balcony facing the Jungle outside. Common areas very cozy and clean. Small pool but fantastic view of the forest and the Pacific. Breakfast excellent and you can buy beverages from the fridge. A small warning though, this place might not suit everyone. Access is through a very bumpy dirt road, so you need a car with ground clearance and four wheel drive. The host is focused on wildlife, so lighting is kept low at night. My room had no curtains, so there was daylight at dawn. And although there is a restaurant close by, you have to drive to get to shops etc. But none of this bothered me, on the contrary it just added to the tranquility and the feeling of being close to the amazing nature of Costa Rica. Bonus points for seeing monkeys, tucans,hummingbirds and gekkos up close. I will visit again for sure. No complaints whatsoever

The simplicity and attention to details allows you to dream away and disconnect completely from the daily rushes. What I enjoyed the most is the diversity of views that you get depending on where you stand. From ocean views, to the lush jungle of colourful flowers…you get it all. I would come back anytime as also Pablo contributes to this incredible atmosphere with his hospitality and care for his guests. The cherry or may I say grape on top of an unforgettable trip! Nothing

The view is just stunning; you can observe so many animals from the jungle and listen to the beautiful sounds of nature day and night. The rooms are very comfortable with big windows, so you literally wake up with a jungle view. The breakfast is delicious, and a glass of wine on the terrace finishes your day perfectly. The staff is very friendly, and Pablo helps you out with everything you need. Thank you for that memorable stay.

It's just a little difficult to get to minimum signage, and a major downhill path to the entrance. After a couple of times of coming and going you get used to it! As said. Only the road to it
• Agnes (10/5): Blissful getaway in nature - This was a sister getaway and we were looking for a secluded and quiet place in nature. We absolutely loved the location; it delivered on all aspects. We were surrounded by beautiful sights and sounds of the ocean and rainforest. The small size of this place ensured the intimate family-like atmosphere. We loved sitting in the swing chairs and looking at the ocean and the rainforest below. The small swimming pool was perfect after a hot day at the beach. There were several extra areas to sit and relax, as well as a kitchenette so that even with more guests you could still have your own space and privacy, which we really appreciated. Every morning there was a choice of three types of breakfast which was always beautifully presented, and when we bought extra fruits Pablo offered to cut those up for us and make juice. :-) Pablo was an exceptional host. I read in past reviews how accommodating he was, but it wasn't until we stayed at the property when we fully experienced his home-like hospitality. Our already high expectations were definitely exceeded.
