Guest Reviews
Bre, fuyez ! J'ai dû dormir ailleurs !

- frankiebaby (1/5): tiering - there was a couple in my room that were not booked in and, it as difficult to get them to leave .and then I was overcharged
100 for the 2 nights which is hike in price for that hostel the couple in my room
- Chris (6/5): Basic good for just a bed for a few nights - Location and price can’t beat it for dublin
- Lauren (6/5): All in all ok for sleep only, I’d come again - After reading the reviews I knew what to expect, it’s a fine place to stay for a night if you’re only sleeping there, it wasn’t really uncomfortable, I brought my own pillow, the beds creak and rattle, but we were so tired so fell asleep right away, my friend was woken by others in the house, as the sound travelled, but I slept fine, you could open the window a bit so that was good, the bathroom was ok, busy at 9 am but check
Out is at 10 am so not surprised as there’s only one. We didn’t use the kitchen. The cleaning lady was a nice girl. It’s a bit run down with broken glass from a broken window, as previous reviews state, it’s not that clean, but it’s still ok. I drove here for a night after a concert so I had my own pillow and sheet.
The bathroom was stuffy but also not the biggest problem. The numerous door locks made it safe, but I’m not sure if I’d have felt safe here alone as a woman. It’s semi noisy, but that depends on who’s staying there, if you travel you know people can be inconsiderate, not a place like this’s fault. If you share the price per night it’s worth it.
- David (1/5): Bad -
- Connor (9/5): Superb - The price was excellent and the room was comfortable and clean and it has a good location.
- Ejemba (1/5): Bad -
- Ejemba (1/5): Bad -
- Arnold (1/5): DO NOT GO THERE, NO REFUND - HORRIBLE UNHEALTHY - Nothing found the room to be in an unsanitary condition
(presence of mold, excessive dust, dilapidated flooring, toilets not cleaned, toilet paper soaked, dishes not done, ripped parquet...).Unable to reach the owner by phone, nobody answered and the voicemail is always full.
- Mou (8/5): Very good - Staff were helpful, washing machine and launderette in the hostel for the guests to use. Very small lobby and almost nowhere to sit outside of the room.
- Mou (7/5): Good -
- Abderrahmane (7/5): Good - Good Good
- Chris (6/5): Pleasant - Internet not working
Shower drain blocked
- Carlota (1/5): Close this site - I didn't like it at all It was very dirty. It was disgusting to shower or even brush your teeth. They don't change the codes so people who have stayed before can get in even if they are not paying. It is dangerous and I do not recommend it at all.
- Andrii (1/5): Bad - Anything Awfull place with disgusting beds
- Jacki (1/5): MANAGMENT SADLY LACKING...TO SAY THE LEAST! - Day 1 - Upon check-in, found dirty bedclothes, with pubic hair to be seen; no pillow case on pillow. Upon enquiring from other guests, it was said there had been a man in the bed, who hadn't checked out on time.
Day 2 - From 09:00am - 2:45pm, no electricity for the entire day, until cleaning staff arrived and reported the matter. With no Internet access, as a result of the power cut, and no way to contact Management by telephone, as the tel. no. provided by the property is not valid, it was not possible for the guest to report the matter.
Newly checked-in guest believed there were towels as part of the reservation, and had to use a T-shirt as a bath towel, as there was not a single towel on-site and certainly no staff to give him one, had there been any.
Incidentally, there is no bath tub on-site, as advertised by the property - only a shower.
Consequently, there was no security whatsoever, as the front door access coded lock works only by electricity, and does not lock behind a guest, once there is power cut; one guest found to be shaving in the dark in bathroom; work emails unable to be sent, research unable to be undertaken and legal responses unable to be provided. According to another guest, this was the second time this had happened, whereby there had been no electricity in the house.
Day 3 - A previous guest, one who was barred from this property, aswell as from the nearby sister property; after staying at Fernando's Place the previous night, with no booking, it was stated, gained direct access to the room the only female guest in the house was booked into, which requires a keycode to enter.
Day 5 - New guest to the room found dirty sheets on the bed, upon going to bed at midnight that night, and had to change the entire bedclothes.
Day 6 - Once again, from 9am - 3pm, no electricity for the entire day, until 'cleaning' staff arrived to the property and reported the matter to Management.

- Komara (4/5): Didn’t enjoy it at all - Nothing The shower was either too hot or too cold and the beds were shaking almost like they were breaking too scared to get on them and there was no heating room felt like a fridge
- Valentine (1/5): Disgusting - Nothing Dirty, used beds
Drafty window and freezing room, heater did not help at all
Kitchen really disgusting and dirty with mould in the fridge
Wi-Fi password didn’t work
Shitty bathroom
- Mnqobi (4/5): Disappointing -
- Mnqobi (5/5): Passable -
- Ailton (7/5): Good! But you need to have a person in charge of the house to avoid these kinds of problems. - Of the freedom to use the kitchen Lack of organization, there were people in the house who didn't have check-in, because I spent the day outside at school and ran the risk of taking my things. The correct thing would be to have a person present to have control of the house and leave the guests calmer.
- Shuana (1/5): Book anywhere else NOT HERE!!!! - Yo nothing there's active mold everywhere!! This place is hazardous. They have travelers sleeping in squalor mold growing out of the walls unmade beds. They treat the staff horrible which is why they cannot hold onto cleaning services. They are not recommended!!!
- Abderrahmane (9/5): Superb - Everything is good No everything is good
- Abderrahmane (8/5): Very good - Everything good No everything good
- Guntis (1/5): I never standing in this kind of apartments and in the futurer I will never will take it… - Location… that’s all… Cold.. broken window with the whole… not any heating systems in the house except electric batteries which one trigger out breakers…
- Azeez (1/5): Bad -
- Ana (10/5): Exceptional - Wobbly house of a ghost bus tour extension is all I did. Awesome fat story
- Karin (1/5): A hole in the wall, but at least it's in Dublin I guess. - The location was great and the neighbourhood is nice, however not much else. There's a functioning kitchen but too bad it's too filthy to use. There's wifi, but my data worked better. Everything. The beds were broken so you can't properly climb up to your bunk, once you finally get up there though you're met with some nasty mould...there's barely any space to move in the room and if you need to use the restroom then too bad because there's no toilet paper either! On top of that you can't even complain to staff because they're never there! They have signs asking you to wash your dishes but there's no dish soap either. The shower doesn't drain and the bathroom ceiling is full of mould. Literally every single surface is dirty.
- Gabriella (1/5): This is a cheap place to stay in Dublin if you’re not too phased about hygeine. - The property was at least within accessible distance to the city centre with close public transport in a quiet neighbourhood Knowing full well the bar was pretty low when I checked out a room in Dublin for £20 a night, this still managed to shock me. The rooms were filthy, as there was mould all over the ceiling and chewing gum still stuck to the walls, even next to my pillow. The beds were also broken, as the railings of the top bunks we stayed in had come off the ladder Further, there were no clean towels to find for love or money. The bathroom was also riddled with mould and looked like it had not been cleaned, and the shower wouldn’t drain. The fridges in the kitchen also stank when opened, even if for a second or two. Finally, there was no toilet paper after the first night and it was not restocked, and there were no staff present at any point to notify.
- Olasunkanmi (7/5): Good - Yes everywhere is good just the beds need to fix The beds every thing else is cool
- Ezekiel (1/5): Bad -
- Hilary (1/5): The gentleman who opened the door said that there was no hostel there. -

- Jennilene (1/5): Left as soon as we could! Not a nice or cosy place - We did not like anything about it. Maybe the location was the only positive because it was near a bus stop As soon as we arrived, our room was not even clean. There were small crumbs and bits on the floor. I felt uncomfortable with the people who hovered around in front of the kitchen door and toilet door. It was not a nice atmosphere.
We left as soon as we could and booked another place to stay.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Noriko (2/5): Never again - Room was fairy clean The worst thing is the lock of the window was broken, although my room was on the ground floor and the window was facing the street. I felt very insecure to leave anything valuable when leave the room.
And, although it was advertised as "own toilet & bath", I had to share those with others.
- Liberty (5/5): Passable -
- Theodora (1/5): Bad -
- Alina (4/5): Disappointing - I think my blanket had been used before, had some obvious stains on it.
- Ivan (5/5): Passable -
- Isabella (4/5): Disappointing - it was fine. it was clean there was a warm bed, that's it. not really a "hostel" experience, no locks for things or a checkin or staff. honestly it should be like 10-15€ but it's a warm place to sleep and everything was clean i'd give it like 3 stars
- Gustavo (1/5): Horrendous - Anything, the host didn't even send me the e-mail with all the information that I needed: the pin to access the house, the room and the number of the bed. I was lucky enough there was a guy there that helped me. I didn't like anything
- Sharon (3/5): Disappointing - Beds broken, floor torn up, shower went from hot to cold and was blocked.
Uncomfortable and unhygienic that the toilet and shower was practically in the kitchen.
Dangerous steps by fridge.
Horrible smell.
- Ricardo (8/5): Very good -
- Lesley (1/5): Uncomfortable and not secure - There was a drunk guy annoying me and another pregnant woman
- Mirowska (1/5): Bad - Coeducational rooms. You dont know who you are going to be roomed with until you arrive. Being a female who travels solo and being roomed with 3 guys isnt pleasant at all. And the state of bunk beds, they were just falling apart.
- Ibekwe (1/5): Bad - Roof over my head Everything! Especially the bathroom. Won't think of lodging there again
- Emily (7/5): It was a good place to stay for a short trip, warm and well connected to the village and the train, plus it was well con - It was good for cooking plus sleeping and a nice warm place, and not too crowded plus not dirty. It was a little bit hard to find.

- Balázs (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leon (3/5): Poor -
- Isabel (3/5): Meh - The beds were comfy It wasn’t clean at all and the shower stopped working. They fixed it, but then it was either burning hot or freezing cold. We also got locked out at some point because the pins were changed for the code. Our ground floor window also did not lock
- Larry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Murillo (5/5): Passable - Nothing The beds, location,price
- | (6/5): Pleasant -
- Abdeldjalil (6/5): I enjoyed my trip and will come to your hotel again. - A quiet place The kitchen utensils are dirty.
- Armando (1/5): Run - Run from this place The place was horrible, dirty and ugly. My bed was peed by a drunk guy the day before, the whole place smelt very bad and I had to wait until midnight and fight with the administration to be relocated to another hostel managed by them.
- Philip (5/5): Passable -

- Dillon (7/5): Good -
- Luiz (6/5): Pleasant - It was clean The location is too far away from the airport
- Milada (9/5): Superb -
- Thomas (5/5): Very affordable and genuinely a great location but not the most secure / cleanest. - The location was excellent, a short busride from the city centre and just round the corner from a really nice coffee shop and all the people we met in the small village couldn't have been nicer. At 25 per person just book the single bunk bed room and you've got a room that easily sleeps 4 people for 50 quid a night. Not bad. The bed had crumbs in it and the sheets clearly hadn't been changed, luckily we'd brought a sleeping bag liner so we didn't have to touch the duvet or sheet and we put a t shirt over the pillowcase. Back door was wide open and access from the back door via the street outside was a little concerning. (Just a short fence that you wouldn't need to jump to get over) I think we were the only people there, literally no staff or other guests. Shortly before we left we noticed some clean sheets on a shelf in a storage room just left of the communal kitchen so if you do stay then you could always change the sheets yourself.
- Seliina (4/5): Fine room, bad host and experience - It was a good location near a bus stop and we had a private room which was nice The room itself was good, however we had a very uncomfortable experience. One of the other residents made my friend and I very uncomfortable, and tried to break into our room to get to us multiple times, but after messaging the host telling him exactly what happened and simply requesting for confirmation that our room code is private and letting him know that we were too scared to go to the bathroom, the host never answered us. We would’ve expected to be supported by the host, and by not getting that, and not feeling safe, it ruined our stay at Fernando’s.
- Raiss (5/5): Passable - Shower overflow
- Muhammad (1/5): Bad -
- Jed (2/5): Very poor - Door code didn't work so we couldn't get in.
Beds weren't cleaned, stains all over bed.
- Shauna (1/5): Here awful - Absolutely nothing Couldn’t get in so checked round the back door wide open no working locks apart from the lock to actually get in tried ringing to no answer just takes ya money n let’s you wing it.

- Holly (7/5): Aye grand - Does actually exist. Door locked us out but tbf got sorted
- Fabianna (3/5): Felt unsafe and unclean. - Bathroom/shower did not lock, neither could the window in the room and the door leading to the back garden. A pile of nail clippings were on the dresser. Throughout the entirety of our stay, the owner did not respond to WhatsApp messages or calls, especially when I was trapped in the bathroom.
- Clare (6/5): Good budget option if you don’t intend to spend much time there - We stayed here while attending forbidden fruit festival
We were looking for budget accommodation, somewhere to just rest for a few hours and close to the venue which is what we got. Met a lady cleaning the rooms who was quite friendly self check in was efficient The reviews made it seem terrible but it is not! You get what you pay for this is budget accommodation. I do feel like it could benefit from some paint and the garden being cleaned up slightly but we had no complaints
- John (1/5): Fernandos Flea Pit - Seeing it disappear in the rear view mirror when we drove away The 8 hours I spent in this cess pit
- Aldina (1/5): The property is illegal to use as an hostel - Nothing Everything isn't like the pictures
- Steven (1/5): Bad -
- Justin (2/5): Very poor - The property was completely misrepresented in the listing. There was no bathtub, as listed, no hot water (which was uncomfortable due to there being no heating through all the common areas and bathroom), and the shower did not work. Additionally, the address is not even the correct address for the property (the correct house number is 22, not 19), which led to issues with check-in. Last, the bathroom is covered in mold, the mattress had what appeared to be a blood stain, and the kitchen was a mess our entire stay. Very frustrating when the property is so drastically different than what is advertised.
