- ChrisM (3/5): Don’t book at Raymond Suites in Time Square Hit - I believed I had breakfast included from my booking which said that. I was told by the man that met me at the Hotel at Times Square that was not right and we would have to pay for breakfast. It was one of the reasons we booked this Hotel unaware the hotel had nothing to do with Raymond Suites which apparently is privately owned and run by an agent for the owner. We were on time pretty much arriving at the hotel, he handed me a key, opened the door and demanded the entire booking fee in cash. I did not have that amount of Ringet on me so he took I had 800 Ringit. He showed a switch on the wall for hot water and left. My bag had been delayed and missed our flight so I had to sit downstairs until 2 am waiting for it to arrive. The room was below the standard of a normal hotel apartment. Curtains in both rooms were stained with what looked like blood but was probably nicotine, the room was probably a smokers room. They were barely hanging on the rails as the clips to hold the curtains were either missing or broken making them look really awful. They were clearly not the photos I saw on Booking.com of this room. The kitchen had a bench top that was marked with serious burn marks in many places and it was in seriously poor condition, there was no cups, saucers, glasses etc nor were there any knives, forks and spoons. The linen was grey not white, the pillows were dark yellow from previous use with stains, the quilt in the cupboard I went to use was marked with obvious old blood and other stains, I didn’t use it I didn’t think it had been washed. He informed he doesn’t put things in the drawers or cupboards because people steal them, he also told the quilt was clean, I told him it was fit for a dog to sleep with, No Hotel would use that quilt. We also had NO HOT water for 4 of the 7 days and only 2 towels for 3 people, I requested a towel and bath mat as the floor in the bathroom was extremely slippery when wet, it took him another two days, we arrived Saturday night, the towel arrived Tuesday after lunch. Not knowing this apartment was not part of the Hotel I requested a towel and bath mat at the front desk only to be told they had nothing to do with the Raymond Suites. There were 3 of us, ladies in our 70’s to 80’s 2 of who were previously born and lived in KL. They were quite upset at the state of the room. I refused to pay him until I got a towel and bath mat plus the other items I’ve mentioned. The booking was for $MYR 1385, he gave me another bill for $1774.16 saying it was for taxes on the room, so an added nearly MYR of nearly 400 plus MYR 200 for Deposit. We could not go elsewhere at midnight so felt we couldn’t leave after paying. This guy doesn’t care, he’s all about the money.
- Eswan (8/5): Very good - Staff, location, room area was excellent. Good value. Staff responded promptly to our requests. Keep up the good work. The furnitures are old and run down. Small tv in living room, no tv in master bedroom. But its no surprise, as I have already expected this.
