- Acacia (10/5): Best most relaxing place - Great location. So close to everything and best of all what a comfortable and relaxing g place to stay after walking Camiño . The host Jesus was so full of local information and handy tips on where to eat - highly recommend! There was. Nothing to dislike. - the place is great

- Marianne (10/5): My host was wonderful helpful and kind. - Was made to feel very welcome. Upgraded. Very clean, daily room service! Stunning view, lovely big windows which opened right up. Light and airy place. Nothing, enjoyed my stay, location perfect.
- Sarah (9/5): Great stay - Very friendly and accommodating host. Very clean. Fab provided as quite hot in room.
- Elizabeth (10/5): An absolutely delightful stay; I would 100% recommend this hotel to anyone looking to visit :) - The owners were very friendly and accommodating, allowing me to leave my luggage at the hotel prior to check-in, and also allowing me to leave it for the day after checking out. For what I needed (cheap, close to the Cathedral of Santiago, pleasant) Hostal Campo de Estrelas was perfect. There is nothing I would criticize.
- Jenny (10/5): A haven to arrive at after a long journey - Fantastic location, owner extremely friendly and helpful, lovely clean comfy private room after many nights of pilgrim hostels
- Tina (10/5): Worth so much more than the price if you are a tired Traveler - This place is a Hidden Gem. Absolutely beautiful people own this small private little place. So quiet. Bed was amazing. I have stayed in many places in Spain over my travels and air conditioning was always an issue. This is the only place I stayed that have a fan! I was thrilled. Steps From the square. The view is worth double the price. You won't be disappointed. So glad I stumbled on it at the last minute. Ask for room number 7!
- Sweepermonk (10/5): Wonderful stay at a family-run establishment - a very local experience! - This is a well-upkept family-run hotel with modernized rooms, comfortable beds and a nice shower cabin in the bathroom. My room could also be blacked out so that the morning sun does not enter the windows.
The owner was also very warm, welcoming and thoughtful. e.g. he gave me a 1.5l bottle of water to take to the room as it was very hot; the breakfast recommendations were also to cafes with fewer tourists and more Spanish guests.
Although I conversed with the owner in my basic Spanish, he was patient to explain everything slowly in Spanish to me again when I did not understand the first time. In so doing, I am thankful to practice the language as well.
Thank you for the wonderful stay!
- Juergen (10/5): Exceptional - I had a fantastic experience staying here. The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, making sure all my needs were met. The room was comfortable and offered a beautiful view of the cathedral, which added a special touch to my stay. Highly recommend!

- Candy (10/5): Great place to stay, very helpful owner, and lovely view of the cathedral. - My husband and I walked the Santiago de Compostela and our last stop was this charming place. The location is just superb, the beds were very comfortable, the room was spotless, and the owner is a real gem! We also had a lovely view of the cathedral, which was very nice.
- Archibald (10/5): Really glad we stayed here! - The couple who ran this establishment couldn't have been any nicer. They were extremely helpful and made our stay a pleasure. They gave us information and advice about places to visit and where to eat. They made us feel at home, and we enjoyed talking with them. We would highly recommend this very clean and cosy hostall with a view of the Cathedral. We liked everything about our stay here.
- Ian (10/5): Brilliant hotel in a great location with outstanding hosts - Great hotel with immaculate facilities. Owners could not have been more helpful arranging an early check-in after we had completed the 310km Camino Primitivo. They also provided excellent suggestions for lunch and dinner and arranged a very cheap taxi to the airport. We could not have been better served. Brilliant! Nothing. Everything was excellent.
- John (10/5): Terrific place to stay in SdC! - The host was terrific! Kind and very helpful. The room was very comfortable, and we had a terrific view of the Cathedral. Lots of restaurants nearby and a five minute walk from the Cathedral. Highly recommend!
- Niels (9/5): Nice play to stay - Super location

- Maya (9/5): Superb -
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional - The view from Rm 7 is Amazing 👏 💜 😍 💕!
- Gerard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mandy (10/5): Exceptional - After walking the camino de Santiago I just wanted to have a nice and clean room close to the cathedral, but what I got was way better. I got a room with the best view of the cathedral and a very warm welcome from both owners. It was a very busy weekend in Santiago and the owners went out of their way to help find a stay for some fellow pelgrims and to help me to get to the airport. Lovely people! Nothing to mention here.
- Bibeault (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kimyong (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leeann (10/5): Comfortable and helpful staff. - Helpful hosts and service
- Robert (9/5): Very pleasant stay - The location is very convenient to the historical part of Santiago. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, well maintained and comfortable, Jesus, the host, was an absolute delight and so very very helpful with instructions and suggestions. The view from room 7 is amazing!

- Benjamin (9/5): Superb -
- Zweig (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patty (10/5): Wonderful stay, great accommodation, and hospitality! - Beautiful accommodations, fabulous hospitality and welcome. Wonderful touches like slippers and fresh water daily, assistance getting around and recommendations for services, restaurants, and bakery’s! Papa (as we called him) helped us feel like family and I couldn’t imagine greater hospitality than here. It really was a great place to rest and enjoy our final days in Santiago after walking the Camino from Lisbon! All great!
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Really modern and clean, lovely proprietor and his wife were very friendly and helpful.
- Daphne (8/5): Very good -
- Stu (10/5): Exceptional - Staff were incredibly helpful. :)
- Mona (9/5): Superb -
- Jacki (10/5): Lovely accommodations with gracious hosts. Highly recommend and will stay here again when I return to Santiago. - Beautiful, comfortable room, with windows that opened up to a view of the Cathedral! As a pilgrim who just finished the Camino, that was a special treat! Would be nice if they allowed temporary luggage storage.
- Mark (10/5): Great place to stay close to the cathedral - Convenient for the city centre, clean and comfortable. The owners were really helpful and friendly, they explained the best places to eat. They couldn’t do enough for me. Nothing at all
- Danielle (10/5): Exceptional -
- Apolonia (7/5): Friendly, personal support for a brief stay in a hyper-touristy town. - Very close to the cathedral and the old town. Immaculate, well maintained. Very friendly staff, helpful and eager to provide recommendations, directions, etc. No elevator, very tiny shower stall. We were unlucky to arrive in 33C weather. No A/C in hotel. The fan in the room was helpful and completely sufficient for us. Unerground parking is a good 10 min walk away, with discount for hotel guest.
- Caroline (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice owner, gave us loads of interesting tips.
Hotel rooms are extremely clean and have all comfort you need for an overnight stay.
Will definitely return when visiting Santiago.
- Anonymous (6/5): Would choose a place for a better value and with a window - location is great the room was very small, it was an “interior” room which meant no window to the outside. This was perhaps one of my least favorite stays on the camino.
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, super clean and updated.
- Anabel (10/5): fabulous stay thank you - wonderful host , lovely room
- Rosanne (10/5): Truly wonderful! - Our host was exceptionally welcoming and friendly. He took the time to show us on the map where we could dine, shop and take advantage of events. I was especially impressed by the clean and comfortable accommodations. The room and bathroom were well organized (I love it when there is space for all my stuff!) and we had a view of the cathedral from our room.
In all my travels I have never been notified when I’ve left something behind, and this time I received an e-mail before we even left the parking lot that they had my pillow! I truly have no complaints. Ask about accommodations if you have a disability.
- Curt (10/5): A perfectly charming and immaculate pension a stone’s throw from the city centre, the Plaza do Obradoiro and the cathedr - The pension is located a five-minute’s walk from the Plaza do Obradoiro and the Cathedral. The owners could not have been more helpful, allowing me to leave my bags before the check-in time and helping me to locate places I needed to take care of some errands.
The room was small, but immaculate and very well-appointed, with everything I needed as a solo traveler staying for one night. I travel to Santiago regularly and have definitely added the Campo de Estrelas to my list of reliable lodgings in the city.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Markus (8/5): perfect for 1 night. - bed was comforable. room was very small without windows.
- Jozef (10/5): Exceptional - Everithing :)
- Fatima (10/5): nice relaxing stay - owners were very kind and helpful - quiet clean and very comfortable cozy place and very close to center
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were amazing. So helpful and attentive. We had the best room in the hostal! with a view of the Catedral from our bedroom and bathroom.
Clean towels each day and umbrella 🌂 for use.
- Susan (10/5): loved it! -
- Nadia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Inge (9/5): Superb - The hotel was very clean, the host provided us with very good recommendations and it's in a perfect location.
- Ben (9/5): Clean, central stay with charming manager. - We had a fabulous welcome from the manager who gave us great advice on exploring the city and gave us a good deal on nearby parking. The hotel is immaculate and very centrally located. Rooms aren't huge but well designed and the bathroom is spacious with excellent shower. It would have been helpful to have parking instructions before arrival as it wasn't possible to stop outside.
- Laboy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorenzo (10/5): Exceptional - Not 5 stars but 6 stars for this luxury hostel. 5 stars for the location, the room, the comfort. The sixth star? The owner: competent person, helpful, kind, prepared. Really a very good person. Y... como prometí, ¡ probé tiramisú con crema y castañas! ...Simplemente GALÁCTICO!! Nulla
- Jordi (10/5): Great location, very nice owner, overall an awesome stay! - Great hotel next to the park in a quiet location, but very close to the center and all the sights! The owner was really nice and helpfull throughout the entire stay!
- Kati (10/5): Exceptional -
- Orquidea (10/5): Exceptional - The owners, very friendly, attentive, helpful and making sure we are comfortable.
Spotless, top location Nothing, all was perfect
- Suzanne (9/5): Great location, staff, and cleanliness - I think we had the best room in the place, with a perfect view of the cathedral. The hallway and lobby had a smokey cigarette smell, but it didn't extend into the room so it wasn't a huge deal.
