- Shamsidin (7/5): Good -
- Patel (4/5): Not happy - Price The steps were too steep, if you're carrying a lot of luggage be careful, I already fell once and hit my back bone. If you have too much luggage pick the 1st floor. Shower head was broken, in the other room we booked there was a leakage in the bathroom just above the toilet.
- Eldhose (7/5): Good -
- Natalia (6/5): Pleasant - District, personal is very nice. Whater boiler worked not always, and in the morning, it just switched off when I was in shower. And conditioner didn't work at all, but administor gave me ventilation. So ask about this facilityes before booking.
- Sami (1/5): Don’t ever think to stay in this hotel, even staff didn’t give extra pillow, not accepting any card, bad smell and dirty - Nothing in this hotel is good Staff is not cooperative (spent 30 minutes to change dollars ) because he is not accepting card or dollar ,
Bad smell
Broken washrooms
Rubbish kitchen
Broken beds
Ac not working
Water heater not working
Staff not allow to see the room before full payment
Dangerous stairs
- Saifallah (8/5): Very good -
- Ia (8/5): Very good -
- Johnleech (7/5): Opravdava nisku cijenu i ne očekivati previše - OK, Let's be clear. For this price, don't expect a red carpet, a bathtub full of soap and... this is really the most cramped space I've ever been in, which justifies the price. Mahmut, our host, tried to help us all day. The problem with water, gas, internet, bugs, he tried to solve everything as best he could and he is the best "thing" in this apartment. Honestly, for this amount I can't be in my own city and it's clear. The position is excellent, a kilometer walk between the metro/Marmaray station Yenikapi, the T1 tram of Bagcilar-Kabataş, you have the T6 for Sirkeci under the window. So you can go anywhere, anytime.
It's clear that the owner needs to refresh the appliances, including the walls, but it's not unreasonable and it's somewhat nice. Only a hundred meters away is Kumkapi, the center of the settlement with music and lots of tourists.
I repeat a series of shortcomings that are mostly objective, the host is trying to solve as far as he can, but don't be unfair and expect something special for such little money.. Ima tu posla, ali zahtjeva ulaganje
- Sharon (7/5): Good -
- Denise (5/5): Passable - Proximity to Blue Mosque Bed was uncomfortable. Very flat at one side. Not really good to people with walkingʻ difficulties due to slanting stairs
- Wojciech (3/5): Poor - The pictures do not represent the actual condition of the rooms. During our reservation, we were forced to change the room (our luggage was moved by personnel). Additionally, it was difficult to communicate with non-English speaking personnel.
- Gaspard (8/5): Good cheap accomodation and well located - Probably the best price/quality in Istanbul, it was the cheapest Accomodation for 4 that was available.
But you get what you paid for. Two double beds and a bathroom. It does the job but do not expect any luxury. Stuff are old and only what’s necessary is there. There were towels, soaps and shampoos. Excellent for groups on a budget that just want a cheap place to sleep. Location is very good, street looks extremely shady but you actually are very close to nice streets with restaurants and 20mins walk to many touristic attractions. Staff was cordial and accepted to keep our bags before check in and after check out for a couple hours. It’s old and not in an excellent state. The paint of the ceiling in one of the room was falling apart.
- Andjela (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (5/5): A very cheap apartment for those willing to compromise - The location is basically a slum, but it is safe and the restaurants there are cheap - especially compared to touristic places (Taksim, Grand Bazar etc.). You have access to metro and buses 10/15 away. The staff was really nice and we were served tea and water. Just make sure to bring cash. Also, there is a very respectable shop selling everyday necessities nearby. The blankets and towels were clean. Ok, so, the showers were broken - a glass pane was missing. The toilets are positioned in a very weird way - you barely have any space for your knees, unless you position yourself diagonally (again, uncomfortable). The water is not drinkable. The water temperature in the shower is inconsistent - it changes from hot to cold every 10 seconds. You have to wait a minute or so to have a constant temperature. The windows and emergency doors were insulated by scotch tape that was old and crumbled, making a horrible sound at night with the wind blowing in the room. Considering that windows were practically always open, and the heating didn't work, my room was VERY cold, which resulted in a prolonged cold. One of the beds collapsed completely - one of my friends had to sleep at an incline. There was only one blanket for 2 people. We had to buy our own toilet paper (very little was provided). Also, electricity went out 4 times in a span of 30 minutes - though this only happened once.
- Jen (6/5): Pleasant - The staffs are accomodating.
- Vakhtangi (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel has very good staff. You can reach the central places very quickly on foot. The hotel is clean and they take care of cleanliness. We had a flight at night and on the day of checkout, the host left our luggage at the reception. I had a family room and I am satisfied!
- Zeljko (6/5): Pleasant - The workers were very polite and helpful, we had many towels and hair drier. The room is big and light. There were no forks, the toilette tap and the shower were not working really well, but they were functional. We stayed for 5 days without room being cleaned which we expected according to the Booking. The hallway smelled on weed. Beds are not so comfortable.
- Hasan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Hasan (6/5): Pleasant - I booked 2 apartments one of them 3(persons) nice see view with good room size
Hospitality
Location near train station
Suitable for young travelers No elevator with danger stairs not suitable for elderly
Only cash euro or Turkish lira no cards or USD
Very bad pillow no extra pillow and one of us stay with out pillow!!
Old building need some renovation
Small bathroom
No 24 hour reception every time i need something i have to call the owner so he come to reception
No table to eat what you cook!
- Abdelmoumen (9/5): Superb -
- Durga (5/5): Value for Money - Price No Elevator
- Maxima (7/5): Good - Location was good, close to shops and restaurants and in walkable distance to Grand bazaar. Kitchen wasn't that well equipped, pots could could be replaced with new ones. And for 2 days wifi wasn't working.
- Soliev (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jurgen (7/5): Barato y aceptable - Location Pay in cash
- Ali (4/5): Disappointing -
- Khan (8/5): Good enough! - For the price value, perhaps one of the best options to stay over in Istanbul. The host though accommodating is a bit amateur as opposed to being a professional hotelier, the same goes for the lodging itself which basically functions as a stay-at place with almost all the basic amenities provided for to stay there at one's own convenience.
- Jahanzaib (6/5): Pleasant -
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional - Thank you for being nice people The people are so nice
- Diego (1/5): Bad - I would have liked something if the owner acted with a bit of sense A lot of things, but mainly the fact that we couldn’t go to our room after a certain time and also the way he behaved all through the stay by judging and working lazily with disgust
- Mohamed (10/5): Exceptional - Very very nice and comfortable and quiet and nice staff
- Aslan (1/5): Bad - Very bad staff and owner i booked for 2 days and was very bad days in my life because of owner and staff Very bad staff and owner i booked for 2 days and was very bad days in my life because of owner and staff
- Md (10/5): it is good but little bit noisy, but it is nice - continuous support and cleanliness they cannot speak English so I had to use translator
- Muhammad (10/5): Good hotel - Very nice hotel
- Melika (4/5): Disappointing - Location and restaurants near the otel The radiator was broken, and the room was cold.
The room was not clean.
The shower was not working properly.
- Prowa (9/5): Superb - Great place to stay.
- Mohammed (2/5): Very poor -
- Jasirka (10/5): Exceptional -
- César (9/5): Superb - Very clean, easy subway route. Good view. Everything good
- Ammar (8/5): Great location and low price - I like this hotel because of its location and price. It is next to Sultanamet, the central location to Yenikapı Metro İstasyonu Mescidi at a bit walking distance. In this important location, it charges a very less amount. It is a budget class hotel with excellent location. It is a very lavish and luxury hotel but excellent to stay. I had direct sea view from the room number 6. It does not have elevator and stairs are sharp which require extra precaution and safety measure. It may be dangerous for aged and weak travelers. You can book lower floor to avoid it.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - The host is great!
- Tsilinskyi (8/5): Best variant for Inexpensive holidays - Good personal, kind man who give us gas bottle to our kitchen because we came to cook something in hotel. Pretty clean room, tv, bathroom.
- Iyiku (2/5): Very poor - The location of the place is very good for shopping and moving around the town ( transport wise) I think the building needs a good renovation and good staff. For example, when it rained it was running into the rooms . We have to put towels on the floor to walk on . It was booked for 7 nights. After 4 nights we went to visit another city. We left some of our stuff in the room . On returning our stuff has been moved to the reception area. . The reason they gave for this was that they are maintaining the room . We were moved to another hotel. On checking some of our stuff was missing. We were not too bothered. But we needed one of my medications I left in the room before travelling (cod liver oil) . The reception said he will bring it to the hotel they relocated us to . I came back to him later the same evening he said, he was going to bring it . But before we left he didn't bring it. Even,he was the one that directed the taxi to the hotel he relocated us to. The staff in the hotel don't know what they are doing. I would have made problems with them but because I was with my family I decided to play safe. I will not recommend the place to my worst Enemy.
- Zbigniew (8/5): small flat, but everything was clean, beds comfortable - The flat is not new, but it is clean. You can see the owner takes care of the place. There is noise from the highway but it is constant as the cars go fast, so it is not disturbing. Location is wonderful. The whole quarter of the city is wonderful. It is a Christian quarter so there is no much noise from muezzin early in the morning. There is a train station 5 minutes away. Trains can bring you to the metro or to Sirkeci station (google does not show this train connection!). Very comfortable! There is AC only in one room. We needed to keep the window wide open all night and luckily there was pretty strong wing that pushed fresh air into the rooms.
There is a kitchen but it is so small and has no window, so making meals there is not possible,
Because the windows were wide open at night, a cat visited the flat and made a shit in the shower. Of course the owner is not responsible for that because in Istanbul cats are everywhere. But if you hate cats, you must be aware of the problem.
- Khan (3/5): Poor - Hotel cleaning is worse.
Our room comood seat was broken. Hotel staff must arrange taxi because some time we don't now local language
- Ahmed (6/5): Pleasant -
- Hasani (10/5): Worth every penny -
- Micky (6/5): We did not like it, not.coming back - Location
Approachable host
Parking Host does not accept bank cards, informatuon on booking.com is incorrect
Toilet seat was broken, no real kitchen facilites, no kitchen exhaust etc. Told host, but not changed.
Balcony had lot of clutter and rubbish outside the room.
The review is only for family apartment on first floor (where ae stayed) and in general require significant improvement and renovation.
Reaching through tight streets was always challenging in private car
- Mohamad (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jiauddin (7/5): Fair - Staircase is not suitable specially for kids and elderly people Poor service quality
- Alex (7/5): Good -
- Javidian (5/5): I am regretful for choosing turkey for my special day. - Price was affordable for us. Overpopulated area, narrow allays, smells awful
- Salome (7/5): Good -
- Ginimol (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location - 24 min walk from Blue Mosque
Friendly staff willing to go above and beyond
Good facilities N/A
- Noor (9/5): Superb -
- Erika (10/5): Exceptional - Really nice property and really kind stuff, I would totally recommend it.
- Sergei (7/5): Good - Very friendly hosts, clean bed, toiletries. The bathroom is very small and completely uncomfortable. There was no table or chairs in our room, only a bed, wardrobes and bedside tables. This is very inconvenient if you need to do something, because you can only sleep in the room. In our room, the wardrobe did not open all the way, because the doors rested on the bed. There was an emergency exit sign that shone green around the clock, above the door to the balcony, which was blocked.
Steep stairs, our room was on the 5th floor, quite difficult to climb, keep this in mind.
- Aleksei (10/5): Good - Very good hotel, and very good people's
- Cassandra (7/5): Good - Friendly accommodating staff, not very much English spoken so make sure you have a translation app. Facilities weren't perfect, but met our needs and were in line with the budget friendly price.
- Sifat (6/5): Pleasant -
- Darren (10/5): Exceptional - Good hotel here Good hotel here
- Adrian (3/5): Basic accommodation, moderate cleaning, not pricey. - The only thing positive on the property was the price paid and that the owner was welling to help with all the things we needed(but mainly things that weren’t functional) The location was not good at all, it is close to the train and main bulevard(and yes it is noisy), the neighborhood is bad, a lot of garbage on the streets(it is close to a market), narrow streets and if you came by car is really hard to find a safe parking spot. The cleaning is really basic(the counter sink was filthy, no cooking available, just a fridge. The stairs are “circular” (you need to be careful when you go up). Even if we had a reservation they give our room to a diferent guest just because we arrived later(but within the checkin period). So we had to stay 1 night in a different place that was worse than our booked room(hot water only in the shower). Our room had the central heating system for the entire floor, when someone was using the hot water you were hearing the heating system working and it is not fun at all especially during the night. Worst part was when we were wake up at 01:00 by the owner asking us to check the central heating system as the neighbor complains the water was cold 🤦♂️. If you came by care make sure you check if they have a parking spot available. As even if it’s listed either free parking they told us that they have only 2 available and that they are full. He tried to charge us 15€/night. When we said no, they found a solution.
