Guest Reviews
- Jose (10/5): - La amabilidad y el trato del personal y su eficiencia.
- John (6/5): Good place to disconnect from the noise. - Good location, Spacious and cleans room and bathroom No air conditioner and wifi in the room.
- Rejaine (7/5): Despite the challenges getting there, my stay was beautiful, memorable, and truly worth it. - • The rooms were beautiful and well-designed
• The bathrooms felt unique and special
• The lodge itself was peaceful and scenic
• The traditional breakfast was delicious and memorable • No Wi-Fi available in the rooms
• GPS pin on Google Maps is inaccurate
• No road signs at night, making it hard to find the lodge
• Got lost for several hours before finding help
• Lodge is far down a gravel road from the main road
Makua Bush Lodge could greatly enhance the guest experience by installing Wi-Fi in the rooms, as this would add convenience without taking away from the rustic charm. It would also be very helpful to update the Google Maps pin so that visitors are directed accurately, and to place clear signage along the gravel road, especially for those arriving at night. Providing detailed directions with booking confirmations would further ensure that guests can find the lodge easily and arrive without unnecessary stress.

- Nametso (1/5): they didnt allow us to sleep there - Nothing we went there after travelling a distance only for them to tell us that they didnt see our booking and also they had cancelled the bookings from Booking.com so we had to find somewhere to sleep in overrall they had poor management of their booking and they are not even remorseful for the situation they caused for us
- Elizabeth (7/5): Its a great get away but always get all costs in check - - Staff is always welcoming, they were happy to see me again and again
-Peaceful as it was just us family - The food catered for 20 was small
-Charges for using pool was not communicated and other family members didnt come prepared for payment as the assumption was that we will be having food and relaxing.
-Little compassion to nothing was received from owner when trying to negotiate price and it was my second time visiting the place and have made referrals throughout the year because of the pictures i took but the reception from owner was distasteful (We know business is business and there were no bookings but us)
-WiFi was not that good
- Tatum (10/5): Exceptional -

- Tapiwa (10/5): It was amazing! I highly recommend to others and would come back again. - Everything about Makua was amazing. 10/10 rooms. And vibes and scenery. Just the lack of activities.
- Elizabeth (7/5): A wonderful Stay - Staff was lovely Little improvement on the food the meat was bit burnt from the braai and hard

- Casper (8/5): Very good -
- Merlyn (1/5): Bad -
- Evelyn (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mosimanegape (8/5): Very good -
- Chedza (7/5): Quiet and peaceful stay. - It's not too far from Gaborone but it's far enough for a peaceful stay. This was my second time staying here and the lack of a (bar) fridge remained a problem for me. Additionally my stay this time around did not come with complimentary breakfast.
- Khomisani (6/5): Pleasant - Staff, the environment ,location No television, fridge, microwave in the family suite and no fridge nor television in the other rooms
- Kay (6/5): Okay but location was extremely misleading - It is NOWHERE near Mochudi!!!!
- Sono (1/5): Bad - Different prices for accomodation. Online pricing does not tally with over counter price. Matters worse there was no alternative solution for the mistake they have made and i had to look for accomodation elsewhere.
The google maps directions to the facility are also not up to date.
I will never go back to the facility nor recommend it for anyone.
- Pontsho (1/5): Great disappointment - Nothing The staff would not let me check in because they said the price I got on booking.com was wrong. The owner refused to speak to me and said the employee should not give me the keys
- Chanio (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dihutso (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gilbert (7/5): Good -
- Malebogo (8/5): Very good -
- Bopape (6/5): Peaceful stay, but the place could use a revamp. - The actual location of the place is pleasant. very remote and very quiet with the occasional livestock passing near the fences but generally, a lovely place. There was wifi but the signal was not strong enough to reach our unit. There were chipmunks in the thatching (not necessarily a terrible thing but not everyone is a fan of sleeping with rodents in the roof. All amenities are there as per their pictures, they are just not how you would expect them to be, so leave a bit of room for a slight disappointment there.
- Dipholo (10/5): Exceptional -
