Guest Reviews
- Angela (10/5): Perfect!👌 - The host was lovely and bent over backwards to accommodate us whenever my daughter and her friend had to dance in Ballarat and we needed a place to stay who could an early check in or later check out. The property was exceptionally clean and lovely and it had everything we needed along with some extra special touches like tea/coffee options, a lolly/biscuit jar which the girls loved and a very well stocked pantry! It also had great heating/cooling and a big tv! It was a short stroll to Lake Wendouree which was great for morning walks and breakfast at the cafes/sailing club and there was also an IGA which was just up the road from the apartment and a pub/bistro directly opposite the apartment which served lovely meals . The city centre was about a 5 min drive so was also convenient for us to get to Her Majesty’s Theatre for any performances. The best part is that it was the first unit and on the ground floor so there was only one small step up onto the verandah. Handy when you have costumes and heavy luggage to carry inside.
So a big thank you to our lovey host Craig and we look forward to staying again in the future! 5 stars from us!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nothing

- jennifer (10/5): - Loved this place, just wished our stay was more than one night. When we arrived at the place it had a welcoming feel to it.

- Boardman (9/5): Cosy 2two bedromm stay near Wendouree Lake Ballarat. - Very, cosy, clean two bedroom apartment. Comfortable beds, the lounge room had recliners with a smart TV. Nothing
- Andrew (9/5): We really enjoyed this apartment and will be our first choice for Ballarat stays from now on!! - Neat, clean, welcoming, conveniently located (very short walk to a pub and supermarket etc). Generously stocked with condiments etc. Fantastic access to streaming TV options. Street parking was easy, apartment could not have been closer (ie unloading etc was not a problem). Literally the only thing we could mention is that we couldn't get the Nespresso machine to work - that would have been nice.
- Paul (10/5): Great value for money - Position cleanliness facilities were perfect Tight but everything we needed
- Holly (10/5): Attractive, clean, had everything we needed. Loved the little private courtyard. Would definitely stay again. - Attractive, clean, had everything we needed. Loved the little private courtyard.
- Secker (10/5): - Very comfortable, home away from home. The home was furnished well, very neat and tidy. Well appointed with the extra touches that were very much appreciated such as bottles of still and sparkling water, a bottle of milk, butter, spreads, and other basics as well as some treats.
The host was fantastic, friendly and very accommodating. Information on places to eat was also great. We couldn't figure out how to put on the bathroom exhaust
- Maggie (9/5): Convenient, comfortable and well equipped unit. - All was as described and photographed. Cyril has been thoughtful in providing many facilities plus little extras. The sofas were comfortable and TV and wi fi worked smoothly. The private courtyard was a bonus: a bbq would have been good but as the flat is in a block then I'm sure this wouldn't be allowed. Off street parking. Quiet street at night. We cooked but there's a hotel across the road. A knife sharpener would be useful. The bathroom is a tab dated but it all functions.

- Kelly (8/5): The property was neat, clean & comfortable. - It was spacious & well located. The lollies & complementary water were a nice touch. Would have preferred a separate toilet & also some complementary sugar for my coffee.
- lin (10/5): - extremely goood! strongly recommend!!!
- Christine (9/5): Top notch and great location. - It was stylish, clean and the extra touches like lollies, cookies, little bags of chips and other treats.

- Stephanie (10/5): - The beds were super comfy and the welcome drink and Lollie's on arrival was very sweet.
- Scott (9/5): Perfect for families and the Host is excellent 😁 - Location is perfect for family. Lake Wendouree and kids parks are only 5 mins walking distance. Hospital is a 5 minute walk, IGA supermarket is around the corner.Parking available at the front and onsite. The apartment has everything you need and the Host is great to communicate with 😁. Highly recommended and you won't regret your stay. Not a bad thing to say ,but if you do have a baby that requires a dark room? Do sleep in the second room as it's alot darker then the front room.

Beautiful courtyard Nothing to not like
- Bernadette (10/5): - The little extra touches - the welcome goodies, lovely big towels and information on local amenities were much appreciated. The location was superb - close to the lake and high quality local eateries. Nothing. Excellent value for money. Gorgeous apartment.

- Jodie (10/5): Lovely property , quiet and felt secure, nice location . - It was clean, lovely decor and had everything we needed , felt safe , loved the back garden and also had a big TV to watch our yearly Christmas movie on.

- Denita (9/5): Amazing property - The property was amazing, it was very clean and exceptionally well equipped with everything that we needed, as well as the extra little touches like the snacks in the pantry, and quality toiletries in the bathroom. The linen was soft and luxurious and the outdoor courtyard was lovely and private. A fully equipped laundry was an unexpected bonus. Nothing

- Suzanne (8/5): Magnolia Place was a good place to stay a little away from the city, off the main drag and close to the lake. Facilities - It was close to the lake and town. Easy to find. Street Parking at front ok in this case.
Opposite across the road was the Oval Hotel
a lovely place to eat. Nice food, ambience.
Beds were reasonably comfortable
The decor was pleasant but not my taste.
Loved the movie viewing setup with Netflix and couches. Facilities were good and loved the coffee machine and little garden at back. The cheap deodorant smell greeted us permeating our olfactory devices (noses) as we entered and there were deodorants everywhere and cheap plastic plants.
The building we were in (1950,s) seemed spooky for two women friends and deserted. No choice of pillows on beds - big hard cold gel pillows - I found 2 softer ones in cupboard but they were non allergenic or the covers had been used, but had to use them. Didn’t think of bringing my own.
Heating system was difficult to work out.
Some instructions could help maybe?

- Steven (9/5): A cosy stay - We loved our stay at sparkling springs. The cabin was clean and well maintained and had everything we needed for our stay. The outside area, was lovely, lots of places to sit, and cute little pond. Great views onto the lake and close to all local amenities. The owner was very responsive and communication was great. The cabin was also good value for money. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this accommodation and would stay there again ourselves. There was nothing we didn't like. The cabin was small but storage was good. It was quite cold when we were there but we were supplied with an electric blanket, hot water bottles and a heater so it was nice and cosy.
- Chantal (9/5): - Service was amazing! They delivered a travel cot to us when we hadn't organised earlier. The place was comfy, clean and quiet. Great location.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Tracey (8/5): I would come back and definitely recommend to friends - Facilities, location, very comfortable. Beds are so so comfortable we slept wonderfully I think there could to be a hand rail stepping into the bath for a shower. Also a non slip bath mat provided.
- Yi (10/5): Warm and beautiful stay - Warm and hearty Spider webs
- Elissa (10/5): Welcoming, warm, relaxing, great location and excellent value. - It was welcoming, we checked in at 8pm the heater was and lights. Everything was beautifully set out and clean. There were some lovely little extras left for us to enjoy. Nothing
- Beccy (10/5): It feels like a home away from home. - Fantastic location. Beautiful little home with everything you need. Hosts are lovely.

- Hozaifa (10/5): - The property was clean and well maintained. The kitchen had everything. There is nothing as such. It is an excellent accommodation.

- Lorraine (9/5): Very happy with our stay at this cosy unit. Price was very reasonable and great communication. - Great location. The beds were fantastic. Very comfortable and beautifully set up. Fantastic heating. Nice touches in the kitchen. Very comfortable recliner chairs. Warm decor. Could do with lights in the courtyard.

- Gavin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Olga (10/5): Comfortable clean apartment made us feel like home. - Comfortable apartment made me feel like home. N/a
- Rebecca (7/5): Warm and cosy. Very comfortable beds. Great location. Standard of cleaning needs a little attention - Great location, cosy, warm. Very comfortable beds and cosy comfortable sitting area. Lovely little courtyard. Pub across the road does a fantastic meal. Cleanliness needs attention, especially for the price point. Stovetop and splash back very dirty on arrival, previous occupants rubbish in bin cupboard. “Laundry” area cleaning also needs attention.
- Jacinta (10/5): A beautiful hidden gem in Ballarat. - Magnolia by the lake was clean and a real home away from home. Beds were very comfortable and extra blankets available if needed. Snacks and treats were left for us to enjoy.
We enjoyed the recliner chair in the lounge and Netflix available for movies. Lovely courtyard garden. Felt private and safe. Off street parking available.
Loved the location as close to city central/ lake and all the Wonderful things Ballarat has to offer.
Very friendly and helpful hosts.
Glad to have found this lovely home.
Highly recommend to others and hope it's available for our next visit to Ballarat as we would love to stay again. No complaints.

- Crystal (7/5): Good -
- Kym (9/5): Superb -
- Emmalee (9/5): Great place to stay at the last minute. Super spacious- great atmosphere. - Presented very neatly and cosy. Extremely happy with the availability. Nothing - the owner easy to get along with. Appreciated the kindness.
- John (8/5): Welcoming, comfortable and well-presented apartment with two double beds. - I had work at the Rural Clinical School which was a short 5 minute walk away. Given parking is difficult near the hospital, the location of the apartment was very convenient. It was only 5 minutes to walk to Lake Wendouree and excellent coffee at the Yacht Club. The communication from Jess prior to arrival was very helpful.
It is nice to have cooking oil and a well-equipped kitchen for self-catering. The shower over the bath is very good. It was a very cool couple of days in Ballarat and instructions for the warming of the apartment would have been helpful. I just layered up for two days. :) No biggy but I noticed that it probably isn't a spa bath and the property area would be 100m2 rather than 1000m2 as listed!
- Scot (10/5): Superb property - Location & charm Not a thing
- Yazdi (8/5): We were happy with our stay. - 1. Property was Neat, tidy and quite well presented.
2. Host was super friendly and accepted our feedback 1. I found the accommodation to be very compact and unsuitable for my family (with 2 young kids who like to run around). 2. The window blinds definitely need maintenance.
- Janelle (5/5): Passable - Location Central heating didn’t work and there was a cold snap two of the days.
The bin had rubbish in it, no liner, the fridge was not clean, remnants of vegetables in the crisper.
It was my second stay at the property, first stay was excellent. Didn’t enjoy second stay.
- Caines (7/5): Overall a good place to stay - Location is great. Complementary food was a bonus. Unit overall was good Attention to cleaning could be improved. Wifi was a bit ordinary
- Cherie (8/5): Very good - Location was fantastic facilities good in apartment Nothing
- Caroline (9/5): Superb -
- Beck (3/5): Poor - Complimentary white wine was past its best before date, no sugar, accomodation information claimed it had a spa. It did not.
- Kirsten (8/5): We had a great get away in Ballarat. - It was comfortable and very quiet. We found the lock difficult to work at first after some trial and error we figured it out. Getting in was no problem we found it difficult to figure how to lock the place when we left.
The supplied tea and coffee was lovely . Black tea would have been a treat.
- Melanie (7/5): Good - Lovely house. Comfortable. Warm. Well located. Upon arrival, the instructions to enter the house were not clear and we could not get the keypad to work. We attempted to contact the host via text message and phone - no response. Eventually we got it to work after 20minutes. We expected better service for accommodation charging $500 for 1 night.
