Location was far enough away from busy square and hostels - but short walk to supermarkets, restaurants and bars. Clean rooms. Saw two sloths in the trees in the property. Thin walls so you can hear everything - especially as our room was next to the communal kitchen. No daily cleaning / or towel changes - have to ask for this.

It’s more like a nice hostel than a hotel. - Pros: - location - comfy firm mattress - clean Cons: - there is no reception, so we had to wait 25 mins for someone to come to give us the key to our room. - every time someone used the shared kitchen in the morning (starting at 6.45), we were woken. We could tell the people in the kitchen were trying to be quiet, but the rooms are not fully sealed or in any way soundproof, so we heard everything. Minor things: - no sockets beside bed - no bin in room
- GraniteRN (8/5): Comfy bed and room. - Close to plenty of good restaurants and shops. The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was especially so. I really liked having access to the shared kitchen and the pool. There is no hotel office on site. I was lucky enough to catch another guest outside who knew how to get in touch with the innkeeper. Apparently, she had sent check-in instructions via the Booking.com app, but I had not had internet service for a few days. It all worked out, but it would be good to have a back-up plan for guests like me. Another guest arrived the next day with the same issue.

But… the best thing was Pepe the sloth & his best friend the Iguana. They came out to see us every day❤️ N/A

Buen estilo la decoración, las instalaciones son modernas; se nota que prestaron atención a detalles estéticos y no solo funcionales, lo que no se encuentra comunmente. El sector de la piscina es muy bonito y el ambiente del lugar es tranquilo, recomendado para familias o gente que busque descansar plácidamente y recargar energías para el día siguiente. El Wifi es buenísimo, en mi caso que viajo y trabajo fue una grata sorpresa. La Ubicación es insuperable, lejos del ruido de las calles principales, pero a 2 minutos caminando del centro de La Fortuna. Franklin, Melissa y todo el equipo son muy cordiales e hicieron mi estadía muy amena. Volvería sin duda. 100% recomendado.

- Namita (10/5): Awesome spot with a great value, and really friendly and helpful hosts!! - Great location. Close to food spots, very clean room and bathroom, enough towels, clean sheets, no bugs, hot water, and ac! Nothing to complain about, we loved our stay!
- Mark (6/5): A decent place, but the environmental issues and ethical concerns overshadowed the stay. - A friendly young host who is clearly working hard to improve the property. Laundry service was very helpful—we could wash our entire wardrobe for just $5–6. A swimming pool is under construction, which shows they are making upgrades. There is a sloth in the trees on-site, which initially seemed charming but started to feel like a bit of a gimmick. It raised ethical concerns about whether the sloth should really be in a proper forest habitat. The biggest issue was the plumbing—the washing machine and even the waste from our shower and sink drained directly into a small stream behind the hotel. Given Costa Rica’s ecological reputation, this was very disappointing. Because of the wastewater issue, we wouldn’t stay here again unless they address the plumbing concerns.

Pepe was hard to find, but we did eventually see him. There's a pool under construction. The kitchen was well stocked. They had laundry (washer and dryer) avaliable. Difficult to find. Google takes you to the right location, but there's no sign on the gate. The buildings transmitted some noise from people talking on the level below.

- Louise (7/5): Good - Great location within walking distance of many restaurants in Fortuna. Could easily spot pepe the sloth and iguanas in the trees. Bedrooms could benefit from some additional items like bedside lamps, hooks for coats/towels and storage for clothing. The apartment wasn’t sound proof or sealed. As it was next to a river could hear running water at all times and a large iguana was able to come into the bathroom.

The hosts are very kind and give good tips on restaurants and activities (and what nót to do). They have a Sloth Pépé living in the garden! They are also building a pool, so the stay at this accommodation can only get better!

- Abigail (10/5): Great location, a great find tucked away in the town centre but quiet. - There is no breakfast. It’s a new hotel so super clean and comfortable. The property feels secure as there is a gate that is locked at 6pm - only guests have the code. As two females this was important to us. And we walked everywhere in La Fortuna town from here very easily. Go to the chocolate shop! There is a great view of the Arenal volcano from the shared kitchen area. It’s hard to find. There’s a hotel next door that directed us to it. Maybe they will get a sign later! We stayed twice in 3 days (Sun and Tues) Both times our air conditioning didn’t work and a technician was called and luckily it was able to be fixed but it was so hot and we needed it because it was 35 degrees. We went out to walk and find dinner and the room was cool when we returned each time. Minor annoyance and the staff were very apologetic each time! 😊

They have a sloth lol There is no reception desk or office so when you check-in you will have to arrange the time because they take cash. - Abigail (8/5): Great space close to town centre. - This property is not well marked from the outside and we had to ask at a nearby hotel where it was. When we found it there is no reception the woman lives a few doors down. Once we found her it is beautiful, very new looking and no issues at all to report. The ac wasn’t working when we arrived but she had it dozed by the time we returned from dinner. The gates are locked and you leave and enter with a code after 6pm so we felt safe and secure at the property. We asked for more towels and they were provided with no issues. We stayed there one night and again 2 nights later. Each time the a/c didn’t work when we arrived. The woman in charge called a technician both times to fix it and it was fixed by the time we got back from eating dinner. This was great but even better would have been if she made sure it was working before we arrived especially the second time. She is young and the property is new and very clean so I’m sure with time this place will improve even more.
- Jill (9/5): It was a real find. Our favorite place of the 4 places we stayed during our trip. - Great location. We could walk to many restaurants, yet it was on a quiet street. The 2-bedroom suite was perfect for my husband and me and our adult daughter and her boyfriend. The managers/owners were a lovely family. Even though we didn’t use it, you could do your laundry on site. Best of all, there was a sloth in a tree in the parking area. Other than hearing someone in another unit showering and flushing the toilet (typical hotel noise), there is no downfall to this place.

- Walter (9/5): Excellent location, nice accommodations, nice people. - The location was excellent and only three-blocks to the center of La Fortuna. The room was nicely equipped and clean. Access to a washer and dryer was a nice bonus. The owner, Franklin, was very nice and easy to work with. The living area, bedroom, and bathroom are all on different levels and it is hard to see this at night. A safety light at each step or different-colored flooring might help avoid a stubbed toe. Check-in was a little weird - a fellow guest told us to go two doors down the street and knock at an unmarked location to find the owner and get the key (after that, all was good).
- Armin (10/5): Exceptional - One of the best Hotels we had on our trip. Beautiful look on the vulcano and nice rooms overall. The location is central but not noisy. Its all new and modern especially the bathroom. The highlight was the resident sloth. Franklin and Melissa are absloutly lovely and helpful. We had a flat tire and Franklin took us to a workshop near the hotel to fix it. I would recommend to stay here. Some hooks for the towels but this is negligible.
- Shahana (8/5): Cosy stay in the city center - The highlight has to be Pepé, the resident sloth 🦥 . We loved looking for him every time we came and left. You also see a lot of birds as well. The property is very centrally located with several restaurants located nearby. Marlisa is also very nice and helpful regarding finding appropriate tours. We had a little trouble with drainage in our shower, though they were very sorry and tried to fix it immediately. You can also hear if people are talking outside your room.

Melisa, the staff is one of the most kind person I've ever met in my life :) She gave me good suggestions and also helped me find a solution to go to the airport! I am so grateful to have met her. There's a river that makes a lot of noise (room 108). Of course, if you like river's sound, it shouldn't be an issue. Also, when taking a shower, the water is sometimes going out which makes a small flood in the bathroom. The wifi connection is sometimes not working well.

It was very quiet and the location is perfect for walking around La Fortuna. As of my stay, the hotel only takes cash payment. I may have overlooked this when I booked but I ended up having to find an ATM in order to pay. The owner was very accommodating however, and still let me check in and drop off my belongings before I went to find an ATM.

- Margarita (10/5): A lovely place to stay in La Fortuna - The staff is super friendly and they helped us with everything we needed. There is a laundry facility available to use. The room is comfortable and clean. The garden is a place visited by various birds, squirrels and a home for a sloth, who is chilling on a tree. The location of the hotel is also very good, in a quiet neighborhood and with a lot of facilities in walking distance. Tthe payment is only made in cash which is a little inconvenient

- Lynn (10/5): Clean, modern, lovely boutique hotel in great location. - Lovely boutique hotel. Air conditioning was great, large private bathroom, laundry room, free parking available, daily sightings of resident sloth and iguanas on property. 2nd floor guests were nice and we all shared a modern kitchen, which allowed us to chat periodically. Very kind staff/owners who pointed out Pepe in the trees, the resident sloth. Our bed was a bit firm for us. We are also used to a larger bed, but it was fine for a few nights. We could have used a little more shelving or extra side table, but the family that owns the hotel were literally making more furniture by hand while we stayed there. Some hooks in the bathroom would be helpful to hang wet towels.
- Arcady (10/5): Amazing surprise - Very very nice place ! Everything is clean, a lot of utilities, and on top of that: a sloth and iguanas live there and you get to see them! It’s also at walking distance from the center which is very convenient. People at that place are very very nice !
- Payam (10/5): Absolutely recommendable 🙂🙂 - We had a great stay in this family Boutique hotel. Everything was clean and brand new. Nice birds and even a sloth 🦥 on the tree made our day. We were only for one night there but would recommend this accommodation to everyone.

- Richard (10/5): Fantastic Stay! - The location was incredible. It is close to everything. The staff are warm and friendly. The room we had was fantastic. There was AC and hot water. The bed was comfortable. The room had a small fridge. It was all great.
