Guest Reviews

- Matthew (10/5): - Lovely place to stay with great facilities, a well-stixked kitchen and a very comfortable room.
- Tomasz (3/5): - It smells. Dirty in kitchen and bathroom.
- Luca (8/5): -
- Ashton (9/5): Cool place - This is a great place to stay, easy access to central London City and also Canary Wharf and Greenwich. The house is very clean and tidy with very good facilities. I would have no hesitation in staying here again. Nothing worth mentioning.
- Freda (4/5): Decent but could be better - Communal areas: Kitchen is nice and clean and there’s enough space for personal groceries, complimentary tea & coffee & sugar, lots of (clean) kitchenware and mugs. The soap dispenser things above the kitchen sink and in the showers are cool.
My room: the room was really spacious and I had a mini fridge and sofa with a cosy blanket, no issues with bugs which can be a problem with ground floor rooms. My room: room hadn’t been cleaned before my check in time so I had to wait for about an hour. Pillows and bedding smelt like damp which was really off putting especially when trying to sleep, and the mattress was uncomfortable. Sound on the TV was muffled. The wardrobes & chest of drawers are a bit tatty, like they were painted white to seem more fancy but the paint is chipping and there’s stains and one of the wardrobes was broken. The vibe in that particular room was kind of depressing to me.
Communal areas: The limescale and black mould in the bathrooms is really bad. The shower drains are blocked so water takes a while to go down while showering. Sitting on the toilets is a bit of a tight squeeze. The floorboards downstairs were kind of uneven/lumpy so is uncomfortable to walk on barefoot (house rules say no shoes indoors). There’s a living room which is nice but would’ve been more enjoyable if the TV actually worked
- Freda (8/5): Pleasant - Spacious, clean, allocated cupboard and freezer space for each room, quiet/peaceful road, good natural lighting which is refreshing when it’s sunny. Mini library in my room was a nice touch. Also there’s Google chromecast on the TVs so you can stream from your own devices! My room smelt a bit like damp on the day I checked in so maybe the rooms need to be ventilated better. Sometimes the cleaner would only half clean the communal areas (e.g. only cleaning the toilets but leaving the shower dirty, or vacuuming the corridor but not the kitchen).

- Giulia (9/5): Great place to stay near the underground - Carlos is a great host, very responsive and kind. The kitchen is well equipped and the bed is very comfortable. The location is also good, about 5 minutes walking from Limehouse underground and you can reach Bank (city centre) in only a few stops The bathroom is a little small (especially the sink) and it wasn’t always clean
- Stephane (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anna (9/5): Superb - Great location near the university, met all expectations. Easy check-in and a very helpful host.
- John (8/5): Comfortable and conventionally placed. - The best thing was how quiet it was at night, I couldn’t believe I was in the centre of London. Not a sound. So easy to sleep.
However, the proprietor was also very helpful. Even though everything was done by messaging, he was attentive and provided much to ensure all needs are covered. Generally it was fine. I have no big complaints. It was adequate for the price.
- Hayden (8/5): Very good -
- Tim (7/5): Good - If you are looking for a short term stay in a relatively quiet neighbourhood I would recommend this place:
- The neighbourhood is quiet
- The owner responds to the guest queries quickly, and is very helpful to make your stay comfortable
- The kitchen is well equipped, roomy and has comfortable sofas to chill and work from
- The house rules make sense and during my stay, everyone seem to abide by them
- There are signs and instructions that specify how things work in the house
- The bedding was soft and comfortable, I really liked the material
- The house is clean and seemed well maintained. I wouldn't care less of the issues here but will point it out for future travellers:
- The location is a little bit far from the underground station (about 12 mins from Stepney Green), so if you hate walking there should be a bus but I did not investigate this. I enjoyed walking and didn't mind to go all the way to Central London.
- The sound insulation is a big issue but perhaps that's a problem for most old UK homes with wooden floors. I could hear every movement but it was okay at night as the rules enforce silence from 10pm.
- The shower upstairs is a tricky one to operate and would be good to have some instructions. Not all folks are that curious and patient. To me it comes naturally as an engineer and I was able to figure it out.
- Since there is a no shoes policy in the house, it would be better to have slippers for guests which they can use temporarily during stay to avoid stepping on cold floor.
- There is a couple that stays at the house, some people mind but they are very nice people. You just need to say Hi.
- The desk in the room looked old and was not comfortable to work on, perhaps a modern desk would be worth investing in.

- Ezikpe (6/5): Pleasant but the heater never worked and I was cold all through my stay. - Cleanliness of the interior of the house.
I was admitted before the usual 3pm admission time. This was great!
Carlos offered assistance on how to navigate my way around town Outside was unkept with overgrown shrubs
Heater never worked throughout my stay. I was extremely cold.
No housekeeper to talk when in need of anything.
- Damian (8/5): Was ok for a few nights travelling o a budget - The room was ok, big enough for a couple
The kitchen was clean and well-equipped
Quiet neighborhood People living on the property, which is ok for me, but I understand that might bother others.
The room's floor seemed not to be vacuumed
The towels smelled bad
